Bubbly Events

e are so many moving pieces, decisions, personalities, timelines, and details that I never could have anticipated. Looking back, I genuinely don't know what we would have done without her. From day one, Katie made an immediate impact. She helped me think through countless details that never would have crossed my mind, from wedding day logistics and timelines to all of the little things you need to bring and prepare for. Every time I found something new to worry about, Katie already had a plan. There were even a few family situations I was stressed about, and she simply said, "No problem, I'll handle it!" (She did!!!) Beyond being incredibly organized and talented, Katie is just a joy to be around. Every planning session felt like catching up with a friend. Whether we were grabbing a drink, hopping on a call, or working through wedding details, she somehow made the entire process feel lighter. One of the things I appreciated most was how she helped bring my vision to life. I'm a creative person and had a lot of ideas, some of which were all over the place. Katie helped me refine everything into something cohesive and beautiful while still making me feel like the wedding was completely ours. Her guidance never felt controlling. I always felt like I had ownership over the creative direction, and she helped turn it into something even better than I imagined. On the wedding day itself, Katie was an absolute rockstar. We had weather concerns leading up to the event, and she kept us calm, confident, and prepared with a rain plan that thankfully we never needed. She knew exactly when to take charge and keep things moving, and exactly when to fade into the background and handle things behind the scenes. The result was that my husband and I were actually able to enjoy our wedding day. I can't tell you how many friends, family members, and people in our wedding party came up to us during the wedding and the next day to tell us how incredible our planner was. Multiple people said she was one of the best wedding planners they had ever seen. Watching her in action, I completely understood why. Brides, if you're looking for someone who will keep you sane, advocate for you, handle problems before you even know they exist, and be the best sidekick you could ask for throughout the process, you've found your person. Katie is truly exceptional!!!!

tion. I had a vibe in my head but no idea how to bring it to life. Katie nailed it. Her relationships with other local vendors alone is worth her fee. She was there every step of the way, even when I didn't expect her to be. She is knowledgeable, responsive, and runs a tight ship on wedding day. My wedding day was perfect, and if there was anything that wasn't perfect, I have literally no idea about it so Katie clearly did her job. I cannot recommend Katie/Bubbly Events more highly to any other Wilmington brides!!

From the very beginning, Katie was incredibly communicative, organized, and thoughtful, but what really stood out was how genuinely supportive and invested she was in making our wedding everything we hoped it would be. The very first question she asked us was what our priorities were...not anyone else’s opinions or just a generic “vision”...and that set the tone for everything that followed in the best way. In the three months leading up to the wedding, her guidance became even more invaluable. She helped us navigate every detail with such calm confidence, always making us feel like we were in the very best hands. From table settings to lighting, DJ recommendations to signage - no question was too small, and no detail was ever overlooked. The week of our wedding brought an unexpected challenge, a nor’easter rolled in and completely changed our plans. We had to move our cocktail hour indoors, and what could have been a stressful scramble turned into a completely seamless transition thanks to Katie. She coordinated with all of our vendors, handled every logistical detail, and made the entire situation feel effortless from our perspective. Because of her, I was able to stay present and actually enjoy the days leading up to our wedding, which is something I’ll always be grateful for. On the day itself, Katie was not only incredibly professional and on top of everything, but also so fun, warm, and full of positive energy. Not just me and Pearson, our entire wedding party absolutely adored her. She brought the best vibe to the day and made everyone feel comfortable, taken care of, and ready to celebrate. Honestly, I wish we could do it all over again just so we could spend more time working with Katie (and her really cute dogs!). She is truly exceptional at what she does, and even more importantly, she is a genuinely wonderful person. She made our wedding day feel magical, smooth, and completely stress-free. We cannot recommend her highly enough!

the planning process was frustratingly inconsistent. Communication & Coordination Issues Emails often went unanswered for weeks, requiring repeated follow-ups. Despite hiring Bubbly Events NC, we handled all vendor coordination and design ourselves. Meetings felt rushed, and responses were brief and unhelpful. The rehearsal dinner lacked structure, forcing us to manage logistics. Transportation was mishandled—our groomsmen were told no trolley was coming, despite my multiple confirmations with Katie and Azalea Limousine Service. Wedding Day Execution Key details were overlooked: • Guests were left standing at the ceremony due to seating mismanagement. Sticky notes replaced proper name tags. • My veil fell off as I walked down the aisle. My dad had to hold it. • My bustle wasn’t properly secured, affecting photos and our first dance. • My scheduled first look with my father was entirely missed, despite him arriving on time. Professionalism & Accountability Katie made dismissive comments, such as criticizing our floral budget and complaining about a petal toss cleanup. When I asked where to steam my dress, she responded, “You should’ve already steamed it.” Meanwhile, when I needed help, my Maid of Honor found her eating Chick-fil-A. After the wedding, Katie dismissed concerns about the rehearsal dinner and shifted blame for the missed first look onto the photographers. Her explanation that she is a “planning, coordination, and design planner”—not a full event planner—felt like an excuse. At over $5,000, I expected better execution and support. Final Thoughts While Katie can execute a wedding, her lack of attention to detail, professionalism, and accountability made the planning process frustrating. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Bubbly Events NC.
