The wedding went great literally because of my husbands best man. They have an events coordinator at the convention center who told us during our meeting with her that she’d be present during our wedding to help facilitate things and make sure everything runs smoothly. She was no were to be found. Me and my husband literally had to keep checking our own watches to make sure we were doing everything on time. NO ONE helped us at all. There was a man there who just stood around and didn’t say anything at all. The only thing he did was release the tables to get food and he sent tables up before the bride and groom and the bridal party even had a chance to get theirs. It was a mess. If the venue wasn’t so nice I would’ve gave it 0 stars. OH and the biggest thing yet! They didn’t give us our final payment amount due until the week of the fucking wedding! Me and my husband had to scrounge up an extra $2,000 just four days before the wedding. Ridiculous! Unless you hire your own events coordinator, I do not recommend this venue!
I had such a wonderful experience working with the staff at the Bloomington/Monroe Convention Center for my wedding reception. I was responded to promptly when I first reached out, and received room set-up mockups quickly as well. As the big day approached, Lisa kept in close contact with me to make sure everything met my standards. They have several rooms available for a large range of wedding sizes. They do the catering in-house, which admittedly concerned me- but the food was incredible!! I had guests pulling me aside raving about the entrees we chose. For set-up and tear-down, they were always available to help, and responded promptly to any issues we had. The staff for the night was extremely attentive and efficient. We reached out to several locations in Bloomington for our wedding reception but for the price, the close location to downtown, ease of access to all the rooms, and the service you will receive when you book with the Convention Center, it certainly can't be beat. I would recommend this venue to any couple for their reception!
Beautiful place for a reception and I loved working with everyone there! The food was awesome and it was executed and planned so well.
Very pleased with the services offered. The service and hospitality is top notch.
I really enjoyed working with the convention center! The people there were super helpful and willing to do whatever I needed to make the night perfect. It is a big space that you can really decorate however you want. If you are looking for a big space to hold lots of people this is the place!
