When we chose to have our wedding at The Taubman Museum, we were told upfront that Blue Ridge Catering was the exclusive caterer. Looking back a year later, I can honestly say that...
requirement was a gift. I wouldn’t change a thing—Blue Ridge Catering was an absolute dream, and I would choose them 100 times over.
First, their communication is top-notch. Timely, clear, personal, kind, and incredibly responsive. From our first interaction, it was clear they genuinely cared about making our day perfect. Their menu options are extensive, offering endless possibilities—whether you want a sit-down dinner, buffet, or grazing hors d’oeuvres. And the bar? They made sure our vision came to life, even bringing special coupe glasses for the bride’s signature Gimlet cocktail!
Beyond the food, they provided an incredible selection of table linens, plates, and cutlery to match any aesthetic. And let’s talk about the food—FABULOUS doesn’t even begin to describe it. Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious everything was. The presentation was stunning, and the service was flawless. The staff was like magic—our drinks stayed full, our plates disappeared seamlessly, and we barely noticed they were there.
Their setup was first-class, and they worked closely with our coordinators to ensure every detail, from the centerpieces to the timing, was exactly as we envisioned. And then there’s Cari. I cannot say enough about how incredible she was. Cari was our main contact at Blue Ridge Catering, and she went above and beyond to make every single detail perfect. One of the highlights? A fairly last-minute request for a donut cake. Cari took 12 boxes of donuts and created the most gorgeous donut cake imaginable!
The quality of service, the attention to detail, the complete lack of stress, and the outstanding food and presentation—they exceeded every expectation. I could not have asked for more, and somehow, they delivered ten times more than I could have dreamed of. Blue Ridge Catering is a must for any event.

r that works with Blue Ridge Catering and the Sundara Wedding Venue went above and beyond to make sure that everything got done in a timely fashion and the day was perfect. I can’t say enough great things about her and her staff. They offer several options for how you would like the wedding meal served. No matter if you choose buffet, plated or stations the menu choices were varied and unique and absolutely delicious. The setup of the venue, the presentation and service of the meal and bar and everything else was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend Blue Ridge Catering for your special event!

f anyone else doing our wedding. For the day itself, our event team was FANTASTIC. The coordinators did a great job making sure everything ran smooth on their side. The wait staff really took the fancy-meter up a notch. The bartenders were quick and efficient and fun. The food was absolutely, 100% on point (I have never had a single bad bite from them). Before the event, BRC did a great job of keeping in touch with us and making sure we knew our options. We had a misunderstanding that was figured out right before the wedding, and they worked diligently with us to find a positive solution. My words can't do justice to how pleased my new wife and I were to have chosen them. I would highly recommend that Blue Ridge Catering do your wedding.

ought it was as good as any fine dining restaurant in Roanoke. Their cocktails are also amazing. Our signature drink was a huge hit, with many guests describing it as the best cocktail they have ever had and requested the recipe. Hannah was great to work with and was very patient with us as we went through multiple proposals and updates due to COVID. We highly recommend BRC.

ed really well together to make our wedding a success. We planned this wedding from the other side of the country and did not have a chance to taste the food beforehand, but we took a chance with Blue Ridge Catering based off their online reviews, and we were really happy with the results. We were able to to create a menu more or less following our budget and it was all delicious. They were also very attentive to food allergies and restrictions. I would recommend Hannah and her team at Blue Ridge Catering.
BRC was the exclusive caterer for our venue - but even if that was not the case, I would have chosen them! Hannah was phenomenal to work with, and really brought my ideas to life! ...
Everyone was beyond happy with the quality and taste of the food. However, it was the outstanding service that really made BRC memorable. The wedding party was given a beautiful cheese plate, waters, and sodas during picture time (since we were unable to go to cocktail hour). The team constantly checked with us to make sure our drinks were refilled and we had everything we needed. They also sent home enough delicious leftovers that we didn't have to worry about grocery shopping and cooking when we returned from our honeymoon!

I have never heard people rave so much about food at a wedding. Hannah was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. They made sure my husband and I were never without a plate of food in front of us or drink in our hands. We are so glad we went with BRC, it is definitely worth every penny!

I felt confident in the team at Blue Ridge Catering to put on a wonderful, beautiful wedding for us, and they really did deliver beyond our wildest dreams. The wait service was wonderful, every need of mine was taken care of. They never let me lift a finger when it came to get my food or drinks the entire night. They even sent us home with a huge doggy bag of food and cake. I highly recommend!
Mark was a pleasure to work with and did a great job catering our rehearsal and reception dinner! The food was all delicious!

