About this vendor
Blue Rock Farm's event center is located in rural Orange County, North Carolina, just moments away from Durham, Greensboro, and Roxboro, N. C. The event barn is nestled among fifteen acres, and has panoramic views of the pond, meadows, forest and gardens. Visitors enjoy the relaxing and peaceful setting, and take advantage of the conversational seating areas in the gardens, and around the pond. The event barn was built in 2107 to host our daughter's wedding, and is now open for other families to enjoy weddings, special occasions or corporate events.

Just had my wedding here and it was absolutely perfect! The venue itself is beautiful and Elizabeth and her staff took care of everything and made the day easy and stress free for me. I highly recommend having an event here. We chose the all inclusive option which is the way to go because we didn't have to worry about anything. Elizabeth even did our flowers and they looked amazing! My whole family loved the wedding and can't stop talking about how beautiful everything was.
We had our wedding reception at Blue Rock Farm in May, and the experience was fantastic. The grounds are gorgeous, with plenty of space for outdoor games and picture taking. The barn itself is comfortable as well as beautiful, with flexible seating arrangements and plenty of little tables for all those last minute, "wait we need a table for that too!" surprises.
Our day was pretty hot, but fans and cross breeze meant the barn stayed a comfortable temperature, and guests were happy to play in the sun then head back inside for a cold drink.
Parking is easy and plentiful, and both the catering van and family in an RV had no problem getting in or out.
Day of, we had a minor catering mishap and Elizabeth jumped in to smooth things over right away. All the staff, directed by Elizabeth, are helpful, accommodating, and very easy to work with.
We looked at many venues, and Elizabeth offered us the best price with the most flexibility. With the package we chose, we were able to bring our own caterer and flowers, and used a mix of our own decorations and ones provided by Elizabeth.
As a queer couple, we were particularly careful in choosing our location and staff, and Blue Rock Farm couldn't have been better. While weren't not planning on getting married again, we would gladly turn to Blue Rock Farm for a variety of events in the future.
Blue Rock Farm is an amazing place. They did a wonderful job. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. Yesterday was exactly what I imagined and I would do it again here if I could. It's very affordable too. This place stands out because they really give you a magical experience and will help with everything you ask for. Everyone who came had a wonderful time and it's such an amazing place. They are so nice and I will always remember how beautiful it was.
Where to begin? Well, to start on a positive note, the barn is gorgeous inside with all the lights. The food was absolutely amazing, and the caterer is the one you use with the all-inclusive package. If I could go back and do this all over again, I would probably use the venue, but never would purchase the all-inclusive package. That was the worst mistake. With that package, Elizabeth, the owner, is the day-of-coordinator, decorator, person-in-charge, etc. Based off my experience, I personally think she has her hands full and is unable to fulfill all the duties. Communication, or lack thereof, with her throughout the process should have been a direct indication for me of how this day was going to go. Being the day-of-coordinator, I would expect her to be there throughout the night. Even though she claims she was there whenever needed, and asked during the night if everything was going well, she left around 8PM. Be aware of how many servers and bartenders you have and for how many hours they will be there. We found out a week before the wedding that they would only be there for 4 hours and wouldn’t be able to serve alcohol after, unless we paid for extra hours. I will say thank you to Elizabeth for asking a bartender (her son-in-law) to stay until 11PM. Otherwise, alcohol would have ended at 8PM. There was no water on the tables and there were supposed to be servers offering wine to guests at the tables. The servers and Elizabeth claim to have asked guests, and according to them, nobody wanted any wine when they asked. However, speaking with multiple people sitting at different tables, they were never offered wine. There needs to be more lights outside. Many guests could not see to get to there car without using their phone. My husband and I had to get a guest to walk with us to the honeymoon cabin so we could see. At least bathrooms were installed two weeks prior, even though they were supposed to be complete in March 2018. I worried about this throughout the entire planning phase, because it was extremely important to me. I went off the great reviews posted. However now I realize it was her sister, daughter and son-in-law that wrote those reviews. It would have been nice to read reviews that didn’t have familial ties. I would not recommend working with Elizabeth Botts. Her services (day-of-coordinator, decorator, etc.) and servers are valued at $225, which is the amount she stated herself. Therefore, I guess you get what you pay for...
I had my wedding here and loved how beautiful and romantic the setting of this venue is. When we saw the detail in the gardens, the antique doors, the twinkling lights, and the pond we knew we wanted our wedding to be there! Bob and lisa were so nice to work with, very accommodating and helpful to get everything we dreamed of. I would recommend this place to make any occasion time well spent!
This was the venue of my sister-in-laws reception. The owners not only helped her with everything to make it a perfect part of her day, but the venue itself was amazing! It is located out in the country so you immediately get that sense of peacefulness. The barn was so gorgeous with all the lights and gardens surrounding it. There is a lake that is adjacent to the barn which was a special feature. This is a great place to go if you are wanting that quiet, serene, romantic with a touch of rustic flare. Thank you Blue Rock Farm for making my sister's dreams come true!
I attended a wedding reception at this venue. It was beautiful and was the perfect place for making life long memories. It is a relaxed, serene setting perfect for special occasions.
