Botanika

What a nightmare. At first I really liked Melissa; she was friendly and seemed to be accommodating. She provided a quote and told me 50% was due to hold the spot. I paid the deposit and worked with her on plans. While working with her, I came across several negative reviews and was surprised - why were her reviews so strong on the Knot? After seeing some of the pictures of her arrangements, I worried she would not be capable of creating the arrangements I had in mind. So I decided to request individual stems and create bud vase arrangements myself. I expected the quote to come in under what she had initially provided, after all, she wasn’t doing any labor outside placing an order anymore. When I got the quote back, each stem was between $6 - $11. I thought that seemed steep considering she quoted $65 for centerpieces when we did our original order. She told me flower growers were going out of business left and right and that’s why the cost was so high. I was still skeptical so I looked online and called a couple other florists with strong reviews in her area for quotes. They came in at half the cost, if not a third the cost. I asked her about this and she said their flowers must be low quality. I asked her to look at other wholesalers to see if she could get a better price somewhere else, she refused. After feeling fed up, and a little screwed over, I requested a refund so I could work with a different vendor. She told me she didn’t do refunds. Lots of wedding vendors don’t do refunds so I understood, but when I tried to find a contract/agreement, I realized I didn’t have one on record. I asked her to provide a copy of it and she evaded the request. When I pressed, she tried to pull verbiage from a Privacy Policy, which, for those who don’t know, only covers how companies manage your data when using their website, and twisted it (took it completely out of context) to tell me it was proof that if I used her website we were under contract, pretty slimy. The arrangements we received were actually quite nice, but that’s easy to do with more premium flowers. The boutonnières looked nothing like what I requested. The eucalyptus was half bug bitten. The mums were all rotten - that’s about 25 rotten flowers. And she did not give me the privot berries in my order. I reached out to her to see if she’d be willing to do anything to make it right and she has not responded three weeks later.

Melissa was wonderful in every way - she was our florist as well as our day-of coordinator. My flowers were beautiful, from the bouquets to the centerpieces. As our coordinator, she was the reason our day flowed so smoothly. Leading up to the big day, she was extremely organized, quick to respond, and extremely knowledgeable about the entire process! So thankful that we worked with Melissa - it made all the difference.

From the florals, decor, to day of coordination, everything was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Melissa and her team went above and beyond! I can’t speak highly enough about Botanika! Words truly can’t do them justice. Everything was beautiful. We had a small hiccup with the officiant we acquired on our own and he ended up not being certified in our state. We didn’t realize this until after the ceremony. Melissa and her team had a solution in less than 10 minutes! The experience is something I will forever be grateful for!

Melissa was very nice and always responded quickly. The only thing is my bridal portrait bouquet was so much better than my actual wedding bouquet. Before the big day I had told her I wanted my wedding bouquet with more succulents and less of these flowers that kept falling on my dress during the bridal photo shoot - but to keep everything the same. When I received my bouquet the day of it was pretty much the opposite of what I had asked with a lot of pink flowers, which was not in our color scheme and to be honest I’m not a huge fan of pink. Wish that was the end of it, but just as I was about to walk down the aisle my bouquet breaks off of the handle! I know you’re not suppose to curse in church, but I couldn’t help myself. The only thing I could do was dig my nails into the bottom of the bouquet and keep it moving. I had also ask for this hanging greener piece that would hang over our welcome sign in the front... instead what I got was a couple of branches with some greener tied together that didn’t hang over the sign at all... instead it was just stuck in between the easel. (keep in mind, I did give her a photo of what I wanted to look like). Don’t get me wrong she does great work, I just feel there should have more communication if there was any confusion.

Wow, just wow! Melissa and her team exceeded my floral expectations. She nailed the colors perfectly, all of her decor was in perfect condition and she is as kind as can be. We had to make many changes and she was able to meet everyone. I would recommend her again and again! Thank you for making our day so beautiful Melissa!

