Black Barn Vineyard and Winery

My husband and I were blown away by Black Barn from the moment we pulled into their parking lot. We looked at a few different venues before we toured BB and they all paled in comparison. In our hunt, BB was pricier than other venues we looked at, but we felt that everything it included was well worth it. First, our booking included time to set up all day Friday, the venue from 8am-11pm on Saturday (the big day) and clean up time until 12pm on Sunday. We never felt rushed to get in or get out of the venue, because we were the only wedding there the whole weekend. Our booking also included a month-of/day-of coordinator, who was incredibly helpful and her team already knew the venue, the layout, what decor worked where, and they also knew most of our vendors already from previous weddings. The owner, Wendy, is also so kind and very willing to answer questions and suggest vendors. She made us feel like part of her family for the weekend. And lastly, the property is absolutely beautiful. ALL of our guests RAVED about the property. We had a neon sign with our last name, and no one took pictures under it. All of the photos we saw posted online were in front of the venues beautiful pond and fall tree-line. I really can't say enough good things about Black Barn. We are so happy we had our wedding there and we know other couples will have beautiful experiences there for years to come.

If you are considering the Black Barn for your wedding, just do it. As you can see from the photos the venue is absolutely stunning. It rained our entire wedding day but we were not upset at all as the inside is just as beautiful as the outside. The owner, Wendy, is great to work with and was very responsive anytime we had questions. We can’t wait to go back in the future when their vineyard opens up to celebrate anniversaries.

Absolutely stunning venue ! Wendy the owner is so sweet and helpful! They give you the venue for the weekend so you have plenty of time to set up before and clean up afterwards! The wedding planner that works with the venue is amazing! The vines and willow tree are so beautiful! I wish I could live my wedding day over and over again it was so perfect!

We had our wedding at the Black Barn on 08/22/2021. If you're looking for a venue that is stress free and has just about everything you'd ever need for a wedding, then look no further! Wendy was amazing to work with, and was extremely accommodating when we had to reschedule our 2020 wedding to 2021 due to Covid. You can tell that the venue and grounds are well taken care of and that Wendy and her husband take a lot of pride in it - the Black Barn is an absolute stunner of a venue. Our guests were amazed at the beauty of the property and the amenities offered. We were married under the gorgeous willow tree right by the water - such a beautiful ceremony location! We honestly had very little decoration to add -- just table centerpieces for the beautiful farm tables they have ready. There were quite a few guests who enjoyed walking around the pond on the backend of the venue. Just about everyone we talked to at the wedding started off telling us how lovely the venue is and how we found out about it. Guests also loved that there were so many different places where they could roam and talk with other guests -- the main reception room, the outdoor deck (lovely at night with the string lights!), the tented gravel patio area, and the fire pit corner, which was a big hit for many of our guests! The Black Barn is absolutely splendid, and we hope we're able to attend a wedding as guests here so we can see it again!

I had always envisioned a barn wedding, but had a very particular vision. I didn't want a "rustic" barn wedding, like many I had attended or seen before, I wanted a "rustic chic" feel. As my fiancé struggled to understand this vision, I stumbled upon Black Barn. As soon as we pulled up, my fiancé said, "I get it now!". We knew instantly that this was the place for us. Wendy was incredibly flexible as we rescheduled our wedding three times due to COVID. The venue is completely gorgeous with multiple ceremony sites to choose from. Our guests were wowed and mentioned how it was unlike any other venues they had been to. And the fact that a month-of coordinator comes with the booking was invaluable. Rives Junction may be a little off the beaten path, but this venue is worth it!

I cannot say enough great things about Black Barn and Wendy! Our original venue cancelled our wedding due to COVID. We found Black Barn and we were able to book a day fairly last minute- so we could keep our honeymoon date, and everything was absolutely PERFECT! We had a intimate ceremony which Black Barn teamed up with other vendors to include a complete package. It was literally a DREAM. Every single one of our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful it was and how great all of the staff were! Working with Wendy from the beginning was so easy and stress-free she was available whenever I needed her to answer any questions or concerns I had. She has such a calming presence, which I was highly grateful for when I was left in the bridal suite by myself and Wendy came in and kept me cool! The venue itself is beautiful and I truly think pictures could never do it justice. I'm eternally grateful for Black Barn, Wendy, and the entire intimate ceremony crew!

Black Barn Vineyard and Winery was the absolute best decision we made in our entire wedding planning process. If I had to go back in time and plan my wedding over, I would choose Black Barn in a heartbeat. Everything was perfect, from my first contact with Wendy to the night of our wedding. From the beginning, Wendy was extremey accomodating and answered emails quickly. Even while planning our wedding during Covid, I was never worried about a thing because Wendy was always in touch with us, giving us so many options to choose from and ways to move forward. We ended up having the wedding of our DREAMS. I am an avid pinterest-er and was always worried that my wedding would never live up to what I had panned in my head, but you literally cannot go wrong with the Black Barn. Everything was beautiful and my decor looked a million times better just due to the aesthetics already at the venue. The grounds are beautiful and are always clean and kept up. The inside is perfectly decorated and stocked with anything you could need. The bridal and grooms suites were perfect for getting ready and even a calm place to escape to during the night. I had so many guests tell me that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to, and it all had to do with the venue and the planning. Wendy, THANK YOU! We are so grateful to have had this opportunity and can't wait to visit the winery soon :)

There are not enough words to truly describe how wonderful this venue is! It is absolutely breathtaking and I had many people tell me it was the most beautiful venue they had ever been too. The owner Wendy was so easy to work with and made the wedding planning process a breeze. Everyone at Black Barn went above and beyond to make sure that our day turned out as perfect as it could be. Even during COVID they did everything possible to make it happen for us and were so flexible. I can not recommend Black Barn enough!!!

