Where do I even begin?! Working with Black Woods for our wedding was beyond fantastic. Using their wedding package made everything so easy where I feel like I didn’t have to do any work at all. I worked with Molly and Kyla and they were both so incredible. I felt like my needs and interests were really heard and transformed into my dream day. I felt like I had no idea what to do or what I HAD to do when planning a wedding, and they were so flexible and attentive to my needs as a bride. After what felt like THOUSANDS of emails, I knew where to set my expectations, but boy did they blow them out of the water! Kaitlyn was our on site manager for the day and she made sure everything was perfect and handled everything so effortlessly. Food was great and I’ve still been getting messages from friends about how good they thought the food was! I didn’t catch the bartender’s name but he was so awesome! All in all, I 10/10 would recommend Black Woods Event Center and Catering Group for anyone’s wedding needs. With them, you feel like a top priority and well taken care of. I absolutely couldn’t have asked for a smoother, better day and I owe a lot of it to Molly and her team. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

We just had our wedding at Glensheen and absolutely loved working with Black Woods for our bar service and catering. Molly was super helpful in answering all of our questions leading up to the day, our guests LOVED the food (and so did we!), and the serving staff and event manager Jessica were incredibly helpful and friendly day-of. All around an excellent experience and great value!

The appetizer displays were gorgeous and fit in perfect with the style of our venue and plated meals were served beautifully and efficiently! From the beginning, Blackwoods Group catering was easy to work with, they put on the most fun group tasting event which our parents loved and made our covid reschedules as seamless and stress free as possible. They travelled to our venue over an hour away and all the food was cooked perfectly and plated beautifully. Lastly, a huge thank you to Molly! I always looked forward to her emails or chats on the phone knowing she would be as excited about our wedding day as we were. Black Woods did a phenomenal job (as they always do) catering my daughter's wedding in early August! It all started with the excellent work Molly did helping us set up the event. She is extremely professional and 100% customer service oriented. The special requests we had were carried out flawlessly. After the salad’s were served, my Mother In Law came over to us and was so appreciative to have her special salad with no onions (due to allergies). With so much going on the day of the wedding, it was impossible for me to keep track of everything so I was extremely pleased that once again Black Woods did what they said they would do. We also had the “VERY” special food request for the young man that is allergic to almost everything. Molly followed up seamlessly with that request and we were so happy the chef came up with a fantastic option so he could enjoy a great meal too. He LOVED it!!! We also had a person show up that did not RSVP. We knew we would have enough food as we had some last minute cancellations, but the catering crew worked with us to find a place for this individual and all was good😊. In addition to the special requests, I cannot fail to share how good all the food was! Black Woods Catering service and food is top notch.

The staff at blackwoods did such an amazing job taking care of every last detail. The tasting with Molly was so much fun, we even got to bring our moms along. The serving size, plate presentation, and quality of food far exceeded our expectations. Month out from the wedding and every time we hear from guests they are still raving about their meals!

We had the pleasure of working with Blackwoods for our wedding in Walker, MN. We were so impressed with the food and service! Food portions were large and food traveled really well. We selected prime rib and champagne chicken, and had one person working at our venue say it was the best food they have had at any wedding! We can't say enough good things about the service! Everyone was so quick and professional. We didn't have to do anything on the day of, and there were absolutely no hiccups. Molly, the events and catering manager, was so easy to work with. She promptly answered all our questions, and took extra time to talk with us about how covid was affecting our wedding. She was understanding throughout and kept us on track.

My husband and I had to completely re-plan our wedding five weeks in advance due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19. Working with Black Woods Group was honestly one of the highlights of our experience and they accommodated all of our requests and changes with ease. Molly was so communicative and responsive in the early stages and put us at ease immediately. Once the big day came, our guests couldn't stop raving about the food! I would HIGHLY recommend BWG to anyone on the search for a caterer!

We had to change our wedding plans within a couple of months of the date and Black Woods was able to accommodate our changes, and assist us with a catering plan. Our experience was just about perfect. They were on time for set up. The food was high quality. The service was outstanding.

Highly recommend! We contacted Blackwoods Catering a month and a half before our backyard wedding when our original venue cancelled. We love Blackwoods food so it was the only one we contacted but we had shopped around earlier so we know their prices were comparable. Molly was quick, friendly and thorough with communication. The bride and groom chose the filet mignon and champagne chicken for a sit down dinner and bruschetta and boneless wings for appetizers. Blake and Destiny served not only our small group but made to go meals for our neighbors. They were friendly and professional and wore masks and gloves. The food received many compliments from our guests and was delicious. They even made a special meal for a guest with a garlic sensitivity. This has been a challenging time to plan a safe wedding during a pandemic but hiring Blackwoods was a great decision.

