Choosing Blue Mesa Grill as the caterer for our November 2024 wedding was one of the best, and easiest, decisions we made throughout the wedding planning process! The personal touch was what made Blue Mesa such an unforgettable RIGHT choice! Karen Hartzell, Blue Mesa’s catering manager, was an absolute dream to work with. She always provided quick, detailed, polite responses and remained so patient, gracious, and understanding with a very overwhelmed bride! Karen was a much-needed breath of fresh air after months of scouring catering sites and reaching out to potential caterers. Not only is Karen delightful and comforting, but she works to ensure that couples have the best experience possible. At first, I wasn’t sure that Blue Mesa would fit within our catering budget, but Karen expertly took our budget into consideration and presented us with a few different cost-effective, and delicious, options. Even better? Guests are continuing to talk about Blue Mesa’s food weeks after our wedding. Oh, and Karen even wrangled us a couple of drinks as we were waiting to take photos after the ceremony. Her demeanor and customer service excellence are unmatched. I only wish we had another reason to book her and her incredible, professional team again.

Karen and the team at Blue Mesa Grill delivered a flawless catering experience that left our guests raving! We used Blue Mesa for our wedding and let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed. Karen was an absolute godsend to work with. First off, she was very quick to respond to our initial inquiry and set up a tasting for us where we were treated like royalty. Throughout our time leading up to the wedding, Karen and her team were always very quick to respond to any questions and they modified the menu for us without hesitation. The professionalism and kindness that Karen showed was truly top notch. The food was incredible too. The night of our wedding we were so behind with everything going on and Karen's team jumped right in and helped us stay on track. They were better than we could have ever expected. Bottom line - if you want to take some of the stress off wedding planning and be confident you're getting exactly what you want, then hire Blue Mesa for your catering. They were truly exceptional. My husband and I hired Blue Mesa Grill to cater our wedding reception in August 2024 in Dallas. Karen Hartzell was our point of contact during the planning process, and she went ABOVE and beyond!! She made us feel so taken care of, from the initial tasting all the way through the wedding. She was easily available via phone whenever I had questions. I even needed a few extra things (serving dishes for our desserts and beverage dispensers) and Karen had it covered, and even reassured me in the midst of my wedding planning stress! We chose the street taco bar with full service catering and the food was absolutely delicious. We loved that chips and salsa were included for our cocktail hour. And we even had guests who were planning their own weddings, who later asked for our caterer because they loved the food. The included china, silverware, and cloth napkins all made for beautiful table arrangements, and full service catering meant I could just relax and enjoy the evening. I would 100% recommend Blue Mesa for anyone's wedding or event!

Blue Mesa absolutely killed it with our wedding food. I had so many guests tell me it was the best food they ever had at a wedding and I even had a bridesmaid’s date go home and try to remake the bacon wrapped chicken (huge hit, highly recommended). The staff was amazing and very professional on the day of and Lyndsey who was the coordinator for my catering order was SO kind and organized and set my mind completely at ease.

One of the best and easiest decision of the Wedding. Karen will work with you and help you stay within your budget. It also includes the plates, silverware, and cloth napkins. I received so many recommendations for Blue Mesa so we had to give it a go. They offered a food testing prior to, which was amazing! We got to pick a selection of appetizers, entrees etc and we also used them for bartending. They setup and took down with no effort on my part. They are clearly very experienced caterers and at this venue especially. The only downside was I don’t think they carne asada came out on time, we were wondering where it was and had to ask someone and finally it came out but only after everyone was sitting down eating. They did go around a though with the platter to offer it. Sometimes things happen. I will say the testing was much more delicious and the playing was much fancier than at the actual wedding but I get it, it’s much harder to feed 100 people than 2. All in all, good experience but not perfect.

My husband and I catered Blue Mesa for our wedding reception and we could not be happier with the service they provided. We worked with Karen leading up to the reception and she was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed for that day and paid close attention to detail for everything. Wow! Blue Mesa was one of if not the best vendor we had! Karen went above and beyond for us and made our day so special! The day was made so easy and she took so much stress off of us! The food was fantastic and we are so thankful all they did for us!

