Hi there, I’m Linnie and this is Bohemia Events + Design
I’ve been planning weddings for over six years now, and I’ve had the planning bug since the moment I decided to get married in 2011. I’ve now planned more than 50 awesome weddings and because quality is so important to me, I exclusively take 10 super fun clients per calendar year. If you think you might be one of them, let’s talk!

The philosophy behind Bohemia is so simple. We are WILD romantics and WILD for our clients.
We find joy in setting your wedding way above the rest, and do so by understanding that being different is a damn good thing. We take pride in our honest love for every unique and creative couple that let us into their one-of-a-kind wedding days.
We believe that love should always celebrated in style, but it should never be complicated. Love is love; we are allies and magic makers, and we believe that every single human deserves an incredible wedding day.
At Bohemia Events + Design, we elevate the contemporary wedding planning experience with our fun-loving nature. We are devoted lovers of fluffy floral blooms, brunching so hard, all dogs, all day, and we promise to never shy away from all things colorful, timeless and out of the box.

Linnie was our guiding light through the most tumultuous of years to plan a wedding — a true ride or die! First of all, if you are looking for a unique, colorful wedding that feels like YOU and not just a copy of something you saw on Pinterest, work with Linnie, full stop. She is so innovative and creative, and she got us thinking about what we wanted from our wedding in ways we otherwise wouldn't have. As a result, it felt so personal, beautiful, and true to us. Trust her creative process because she is an incredibly talented designer and stylist, not just a planner. That said, her planning expertise is not to be understated — she held our hand through the covid struggle with two canceled wedding dates (three entirely separate dates planned total), kept our spirits up, and never once let us lose sight of the fun, happy silver linings even when planning in a pandemic felt almost impossible. When it finally came together, it was the best day we could have ever imagined and that was all thanks to Linnie. The morning after, we were sooo sad that we wouldn't be working with her anymore — she's so down to earth, funny, creative and wonderful. The exact type of person you want by your side to bring a wedding to life, and the best bonus guest to have there on the day. Tempted to plan another wedding just to get some more of her magic... :) Don't hesitate with this one!
Working to plan our wedding with Linnie was a pleasure! She took the time to understand our needs. Linnie was always honest, prompt, knowledgeable, and provided beautiful ideas for our wedding day. I cannot recommend Linnie and her team at Bohemia Events + Design enough! Choosing a wedding planner for one of the biggest and most memorable days can be an overwhelming process. From the minute we met Linnie, I knew we were in good hands. Linnie was excellent about listening to our vision for the day, our priorities, what was important to us and man did she deliver. Trusting someone with your wedding day is so hard because it is such an emotional day, but Linnie and all of her vendors were truly amazing. Every single vendor she recommended just blew us away with quality, design, customer service and compatibility for our vision. Our wedding day came together like a dream! Linnie is so good at what she does that we were able to really enjoy and be present in the day and not stress over the details. There are SO many things that happened behind the scenes seamlessly thanks to Linnie that I am eternally grateful for! If you want someone with impeccable style, the skill to bring your vision to life and an all-together wonderful person to work with, I would recommend Linnie again and again!
Bohemia Events + Design is truly a DREAM of a wedding planner!! With the hottest day of the year in D.C. and a weather forecast that changed every five minutes, she remained calm, cool, and collected! Her attention to detailand eye for beauty helped create the most beautiful wedding! And goodness, she KNOWS her wedding vendors.. I truly think the best of the best were at this wedding , and it was the most amazing, creative, and perfect day! But what I appreciated most about her wedding planning style was how much she truly cared about the bride and groom! Her top priority was making sure their day was not only exactly what they envisioned, but was stress-free, well-organized, and thoroughly enjoyed by each of them! If you’re considering a wedding planner, Linnie is your person!! And I was just the MOH!
I am so beyond grateful we found Linnie! She gave us the most perfect, beautiful wedding day. We went with her full planning services, and it was seriously the best decision we made. She paired us with the absolutely BEST vendors that fit with our style and vision for the day. She listened to everything we wanted, and directed us when we were (constantly) indecisive. I was not one of those brides who knew what she wanted, but I did think I knew what I didn't want, and Linnie really helped me organize my thoughts (often changing my mind - and she was right!) She honored exactly what we wanted, gently nudged us to rethink a few things (thank goodness!), and advised us on the million things we hadn't thought of. My husband and I are *slight* control freaks, and she handled our constant questions and requests so gracefully. She handled all of the vendor communications, so we were able to be really calm in the weeks leading up to the wedding. And the wedding day went SO SMOOTHLY! Linnie took care of everything both before and afterwards, so my husband and I were just able to relax and enjoy the day. If anything went wrong, we didn't hear about it. We just had the most incredible, beautiful day. Thank you, Linnie!!
