We hired boardwalk for our wedding reception. There was a deal for uplighting and photo booth which was affordable compared to most places. Shawn is awesome and really works with you. He replies quickly and is fun to work with. Would absolutely recommend boardwalk to anyone!

The most talented DJ around. Shawn really knows how to get guests out of their seats! Shawn is extremely professional with a fun vibe! That’s all I needed to know after we met with him. He takes pride in what he does and pays close attention to detail. I loved how we met with him a couple days before our wedding day to go over the song choices that we selected. Shawn suggested a final dance for the bride and groom. At the time, we had no idea what that even was and sharing those final moments of our wedding night was our favorite memory and we have Shawn to thank for it. We are so glad we used Boardwalk Photo Booth for my daughter's wedding. Everything about the experience was great. Shawn was very responsive and helpful during planning. We had an old-fashioned photo booth at the wedding along with a bunch of fun props. Shawn and Carolyn were on site helping everyone. My fiancé and I came across Boardwalk Photo Booth Company while attending The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank's "Tastefully Yours" event in 2018. There is something about the nostalgia of sitting in an actual photo booth that makes events so enjoyable. ENERGY, FLOW, and FUN! Shawn provided his services at my son's wedding and it was fantastic. His vast array of music had something for everyone, as he mixed the old with the new with an "Energy" that did not leave the room. We hired Shawn to DJ our wedding and we did not regret it! We ended up having a micro wedding that had to end 1.5 hours earlier then planed due to Covid restrictions and our only regret was that we didn't have longer to enjoy ourselves and more of our friends and family couldn't be there to enjoy the fun atmosphere Shawn provided. We hired Shawn and his wife to do a photo booth for a Labor Day celebration at the Cape Hatteras KOA, and they knocked it out of the park! I can't say enough good things about them. We used Boardwalk at our daughter’s wedding this past weekend. We had never hired photo booth entertainment before and did not know what to expect. It was AWESOME! From our first meeting with Shawn we we very impressed. He really is open and accommodating of any requests, he was able to match the eucalyptus design in our table numbers to the design at the bottom of the pictures. I think the folks tending the booth were busy from cocktails thru the send off. Everyone, little kids, older folks and all in between has a Blast with the props and endless combinations. We could not be more pleased with the whole experience.

We hired Shawn to DJ our wedding at Half Moone in Norfolk, VA. From the first consultation, we knew Shawn was legit. He walked us through the entire process and made us feel at ease. Boardwalk has THE BEST photo booths in the Hampton Roads area. So many custom options to choose from. Shawn's DJ and lighting equipment are top notch as well. He demonstrated each and even texted us pictures of the different colors the lights can do. Between the custom lights, photo booth, and awesome DJ equipment, I don't think you can do much better in this area. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality and professionalism of this company. Shawn is very thorough. He called us the night before the event to make sure he got names and timing correct. We gave him a playlist of songs and he created the playlist. The "guest book" photo album is a great keepsake; we find ourselves going back to it all the time when we want to "relive" our wedding. Bottom line: you can't wrong with Boardwalk Photo Booth Company and Shawn.

They gave our guests a true photo booth experience, and everybody loved it! I really love that everything was included in pricing, there was nothing extra for the props, or multiple copies of the photos. Also loved the customization strip—our guests are able to take home more than a plain photo strip. This is our second time working with Shawn at Boardwalk Photo Booth Company and both times it was amazing. The first time was for our younger daughter’s wedding at the Newport News City Center Marriott in July 2015 and the second time was for older daughter’s wedding at the Chrysler Museum of Art in July 2018. Boardwalk was so fantastic, both my husband and I are leaving reviews! The one thing that we definitely wanted at our wedding was a photo booth, and that is how we found Boardwalk! Their photo booth is fantastic and so much fun! They bring their own props, and create a photo strip guest book for you throughout the night! We decided to have magnetic photo strip frames as our wedding favors, and Shawn not only recommended a quality company to purchase the frames, but he also created a custom message insert for our gifts! Now onto the music. Everything was perfect from ceremony through reception. Shawn kept our guests dancing all night, and worked seemlessly with our venue to make sure the night ran smoothly. Also, they are reasonably priced!!! I cannot recommend Boardwalk enough.

Shawn Cox brought all of his own, professional, quality equipment on site. I literally did not even have to rent a linen to cover his table. He was on time and ready to go long before guests arrived. A guest favorite! The hit of the wedding, no lie! The album we have to look back on makes me tear up every time! Shawn designed a perfect logo and had a ton of props for the guests to use. He was great with guests and told us where to look with every single pose. I had originally thought about going with another company but I am sooo glad I didn't. Boardwalk was such a great addition to our perfect day.