My now husband had two main jobs for our entire wedding which was the music and the food. HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Blue Mesa was everything we could have hoped for and then some. From the beginning we worked with Lyndsey who handled our quote, contract, and all details related to the wedding. She was quick to respond to my questions, answered everything with such great detail, and even scheduled our tasting to help us select the menu for the big day. We went with the Full-Service Catering option which was perfection. They handled everything for us including set up and tear down of tables and decor, passing the apps during cocktail hour, serving at the buffet, bussing tables, and cake cutting. They provided us the linen napkins with three options of colors to choose from, as well as their own buffet linens. They also provided all silverware for dinner and cake, china dinner plates and cake plates. It was amazing to have everything be all inclusive because it made it that much easier. The food was delicious, and we heard compliments all night and the next day about how great everything was.

Karen is an amazing woman to work with. She was by far one of my favorite vendors and made me feel so welcomed and valued. She is amazing at responding and wants your experience to be the most amazing as possible. The food at our wedding was so good and the compliments were endless. The team members who helped us did an incredible job and my guests couldn't have more gratitude. You cannot beat the price and the quality you get with Blue Mesa!

Karen and her team did an amazing job. The food was delicious, tasty and fresh. We especially received so many positive comments on their steak fajitas! We would order them to cater our life every day if we could!! We also had their employees bar tend which was super helpful to only have to hire one company for two functions!

We worked with Lyndsey from Blue Mesa - Fort Worth for our wedding and her and the staff were great!! She communicated everything clearly, was accommodating with requests, and was able to answer all of our questions. They were the most inclusive catering vendor for their price out of all of the ones we reached out, which was so nice as we were planning. The best part about using Blue Mesa was that they have experience with catering weddings/events so we felt like we were in great hands from the start. Regarding the food- our guests raved about it, especially the salad! As other reviews say, they truly went above and beyond the night of, the staff were very friendly and willing to help wherever needed. Can’t recommend them enough!!!

Mother of the bride here. I simply can't say enough GREAT THINGS about Karen and her team at Blue Mesa! I want to share what we experienced in case you are in a similar spot. In all honesty, we had become very discouraged with catering tastings. As a first time mother of the bride, I was under the assumption that a caterer was the best route for a wedding, and we had "heard" restaurant catering was not the way to go. Although I am sure there are excellent caterers, we were not finding one. It was then that our wedding planner suggested we try Blue Mesa. 1. Karen and her team were prepared for us when we arrived for our tasting. 2. Karen greated us quickly and with great enthusiasm. 3. Karen and her team prepared exactly what we requested for the tasting, and even prepared other items as our tasting continued. 4. Karen was very personable. She made our daughter, her fiance, my husband and myself feel as if she cared for us. We instantly felt a connection. 5. Blue Mesa's catering menu is different from their restaurant menu, meaning some/many items are not available in the restaurant. Their catering menu provides many options that are elevated and beyond what you might typically think of when eating at Blue Mesa. 6. We LOVED our selected menu and heard so many compliments about the food during the reception and after. 7. I know trying food at a tasting and then having it at a reception for 200 can often not taste the same as it did at the tasting. But our menu was just as delicious, if not more so, at the reception! My greatest worry day of the wedding was "what if the food is not as good as it was at the tasting?" I think that is often the case. Blue Mesa came through with flying colors. Everything was outstanding!! 8. Blue Mesa provides dinnerware, flatware, and napkins as part of your catering cost. This was a tremendous savings for our budget, and we liked what they provided! 9. I would highly recommend looking at Blue Mesa's catering menu and scheduling a tasting!! 10. Karen also accommodated 3 tastings for us! Never once did she make us feel bad or like we were being a bother. Every single time she welcomed us and treated us so kindly! 11. Day of the wedding, Karen and her team placed flatware and napkins at each place setting. The double buffet was setup just as we had planned. 12. The Blue Mesa team passed appetizers at cocktail hour and they fully serviced our reception, as was required by our venue. Even if not required, book their full service staff! I know there are many choices to make for a wedding. Our decision to book Blue Mesa was one of our best decisions! I more than highly recommend them!

