I am so so in love with my preserved bouquet and my husband's preserved boutonnière!! Hazel did such an amazing job putting these works of art together for us to cherish forever. She made the entire process very easy, from coordinating, to dropping off the flowers, to delivery. I felt absolutely confident that my bouquet was in good hands. I highly recommend going to her for any flower preservation needs!
Hello fellow brides! I will assume that you are sentimental like me so let me protect your fragile heart from the pain that I have been going through since I hired Black Botanical Press to preserve my wedding flowers.
These flowers. The flowers that I laughed and cried over, the flowers that I wanted to point to when my own daughters asked about my wedding to their daddy, the flowers that helped to bring joy to my heart on the most magical day of my life are the ones that I entrusted to Hazel Lyon and the ones that she destroyed.
I had a few very specific things that I wanted. I wanted a floating frame, a specific design that would match my style, matching frames (I bought a frame and a shadowbox), and all of my flowers to be preserved and sent to me.
What I ended up getting was a regular frame with my flowers (that have pock marks on them) permanently glued down on paper, a design that I do not like because she decided to go ahead with a design before I had approved it, the frame and the shadow box terribly mismatched (the frame is a dark stain the shadow box looks like someone gave a two-year-old a can of silver spray-paint) and half of my flower crown missing from the ones that were supposed to be sent to me.
The thought that the flower crown that I wore on my wedding day that was attached with a special, hummingbird pin to commemorate my husband's little brother who died as a baby being tossed in the trash along with whatever other things Hazel was dumping breaks my heart.
When I told her that I was disappointed and upset with the final product because it was not at all what I had paid for, Hazel Lyon told me "At the end of the day, art is subjective." Is that what you want to hear as a bride after you open a package that you have literally be dreaming about for months only to be slapped in the face with disappointment?
I truly feel like I've earned more than that. I even contacted her during the planning process after she sent me the final invoice because I thought that she had under-charged me. I was honest and she can't even admit that she messed up or that she's even sorry for what she's done.
She wanted me to mail back everything. I stood up for myself and said no. Even though she ruined them, these flowers are important to me and I don't want her to take them away like she has already taken away everything else from me. Even though they are ugly and ruined now (Did I mention that I can't even fix the design or put them in a floating frame myself because the flowers will rip apart?) they are still my flowers and I want to have them in my possession. Not in the house of the person who so deliberately spat in my face.
She said on April 29th that I would be getting a pitiful refund of less than half of what I paid after I demanded half of my money back (which I think is actually pretty generous on my end seeing as how I am the one who got screwed over) and that was more than two weeks ago. We'll see what happens but I am more than prepared to take this to small claims court.
I spent almost $500 on this and that, along with the sentimental value that Hazel Lyon flushed down the toilet, is more than enough for me to take to court. I have all of our conversations saved so, Hazel, when can I be expecting my money? I'm sure you're reading this and seething with anger so maybe you can understand how I felt when I opened that box. If I don't hear from you soon, I'll be happy to see you in court.
I contacted Hazel a day after my wedding to preserve my wedding flowers as well as my bridesmaids for gifts. Boy was the wait worth it! My husband and I love how they came out! We are also excited to gift my bridesmaids flowers this Christmas! Thank you so so much!
I found this company online. I wanted to preserve my bridal bouquet and hadn't found anyone to do it yet. When I finally found her Instagram, I immediately loved her work. I ended up showing her a couple things she has done that I loved and dropped off my bouquet and some extra pieces I had. I got my piece back pretty fast and LOVED it. I immediately put it up at my house. I definitely recommend using her for all her flower preservation needs. Her work is amazing and its so incredible to be able to save a part of my special day forever!