We used Boardwalk Photo Booth at our wedding just over a week ago. My husband really wanted one at our wedding, and I am so glad he insisted. Shawn was our point-of-contact during payment and leading up to our event. He even created customized signs and artwork for the photo strips that matched our event details. The employees who worked our event were kind, funny, and so helpful. I have been to so many weddings over the years, and many photo booths are run by people who clearly do not want to be there, or who offer no help while taking photos. We hired Shawn to DJ our wedding and he was absolutely phenomenal! We had a blast and have heard the same from everyone else. Many commented on how great he was. He did a mash-up for our first song as we asked and made an on-the-spot adjustment to it (as we also asked), which was perfect. He kept the party going the whole time. His mix of songs, the order he played them, and the way he played them was masterful. He was involved on the mic exactly the right amount. Hired Shawn and Carolyn for our wedding which was the best decision ever. We were initially considering a band but we realized that getting the package deal of Shawn and Carolyn was the way to go. Highly recommend getting both of them if you want the perfect wedding. Shawn was very classy and had everyone on the dance floor the entire night. We're so glad we got a photo booth! Thinking we were just going to have a small wedding, 70 guests...my husband initially did not feel the need for it. Good thing I talked him into it because it was an amazing touch! My fam loved it, the guests loved it, and it comes with a guest book signage where you can see all the photos of your guests where they write a note! It was so much fun!!! There was all kind of props and they even made a way to get the sequined backdrop I wanted! My daughter's father and I surprised the couple with the photo booth. This surprise with a hit with the old and young guests. I love how Shawn was able to personalize the booth with the bride and groom's name and invitation theme. The photo strips are so much better as party favors than the boring candles, etc. The customer service was superb. Absolutely loved loved loved having Sean and Carolyn provide the photo booth at our wedding! They were EXTREMELY easy and fun to work with. We loved the photo strip design that Sean came up with, the props that came in our package, and the fact that their booth offers both color and black and white photo strip options. Our guests loved having something fun like this at the wedding, and we loved the photos as our guestbook. We only wish we made sure to spend more time in the booth!

Wow - they were amazing! Shawn and his wife did the personalized photo booth at my daughter's wedding and our guests had so much fun! Guests spent hours using the props to take memorable pictures. They could keep a copy and a copy went into a keepsake album for Michelle & Christian. Shawn and his wife even took the time to use blue and peach ribbons from the reception to decorate the last page of the keepsake album. It really added a special touch. They were so much fun and definitely added a festive tone to the reception. They were so easy to work with and I would highly recommend them to others!

We hired Shawn to be our wedding DJ after attending another wedding that he provided entertainment for. As a wedding photographer, I experience DJ's every weekend of my life, and Shawn is one of the best by far that I've ever had the pleasure of working with (and having as my own wedding DJ!). Boardwalk Photo Booth Company really is the best ever! I feel so lucky that they were available for my wedding! Not only is Shawn awesome, patient, and very easy to work with, he is very detail-oriented. They are worth every penny, and the scrapbook is such a fun keepsake! The props are fantastic! Everyone at the wedding had a blast in the photo booth, and most of our guests visited 3+ times. There was a line like you would normally see for amusement park rides! This was one of the best, and most fun and memorable, things that we could have had at our wedding. So glad we did this!

If you’re looking for a photo booth company that has an owner that does this part time and works out of their minivan, Boardwalk isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for someone who does this full time, has a store front, marked vans, great looking vintage photo booths, unbelievable props, custom made photo booth signage, scrapbook guest book, and photo strips, look no further. The scrapbook guest book with the crazy pictures and guest comments will be a cherished keepsake for years to come. There are a lot of companies out there and we talked with many of them. Shawn Cox... Uhhhhhhhhhmazing! He provided DJ and MC services for us and I was overwhelmed by the amazing service he provided us from our first meeting to even a follow up email after our wedding. My husband was a little leery about using a DJ just because he loves live music, but our first face to face meeting with Shawn with his amazing personality at his amazing office full of photobooths, arcade games, and 80s memorabilia had my husband sold ;-). Shawn even provided us a detailed questionnaire for our big day so he could get the feel of what music we liked and all the timeline details plus introductions (it made the day of flawless). Our ceremony and reception was set up to be inside at the same venue (Shawn was providing music for both) and a week before our wedding I called him to let him know we were switching our ceremony to the outdoor spot.... he had already figured out indoor setup, but let me know not to worry he would have everything figured out before the big day and it was a huge relief on our part. He was just so accommodating and relaxed it was a breath of fresh air during crunch time. Services provided during the ceremony and reception were OUTSTANDING!!! Perfect volume and set up for the music during the ceremony and perfect MCing and music choices during the reception! He was so fun, he kept the dance floor hoppin and was willing to stay as long as we wanted! We definitely, absolutely, recommend him for your big day :-)