Blue Mesa catered my wedding, and I can't say enough great things about how awesome our experience was. The staff were incredibly accommodating and quick to respond to any and all of our requests; the staff at the event were super professional, fun, and friendly; and the food / drinks were outstanding -- our guests couldn't stop talking about how much they loved it! Our original caterer went out of business three months before our wedding, leaving us looking for a caterer in a short time frame! We are SO glad it worked out because Blue Mesa was our favorite vendor. We got an almost immediate response, and every one of our questions was answered in a quick manner. We LOVE the food here already, but working with them to plan our wedding menu options was so smooth. Their staff was professional, there were more options available to us than lots of other catering companies, and they even helped with clean up! Having the Blue Mesa staff handling the service and food at our wedding was wonderful!

The Blue Mesa Plano location catered our wedding reception, and we are SO happy with the service and food we had! First off, our catering manager, Karen Hartzell, was one of the sweetest, most helpful, accommodating, and thoughtful people we worked with in our entire wedding planning process. She went above and beyond in so many different areas. We were also impressed with how much food was provided with our dinner and cocktail hour service, and not to mention delicious. We received several compliments on how tasty it was. And the service was unmatched! They helped with filling up water goblets for our guests, and even helped pack up rental items at the end of the night - rentals items that weren't even theirs! Just such a genuinely great experience all around. Would absolutely recommend!

Blue Mesa was so amazing! Our guests couldn't stop mentioning how delicious the food was. They even boxed up leftovers for us and we are still saying how yummy it is days later. We catered from the Blue Mesa Plano location and Tanya was so nice! Communication was so easy and she was very attentive with our needs for catering. The food was delicious, and the staff that came out to help were also very nice!

The food was amazing, communication leading up was great, and the setup was perfect. My biggest complaint was that staff had issues with completing payment and in doing so, harrassed my husband and I throughout the reception to the point where we both had to leave and get on the phone with the manager. It was bothersome and a hamper to our happy day and whoever did that should have gotten one of our parents to solve the problem instead of taking the bride and groom away like that. If you're looking for Blue Mesa, the food is worth it and they provide a lot of great amenities, but definitely make sure they know who to talk to if issues do arise.

Blue Mesa was amazing for our wedding. The fajita bar was amazing and offered so many variations and addons so that it fit the taste of all of our guests.

We had Blue Mesa cater our recent wedding and we were extremely pleased with the quality of the food and the level of service during the entire process! The food on the day was great and I had many guests compliment the food. During the process, we had to make a few changes last minute due to a drop in our guest count to do COVID-19 cancellations, and they were amazing to let us make some changes at the last minute! The staff on the day was also great!

I have always loved Blue Mesa, so when I saw it was on the list of approved vendors for our venue I was thrilled! There were absolutely zero problems with them throughout the process. It was totally straightforward and there was always someone to get back to me quickly when I had a question. And best of all, our guests LOVED their food. A lot of them were from outside of Texas so they’d never had it before and I was so happy it was something that everyone wanted to eat. Highly recommend!

For being a crowd-pleaser, Blue Mesa is reasonably priced. I loved that in conjunction with the delicious fajita buffet we got flatware, silverware, bar staff and supplies, and people to assist with cake cutting, serving, and clean up. My guests were going up for seconds!

Having Blue Mesa cater our big day was the best choice! Jennifer Walker and the staff at Blue Mesa are all very friendly and helpful, and were really accommodating to our requests. They offered suggestions of modifications we could make to our menu to stay within our budget. Blue Mesa also offers linens, plastic cups, and ice! The food was just as delicious on our wedding day as it was at our tasting, and the guests raved about it! If you are looking for a reasonably priced, no-fuss, yummy catering service look no further than Blue Mesa!

Overall, we were fairly pleased with our experience with Blue Mesa. The food was good, the staff was pleasant, and the margarita machine was a hit! Johneshia was easy to work with and was a pleasure at our tasting. However, we did have an issue on the wedding day. We discussed having 1 plate of vegan tacos specially made for my sister since she was our only guest with a dietary restriction. I'm not sure what went wrong, but the vegan tacos were not provided, and she ended up eating chips and salsa for dinner. Everything straight from the menu was good, but you may want to think twice about making special requests.

We hired Blue Mesa to cater our wedding. We had a cocktail hour with apps and then a fajita bar for dinner. We also had churros for dessert. About half of the wedding guests were from the east coast, they are still talking about how great the food was a month later. Overall, the food was a hit! I highly recommend Blue Mesa!

