I would give Meredith 2.5 stars as a wedding planner and 1 star as an honest business person. Feel free to contact me and I'm happy to share the full details.
As a note, when I first brought my concerns to Meredith, she told me I just didn't understand the contracts. I gave her the opportunity to clarify the contracts, and instead she had her lawyer send me a termination agreement with a non-disparagement clause, so that I wouldn't write a review just like this.
High level - she is not upfront about how she makes money as an event planner. The contract states you are paying a flat fee but really she is funneling 4x that amount via contract padding and undisclosed ownership of an overpriced (and very *basic*) event rental company. I say *basic* because buying out Restoration Hardware isn't 'good design', it's just expensive. Anyway, after I learned of the dishonesty and conflicts of interest, and after she sent her lawyer after me, I wanted out of the contract but I did not feel it was right to sign a non-disparagement agreement, which would allow her to sue me if I ever said anything badly about her. When I had told her I didn't feel I needed to sign anything, she told me she has "been through this many times with clients" and they never had a problem signing a non-disparagement agreement -- revealing that she has been through this (and caught) time and time again. Not the stress you need when planning a wedding! Fortunately, after I explained to her lawyer that I had documented everything (and after he berated and screamed at me for a bit), he finally advised her to return the deposit, I imagine because he realized the writing was on the wall.
In addition to her dishonesty, the biggest issue with Meredith is that she isn't a good functional planner, she only wants to do the 'fun' stuff. She refuses to put a budget together, and prefers to max out costs (mostly on her own event rentals) by having you "dream big" and then she makes you feel cheap for pulling back anywhere. I've seen this in countless reviews and wish I had taken it more seriously. It took me months of begging to finally receive a draft budget, and when she finally provided an *incomplete* budget, it was already 150% overbudget. That's unacceptable. If I wanted to run-up a bill I can do that on my own! As a remedy, she suggested I remove the programs from the ceremony, as if that was the issue and not her grossly overpriced rentals or kickbacks she was giving herself across the board. As an example, we had a tent at our wedding which required a generator. The generator costs $800, and she charged us $2,000. She did this on nearly every line item. There should be no hidden upcharges when you're paying your planner a flat fee, or else they should be disclosed upfront. After firing Meredith and finding another wedding planner (better taste, better personality, and we came out with a much more beautiful and unique wedding - check out The Gatherist!), magically the costs came down, even where no changes were made.
I know this sounds like an angry review, and trust me I was incredibly angry at the time, but I hope you are able to take it in earnest because I wish I had done better research before hiring her. With her, you will spend more to get less. While capable of running an event, at the end of the day she's also a scammer who likes to think of herself as being something different/bigger than she is. Listen to her voice and you can hear it.
Meredith is wonderful. She has a creative eye, and is amazing at bringing visions to life!
It was a pleasure working with Meredith and her team. She was able to take our sample pictures and turn them in to a real life dream. No photo could capture the real beauty of our wedding. We had consistent communication when we needed to and were able to meet up a few times in person to go over more details (we’re from out of state). I also loved that Meredith held a table Mock Up so we could alter any designs to make sure our decor was perfect! Thank you again Meredith & Bluebird!!

We were so happy we found Meredith! We met her for drinks after we had a horrible experience with a planner in SLC, and needed to hire someone who felt like our friend and advocate in this process. As soon as we met her and got to know her, we knew she would be the right planner for us. Meredith got right to work on the design elements we wanted, as well, and met for a walk through at our venue almost immediately. In addition, she hosted me at her home for a design mock-up to show me just how beautiful everything would look. Throughout the planning process, Meredith showed a great deal of patience, as my parents are in the wedding industry as well and their floral designers and vendors needed to work closely with Meredith. Most planners of course have a list of preferred local vendors, but Meredith worked with our out of state floral team like a champ and even held regular check in meetings with them. I was put at ease as the bride in knowing Meredith and I had weekly check in calls. We always were made to feel that she had time for us, even when busy, and that was of the utmost importance! Finally, when it came to the design budget, Meredith was more than flexible. We wanted the best in design work, of course, but didn't have an unlimited budget. Meredith allowed us to use a decor vendor she didn't usually work with but one we liked the most on our budget. A lot of planners won't budge on that so we were really happy with how that turned out and cannot thank Meredith enough for planning the most beautiful wedding of our dreams!!
Thank you for making our wedding everything we hoped it would be! From the beginning Meredith was open to all new suggestions and able to work with what we wanted. She kept our budget in mind the whole time too which was great! We loved our venue and her team was really able to make it in to something magical. I have always dreamed of this day since a little girl, so to see it come to life and experience it was amazing!