We haven’t stopped receiving compliments on our wedding meal yet! Everyone says you don’t have time to eat on your wedding day but I made time after the first bite! Their set up and take down was seamless and they have the most amazing staff.

Black Woods catered our wedding rehearsal dinner and it was THE BEST! Black Woods was so easy to work with- they were communicative, organized, experienced and flexible... both leading up and the day of our event. The set up team was timely and efficient and super fun to have around! :) We chose to have a DIY taco bar and it was truly delicious (especially the shrimp- holy cow!!)- there were tons of toppings and so much food to go around!! My husband and I both wish we could eat that meal again- we received so many compliments! 100000000/10 would recommend! :)

HUGE THANK YOU to Black Woods for helping make our wedding night a success! The food was great and the Charcuterie Tower was BEAUTIFUL! The staff was so sweet and professional. One of the staff was even kind enough to set a couple of plates aside for the bride and groom so they didn’t miss out. Completely unexpected and so thoughtful! And much needed! We were starving but too busy having fun and hosting to make eating a priority. She saved the day with that move! It was so easy to place our order. Molly responded quickly to my questions. Delivery was quick and I didn't have to to anything. The food was absolutely delicious. We ended up with lots of leftovers that everyone wanted to bring home.

Adrienne and the whole blackwoods crew were absolute rock stars leading up to our wedding reception and day of! I had zero concerns about trusting them with the event and felt taken care of above and beyond! 10/10 would recommend! Wish I could do it again every weekend!

I attended an event at the Great Lakes Aquarium where Black Woods was the caterer. The food was absolutely delicious! They had plenty of stationed food which included prime rib sandwiches and salmon on buttery crackers. I can't wait for this event next year!

My fiance and I are beyond excited to be working with BWG Catering for our upcoming wedding on June 21st!! We have attended many events that BW has catered in the Duluth area as well as eaten at Black Woods restaurant for years, but we will now be bringing them down to Mpls to do our wedding and couldn't be more excited! Adrienne and Molly have been nothing but incredible to work and plan with. From endless calls and emails with questions and explanations to taking the trip to Mpls for a site tour with us to helping us build and edit our menu to fit our budget and menu expectations - they have been amazing to work with! We can't wait for our wedding to come to have them with us!

Black Woods catered my cousins wedding this past summer. Everything was absolutely amazing. The Bartenders kept up with my large family and their drinking as most of my family crowded around the bar all evening. They were able to provide wonderful vegan meals for the people that are vegan and the main dish for everyone else was simply wonderful I myself had the new york strip which was cooked to the perfect temp and tasted amazing. Looking at the pictures from this day reminds us just how perfect everything was thanks to the help from Black Woods!!!

WOW! We were blown away with our experience with Black Woods. The food was amazing- we have had so many people rave about it. The service was excellent from start to finish. They were prompt and responsive. The service on the day was spectacular too. We are so very happy we went with Black Woods for our big day.

We are so grateful for Black Woods and their role in making our wedding day so special. We came to them with a unique vision – brunch for dinner – and not only were they open to that idea, but the menu they inspired and presented to us far exceeded what we could have dreamed up on our own. They went above and beyond, adding creative touches here and there (such as adorable glass bottles for the coffee creamers) that perfectly enhanced and complemented our over-all theme. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. They worked closely with us to get every detail just right, and each course (appetizers, main course, dessert, and even a ‘late night snack’) were masterfully done. To stay in budget, we planned to have to source and host the bar on our own. However, Adrienne told us to give BW’s our budget and she’d see what she could do. Adrienne came up with a proposal to host the bar that fit our needs AND our budget, and it was SUCH a relief knowing we would not have to manage that on our own. In running with our brunch theme, they creatively added a mimosa station that was a big hit. At the end of the night, everyone had full tummies and full hearts. BW’s far exceeded our expectations and dreams for this big day – and managed to do so within our budget. Adrienne and her team made sure we were always being taken care of. Not one detail was missed, and the night could not have gone more smoothly and seamlessly. The staff was attentive, friendly and warm without being overbearing. We loved our experience working with Black Woods, and would highly recommend them! Especially if you are looking to do something a little more unique and customized. A huge thanks to Adrienne and her whole team, who put forth so much effort and care into our special day! It was all perfect.