Linnie is incredible! There is no other way to say it! I wish I could give her 100 stars. Linnie worked with me throughout the year of my engagement planning my wedding. We met countless times to discuss any concerns I was having and anything I was really nervous about. She constantly was my rock and stayed so calm under the pressure. Linnie worked through her pregnancy and giving birth to her son all the while planning my wedding and talking to vendors. She and her team were my constant support and calm through my wedding weekend. I went through my wedding day without stress because of her. Linnie was truly a blessing to us throughout our wedding. I can't recommend her enough!
I can't speak highly enough of Linnie and L&L Events! Shortly after getting engaged I realized that wedding planning was way over my head, so I searched and searched for a planner to help me, Linnie was the only one who reached out to me right away and from the very beginning to the very end made me feel taken care of! She is absolutely a professional as well as a very friendly, personable, and down to earth kind of person. It took my fiance and I forever to figure out our date and venue we just kept bouncing around ideas, and through it all Linnie was so helpful and professional, she found us the most BEAUTIFUL wedding venue (48 Fields, in Leesburg, VA on May 6th 2017). What I love so much about my experience with Linnie and L&L Events is the length she went to to make sure that every detail was right, and that her bride and groom were taken care of. She sent me a beautiful ribbon of my wedding color scheme to use in my bouquet, just because! And she would never hesitate to call me or even meet with me personally if I needed to talk about anything regarding the wedding. On the day of our wedding she made sure that hot food was brought right to us during the reception. I could not recommend her enough. My husband and I would have never been able to pull off such a perfect wedding without her! Her organization and ability to keep a literal army of vendors and people organized was what really allowed me to enjoy the process and enjoy our special day! Linnie and L&L Events are phenomenal!
If you are a bride or groom considering hiring a wedding planner, I can almost guarantee that you will need one. So DO IT! But not just any wedding planner, you need Linnie! Linnie is absolutely amazing at what she does. She’s the perfect balance of professional and fun. And that’s what planning a wedding is supposed to be, fun!
Throughout the process of planning my wedding, it felt as if I had a friend helping me with everything rather than just a wedding vendor. Linnie really listened to what my vision was, even when it changed a couple times along the way. She coordinated meetings, emails, and even met with me multiple times to make sure I was on track with everything. It completely took the guesswork out of the whole process! Not to mention that the two weeks leading up to my wedding was the MOST stressful and I was just SO happy to have Linnie there helping. I nearly lost my mind trying to come up with a schedule on my own that coordinated all of the different vendor arrivals, only to have Linnie assure me that she had it already taken care of. Thank God! So when it came to the big day, all I had to do was wake up, get in my limo, marry my best friend, and have fun! It really was such a perfect and special day and it wouldn’t have come together so perfectly without Linnie’s help throughout the entire process. So trust me when I say, hiring Linnie will be the best decision you ever make (besides marrying your best friend haha). ALSO, shout out to her awesome husband, SkipperFilms, who was my wedding videographer! They are truly the dynamic wedding duo!
We hired Linnie from L & L events for the complete planning package and it was one of the best decisions we could've made. We were new to the area and really benefited from her knowledge about vendors and locations, she helped us with our vision and really made our day truly amazing. She was there with us every step of the way and helped us through all the (minor) hurdles that appeared in our planning process. We felt like she really cared about us and our wedding and we 100% believe that she really made a difference on how magical our day felt, and was for us and our friends and family. I recommend her and her team wholeheartedly.
Linnie was truly incredible to work with. As someone who has never been involved with planning a wedding before, I felt overwhelmed with the entire process until I hired Linnie. She guided me through the entire process, helped me find a vision for the wedding and managed every aspect of our actual wedding day. She was so easy to work with, and I felt like she was really looking out for what was best for me and my husband on our wedding day. Both my mother and MIL were initially skeptical about hiring a wedding planner, however, by the day of the wedding, they both couldn't stop talking about how glad they were that we hired Linnie. My husband and I were able to really just relax and enjoy our wedding day and know that Linnie and her team had things under control. The entire L&L team were delightful, professional and so incredibly helpful. Thank you Linnie!
Bride and Groom,
I'd like to introduce you to Linnie and L&L events. My (now) wife and I were married in DuPont Circle, Washington, DC in early November 2016 and Linnie crushed it!