Melissa always responded in a timely manner and her prices were reasonable. On the day of the wedding, the flowers were delivered on time. All the flowers were beautiful EXCEPT my bouquet! It was a mix of white roses and these very sad, wilted forget-me-nots. In hindsight, I wish I had taken pics from the Internet to show her. Since I didn't do that, I wish I had taken a pair of scissors to the bouquet and cut out all the wilted flowers. I didn't do that either so now I have this sad bouquet in all my wedding photos. Keep in mind that, whatever your bouquet looks like, it will show up in a LOT of your pics.

I don’t even know where to begin. Melissa has gone above and beyond with the most intricate, and delicate parts of my special day. From the first day we spoke, I knew I wanted my floral arrangements to be done by Botanika. She has such a pleasant and warm personality. She understood my vision better than I could put into words. Mother nature has the last word and Melissa was flexible and determined to express our love story through her arrangements. Everything was perfect from the bouquets, boutonnieres, dining table centerpieces, and large-scale arrangements! I was stunned at how beautiful everything turned out. Thank you so much!

Melissa was so easy to work with in planning the flower arrangements for our son's rehearsal dinner in San Antonio! This was especially important since I was planning from Virginia. I provided some pictures of the type of arrangement I wanted and Melissa did the rest! We were very pleased with all the table arrangements, as well as the other arrangements we used on the photo table and in the patio area. Everything was beautiful and the flowers were very fresh, and were delivered to the venue exactly as we had requested!

Botanika came recommended to us as a florist. Melissa was easy to communicate with. She listened to our preferences and gave suggestions to help guide us. Our arrangements were spectacular: bright with color, fresh and beautifully arranged. My daughter wanted to limit the number of cut flowers. Melissa suggested succelents which we have now planted and are a reminder of my daughter’s event. Botanika also offers Planning Packages. DO NOT pass up this service! We chose to have Melissa provide us with “Day Of” planning. Do NOT be fooled by the words “Day Of”. Six to 8 weeks prior, she met with me at our venue. She offered suggestions, made detailed notes. Several weeks ahead of our event, I contacted Melissa concerend about our Rehearsal and how that would proceed. Reminded that she would be there to run it, a tremendous weight was lifted. Melissa assisted with questions and issues that arose as the event day drew near. She saw to the delivery, set-up. The weekend of my daughter’s wedding was Wonderful. I feel that I was able to relax and really enjoy the day. Melissa was present throughout our event and saw to its flow.

Melissa was so easy to work with and created a “magazine picture-worthy” event for us! A true professional with a great eye for detail!

I have to say that Botanika never disappoints. This shop has the best suggestions and are very creative when it comes to a custom centerpiece. All the florals are absolutely beautiful and that staff are very personable and professional. Highly recommend!

It took the first 5 minutes of my initial phone call with Melissa to know that I wanted my wedding florals to be done by Botanika. Melissa interpreted exactly what I was envisioning, despite my lack of knowledge in florals and vague description of color scheme; my words were "all of the colors except for blue and purple". I wanted things to be bright! Communication with Melissa was very prompt, she worked very closely with me from 150 miles away, and was also genuinely kind and excited for me! Finally meeting her on my wedding day felt like seeing an old friend! *This is the florist you want to work with!*

Overall Melissa from Botanika was a great addition to my wedding vendor team. My floral arrangements were absolutely gorgeous and her coordinating skills really helped my day run smoothly. Sometimes I felt that her professionalism could improve. However overall I was very impressed with her performance.

I cannot say enough to express how happy we are with Melissa being our florist and event planner! She was extremely professional, polite, and very organized. I’m so glad that we chose to use her as our wedding coordinator as well—it was worth every penny! She kept in contact with all of our other vendors and made sure everybody was on the same page and provided a very detailed and organized timeline for our rehearsal and wedding day. Her assistant was also awesome throughout the actual wedding, making sure we had everything we needed and that things ran smoothly. My husband and I were able to enjoy our wedding and she definitely put me at ease with wedding planning. The floral arrangements were absolutely gorgeous and I’m still getting compliments two weeks later. If you do not choose Botanika for your floral and wedding coordination, you are doing yourself a disservice. She is the best in the business!