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Blackwoods. From start to finish they have been amazing. Easy to communicate with during the planning process and leading up to the day of. They were also able to accommodate a gluten-free meal for me as I have an intolerance, at no extra cost. On the day of, the food was amazing. Our friends and family are still raving about it. Black Woods Catering recently catered our wedding and I can't say enough great things about them! From the planning stages to actual delivery of services, they excellent in every category - their customer service is second to none! We had an outdoor, small wedding at my sister's home and they were wonderful to work with. They came to do a site visit to make sure they knew the set-up ahead of time. On the day of the event, the staff could have been more gracious to our guests. The food was also outstanding and beautiful presentation of appetizers and buffet dinner. Adrienne and the Blackwoods Catering Staff were wonderful from start to finish! Blackwoods online portal made planning from afar very easy and Adrienne was very willing to answer emails and phone calls in a timely way. They catered to an offsite location-Glensheen Mansion; the food was served in a timely fashion, incredibly warm, and tasted amazing. Our guests raved about the portion sizes and the menu selections we had picked. On an extremely hot day the salads were still chilled well! The bar staff was very friendly and had a wide selection that we were able to customize based upon our likings. Used Black Woods Catering for my wedding reception this summer. They were awesome. We went with a plated meal. I was a little nervous at first that the food would not be hot, as we were using an outside reception area. But my fiancé was set on plated. Adrienne and Katie assured me that this would be nothing to worry about. They were absolutely right!! It was actually crazy how hot the food was when they served us! Black Woods catered our wedding back in September. Caterers came on time, set exquisite tables and displays, served perfectly. Their delicious salads, pork barbecue, select vegan items were the bride’s dream come true. Could not have been Better!!!!!

I had Black Woods Cater my wedding and everything from the planning, setup, day of, and cleanup was flawless. My guests are still talking about how amazing the Chicken and Meatballs were. The bartenders did a great job keeping up with my lively guests. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

The Black Woods Catering team was FANTASTIC. I was so nervous about all the details of my wedding and how everything would turn out, but I never had to worry with this team. I was a guest at an Outstanding event at the Glensheen Mansion for the Duluth Fuse Group - Glensheen Goes Gatsby! Black Woods Catered super great bites (the peach prosciutto crostini was to die for!) and the craft cocktail stations were a perfect compliment to the theme of the event. The white glove service they provided exceeded all expectations. Cannot wait for another opportunity to dress in our 20's best and dine with the Black Woods Catering crew again!

We used Black Woods Catering for our wedding at the Glensheen mansion. The food was amazing! Many of our family and friends told us it was the best wedding food they have ever had. We chose the Steak and Champagne chicken and served it buffet style. We also chose mashed potatoes and green beans, with bread budding and three layer cake as dessert. It could not have been better! The staff serving the food were excellent and the bartender was really professional and fun. Black Woods also saved all of the extra food and let us pick it up the next day. We are extremely happy with our experience. It really couldn't have gone any better, and we would highly recommend Black Woods Catering!

Almost every guest at my reception RAVED over the food. We did a plated meal and Blackwoods took care of everything. I never worried about anything. And blackwoods was SO accommodating. The reason I didn't give them a five star rating was because I had one small issue with the champagne pass being accidentally served during cocktail hour instead of during the toast, and we wanted to host wine and beer up to $1000 but it wound up being an open bar to $1000. It was fine and I think it was more my fault for not being precise and clear in what I wanted for the alcohol.

We married in July at Glensheen mansion. Jennifer and her team did a great job ensuring the food and beverages were perfect. They were able to fill several special requests including two signature drinks, a build your own bruschetta appetizer bar, and a champagne tower. Our St. Germain and champagne signature drink was a hit! We were very happy with the food, beverages, service, and Jennifer's timely and pleasant communication.

We had Blackwoods cater our August 18th wedding at Glensheen Mansion. Absolutely delightful. We began with a very welcoming meeting with Jennifer, followed by an amazing taste testing. The food was spot on the day of the wedding. Warm, fresh, very tasty. We opted for the buffet style, chicken champagne and sirlion. Our guests were very pleased. Blackwoods staff was wonderful and we are so grateful to have had picked the right caterer. I would recommend Blackwoods to anyone!!

Blackwoods in proctor was awesome for both the reception location and the food. People are still talking about the food months later. We planned our wedding from 5 hours away and Jennifer was awesome to work with. I would recommend them to anyone.