Agile. As you can imagine, weddings do not always go exactly as planned no matter how much planning, preparation, and experience involved. There is always some exogenous force that pops up such as changing weather, a DJ that isn't on her/his game, etc. Linnie took care of these types of issues for us so that my wife and I could enjoy time with our friends and family. Ideal!
Execution. She would check in every 1-1.5 hours for about 20 seconds or so. I don't know if that is her plan, but it was great for me as a groom and making sure the event was great for my bride to enjoy her day. We were updated on things going well, on what was coming up next, she would suggest small adjustments for our "blessing", etc. And in between updates, she always seemed to be within reach when need be. Perfect!
Above and beyond. Our wedding was not just an event, not just a ceremony, not even just a celebration ... our wedding is a lifetime memory of our love. L&L helped make that a possibility.

L&L are hands-down the.BEST. They have an amazing eye for design, colors, decorations, and they come up with the greatest ideas that made our vow-renewal completely unique! Our guests were blown away by the fun ideas L&L gave us, like a Donut bar, Wet Plate Photo Booth (old civil war style photos since our event was at the Winery at Bull Run), the Thank you card station, and the various antique furniture Linnie personally picked out. Totally amazing, and no, you can't do this all yourself. Do yourselves a favor, talk to these amazing ladies about your big day!
Linnie was so amazing to work with. I had an outdoor wedding planned and it quickly changed to an indoor wedding (at a different location) and having to rethink how things were going to be setup. She made the venue look gorgeous and perfect for the ceremony and reception and had 2 days to make it happen! She understood my vision which was very important to me. I cannot thank her and L&L Events enough for all the hard work they did for us to make our day special and perfect!
My husband and I can't thank Linnie enough for helping to make our wedding day perfect! We had a pretty long engagement and we were in contact with Linnie from the very beginning. She helped to keep us organized with every detail. We thoroughly enjoyed the planning process because of her.
When our wedding day finally came, everyone around me kept commenting on how calm I was. That's because I had full trust in Linnie to execute all of the details. Not only did she execute......she went above and beyond our expectations! She is courteous, detail-oriented and kept things running smoothly from rehearsal to ceremony to reception. As a DIY bride, I had so many little details that I'd planned. Linnie brought all of my ideas together and allowed me to sit back and enjoy my own wedding. We couldn't have done it without Linnie!
We knew Linnie was the coordinator for us after our first meeting! She is super sweet and an awesome listener. We had a small budget and she worked with it to give us what we wanted. What I loved most about Linnie is that she listened to what my husband and I wanted for our wedding and she stood up for us when other vendors or opinions were trying to overstep us. We also had an issue with communication from the DJ and she solved it! Linnie helped make my wedding planning and event stress free! I would recommend her to any bride and groom! She helped make our old hollywood themed wedding, classic and beautiful!
I hired Linnie from L&L events to assist with day of wedding coordination. I had created, hired, and organized our wedding but about a month before the date I realized we needed help on the wedding day. I knew I couldn't be everywhere at once on such a special day and I needed that peace of mind. Thank God I hired Linnie! Every vendor I hired was wonderful and produced as expected except our caterer. The problems are too many to list but Linnie was the front person dealing with all of the issues. I can't even imagine how our reception would have turned out if she and her assistant had not been there. In addition to the day of coordination she meet with me for an initial consultation, at the ceremony and reception site to go over details, and was very prompt with replying to my various questions and emails. Most importantly she stayed after we the reception and took care of everything so we could leave without concern. She gave me her personal phone number and assured we would be her priority in the days leading up to our wedding. She also sent an email to our caterer with supportive documentation regarding our issues. It was nice to know she was there to support us in every way. I wish I had found her earlier because her positive attitude and creativity is wonderful. Her prices are reasonable and I would not hesitate in hiring Linnie.
I was originally on the fence about needing a wedding planner, as I intended on having a very small and intimate ceremony. After doing some research and meeting with Linnie, I realized how much I needed one! There were so many details- I can only imagine how stressful it would have been to coordinate everything without her.
Linnie was so great at conceptualizing what we wanted for our big day. She had the best ideas about venues, officiants, flowers, the cake, decorations, favors, etc. I was a very picky bride- I wanted my ceremony and reception to be elegant, tasteful and unique to me and my husband. Linnie went above and beyond to make that happen.
For a wedding of our size (less than 20 people) she was still able to secure vendors that would accommodate a cake and flowers on a smaller scale. She was very quick with these details, you can tell she knows her way around the local vendors!
