“Our couples know that they are truly in the best hands possible. They are able to completely ‘let go’ on their wedding day, trusting, without a doubt, that everything will be taken care of, seamlessly and professionally.” These are the words t...
hat Blue Fancy Events owner, Meredith, uses to pitch her wedding planning business. What you get for your money, however, couldn’t be farther from this!!
My daughter was recently married and hired Blue Fancy Events for their wedding day planner. The reason, of course, was to be able to relax and enjoy the day while someone else worried about the details and the flow of events. What we got was an absentee planner, Meredith, never where she promised she would be, resulting in more confusion than imaginable, and causing a stressful day for my daughter, her wedding party, and the entire affected family.
To be specific, as mother of the bride, I can honestly say that I do not remember seeing her in control of anything the entire wedding day! There was a great deal of confusion upon my daughter’s arrival to get dressed at the wedding venue. Where do we go? No one was there to tell us. We spent quite some time figuring out ourselves where to get ready and wait. The other bride, however, who was already dressed, spent at least 30 minutes with her attendants in the street outside the venue, waiting for her fiancé’s pics to be taken inside. It certainly deflates the bride’s entrance when the guests have already seen her in the street waiting to be told she could go in. It was also very windy that day, so imagine what that does to expensive hairdos!
Meredith had promised to be there (where else would she be?) when we all walked down the aisle. That, however, was not the case. Maybe she was busy telling the other bride to wait in a room for someone to get her and then never coming back!! Believe it, it's true!! Everyone was waiting for her entrance…and waiting…and waiting. She was finally rescued by her father, who came looking for her. My daughter, who was already at the altar, was very stressed out, anxious about what was wrong!
I could go on and on about the little things that bridesmaids and family members were forced to direct or deal with because of the subpar service we received from Blue Fancy Events and Meredith. The service was very expensive, and Meredith advised us to give her all the vendor tips ahead of time for her to disperse, including her own. (I guess that is the one thing she took care of!) That was a real mistake, as there would not have been a tip with her lack of presence and service. I can’t emphasize enough that despite the fact that Blue Fancy Events has received some awards, they are NOT a top-notch wedding planning business. I would never recommend to any engaged couple to hire this company if they want to truly “‘let go’ completely on their wedding day, trusting, without a doubt, that everything will be taken care of, seamlessly and professionally.” JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!
