Michelle of BluSage Catering was the WORST and I will never recommend her. She was rude and a no call, no show on my wedding day.
Michelle came off as sweet and personable at first and we liked her but once she landed the sale and all payment...s were made, things changed. She stopped communicating with me and my planner leading up to my wedding. However, she responded to the Venue's manager because she is on their list of required caterers and it's how we learned she wasn't attending the run-through the week before my wedding.
About a month before my wedding, Michelle rushed me off the phone and HUNG UP on me. I was left in disbelief and tears. I've always spoken to her respectfully so it shocked me. She sounded annoyed when discussing some final details that were important to me. It'd been hard to reach her so I wanted to ensure she understood that we wanted regular fish tacos; not the dollhouse miniature ones she was trying to push. She also insisted my idea for the floorplan wouldn't work either. Since she felt strongly that it was "impossible", we asked for her suggestion for the floorplan but she never responded.
On my wedding day, Michelle was a NO SHOW! She made no mention of not ever being at my wedding despite multiple assurances at the tasting. She even stated, "oh girl, I'm going to be there and make sure that you don't forget to eat." Those were her exact words. Unfortunately, that statement was entirely false because she was not there. My planner was not informed either. In fact, Michelle doubled booked my date. I later discovered she had a huge event containing a larger guest count. It became apparent to me that the bigger event with the largest budget was prioritized. Although the young lady she sent in her place was likable and did her best, I had no idea of the arrangement. Also, she and others weren't well informed of all the details Michelle and I had discussed therefore, it caused disorganization and a few mishaps.
Moreover, my wedding was during the week of the Florida hurricane so it poured the entire day. Michelle's directions would've been helpful since she's familiar with the venue and well equipped to handle these unexpected situations. Furthermore, the food was served cold and all at once including cocktail food. At the end of the night, her staff attempted to take home OUR alcohol but were interrupted by my Mother-in-law. Unfortunately, one of them succeeded in taking home a gallon of my mom's homemade ginger beer. A few rented Moscow mule mugs were missing too. The dollhouse miniature hard shell tacos I specifically expressed that we did not want were served. Mind you, I sent her multiple images via email and text message specifying the kind of tacos I wanted (your typical fish tacos, y'all).
After the wedding, Michelle failed to reach out to us to inquire how things went. She didn't apologize or give us an explanation for her absence either. I've replayed our last conversation in my head many times hoping to figure out what I may have said or done to warrant such treatment from her. I often wonder if my color could've been a factor too since she interacted mostly with my Mother-in-law at the tasting. Regardless, her behavior was inexcusable.
I only recently heard from her this month because she saw my review. Unbelievable! Anyway, I regret hiring this caterer and will never recommend her.
