Blackbelly catered our wedding and it was absolutely phenomenal! Not only did my husband and I enjoy the food but our guests were raving about it as well. They were very accommodating to our guests with allergies and food restrictions. I can’t thank Blackbelly enough for such amazing service and delicious food! I highly recommend booking them for not only catering but for dine in as well. We love this place and will definitely be back.
Blackbelly did an absolutely amazing job catering my daughter's wedding. Most people don't expect fabulous food at a wedding, but multiple guests commented to me about how extraordinary it was. Service was absolutely perfect. Costs were very reasonable, and there were no surprises. And the planning process with Blackbelly was actually fun! Marni worked hard to come up with a great menu within our budget. Matt couldn't have been more helpful with logistics. The team was truly delightful to work with.
Food and vibe was great, no issues.
My issue is the 20% service fee, and then being constantly reminded it’s not a tip. The audacity to imply I should be paying 40% on top of a $100+ dinner is ridiculous.
I understand the “service fee” goes towards things like pto, benefits, salary, etc but when I’m being asked to pay 40% on top of a $100+ meal, what exactly did that $100 go towards aside from lining the owners pockets?
Your prices have only gone up since the pandemic so the 20% fee can’t be to offset inflation either.
The food was amazing. We tried so many different caterers and nothing was really working for us until we tried Blackbelly - they are a step above. It doesn't taste like mass produced food, it is like going to a fancy restaurant. My husband ended up getting seconds (luckily there was some extra). Marni was incredibly helpful as we planned - I probably sent her 50+ emails and she gave me so much info to help decide on the food we ordered and how the cocktail hour and dinner would go. Everything ran so smoothly on the day of - thanks to the event captain, Matt! And the guests loved the food. I barely had anything to take home. Thank you, Marni, Matt, and Blackbelly! You all helped make my day so special!
Blackbelly was the only caterer we spoke to that actually cooks onsite when you have a farm wedding with zero infrastructure. They also bring more servers/cooks/captains than anyone else. Their service is impeccable, they really care about detail, and they truly know what they're doing. They will never serve boring, bland wedding food. Instead, we had an amazing farm-to-table dinner with fresh food from local farms for 150 guests. They even put together the special printed menu for all guests and per my request, added the farms the food came from. They really made our vision come alive and we never experienced a hiccup. We used them for bartending too and they were great! Guests raved about them. They may be pricier than others, but it's because it's worth it. And it always shows. And at the end of the day, the full-service caterer makes everything happen (setup, service, bartending, breakdown, etc). Simply put, they are the best.
I work at a venue in downtown Boulder and always recommend Blackbelly to clients who are looking for high-quality food and service. Chelsea, Matt, and the rest of their team are always professional and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend hiring Blackbelly for your wedding or corporate catering in Colorado! Your guests will thank you :)
Blackbelly catered our wedding in Lyons, CO on June 11, 2016, and we cannot say enough great things about them. The food was incredible: Fresh, seasonal, flavorful, and perfectly done. The waitstaff kept our plates and wine glasses full all night.
But the thing I appreciated most was how well Chelsea, Matt, and their team took care of us. They quoted and coordinated all rentals, printed a custom menu for our guests, accommodated some kids meals, and answered every question we had quickly and helpfully.
We also ordered breakfast burritos for the morning after, and all we had to do was swing by and grab them. They were incredible—as big a crowd-pleaser as the reception dinner, which we are still getting compliments on a month later.
In summary, Blackbelly is fantastic and we were so very happy with our choice.
Our daughter’s fabulous wedding reception took place last weekend at Donovan Pavilion in Vail, Colorado. We were thrilled to have Hosea Rosenburg and Blackbelly out of Boulder, CO, as our caterer. We knew early on that the food would be off the scale. We were, in addition, also very impressed by the service the night of the reception. Everything went extremely smoothly starting with the outdoor cocktail hour with yummy appetizers and continuing with our family style dinner. The food was plentiful and exquisite. Chelsea and Matt did a fantastic job coordinating the event. Thanks so much to them and all the Blackbelly team. We will be regulars at their restaurant in Boulder, for sure, and will recommend them to anyone who needs a caterer! Well done!