I was thoroughly impressed with the ability of Mark and his staff to seamlessly make sure all guests had a wonderful experience, while taking special care of the bride and groom.
I would highly recommend Blue Ridge Catering to those looking for delicious plates, exceptional service, operational efficiency, and great creativity to customize the perfect experience for you and your guests.

ed about the food and the service. In my job, I used many caterers in large cities across the country. None were better than Blue Ridge. Hoping I can lure Mark and Co. up to DC to do events here. I recommend them to you highly.
BRC catered our October wedding and the food and service were phenomenal. They're the best around!

ssa helped us to selected the perfect food choices and wasn’t afraid to give us her opinion when we asked (we always found her opinion to be perfect and timeless). She caught a few mistakes in our overall planning that we would have overlooked and made us feel like we were working with a friend. The food itself was mouthwatering. We received tons of compliments from our guests. An example of their personal touch, we liked a dish that we tried at one of their events but we thought it was too summery for a winter wedding. They worked with us to winterize it, but held true to the original flavors that drew us to it in the first place. Blue Ridge also created two unique cocktails specifically for our wedding that took into account flavors we loved. My friends are still talking about those drinks! Melissa even helped us plan the space, select table linens and supported us when the plans shifted a little mid-way through the planning process. Overall, I would highly recommend Blue Ridge Catering to anyone for any reason!
The food was absolutely amazing! So many people complimented our menu choices and were asking who catered. There were clean plates all around.

ntiful and the perfect size, and the stationary hors d'oeuvres were continually restocked. For dinner, we opted for buffet-style serving with each table released one at a time. Service flowed quickly and efficiently. Staff were friendly and helpful and kept the food well-stocked throughout dinner.
While planning the event, they were courteous and helpful and always willing to change this and alter that and answer all kinds of questions. I could not have been happier. Sara was just wonderful.
Everyone tells you that your day will go by so fast (it does!) and you won't even have time to eat, but Blue Ridge handled that for us. When my husband and I sat down at the reception, a plate had already been made for each of us with a little bit of everything. At the end of the night, there were big bags in the car with some of each dish and even some of each of the hors d'oeuvres since we'd missed them during photos. It was wonderful to go back to the hotel after such a long day and nibble on everything and talk about every little detail.

and recommendations of their most popular items. The room layout she made for me was extremely helpful in visualizing the setup and flow of the reception and she changed it countless times until we got it just perfect! The food was all amazing and I only wish my groom and I had been able to eat more! The guests are still raving about the appetizers and the selection of food we had there in our stations. The concept was great and really made the evening go just as we wanted it! It kept guests mingling around and no one stayed seated for the whole night! I would highly recommend Blue Ridge Catering to any bride or event planner. They deliver top notch service and quality and are worth every penny paid. They aren't cheap but if you really want your event done right and don't want to have to worry about the food and beverage, then you should put it in their hands and they will surely take care of it and exceed your expectations!
One of my dear friends used Blue Ridge Catering as her caterer at her wedding last year, and after tasting the food at the reception, I remember leaning over and telling my finance...
that we HAD to have them do our wedding. First of all, the food is absolutely delicious! I was married in August, and now, two months later, my guests are still talking about how delicious everything was! Our caterer, Melissa was amazing. I bombarded her with emails in the months leading up to the wedding, and she very sweetly and patiently answered all of my questions and had great tips and suggestions for everything from napkins to alcohol. She also worked with our budget and had great suggestions for saving money here and there. We purchased our own alcohol, but used a bartender from Blue Ridge, and his drinks were fantastic. We had bride and groom cocktails that were mixed perfectly, and Melissa also arranged all of our cupcakes for our cake cutting ceremony. She also helped me set up all of the centerpieces for the tables, and provided me with websites to figure out color schemes and alcohol amounts to buy per guest. During the reception, she made sure that the servers brought my husband and I appetizers as we took pictures, and they also made us plates to ensure that we took time to eat. After the ceremony, they boxed all of the leftovers for us to enjoy in the week after the wedding. I cannot recommend Blue Ridge Catering and Melissa enough. They were fantastic to work with, and I would jump at the chance to work with them and eat their food again! Thanks so much, Melissa! Love, Mary and Jared
Blue Ridge Catering does a great job with the food, service and presentation. I worked mainly with Jennifer and she was so flexible with meeting times, and answering all my emails...
, and helping us nail down an amazing menu. We did a cocktail hour with passed and stationary appetizers. I wish I was able to eat more, but alas the woes of being a Bride! They made every effort to bring food to my Husband and myself while we were taking pictures. I heard so many great things about the food I was not able to eat, so I feel confident that everything in the cocktail hour was good. We had a plated dinner with options of chicken, pork or vegetarian. I tried both the chicken and pork and both were very good. I heard good things about the vegetarian as well. Our served salad was amazing and exactly what I had imagined. We did mini pies for dessert (along with a cake) and I am so upset I did not get one. People were raving about how good the pies were! We chose coconut cream and blackberry. The bar was great - we had beer and wine only but that was truly enough. The servers were also wonderful - as soon as I arrived someone came up to me with food - can't get any better than that! The only thing I would have done differently would be to have the tasting - it costs money because they have to make all the food but I would have liked to have tried everything prior to my wedding day.
We got more compliments on our food than anything! They made everyone of my wishes come true. DELICIOUS!! and amazing presentation! I couldn't have wished for more!!
Blue Ridge Catering was so easy to work with and truly made our wedding complete. They held a private tasting for us and prepared some of the best food I've ever had. They were g...
reat at working on the fly, as much of our wedding plans were thrown for a loop in the aftermath of some severe storms that rolled through the night before the wedding, which knocked out power and running water for our reception site. They brought their own generator for cooking and refrigerating, we didn't run out of drinking water or ice all night, their wait staff had to deal with the record setting temperatures, and on top of that, they were still able to serve the same excellent tasting food we had at the tasting months before. Our guests were raving at how awesome the food was and saying that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. We would definitely recommend Blue Ridge Catering for any event.
It was pretty good. Wished it would have been a little more seasoned and moist but good.
Blue Ridge Catering makes the best wedding food I have ever had! I have been to a lot of weddings in 2012 already I have not come across food that both I could eat (I don't eat dai...
ry) and that tasted good AND that there was enough of.
BRC came recommended by our reception venue so I immediately contacted them with probably the most complicated list of dietary restrictions ever, and they produces an incredible menu. They also were very accommodating for the ever changing discussion in our home about alcohol, meeting our need each time.
About 2 1/2 months before the wedding we went for our taste testing and left very full and with leftovers! We were blown away by the taste of the food, how willing they were to continue to make changes to the menu, the surprise desserts, and just how nice the whole staff was.
We had a buffet setup at the reception but the wait staff brought us our food and made sure our drinks were never empty. To this day we are still getting compliments about the food and the very helpful staff. We left the reception with to-go boxes of more food, since they knew we probably didn't get to eat as much as we wanted to.
We have already recommended to other couples and would love to eat their food every day! Yes they may be a little pricy but they are worth every penny!
Awesome food and presentation. They listened to everything I wanted and went beyond with service, communication, and suggestions.