Blue Mesa Grill was the best decision we could have made for catering for our wedding!! We had heard great things about Blue Mesa Catering and are so happy that we ended up choosing them! During the planning process, they showed us three different catering plans we could choose depending on type of food we wanted/price points. That was extremely helpful in giving us an idea of type of food we could have based on pricing. I was so blown away with how delicious the food was! We had so many of our guests tell us how incredible the appetizers and dinner was which was so amazing to hear because we wanted to make sure we had really good food at our wedding. Plus, we had a chip and dip stand that stayed open all night so our guests could continue to nibble on food if they wanted! We also did a bar package through them and I would also highly recommend that, it was such an easy process and I loved how we could choose what we wanted for the bar! Another thing I need to emphasize is how amazing the staff was, they were so professional, kind and fun. I also had so so many guests come up to me to tell me how incredible the staff from Blue Mesa was and that is really something that stood out to me. I am beyond thrilled that Blue Mesa was our caterer (we also did our rehearsal dinner through them which was perfect), they truly made our wedding day one to remember!

We used Blue Mesa Grill for my daughter's Oct. outdoor wedding reception. We went with them because of their good reviews as well as their unique menu of items they offered. They were great! The food was plentiful and tasted wonderful. All of the servers / bartenders were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them. They are professionals and they do a great job!

Blue Mesa was great! Guests loved the food, it was festive with a southwestern party vibe! We worked with Vanessa who was very helpful. Delicious food- and they offered to send the left-overs with my family! They also did our bartending and cut our cake!! Would recommend. They are very professional and we didn't have to pay them until 3 days before the wedding! We felt like it was very low-risk, high-reward! :) They also let us choose our own liquor for the margaritas- so we could decide the quality and price.

We used Blue Mesa in Fort Worth for our wedding and Lyndsey was so fun to work with! The food was delicious and we had a complimentary food tasting ahead of time which was great (for my parents, my fiancé at the time, and me). Lyndsey also did our day of coordination. They were very professional and helped work behind the scenes so there was no hiccups. The only down side is sometimes it took a while to hear back from emails - that is to be expected somewhat though because I got married in wedding season :) Great food, great service, and I think it was a great price! Very happy! (We did fajitas with sides, and a few appetizers for cocktail hour which turned out great)

I had blue mesa grill in Fort Worth as my caterer and they were fantastic. They were prompt with setting up and very flexible. We also used them for our bartenders and all my guests fully enjoyed the bar! The staff was very respectful and went above and beyond to make my day great!

We cannot recommend Blue Mesa more for your wedding food! Johneshia accommodated every dietary concern, stayed on top of every detail, was organized and most of all, was absolutely fun! This was also a very affordable alternative, so this is a great option for the couples on a budget. We received compliments ALL NIGHT from attendees on the food, as well! We LOVE Blue Mesa and we made the perfect choice having them at our wedding!

Andrea was a pleasure to work with. She helped us come up with a fabulous menu and was even able to accommodate my maid of honor who is vegan. We used their signature blue margaritas as our signature drink and they were a hit even in 30 degree weather. They provided plates, silverware, and linen napkins. They served chicken and steak fajitas with all the fixings. Sweet potato and tortilla chips with 2 kinds of salsa. Spinach dip, salad, rice, beans, queso, sour cream, guacamole, chicken adobe pie, chicken empanadas and chimayo corn. My wife and I wanted a private dinner so they fixed our plates and drinks and set them up upstairs. They also packed us a to go plate at the end of the night and packed all the remaining food for our family to take home. We had a coffee and hot chocolate bar provided by Blue Mesa as well. The Servers were very nice.

Working with Andrea at Blue Mesa was one of the easiest things I did as far as wedding planning. From the tasting, we were sold. The food was delicious and affordable. Andrea is amazing at keeping up good communication during the planning. At the wedding, the staff was friendly, helpful, and reliable. They kept everything replenished, were great with guests, and made the cleanup so incredibly easy. Blue Mesa took care of everything from setup to cleanup, and I didn't have to worry about a thing. The peace of mind they gave me, and the fact that the guests loved the food and drinks, made for an amazing experience.