My greatest concern was our venue. We expected a lot more foliage in mid April, and really had our hearts set on getting married outside. With only 10 days before the wedding, we were realizing our initial venue wasn't going to work. All the trees were completely bare. I was so worried about how are wedding pictures would turn out. Linnie did her research and came across a beautiful winery in Middleburg. Because of this, our day was perfection. It was so romantic, and the rolling hills in the background were nice and green :)
I could not be more pleased with Linnie's work. She put in a lot of effort- I never had to wait around for answers about details. Instead, she would regularly reach out to me with new ideas. It showed me that she was constantly working on our wedding without me having to ask the status of things. Then, there is the heart she put into it. She really listened to mine and my husband's needs and wants for our wedding, and she delivered. On the day of the wedding, she was the first to arrive and the last to leave. I HIGHLY recommend Linnie!
Linnie and I worked together to plan our wedding in September 2014. From the very beginning she was able to see my vision for our barn wedding and was excited about the details while being extremely professional, organized and really helping to expand on my ideas.
Her communication was always on point and she was quick to respond to e-mails and to serve as a middle person between our wedding venue and me...she definitely helped take the stress off of me and my husband!
I was so thankful for her during the days before our wedding as she continued to meet with me and the florist and our venue to work through the final details. She also assisted with all the venue prep the day before the wedding and helped hang lights, set up props and make sure she understood the flow of the day.
Our wedding day was absolutely flawless and seamless...which is exactly what every bride needs. There was even a point during our reception where a guest needed to be taken to the hospital and I had no idea because Linnie handled it so well behind the scenes. She checked in with my husband and I throughout the evening to make sure we were fed and happy but she wasn't overbearing at all.
Linnie is fabulous and I would sing her praises over and over again! We've since moved out of the area but if we were in Maryland I wouldn't hesitate at all to use her for our parties and birthdays. She's extremely bright, funny, focused and dedicated to helping you have the most beautiful wedding or event...the best!
I found this vendor through Wedding Wire when looking for a day of wedding coordinator to help me set up for my reception. I went to the company’s web site and submitted a request for information. In this request I explained that my ceremony will be held at my church and my reception at a local venue. This particular venue only allows set up 2 hours prior to the reception. Well this would be when I am walking down the aisle. I asked to meet with someone to assist me in quoting services to help oversee vendor set up, setting out centerpieces, pictures, place cards and so forth. I was also requesting a quote for someone to stay throughout the reception to make sure things ran smoothly.
I got a quick e-mail response from Lucy who was kind and friendly working with my schedule to set up a meeting date. The day of our meeting which was set for 9:30 I arrived at Starbucks at 9:20 as I like to be early. I got coffee and sat by myself until 9:45 I sent her a e-mail stating I was at Starbucks and then a few minutes later texted her to see if she was on her way. 30 min after the appointment time at 10:00am I got a call from Lucy stating that she had switched phones and calendars and forgot about our meeting. She mentioned that she was at the doctor’s office with her son when I had tried to contact her as he was sick. I always feel that family comes first and was glad that she was able to care for her son but forgetting our appointment is unacceptable. All I would have asked for was a quick text stating that we needed to reschedule.
Due to my busy schedule I typed out what I was looking for in services and e-mailed this to her. Her response was that I needed to answer a list of her questions and explained that her services are 8 hour days ect. (this can be found on the website). I stated that in my original inquiry I was only looking for reception services and assisting setting up and was wondering if there is anything they offer outside of their package deal.
"No, that's not at all what we offer. We are an event Planning & Coordinating company, not labor for hire. I would suggest you ask the venue if they have extra employees you can hire for the day.
Good luck with everything!"

"I appreciate you clarifying. I would not have wasted your time or mine if I had known this. In my initial contact with your company I spelled out the situation I was facing with set up and the type of assistance I needed for the day of. I feel at that point you should have mentioned my needs were not a fit for your company. Several other companies that offer the same "day of coordination services" are more than willing to assist me in what I need. I was just pricing around to make the best decision for my wedding. They also give average pricing prior to the initial meeting which was helpful. I have also had the respect of them honoring and respecting my time by attending set meeting times and treating me as a individual not just another bride that fits into the package they offer. I understand your business is new but I would consider looking at your model for communicating with clients as to what you offer."
To which she replied "Those are your issues not mine. Our website is pretty clear. Good luck with every thing."
This left a very sour taste in my mouth so much I thought I needed to share. All I was looking for was a average quote and if her company met the needs I was looking for.