e flavors were outstanding. However, my mom-in-law got a call from the catering manager saying that we had set a table cloth on fire and if it was ok to bill her credit card for it. We were there for the entire event, even for some of the clean-up, and there was no fire, nor did any of our guests say that there was a fire or that any table cloth (or anything for that matter) got burned. When my mom-in-law responded with this to the caterer that no one from our party remembers this, that perhaps it happened after we left or somewhere during the transport, the caterer responded that one of his staff personally spoke with my mom-in-law about this AT the event (which was actually not true). He further explained that he smelled smoke/something burning while he was in the kitchen (which was adjacent to the space in which we had the event). It made us wonder then, that if he smelled smoke of something burning, why did he not come out of the kitchen to alert anyone? The matter was handled very rudely, though he did not charge her credit card for the burn. I was SO disappointed, because they made really such a pleasant experience during the planning and at the event, but this follow-up situation was handled so rudely.
Mark, the owner, was very professional and helpful figuring out each detail. Their food was delicious and all of our guests commented on how good the food was.

ring. They did not disappoint. We had a fun tasting at his catering kitchen a few months before the wedding. He was interested in our ideas and incorporated them into the dinner. It was a sit down dinner for 100. The plates were beauitful and the food lived up to his reputation. We had several guests comment on how good the food was - to me that says it all. I will use their services for my next event - maybe a baby shower someday!

ything we have ordered dinner to breakfast to desert has been excellent - and the presentation creative and classy. Entrees taste like they have been prepared individually, food is very fresh, and cooked perfectly (hard to do for a large number of people). Will use them again and again because everything is professionally and creatively cooked and presented - and tastes great. Well worth the money. We can't say enough good things, and if there were more than 5 stars - I'd gladly give them!

s because we could have the menu we wanted, at the price we could afford. Since we don't live in Roanoke, I was nervous about the communication we would have. However Mark was very reachable by email & phone. We didn't have any trouble discussing ideas even late into the night. Blue Ridge Catering really worked with us on creating a Menu that reflected our personal style. We love Latin food and wanted to incorporate the color and flavors into our reception theme. He used our suggested ideas and took it one step further creating stations with various food choices from different Latin regions. He even provided a tasting so we could savor all the goodies before our magical day. Our guests loved the variety and Mark's staff, were very accommodating. They even brought appetizers to our bridal party so we wouldn't starve during pictures. I would recommend Blue Ridge Catering for any event that has a desire for Flair (on a budget).
The staff was so nice and always made sure we had exactly what we needed.