Fantastic. My wedding was in Moseley, VA but Boardwalk caught my eye because of the design of the photo booth. There are so many cheap companies that put up a curtain and call it a photo booth. Boardwalk is so much more than that. Shawn is wonderful and easy to work with. They customize the sign on the booth and on the photo strip as part of the package. They provided the props and there was a nice variety all of which were clean (at a couple bridal shows I saw photo booth props that made me squirm and sanitize). I am so glad we decided to do a photo booth for our wedding and specifically I am so thankful I found Boardwalk. I love the guestbook with all of the strips from the wedding, and I also love that you can access all of the photos online. Highly recommend and highly pleased!

So I typically don't fill these things out but I felt it was my duty to do so experiencing how EXPENSIVE WEDDINGS ARE these days! I'm very passionate about music and wanted a live band for our wedding but My Wife felt it best not to do so. We went with a band for cocktail hour and Boardwalk Photo Booth for the DJ/Announcer. He nailed. We talked briefly about how I wanted the music to go and what could/couldn't be played and the genre of music we love and he nailed it the entire time. Never a dull moment and he even got the people that never move to get out of their chairs to0 "bust a move"! If you are in need of a DJ, check him out. He has Photo Booths, old school arcade games, and more. We had 180 at our wedding and I’d say 160 danced the majority of the time. Great company with great service!

They are worth the price. My guest loved this, and I love the photobook they put together for us. This was one of the most enjoyed parts of my wedding, and all of my guests used it. They were professional and gave us a high quality product.

Shawn was our DJ for our wedding on 11/21/15 @ the Williamsburg Winery. He was AWESOME! My husband and I met Shawn a few months before the wedding and we instantly knew he was the DJ for us. He has such a fun and laid back personality. Shawn was great about checking up on us throughout the planning process and even emailed us some homework to make sure everything was ready to go for the big day. The day of the wedding arrived and everything went off without a hitch! Shawn was so well organized and the flow of music throughout the entire night was great. One of my fears was that the dance floor would be empty and Shawn made sure that did not happen! He played a great variety of music that had everyone out on the dance floor for the entire night. My dad was even out on the floor and I've never seen him dance! My husband and I have been married for a little over a week now and we are still getting compliments from our guests on how much fun they had at our wedding. My wife and I used Boardwalk Photo Booth Company for our wedding last summer and we were very pleased with our experience. First of all Shawn, the owner of the company, is great to work with. He is very friendly and responds immediately to emails/phone calls. He also spent time designing a logo specific for our wedding theme that was used for both the photo booth sign and our scrapbook. It is obvious that Shawn cares and is passionate about his job. Courtney and Drew who worked the photo booth the day of the wedding were also very professional and fun. The photo booth itself was a huge hit (especially with my nephew who probably accounted for ½ of the pictures in our scrapbook). Finally, we love the scrapbook we got from the photo booth. It looks nice and it’s a fun way to relive the memories of our special day. In my opinion, it’s a lot more fun looking at photos of our friends and family wearing costumes and making silly faces than looking at “traditional” wedding albums. It just seemed to capture the spirit of the day and the way we remembered it more accurately.

As the mother of the bride for our daughter’s June 2015 wedding, we helped the bride and groom plan the reception. Being a retired 28 year Air Force family, we had moved 14 times over the years, so all those moves brought many of our loved ones from the four corners of America. We wanted a DJ and Photo Booth company to create an event that would bring all of these people together on the dance floor…we all wanted to dance the night away celebrating Kayla and Dean! Shawn Cox was our DJ for the night and we cannot say enough. The evening was purposefully spread out so that the important events of the night (cake, toasts, garter, special dances) were all spread out without feeling like it was planned. Shawn captured the guests and we are elated to have pictures of our guests dancing with people they had never met before! The photo booth pictures and album turned out amazing…and your staff running the booth were so friendly and professional…it was a hit as we kept seeing the lines and laughing friends and family going back for seconds, that was a fun part of the night. Shawn, have a true talent at keeping your crowd engaged. The photo booth staff worked so hard in making sure all the guests had a great time, and even made sure our senior guests were able to get in and out of the photo booth while laughing away! It was a great touch presenting the bride and groom with an album of all the photo booth photos. We laughed at how many of our guests were taking photos with people they had just met for the first time! We have been to weddings where the bride and groom were disappointed that their pre arranged play list was not used and the night was not “theirs.” Thank you for making the night perfect. We talked about how we never felt rushed and that the spacing of announcing each event during the night was perfectly spaced out even down to the last song. You have a gift Shawn, anyone who contracts with you will be so pleased.

DEFINITELY WORTH IT! Our guests loved this photo booth at our winter wedding at the Half Moone in Norfolk, VA. Super affordable and Shawn Cox knew how to make our guests comfortable to take as many pics as they wanted! Receiving our photo book at the end was icing on the cake.

Shawn, Carolyn and there team were absolutely more amazing than I ever could have imagined! Their service and dedication to making my wedding amazing was more than I could have asked for! Planning my wedding as my fiancé was deployed for 9 months, I was a mess and they made the process of booking their company a breeze! As I ran across various wedding planning hiccups, the Boardwalk Photo Booth Team was more than accommodating in our partnership and planning. As for their execution the night of the wedding, to say they made my night is truly an understatement. They continued to be an amazing service provider. As a freak series of snow storms hit the week leading up to the big day, Boardwalk still transitioned all of their equipment up icy stairs and ramps to make sure I had the wedding of my dreams. They treated all of my family and friends with the upmost respect, including those in attendance of my wedding with special needs. Their professionalism throughout the entire planning process will never be beat in my eyes. I will continue to use Boardwalk for any big events I hold as well as continue to recommend them to all of my friends and family who will be holding events as well. Boardwalk Photo Booth and DJ Shawn Cox - a package deal that made our wedding complete. When we were thinking about who to hire for our wedding, Shawn was recommended to us by two separate people, and we could not be more thankful! We had already emailed Shawn about a photo booth, and set up a meeting with him. We knew immediately that we wanted to hire him, he is laid back and easy to talk with. He listened to all the things we didn't want - a cheesy, game show host calling out line dances, and promised us the opposite. And he did MORE than deliver. Our wedding dance floor was never empty, and he was able to satisfy all our guests with a variety of music that didn't dull our eardrums. He mixed in EDM for my husband, some classic Hip-hop and emo hits from the 90's for us both, country for the relatives, and current popular songs for the whole lot. He was funny, and interpreted my "looks" amazingly! If you are lucky enough to be one of the few weddings he does each year - consider yourself BLESSED! We also loved our Photo Booth, Shawn made sure it stayed busy all night and our guest book with all the pictures is still making us laugh! Great package pricing, and a wonderful addition for all our guests! We may be biased, but Boardwalk was the best!

Shawn was absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. My (now) husband and I were planning our wedding remotely from San Francisco, and Shawn was not only responsive, helpful, and professional, but also very personable which made him a pleasure to work with. Honestly, using the photo booth was the best decision we made! Everyone LOVED it, and we were able to capture great moments with and of our guests. As a bride it is very easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of your wedding day, so having the photo booth pictures was a great way to see all of the guests in action. The best part was that my guests were absolutely in AWE over the costume options and they literally could not get enough. The company makes you a personalized book with your photo strips from the night and your guests can also write messages in it! It is such a wonderful keepsake. Shawn, the owner, is one of the most helpful people I worked with, and he is also very nice. To sum it all up- DO IT! IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY!

for my November wedding I knew I wanted something fun and different for my guests to do. I originally went to him for a photo booth but during our meeting I learned he had been a DJ for several years with another well known company. The photo-booth was such a hit at our wedding. Our guests loved it! It was such a great way to get a wonderful guest book. We loved looking thru all the funny pictures! We used The Boardwalk Photo Booth Company for our first daughter’s wedding and they were the first vendor we booked for the second daughter’s wedding. Carolyn and Katie were awesome! They were extremely professional and very personable. Everyone had such a good time…there was always a line of guests waiting to use the photo booth, but they never rushed anyone and made sure every guest felt special. This time we used magnets for the photo strips as favors and Shawn was very helpful in answering questions we had concerning the photo strip sizes. As always, the scrapbook was one of the favorite mementos from the wedding. It was so much fun to see our guests having such a good time. We can’t say enough good things about this company and we certainly will be using them again!