I truly cannot say enough great things about the Black Barn. We had our wedding here in September. Through Covid and all the unplanned changes, Wendy and her team were incredible and beyond helpful. They truly thought of every precaution and made as feel at ease through the entire process. Our wedding day was perfect and our guests gave us rave reviews of the facilities. The grounds are immaculate and the perfect back drop for a wedding! I hope to be lucky enough to attend someone else’s wedding here in the future. 1037291/10! Thank you Wendy and Team!

My daughter's wedding was this past weekend at Black Barn Vineyard and Winery, owned by Wendy Westers. I honestly cannot say enough about Wendy and how wonderful she has been through this whole ordeal of COVID and planning a wedding. If I could give her 10 stars, I would!!! Then there is the beautiful venue she owns! All of the guests kept raving about how absolutely beautiful it was. A big thank you to Wendy and her staff for a picture perfect wedding!!!

My husband and I got married at Black Barn in July 2019. This was, by far, the BEST decision we made about our wedding. If you are considering this venue and are able to make a site visit in person, you absolutely must. The grounds are STUNNING , the barn is completely enchanting and the facilities are extremely well-equipped and thoughtful. There are so many beautiful and different parts to this property where we were able to take all of our photos on the day of. Wendy (the owner) was so easy to work with - she was always responsive and so accommodating with any requests we had. As busy as she probably is, we always felt like a first priority and were always impressed with her professionalism. We had planned for an outdoor ceremony (also at Black Barn,) however, the day of our wedding ended up being one of the hottest days of the summer. We were easily able to move inside and still had a beautiful ceremony (there is AC, but there's only so much you can do about 90+ degree weather!) We had about 130 guests at our wedding, and there easily would have been room for more without it feeling cramped. There are private dressing rooms for both the ladies and the men which were absolutely clutch for stowing all of our things away, and for hiding ourselves away too! I have to mention our wedding planner here, Amber at Pineapple Punch Events, who at the time of our wedding was providing coordination services with Black Barn. I am obviously unsure of what their future together will look like, but either way, PPE is a must-book for this venue. They are AMAZING ladies who know this venue like the back of their hand and will make your day absolutely perfect. Anyways, we COULD NOT recommend Black Barn more. Throughout the day of our wedding, and even in the months afterwards, we have had so many of our guests approach us and rave about the venue - there really aren't many places like it. If you are at all interested - schedule a visit. You'll be absolutely hooked!

So this was one of the first venues we visited during our search and it unknowingly ended up being the standard to which we measured all other visits against. Nothing else compared! We could not be happier with our decision to get married at Black Barn Vineyard & Winery, everything was perfect! The grounds themselves are incredibly beautiful, the facilities top notch, and the venue immaculate. The owner Wendy, her family and staff (should you choose to utilize some of their extra services such as bartenders, highly recommended!) were nothing short of an absolute pleasure to work with and catered to our needs and desires in a way we could have only dreamed of. They are constantly making improvements to the venue and grounds to make things even better! We had approx. 175 guests and everyone loved the grounds (many were wandering the grounds taking pictures themselves!) and the facilities were more than enough room to accomodate us comfortably! I cannot recommend this place enough! Our wedding day was perfect and so was this venue!

This place took our breath away the moment we pulled into the parking lot while on the search for our perfect wedding venue. The whole place was stunning from the main venue room to the bathrooms/dressing rooms. The scenery surrounding the black barn was absolutely beautiful as well. The owner Wendy was very accommodating and always checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly and if there was anything we needed. All of our guest were blown away with the venue and are still talking about how wonderful it was. We had 175 guest who were very comfortable for the both the ceremony and reception with seating. Between the amazing customer service and warm welcomes from Wendy and the pure beauty of the venue, I highly recommend the Black Barn Vineyard and Winery!

Choosing to get married at Black Barn Vineyard and Winery was absolutely the best decision we made! It is a family owned business and the owners take so much pride in making sure their couples have the best day ever. Not to mention, the barn and the property are absolutely picturesque! They are continually making improvements and adding amenities for their clients. Black Barn truly offers that Northern Michigan winery feel in a much more convenient down-state location. This venue is for the DIY bride and couples should be prepared to source their own catering, alcohol, decor, rentals, etc. If you are passionate about wedding planning, you should go with this venue no doubt! Whatever you do, please get Megan as your day-of coordinator! She is so sweet and puts you at ease. She knows the property, best flow of events, and can settle unforeseen issues like no one else can. Wendy and Megan are great at communicating and super responsive to emails and calls throughout your entire planning process. They truly go above and beyond. Our wedding day was magical and I would attribute a big part of that to the beautiful backdrop that Black Barn created for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

After looking at venue after venue for six months, my husband and I began to lose hope that we would find our perfect venue and we’d just have to settle. We stumbled upon the Black Barn and from the moment we pulled in the driveway we knew this was our venue. Wendy was so sweet and we could tell she really cared about making our day perfect. Megan honestly went above and beyond what we expected. From coordinating everything with our vendors to helping us nail down the final details, we are so glad we had Megan there to help us. This really is a family business and they worked very hard to make this the perfect venue - a perfect backdrop to our picture perfect day!

I couldn’t have been happier with how my big day went and it was all thanks to the beautiful venue we picked and the awesome staff they have. I enjoyed every part of our weekend and I look forward to seeing how far they go with this wedding venue business. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiul
