Gary checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were on the same page of when food should be served (we needed our guests served before we were done with pictures because we were running behind) and if we wanted to keep the top of our wedding cake. Even before the wedding, every time I mentioned Blue Plate was catering our other vendors and people we told responded with “oh good choice!” Which shows you the reputation they have in our community and the industry. (For reference, we chose the apricot glazed chicken, peach bbq pork, and southwestern stuffed pepper for our entrees.)

r event was sweet, timely, and stealthy. Also gave us our leftovers which was a nice bonus. He was extremely attentive of us and our guests. But, setting up our event with Blue Plate was the hardest part of our wedding, and we got married during Covid. We were working with Gary and getting him to reply to our emails was like pulling teeth. I always felt like I was annoying him with each call. The worst of it all, I reached out to Gary a few times telling him our Point of Contact at the venue had been trying to get ahold of him...he never reached out. So the day of, no one had any idea when they were arriving and it was a mess. Communication was absolutely poor. Food was great. Gentleman day of was a delight. But I am so glad we no longer have to work with Blue Plate because it was a headache.

David was right there to work with us through the challenges that 2020 threw our way, and was always willing to go out of his way to help us navigate these challenges as they arose. Blue Plate’s pricing structure was transparent, and we believe we received a very good overall value for the high level of service his team delivered. The quality of both the food and service on the day of our wedding was excellent. We highly recommend working with Blue Plate to cater your wedding!

Thanks to David and his team we were able to have a delicious dinner buffet that was served safely to our guests. Blue Plate also helped serve our desserts to guests from our dessert buffet table to prevent any cross contamination. I was very impressed with the can-do attitude. The number one thing that stood out to me: The staff was very attentive to the wedding party. I have been in 3 weddings and have never before been able to partake in appetizers, Blue Plate came up to the wedding party both before and after the ceremony asking if we were hungry (before the ceremony) and brought us a tray of appetizers when we were taking photos during cocktail hour. I was so thrilled to actually be able to eat the appetizers that we had picked out and really appreciated the extra effort from the staff. Thank you Blue Plate Catering, Jon, Greg, Miranda and Lizzie for making our wedding day dreams come true.

They also included different side options so we'd have all the information needed to make the best decision. Such great service! At the reception on the day itself, everyone we talked to said the food was delicious! In addition, they even helped us set up our tables' minimal decorations (candles and some greenery) and our cupcake display (which we ordered through a different vendor)! Knowing how Blue Plate usually runs weddings gave us confidence in their ability to coordinate with other vendors and deliver a high quality "product" both in their service and the actual food. Maria was very patient with us throughout the whole process and made a point to ensure my husband and I had a chance to actually eat some of the appetizers on our wedding day. She also checked in with me during the reception to see if everything met my expectations! Truly great service! The quality of the food was excellent and we received many compliments from our guests. I wanted something a little different than the typical meat, veggies and potato people usually eat at a wedding and Blue Plate had some great ideas! We ended up going with a pasta bar and Maria helped to ensure it was exactly what we wanted! The appetizers were also delicious and beautifully displayed - be sure to ask about the fruit/veggie/cheese/meat/cracker display they can do! We made some additions to our order a few weeks before the wedding - a popcorn & diet coke bar for my mom's birthday! Not only was the Blue Plate team accommodating to this, they drafted up a separate invoice and helped keep it a surprise until the reception! It ended up being a fun way to honor my mom and I'm so appreciative to Blue Plate for making it come together. Overall, we were impressed with the professionalism, flexibility, price point, service and quality of food at Blue Plate and would highly recommend them to anyone else!

bout, which was extremely useful. The day of the wedding I barely even noticed them there (good thing). They were quick and efficient pre-dinner and during dinner and I assume after dinner. Their bar staff kept the drinks flowing and guests had no complaints. We had them running 2 bars, one upstairs and one downstairs, without issue. The contact person was very polite and had a smile on his face, you could tell he was enjoying his job. They've worked a lot with The Lageret (my venue) and I could tell that made the day run smoothly. The food we ordered was good. It was better at our taste testing, but that is to be imagined due to the mass production that was done for the wedding day. Presentation was great. Guests really enjoyed, we received several compliments. Overall great company to have cater your wedding or event. They make things easy!

hem 4 out of 5 is the staff on the day of seemed a bit confused. They couldn't find the silverware (they brought), and were a tad behind schedule. Right away when I greeted the servers and thanked them for being there, they had no clue who I was -- they just didn't seem overly knowledgeable or friendly about our event. However this is all minor and wouldn't stop me from hiring them again. The food was delicious, and the rest of the evening went without problems. Many guests commented on the variety of the food as well as the great flavor. We went with a smashed potato bar, pasta station and carving station. I would highly recommend the smashed potatoes-- delicious!
