We had our wedding at Box Hill on 06/01/2024 and the only words that encapsulate our day are simply perfect, magical, and elegant. Mckenzie and her team were unbelievably professional and made us feel confident that our day would go smoothly for us and all of our guests. Mckenzie made sure to invite us to the venue whenever we wanted and was very knowledgable in the industry! The catering and bartending provided by Regents Glen / Box Hill surpassed our expectations and every single one of our guests could not stop talking about how incredible the food was and how welcome all of the servers, bartenders, and team members made them feel! Mckenzie and her team also did a fantastic job communicating with everyone on our vendor team to ensure a perfect day! We cannot recommend Box Hill enough!!
Beautiful Venue!!! We received tons of compliments on the wedding held at the Mansion! Everything went smoothly and according to planned due to McKenzie’s attention to detail! Definitely Recommend Box Hill Mansion!!!
When I first saw Box Hill Mansion, I knew instantly that it was the perfect venue. Touring and working with them really proved that to me. First of all, the venue is GORGEOUS. The grounds are so beautiful and the inside of the mansion is absolutely fantastic. All of our guests commented on how beautiful and cool the venue was! Another amazing thing about Box Hill is that it’s all inclusive - we were able to do all of our food and alcohol in house, which was a huge plus. Our guests loved the food and we were so so happy with all the service provided. We were also able to do our rehearsal dinner there, which went beautifully. McKenzie was our point of contact and our day of coordinator and she went above and beyond, especially the day of the wedding! Box Hill’s staff is so wonderful and accommodating. wedding planning can be really stressful and Box Hill’s team made it so much better. I would highly recommend Box Hill if you’re considering it! Thank you Box Hill!!!
We honestly were ready to book Box Hill just based off of the pictures, but then we actually got there in person and met with Kristie Barney and it was a done deal. She was FANTASTIC throughout the ENTIRE process. We had to make adjustments multiple times due to things out of everyone's control and it still could not have gone any more perfect. Kristie is the perfect shoulder to lean on, the perfect planner, and truly makes sure you get exactly what you want out of your wedding day/vision. Kristie, Christie, Wendy, & the rest of the staff did such an excellent job, and I could not be more grateful for the kindness that was displayed to us throughout the ENTIRE process. Truly love them all. Thank you for making it such a wonderful night for us both. You guys forever rock and I wish nothing but good things for all of you.
I attended a wedding at the Box Hill Mansion in York, PA last weekend and from the moment I arrived we were treated as if we were not welcome. I believe this was because of the color of our skin. Even though we had access to the entire property, everything we went indoors the staff watched us as if they did t want in inside. With the exception of the bartender and one male server, when asking staff for misc. things it was as if we were bothering them. The portion size of the food was too small and lacked flavor. The neighbors threatened to call the police because of the volume of the DJ’s music although it was an afternoon wedding. The staff should have addressed the issue but as I mentioned they were not inviting nor helpful in any manner. We all made the best of our experience, but it was clear they rather not service people of color which is very sad. The grounds are beautiful, but no amount of beauty is worth being treated like you don’t belong.
We had a small intimate wedding and everybody was so accommodating, Leo the restaurant manager was super thorough making sure that everything was perfect which it was. The food was absolutely incredible and they let us have all the time and space that we needed for our special day. I had to plan all of it via email from another state so that was tough but it all worked out. The only downside was I was unable to get to the mansion the night before the wedding be rehearsed and go over any questions in person that I might have but of course that's due to the fact that I'm out of the location area which the venue was at.
Kristie,
I can’t even think about the wedding without crying!
It was absolutely perfect, there is nothing about the night that we would change, and you know it was a journey to get here. Everything was amazing. Somehow I don’t know how you guys did it but you all managed to make all my dreams come true.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart ❤️
We will never forget this day for the rest of our lives!
Thank you
Karen & Steve
Every last detail was thought of, from the venue to the staff, the coordinator, and the chef everything was picture perfect. I could not have asked for a more beautiful place to be married. They took the stress out of my wedding day and allowed me to enjoy every second.