I loved everything about Botanika! Melissa, owner, floral designs are absolutely stunning! Aside from being extremely nice, and so very professional she made sure every detail of our floral needs for my daughter’s wedding was addressed. She met with us and asked every question about the wedding, colors, style of wedding dress, etc. In doing so, she was able to design on paper what my daughter envisioned her wedding floral ideas ... bouquet, tables arrangements, etc. Melissa was also able to tell us what floral arrangements/ placements we should focus on that were more visually and economically best . Thus, eliminating excess cost which was very helpful. A couple of times, we needed to make changes and Melissa was quick to reply and always accommodating. Melissa has an eye and skill for floral design that best matches any venue, color, budget, and Bride! The best part was arriving at the venue and seeing all the floral decorations delivered, arranged and placed without us having to worry about having to do any of that. Melissa was always so encouraging , calm and reassuring throughout the process. I would highly recommend Botanika to any Bride and her mom. ❤️

As a consumer, I'm interested in good products and service. Melissa hit the mark in both of these areas...please don't think twice or hesitate to call her whenever I need to be sure that I'm getting the best of products and services. Thank you for your great customer service that listens to it's client and translates to reality the ideas we wanted to express. I have no idea how many times my wife called but I know Melissa was so gracious and patient.

My husband and I were married on 9/23/17 and Melissa did our floral arrangements for our church and reception. She did a wonderful job! Everything was exactly what we had spoken about and perfectly created! I loved that Melissa took the time to really listen to me and get a feel for my style and the look I was going for. Further, she was able to work within my budget which I greatly appreciated. I feel you cannot go wrong with Botanika!

We called last minute for flowers and Melissa understood exactly what we wanted and the flowers were perfect! Couldn't ask for more.

Every time I think of my wedding, this is the one thing I’m disappointed in. A lot of my flowers were already turning brown when they were picked up. My bouquet had lavender flowers instead of blush, which threw off everything. Not to mention, the wedding day bouquet was VERY different from my bridal portrait bouquet (that she made) and what my contract stated I would be getting. Not to mention, they both had wilting flowers that just kept falling apart. Both of the flower crowns she made for me were NOTHING like what I wanted even though after the first one she assured us she’d get it right. While she was nice, I definitely would recommend going with someone else, unfortunately.

I was just looking for a florist but Melissa was more than that and great at everything related to my wedding. She exceeded my expectations and was so sweet, professional and caring. She made my floral ideas come to life with brilliance. I was nervous to ask about other small details such as linens, decor arrangements, timing but with her experience and advice with the wedding went so smooth. The venue was transform with her touch to that no one in my or his family could complain about anything. Melissa (Botanika) is someone I would work with again in a heartbeat! Not being from San Antonio I was at a loss when choosing my florist. When i met Melissa and saw the beauty of her work, design, and above all her high attention to detail I knew i had to have her talents at our wedding! We worked with a specific budget... what she delivered was more than what my imagination could have her dreamt possible! She made my fairy tale wedding possible. Unfortunately, I could not have my mother present... Melissa stepped up not only as my florist, but more so as a friend. For that, I am forever grateful! Melissa and her team are amazing, and if you're looking for perfection and beauty you have found it with Botanika. Thank you Melissa !!

