Okay Daniel is VERY nice. And the staff who bartended at my wedding was very helpful and professional. The tableside wine service was 10/10. So I don't want to be too harsh but I can only give 2 stars for these reasons. The email on their own website is wrong "mail@blacktiebartendering.net" ... it bounces right back "undeliverable". My original inquiry was in early May, that email bounced back and I was kind of confused for a while. When i did get the right email from my wedding planner, I sent everything i wanted in my email June 15, he followed up June 30 with a good follow up question, and then we confirmed everything on the phone July 4. I did not get a signed contract from him until 8/17. I followed up three times via email, my planner did at least twice throughout august. It made me really nervous I didn't have anyone contractually obligated to bartend my wedding until 30 days before... normally people are happy to get that contract locked in and get their deposit money. I think people need to realize that as a vendor even if you have worked with this person's planner or at this venue a million times, you have never worked with this bride. And this bride is the person paying you... so even if things are truly all good and you've done this a million times, you still need to be responsive! Blind faith is what gets people screwed over in the planning process of a wedding, and I felt like thats what was requested of me. Even after signing the contract on 8/17 I had to pester him to send me the invoice! I really wanted to try the signature cocktails before my wedding, but I was so beat down and consumed with other details by the time we got this guy locked down... At that point in the planning process I essentially just sent him the money and gave up I couldn't wait another 15 days for a reply it was too late. I didn't order the cute acrylic signs like I wanted to. I didn't look forward to sig. cocktails because I didn't know if they would be good. The signature cocktails were really important to me, and after all this work... they weren't great. I felt like they used limejuice concentrate in them (not real lime juice).... not to sound like a brat but when someone specifically asks for patron silver tequila I would assume they don't want to cut corners... I even sent an exact recipe link so this margarita wouldn't be messed up. I doubt that link was ever even opened.... I get people make mistakes sometimes but I work in a very demanding industry... I answer roughly 80-150 emails a day. I planned the entire weddding in 5 months. I worked with dozens of vendors. The amount of work it took to get a reply from this guy was crazy. At one point he did say he prefers to communicate on the phone... to which I would say... well you can't send a contract via text and you own a business you're not a regular bar tender, learn how to use outlook on a regular basis, learn to like it, thats what other small business owners do. If it weren't for my wedding planner assuring me he was really good I would have tried to find someone else in July, but into August I was worried I wouldn't be able to find anyone else if I pulled out. Again my big problems were lack of attention to detail on the signature cocktails and extremely poor response times communicating. If you have a year plus engagement and are more flexible maybe you would have a much better experience with Black Tie Bartendering.
For some reason everything on this website is about bartenders and bartending but when I email them for a quote and I'm told they don't do staffing...how do you bartend without a bartender?