We worked with Meredith, and let me just say that she saved us from countless headaches. After we had two planners quit on us, we reached out to her less than a month before the wedding. I can't express how much she helped us with her professionalism, thoughtfulness, and respect. She understood that our wedding was not going to be a conventional one and she was extremely flexible when it came to giving us advice. We don't think our wedding day could have gone any smoother - all of our guests said it was the best wedding they had been to - thanks, Meredith!
Multiple friends of ours hired Meredith as their planner and after speaking with other planners in the Park City area, we contacted Meredith and we are very happy we did! My (now) husband and I hired Meredith as our wedding planner from beginning to end for our winter wedding and she was impeccable! She is easy to contact and easy to work with - she helps relieve the stress of the wedding planning process! There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are for Meredith and her wonderful team being part of our special day. She is quick and knows how to handle situations on the spot. For example our transportations tire blew out on the interstate and she immediately worked with the car company to get us another vehicle to pick us up to take us to our wedding. She is very good about keeping to schedule and adapting accordingly. If you need a planer, pick Bluebird Destination Management because, not only does she do an amazing job, but she does it with a warm heart! THANK YOU BLUEBIRD!
We met Meredith for dinner to see if she'd be the right wedding planner for us and we had so much fun with her we knew she was the one! She totally got what we were looking for and had some great ideas to share. Working with her over the next few months proved we made the right choice, she went above and beyond. She helped pick vendors we had not selected yet, worked with the vendors we already hired, and handled all the small projects we had, even made our table numbers!!! Meredith brought our dream wedding to life, it was even better than we pictured. Anytime we were feeling stressed or needed any help on something done we contacted Meredith and her team and it was all taken care of. We could not have had the beautiful wedding we did without Bluebird. For weeks after the wedding we had family members and friends contact us to tell us how beautiful our wedding was, it's all because of Bluebird. Not going to lie, we had one of the best weddings, ever, and it's not just because it was ours haha. THANK YOU!! I cannot even begin to thank Meredith enough for her amazing efforts and talented team. Everything was perfect, right down to the very last detail. Flawlessly executed and she is 100% responsible for that. It was amazing, incredible, a perfect weekend and we absolutely could not have done it without her tireless work. From flowers to candles to help getting ready for my wedding, It all went wonderfully and I am forever in debt to her for her help. Our wedding was a logistical and detail nightmare and Meredith and her assistant Jillian worked tirelessly, even following our busses to make sure they got home safely. I loved her attention to detail and her ability to keep things moving forward CALMLY. I hope we keep in touch and I will absolutely be recommending her to any future engaged friends in the area! Could not have had this wedding without her.
Meredith is one of a kind! Our wedding wouldn't have gone as smooth as it did without Meredith and the Bluebird team. My wife and I wouldn't have changed a thing about the whole weekend and that is because Bluebird made it so easy for us to relax and enjoy our guests while she was off getting things done. The whole process of planning was very easy, to the point and fun. We were able to see our table dressings, walk our wedding location, and feel 100% confident going into such a special day. It wasn't easy putting together a destination wedding in only 5 months with a bride and MOB in different time zones (and not always on the same page) and the wedding date at the end of summer, your busiest season.
I had a lot of anxiety and was especially nervous over rooms and any overlooked details, but all along bluebird saw the big picture, and in the end came through for us big time!
Our expectations were exceeded, and we are thrilled!!! We loved every moment.
Bluebird made the ceremony decor so tasteful! I feel like they really understood our vision when showing us ideas for that.
The tent decor was perfect! The set-up perfect!
The team executed my vision perfectly, I was delighted!!! Many guests complimented us on our arrangements.
The Montage came through for us too! They checked guests in early and quickly on Friday, to my great relief!
The food, wine and service were excellent! Our compliments to the kitchen and staff.
The important behind the scenes elements, such as the heaters, sound system, stage and floor installations, table set-up,
lighting, etc were handled so well by the team.
Seeing from our room all that was involved in that, we realized the effort and coordination needed to do it right.
Above all, we are thrilled and will have a memory to cherish. The Bluebird team made this happen, and we will always be grateful.

Similar to other review - we thought we were hiring someone to be our "partner" in the planning process. However, it soon become clear to us that her goal was to make as much money off of us as opposed to helping us save as much money in the process. Every conversation felt like they had their hand in our wallet - every conversation was "it's going to cost another couple thousand dollars."
To make matters worse, she never even asked us what our budget was - there was never an initial conversation about "how much do you want to spend and I'll make sure we make the most of every dollar" type of thing. That should be the first play in the book - that's our fault, that should have been our first question to her: "here's our budget, here's what we want, can you do it? Yes or no?" Moreover, we never got the impression that she was ever working "for" us in terms of negotiating with vendors or looking for alternative price quotes. Knowing a thing or two about other industries, its not unreasonable to assume that there were kickbacks going on between vendors and planners - maybe a % of invoice type of thing was being exchanged for the sake of directing business to one company or another? Who knows - but if that is the case, then there really isn't an incentive on their part to negotiate the price down with vendors - their interests would be more aligned with the vendor than the client. And if that isn't the case, then I guess the only explanation is ambivalence or laziness...not exactly any better.
To make matters even more complicated, she often suggested that we rent directly from her. Which as you can imagine represented a clear conflict of interest, as there was definitely a "grey area" when it came to hiring her vs renting supplies from her. She was always quick to suggest a design/decor element that would involve us renting her personal inventory and often spoke negatively about other suppliers in order to sway us towards renting items from her (tables, chairs, lanterns, bars, etc etc). And sure enough, whenever there was a debate between renting her item or the same item from a competitor, she would insinuate that the competitor was inferior and we were cheap for considering it.
As if all of that wasn't enough, we had one vendor tell us flat out to not let her handle the invoices of subcontracted vendors. This person was under the impression that there had been some misappropriation in the past - i.e. BEDM collected all of the invoices from the various vendors and passed a total bill along to the client, however the bill that was passed onto the client was more than what was originally billed by the subvendors. No idea how much validity is behind that, and frankly that's business 101 for any General Contractor, but we're not building Trump tower, we were planning a wedding. Long story short, we paid all of our sub vendors directly.
Like any couple, we hired them and put our faith in them to help us through this process, but any trust that we had at any point in the process was completely gone by the time our wedding rolled around.
Good riddance
Our main regret from the wedding planning process was hiring Bluebird. We even considered firing her one month before the wedding. Thats how awful our experience was - we considered throwing in the towel right before the wedding and hiring someone else!
The day of the wedding was great (largely because we had to step in and micromanage up until the ceremony started) but not sure it was worth the months of headaches. We thought that by hiring a wedding planner we would have someone to take a lot of the stress off of our plate - but not so much. In retrospect, I wish we had taken the advice of several people and gone with the other planner in PC that was recommended to us.
