**THIS ENTIRE REVIEW IS MY OPINION AND BASED ON THE EXPERIENCE I HAD IN THIS STORE**...This is the most horribly pretentious store I have ever been in. Boulevard Bride was the third bridal shop I had been to. I was still feeling out my style bu...t had a decently good idea of what I was looking for. The staff initially seemed friendly, offering us a mimosa and all smiles. My consultant was very attentive when I described what I was looking for and I want to make it clear my MY consultant was very nice and helpful. And this review is not a reflection of her, but of her coworkers and the environment of the store. She allowed my mom and I to browse the racks and bring back about 6 dresses. However, my budget quickly was thrown out the window with the dresses she was suggesting and bringing back. I start attempting to try on dresses. I say attempting because I am an average, straight sized bride (dress size 8-12) and did not have trouble at most other stores with getting the samples zipped on most of the way. I struggled with nearly every sample dress at Boulevard. I was embarrassed every time my consultant had to sausage me into a dress, which overall took away from the try on experience, as I was starting to feel really insecure about my body. I'll get back to my thoughts on this. Once I had a dress on, we were not allowed to take any pictures, per the store's policy. We didn't mind the request until we saw the bride in the area across from us taking as many photos as she wanted of every dress she tried on. While looking at a dress, my mom commented about the lace or something and lightly grazed her finger over the lace of the dress I had just battled to get on my body. A lady, I assume the manager, told her not to touch the dress because her finger oils could ruin it. My mom apologized and understood. I did find a dress I really liked and was considering a top contender. I put it back on and while admiring it, a man, assumingly the store owner, told me to go outside in the sunshine to see the lace sparkle...so five minutes ago my mom's finger oils would ruin your dress, but now I could drag it in the street for the sake of your sale? He insisted, so here I am, waddling outside in a dress half zipped, freezing, for sake of some glittery lace. Luckily, my sister was able to take a few photos of me in this dress while we were outside. When we came back in, I wanted photos of it on in the dressing area. They would only allow my consultant to take the pictures and pose me in VERY specific ways. The only thing that kept me from being uncomfortable is that, it felt like they did it all with a fake and forced politeness...Finally, I'd like to return to my thoughts on the sample dress sizes. Stores are responsible for the designers they buy from. While designers offer sample sizes that can vary in fit, it is the responsibility of the store to either choose designers that make a size that will fit most of their clientele or warn their client of the designer having a typically smaller sample. How am I supposed to envision the day I'm supposed to feel the most beautiful in a dress that I can't even sort of zip? It is on the store to pick designers that make a bride leave feeling beautiful, not insecure. Even a warning of a small running sample size is enough to feel like the store is in your corner.
