Kevin, who monitored the audio levels, was also very helpful and understanding. The open coffee bar was such a beautiful touch, everyone loved it! The venue was perfect for our wedding. However, I did have some challenges with the, Cathy Willis (administrator/venue contact). There were several communication issues, and I had to constantly remind her of details. Additionally, there was an incident where she asked my vendors to stop speaking Spanish, which I found quite disrespectful and left a lasting sour note for us and our vendors. There were also issues with the decibel levels. I had notified my vendors that Cathy would reach out beforehand to discuss the regulations, but she never did until the day of, when she came in and threatened to shut the wedding down. All of this could’ve been avoided had Cathy, reached out to the vendors like she said she would. Or notified me of the regulations so I could relay that to them. That being said, the owner, bartenders, baristas, and on-site staff were absolutely wonderful and truly made our night special. The venue itself is beautiful and offers so much flexibility for couples to bring their vision to life. I would recommend Boxed & Burlap — just be aware and come prepared to advocate for your needs.

f the kindest people and people who really want you to have the best day ever. the barn has amazing lighting and the outdoor space was stunning for the ceremony! the new paved parking lot was gorgeous. the batten house was the perfect spot for getting ready! 🩵

All of our guests also loved the option to get free coffee from the coffee house and having the fire pits on the patio for the reception! Unfortunately, the airstream was unavailable for the groomsmen to get ready, but I think that will be a great addition!

ap was so easy and painless. You do have to use their bar, but it is basically the only vendor that you have to use when working with Boxed. Their bar packages was very straight forward and we knew exactly what we were going to have to pay when it came time for bills to be due. We liked that we were able to customize everything else and bring in our own food, floral, and DJ. We also loved how we were the only ones getting married at Boxed for the day, we didn't have to share the venue with other couples like some other venues which meant their full attention was on us. Our guests loved being able to go over to the coffee shop all night and have upscale coffee and tea drinks all night included with our reception. Boxed also photographs so well and our pictures from the night are so beautiful!

Because they don’t have their own catering or anything, planning our reception felt very “a la cart” so his expertise and support was greatly appreciated! The day of the reception went exactly as planned thanks to the care and coordination of the Boxed and Burlap staff. We had access to the Batten House and the Barn starting at 0800. The Batten House was the perfect space to get ready in! Included in the price, was a B&B specific coordinator for the day of. They were super helpful in the set up and coordination as vendors arrived. They also had parking attendant staff who helped guests with parking and directed our shuttle services. They even helped set up fire pits later in the evening! One thing that was really unique to our experience at Boxed and Burlap was the coffee shop! They stay open to serve coffee shop beverages throughout the entire night. Beverages were included with our initial payment. It was a really fun alternative for people who didn’t want to drink alcohol. We fell in love with the venue because it truly allowed for the best of everything. We had a great space for music and dancing but also a beautiful patio space for people who wanted to sit outside and catch up around the fire or under string lights. We had yard games, smores, great bar service and amazing barista service! We truly could not be happier with our choice to have our reception at Boxed and Burlap!

Cons: the bar package is a bit goofy, bridal suite didn’t have products restocked in the bathroom prior to our event, people were in our venue during the day of for a rehearsal which we thought was strange and would have appreciated notice about.

I wouldn't have changed a thing. The great thing about this space is that every single area is stunning, even the backup plan. We were married in front of the big sliding glass doors, and something about the moody Friday the 13th rain as a backdrop was so stunning. The communication with all of the staff leading up to the event was incredible. Matty really kept us in the loop in checked in with us leading up to the big day. If you are even slightly considering this space as your venue, just book it. You will not. be disappointed. Our Friday wedding allowed us to set up Thursday night which really helped to alleviate stressors going into the wedding day. Also having coffee at our disposal really helped those jitters too! *Pro tip: We stayed at the Belfry house next door to the space after the wedding and it was a stunning luxury experience that helped to top off the entire day.

EVERY employee was amazing and we truly can't thank you enough for that. The venue itself is beautiful and we had received so many compliments throughout the day and night just about the venue itself. Having our ceremony inside I was a little nervous about the flipping of the venue, but yet again your staff really showed up and made for a stress free day for myself and my Husband. Also having the Batten house for the girls in the morning and for the wedding party throughout the day was so amazing, it was great to have a space for us to gather when we wanted to be away from the guests prior to our grand entrance and just to hang out and store our stuff in. We just wanted to thank you for everything, we highly recommend this venue and your staff to anyone planning their wedding, 5 stars for sure!

helped us to plan the space out. The barn area is very clean and large and spacious. We had about 170 people attend our wedding and there was room to spare. The grounds are very well kept. We had our ceremony outside and the space was perfect. The restrooms were very clean and had more than enough capacity for everyone. The Battenhouse was a great space to get ready in and have an area to get away from guests. The coffee house on the grounds was also a really nice perk, especially because our guests got free coffee! I highly recommend this venue to anyone interested.

Not only do you have a beautiful reception area, but your guests get access to the coffee house (and coffee!!) during your wedding. And the coffee is insanely good. Matty and Cathy were very responsive and answered all of my questions leading up to the big day (and I had a lot!). When we arrived, tables and chairs were already set up and that removed a lot of stress from our morning. The venue coordinators were also amazing. They checked in frequently and helped make the day easier. The bartenders were also very personable and I enjoyed getting to talk with them through out the night. The venue coordinators helped us clean up at the end of the night. Overall, I was very impressed and they went above and beyond for our day. The entire venue and day were beautiful and the staff was incredible. If you book your wedding or event with Boxed and Burlap, you will not be disappointed!!

