Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department Hall

This is a good venue. I wish they were a little more flexible about dropping stuff outside the hours you booked. Also even though it says it fits 201-250 I think it best for about 150 specially if you want a dance floor. Unless you don't want to use round tables. Otherwise the space can be too small. we had 175 and we barely had a dance floor and tables were too close to each other... Other than that it's a good venue.

We absolutely loved having our our evening ceremony and reception at the BVFRD event hall! The venue was perfect for our semi-formal cocktail-style event, and the fees we paid went to support a local community resource--the volunteer firefighters--which we thought was pretty darn cool. The manager Alisha was great to work with, and unlike most venues we researched BVFRD didn't add on extra fees for every thing, or have unreasonable limitations on caterers. Basic table set-up [either 8' rectangles, 5' rounds, or a mix of both] and tear down, all the chairs, hall monitors for the event, and use of the ice machine/warmers/coolers are all included in the very reasonable hall fee. Although we didn't use it, access to the full industrial kitchen was also available at a reasonable additional cost. The hall is attached to the volunteer firehouse, but has a separate parking area and entrance with a cool entry staircase. Inside, the hall is two stories tall with brick and glass walls on two sides, multiple lighting choices, a capacity of up to 250 persons (we had about 120 guests), excellent kitchen facilities, and is fully handicapped accessible. Our coordinator and caterer were able to meet the Hall manager at the site in advance to get an understanding of the space to layout our floor plan in the best possible way. About a week before our wedding we provided a floor plan of the layout to Alisha and arrived day-of to find it all set-up and ready to go. Our caterers just had to add tablecloths, and our florist centerpieces, which made set up a whole lot faster and easier. We had a DJ, set up several food stations, and also had a photo booth - everything fit perfectly and there was enough electrical outlets to meet everyone's needs. The caterer loved the kitchen (said it was one of the best he had worked in) and the hall layout did exactly what we wanted - which was to get our guests up and mingling and talking and having a great time. The acoustics of the hall were great for the ceremony, background music during dinner, and dancing later in the evening. We loved the space, and working with the staff at BVFRD, and would definitely recommend the hall!!!