If you are a bride looking for a dependable florist who understands your vision than please look elsewhere than Botanika.I met Melissa at a bridal show and was intrigued by her discount that she offered. I requested a very neutral palette, with very subtle hints of blushes and light peaches, whites and lots and lots of greenery. I provided numerous photo examples. In our contract, it stated a combination of peonies, hydrangeas, and stock, Baby's Breath and greenery. In my bouquet, it was mostly roses and bright pinks and bright oranges. She says she will give you a toss bouquet as a complimentary service, but she forgot mine in our order as well as failing to deliver my mother's corsage and father's boutonnière. She claims she left them on a back table but nobody saw it. For my flowers to Mary for our Catholic ceremony, they are supposed to be red roses (as also stated in our contract) but instead she provided left over bright pink roses from my bouquet. When it came time to final payments she made a mistake and over charged me almost $300. Instead of cancelling the charge or refunding the credit, she said she was going to "mail me a check". I provided her our address and it never came before the wedding, and still now have not received a refund almost a month later. My bridesmaids said that their flowers were noticeably brown and one said her arrangement was falling apart. It really is a disappointment to have to review your wedding pictures and have flowers that you did not want as apart of your day after spending thousands of dollars. As nice as Melissa is as a person, I do not believe she was fully capable of delivering professional quality floral services that you absolutely need for your wedding. I implore you to keep browsing for a different vendor who has the capability to make your wedding as picture perfect as you want and work so hard for it to be.

We loved all the floral centerpieces, bridesmaid bouquets, and my bridal bouquet. 💐. Melissa made the ceremony site just as beautiful with 2 CEREMONY flower/plant arrangements. Thank you for delivering our flowers to the venue. Everything was just as we discussed. And I will definitely come to you for any floral arrangements I may need in the future. 😊 R+C

Very disappointed with this vendor every time I think about my wedding. So much so I have pushed off writing a review and revisiting the upset but my wedding is done and yours has just begun, and is why I need to write this. I got married October 15th at Lost Mission. A Beautiful venue. I hired Botanika because my wedding planner recommended them and when I met the owner I felt comfortable that she knew my vision. I gave her pictures of the decor and most importantly I gave her my color scheme. She tried to encourage green and I did not want any green. My colors were fall, oranges, browns, golds, maroons, reds, yellows. On my wedding day it was flowing with green foliages. Everywhere! Furthermore, I asked for a lantern on every other pew down the aisle and I got 4, 2 on each side. I asked for a fall tree in the entry to the chapel and a smaller tree on the sign-in table, they were missing. When I asked her for reimbursement she swore they were there and she would send me pictures. I waited. No pictures and the responses ended. I felt like my vision was tossed aside. I paid $3,788.75 for her services and her decor as promised was not there. I wanted a cascading bridal bouquet, she suggested away from that because of my height and petite body style that it would too much. I agreed and decided to go with the traditional style bouquet. My bouquet turned out to be waaaaay over powering. It was Gigantic for my small frame, I had to hold it by the upper stems just so it wouldn't cover my chest AND it was super heavy! omg so uncomfortable. I would not trust her for your wedding. I wish I would have gone with someone else but my special day cannot be changed. I wouldn't wish her sloppy services on anyone and tis the purpose of my review.

Picture Perfect! Melissa and her team @ Bontaika did a wonderful job at our wedding. Melissa is a joy to work with and she was always quick to reply and answered all my questions. She understood our budget and helped us stick to it. The flowers for the wedding were the perfect compliment to our venue. The succulent boxes were perfect on the tables and the bouquets were romantic. All the colors and flowers blended in so well. The arch looked amazing also and looks great in our photos. Melissa did a great job helping set up at the venue and also assisting with other things at the venue to help set up. Thank you Melissa for helping make our day the best and so beautiful!

Thank you for the beautiful flowers for my wedding. It was such an ease working with you, especially since I was handling everything long distance. The flowers turned out even better than I imagined and everyone commented on their uniqueness. I will definitely use Botanika again and will highly recommend to anyone needing flowers in the San Antonio area. Also, I was running into issues getting caterers to respond (well known ones in SA) and Melissa gave me several recommendations, one of which we used!! She saved the day!

Melissa did an amazing job putting our flowers together! She worked with us and modified our order a few times because of bridal party members dropping out. She was even able to bring flowers for the cake at the last minute! Such a lifesaver! All of the bouquets were gorgeous and the mothers/guys flowers were beautiful.