Our caterer also lost power on the back wall which also resulted in our meal being cold too. Bar prices are extremely high as well! hts during the summer, this place on a regular day is magical...so just imagine on a wedding day. It is owned by John and Lindsay Neighbors who built it essentially from the ground up and brought their vision to life, special shout out to all of the landscaping coming from trees from their own tree farm. We got this place during COVID when all the weddings were shut down, so John and Lindsay were like hell we have time let’s throw in some pergolas, spruce up the bathrooms, make general upgrades for fun. So by the time we got married it was even cooler than our first visit. On the day, EVERY drink from the coffee shop was free to everyone associated with the wedding. This was my favorite part, and something I haven’t experienced at any other venue we’ve ever attended a wedding at. The venue director Matty was a FRICKEN ROCKSTAR and was genuinely the first person in wedding planning to get me to relax. He was there every step of the way to help organize and understand everything related to the wedding, even regarding vendor things, and then was there as the day of coordinator (included in the venue price) to make sure the day went perfectly (along with two other security staff to do any job we needed done). Everyone we encountered with our venue made us so confident and happy with our decision, and we love that we can go back and relive our day there on any day at the coffee shop.

He then proceed to sit down with us and actually get to know us all before touring the venue. This was such a personal and genuine gesture that really showed how much the entire B+B staff cared about their guests and clients. In the months leading up to the wedding, Matty and Cathy were so responsive and accommodating to all of my emails, questions, and concerns. I was so grateful to have their assistance with rentals, the bar, and setup! The day of the wedding, Matty was so attentive to my groom and I, checking in often to see if we needed anything. He even checked in with our parents to see if they needed any drinks during dinner which went a long way with both sides of the family. I am from a huge family and have already had so many people tell me that they want their wedding at Boxed and Burlap. With the fantastic service, incredible location, kind owners, and of course...delicious coffee...I cannot wait to go back and celebrate more weddings soon! One visit to the venue and we fell in love with it!! It is the perfect combination of rustic and modern. Extremely charming with its beautiful expansive lawn, cobblestone patio, quaint little coffee shop, and elegant barn. They were so flexible with our situation and were able to honor our requests in order to have a safe and socially-distanced wedding. Bonus: all of the drinks prepared inside the coffeehouse were free for our guests! Everyone was so impressed with the venue and we were getting compliments on it the entire night! We could not be happier with how things turned out. Thank you to Matty and Cathy for being so responsive, helpful, and wonderful to work with! We have two experiences with Boxed and Burlap - the first was a wedding in the fall of 2019. The ceremony was outside and the reception in the Barn. Everything was great from the top down, the venue is beautiful (and now in our venue search, we've found there were additional renovations such as doors, heat & AC, and more since then), the DJ was great, and the coffee house was just icing on the cake ;) The second was in the midst of the rapid changes due to Covid-19. Due to restrictions, we had to change our venue location for our wedding this summer. Matty was so helpful in his transparency in communication, sharing so much helpful information, and going above and beyond in answering our questions and providing help in any way he could as we searched for a venue and considered Boxed and Burlap - a true high level professional. The only reason we didn't end up moving forward with Boxed and Burlap is because they were over an hour away from our original location (we would have had to change caterers, hotels, etc.), and we were able to find a venue very close to our original. Otherwise, Boxed and Burlap would have been it! If you're looking for a beautiful venue with top notch staff to work with to host your wedding at, definitely get in contact with Matty at Boxed and Burlap!

space with fire pits which they lit for us. The yard space is where my daughter and son-in-law chose to have the wedding ceremony, but it could be used for yard games if the weather was warm. The barn itself is beautiful with heat and two large glass doors at each end. As the MOB I really appreciated having an option for an indoor ceremony if the weather got bad. It is such a beautiful interior space that the wedding would have been beautiful indoors too. The barn is big and I worried it might feel big with a reception of about 120 people, but it was inviting and beautiful. Two unique spaces which we really appreciated were the Batten house and the coffee shop. The bridal party used the Batten house from 10 am on the day of the wedding which comes equipped with a fridge, sink and 2piece bathroom. It was very bright with natural light and spacious, with ample electric outlets for hair and makeup to be done. The coffee house is a beautiful space. It became exclusively available to our wedding event at 6pm on the day of the wedding with free beverages. They had a barista who served non-alcoholic coffee drinks+tea, cider, cocoa. It has a very nice handicap accessible bathroom. I really loved this space and so did our guests. We set up the cake in there and people came over and enjoyed a hot beverage with the cake. Our daughter chose to have draping done inside the barn to frame the dance floor. Boxed and Burlap's event manager, Matty, was very accommodating and helpful executing this design. The draping was gorgeous, done by Heidi at Modbloom.net. We also rented chairs as an upgrade from Collins Custom Creations which was very reasonable and looked great. Our caterer was BelAir Cantina who did a spectacular job. Since my daughter lives out of state, it was a little intimidating as the MOB to facilitate the decisions she wanted for her wedding, but Matty always got back to me with answers to my continuous questions. He also helped us find vendors who fit our needs, like the draping. Matty was with our event the whole day of the wedding which was a comfort. He was attentive, considerate and very helpful, giving us any information we needed to know to make the day great. Our daughter and son-in-law LOVED their wedding. Thank you Matty for helping to make it a success start to finish! Thank you Cathy and John for all your behind the scenes help!

I couldn't be happier with the appearance of our venue on our wedding day, but I know that it will only continue to become more and more amazing with his constant hard work and dedication to the space. We received so many compliments from our guests regarding the natural beauty of the venue, the unique coffee shop, and how open and spacious the barn was while also appearing comfortable, classy, and complete. I cannot recommend Boxed & Burlap enough as not only a wedding venue, but also a beautiful and relaxing stop on your way through the Lake Geneva Area!