We had our wedding at the Box Hill Mansion. You cannot find a more beautiful atmosphere than their grounds. Sadly, our wedding day included 3 inches of rain. We hired Fosters Flowers and she saved my wedding. She decorated the mansion and it was still a beautiful wedding.
Our reception was at Regents Glen, also pretty. Make sure you get the draping!
The actual venue is such a perfect place to have your wedding. However, we went through three different coordinators during our engagement Because of the turn over rate, the team there wasn't in sync. Hoping their miscommunication with each other and small blunders were only know to my family and wedding party.
Overall though, you honestly can't find a more beautiful venue! Talk about amazing pictures, and that was on the rainiest Saturday!!
The venue is absolutely beautiful and impressed our guests, but the personnel and catering changes did certainly provide a challenging and unpleasant planning process. We had 3 wedding coordinators and the venue decided to contract out an offsite caterer instead of catering on site, and no one seemed to be able to communicate well and be on top of things through the transitions. Many more phone and email conversations had to be had, documents resent multiple times, etc. We chose a venue with a coordinator because we are both so busy. I was exhausted by the time my wedding day came from the stress. I felt that I had to constantly had to "stand up" for myself to get what we were told was available to us when we signed a contract and was made to feel like I was being difficult, not the bridal experience one hopes for. A representative of the venue admitted, "the 2015 brides have had it rough" but there wasn't anything offered to try to make up for it.
While the food was tasty, I wasn't overly impressed with Accomac. The package prices had gone up after we signed a contract and they seemed skimpy with things and they tried to nickle and dime us. Our medium filets came out well done, despite my emphasizing the importance of that not happening, and an appetizer upgrade we paid for was missing and we barley got an apology, a refund was not offered. Ice tea and lemonade were supposed to be provided prior to the ceremony at an extra cost, but only a couple guest said they were offered any. By that point I just wanted to enjoy my day and not continue to haggle with them, so I let it go. We were also asked for payment towards the end of our reception by the same person my husband called and paid the balance to when it was due. The service during the event was very friendly and attentive, but dinner came out slowly with only 80 guests and guests told me they were surprised bar closed a half hour before our 4 hour open bar time should have ended, no one told us that would happen, or that was another way they cut costs? I can say the venue was very accommodating with subbing liquor of the same price so I could have signature cocktails I wanted and the bartenders mixed them well.
It was also convenient to be able to get our hair and make-up done on site. Regents Glen catered a bridesmaid lunch but, while it was very good, it was brought over an hour late. I had to shove flatbread in my mouth while getting my makeup done so I could eat before dinner. There were a lot of leftovers, and we asked them to be packed up for the after party, but they were boxed and left in the room and not refrigerated, so we figured why risk the food poisoning and didn't get to eat them anyway.
Besides these things, I was surprised the day went as smoothly as it did with the mess of a planning process and at least that was "behind the scenes" to our guests. The new manager seemed very nice, and the new wedding coordinator did okay for being there 5 days before our wedding but could have been on top of things mentioned above. Hopefully the new management will get it together, because it could be the perfect venue. Fortunately our guests were none the wiser, our other vendors were on point, and we have pretty photos. Unfortunately I only get one wedding day and the experience I had with the venue can't be changed and was disappointing.
What a beautiful location! So many options, so much scenery! We had looked at multiple venue options before we found Box Hill Mansion, but we knew right away that this was where we wanted to get married.
We were married outside (it was a must that our dogs were able to be a part of our wedding and they are not permitted inside), we had cocktail hour on the patio and the reception inside.
From the start, everything was fantastic. They changed coordinators partway through our planning process, and I was so worried that all the work we had done was going to be lost. We loved the coordinator we started with, but the transition was seamless and the new coordinator did an equally amazing job.
We had special requests that were all taken care of. Michele was amazing, just simply amazing. She was always quick to respond, professional yet easy to talk to and she made the day perfect. I am totally over organized and not used to turning over the reigns to others, but she left me with no worries. Between the views, the service and everything, you can't go wrong booking Box Hill Mansion.