Even before I was engaged, I always knew I wanted to go with Melissa and Botanika for my florals as I had long admired her work featured on the Botanika website. When it was finally my turn, I was thrilled when my wedding planner also suggested her as the go-to person for beautiful floral arrangements in San Antonio! Melissa really listened to my vision of bright bold colors and a Spanish flair and brought it to life beautifully! Not only did she make beautiful centerpieces and bouquets, but she also made gorgeous floral chair swags that I absolutely loved! The flowers were all incredibly colorful, fresh and vibrant! Melissa was a pleasure to work with, and I truly feel that her florals made our wedding visually stunning and memorable!

Flowers was one area of our wedding where we spent more than we planned. However we decided it would be worth it to work with Melissa. Her professionalism and knowledge was so far above and beyond the other vendors we interviewed--and we're so glad we picked her. Everything she did was lovely--the bouquets were simply spectacular, and they photographed so well. The reception flowers were also beautiful, and Melissa was able to accommodate our budget with nice designs that didn't break the bank. I will say that we were a little underwhelmed by the bouts, and the color palate at the reception ran a more towards neutral than bold. BUT still all VERY lovely, VERY high-quality, and in fairness we weren't exactly providing specific guidance or following up (whoops) so I still wholeheartedly recommend Botanika to brides (and also recommend that you figure out what you want and communicate that during your first meeting--she is taking notes!)

Melissa was amazing to work with and extremely creative. When I met with her, she completely understood my vision and quickly drew up a diagram of what my ceremony and reception would look like. I also contracted outdoor furniture for my cocktail reception.

She listened closely to everything we said and really understood what we were going for and provided an amazing proposal just based on the brief conversation. The day of the event went beautifully and I was so impressed with everything she put together. The centerpieces were gorgeous. The accents down the aisle were exactly what we wanted. The bouquets were more beautiful than I could have imagined. All the decor for the reception was perfect and better than I pictured. Melissa and her team did an incredible job -I can't say enough about how wonderful it was and how grateful I am to them!

The centerpieces Melissa White created for my client's rehearsal dinner were absolutely stunning! Her floral and color scheme recommendations were spot-on in creating the rustic, romantic atmosphere that the Bride requested. Melissa's artistic vision is unmatched, which is why I'll always trust her to 'wow' even the most discerning clients.

Melissa is amazing!! I don't know anything about flowers, so had a hard time putting into words what I wanted... I was amazed when she showed us a sample and it was EXACTLY what I wanted!! She is also very great working with budgets. We ended up changing a lot of things because our flower budget kept getting smaller as planning went on. She was always very gracious and helpful with suggestions. We ended up with amazing flowers that really set a gorgeous tone at our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. So great to work with!!

SO worth the money!!! posted 5/17/2012 We thought it was a little expensive at first, but after all the hard work Melissa did, and how she handled everything, it was TOTALLY worth it!! She did the flowers and wedding planning.. Our weddnig was perfect, and if anything came up, she would very gracefully manage it.. I didn't have ANY worries that day...She is very nice and has really good taste. :)

When we had to drop our original florist only 2 months out from our wedding, I was worried we wouldn't find a new GOOD QUALITY vendor in time. I took recommendations to contact Botanika, and was sold after our first meeting, and in fact GRATEFUL that we ended up with Botanika instead. Melissa White is extremely professional, personable, & easy to work with. There were no problems designing a new (and improved) floral plan within the budget we had already planned for, and she was flexible with meeting times and decor options. She also did a great job helping my mother visualize the floral displays when she arrived in town to help - had a calming effect! Seeing the floral on wedding day was thrilling - she really nailed the color scheme and feel we had desired. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We have used them before, and were beyond happy. I must admit I was a little disappointed. So easy to work with; however, the quality seemed not as good this time.

I was referred to Botanika by my wedding planner. I had a wedding (interfaith ceremony) and masquerade ball reception. My experience with Botanika was trustworthy. Botanika helped design a beautiful landscape for my outdoor ceremony and indoor reception that matched our wedding colors. The flowers and decorations were beautiful and breathtaking. Our guests were impressed with the colors and designs.

melissa was so sweet and great to work with. Our consultation was wonderful and she was able ti take my ideas and vision and make it happen. My bridal bouquet was perfection. The end product was everything I could've asked for.
