We researched and interviewed several different wedding planners before talking to Amy, and we hired her immediately after our first meeting. As my husband and I don't live in the Charleston area, it was important to us that we had an experienced planner who was familiar with our venue and vision, and Amy was just that! She answered every single one of my texts and emails promptly, and made sure we were aware of all details and deadlines. We were completely relaxed going into our wedding day knowing that Amy and team had all the details covered (and not to mention, the design was everything I could've dreamed of!). Amy was just AMAZING! She took my very vague descriptions and visions and turned them into something even better than I could ever imagine! And you truly would never know we were trying to book this wedding from hundreds of miles away - she made everything so easy. The design was sunning, the day was seamless, and my husband and I had just the best time, without a worry in the world. Amy was phenomenal to work with! I am not local to the Charleston area and was not familiar with vendors, but Amy was excellent in providing vendor recommendations that fit our budget/needs during the planning process. She was timely in all of our communications leading up to our wedding day and made sure to answer any/all of our questions! The day of, Amy and team made our wedding day seamless! I cannot express my gratitude enough for the experience Amy and her team gave my husband and I from the second we contacted her to the last minute of our wedding day. She allowed us to plan our wedding over two years from 6 states away while I was in the midst of my Masters program. Amy was the ideal wedding planner. She was attentive, easy to work with, organized and professional. She was extremely responsive and patient with all of our questions. From the second I got off the phone with Amy from our initial consultation I knew she was the perfect fit for my fiancé (now husband) and I. Where to begin…Amy is the ribbon that will gracefully hold together any wedding, no matter what is thrown her way. We think of ourselves as pretty easy going people but after 5 months with a different planner, we hit a breaking point. We didn’t know where to turn and the anxiety sky rocketed. We had an intro call with Amy and explained the situation. We knew within minutes that we wanted to put our faith into her saving our wedding and our mental state. Like previous reviews have stated, Amy is transparent, she’s professional, she’s talented and most importantly she’s extremely personable. There is no sugar coating how terrible wedding planning can be but if you have the honor of hiring Amy, you will soon realize that she can make the most anxious person feel relaxed. On wedding day, she did not stop. She was helpful, punctual and such a delight. She truly felt like the bad ass mother figure everyone needs the most amazing (and stressful) day of their lives. No event goes exactly as planned but when she sees something isn’t in line with the picture you’ve painted, she will act FAST to get things straightened out, all while bringing laughter to the crowd. For days and even weeks after our wedding, we had friends and family praising “that planner”. Yes, Amy is THAT planner. It perfectly sums up what you get with Amy - she is THAT planner that anyone and everyone needs to make their wedding become the day of their dreams. Thank you so much Amy, we owe you the world!

Amy is incredible!!! I came to her four months before my wedding after parting ways with an awful wedding planner. She had to pick up all the pieces that weren’t complete. She jumped right in and made the process for those last few months so smooth. She pulled major connections to get me a florist and design elements that were still exactly what I wanted. She answered emails literally within the hour when my last planner would go weeks. She made me feel so relaxed and like I could give up control of the details and boy did she nail those details. Amy is everything you want from a wedding planner - from being your guiding light in the stressful planning process, to being able to take your design vision and turn it into a reality. As someone who dreaded the planning process, Amy was a godsend. Her quick responses, ability to cull a customized set of vendor recommendations and provide knowledgeable guidance was so invaluable. She also was able to capture exactly what we wanted the day to look and feel like and executed flawlessly. When I walked into our venue, my draw dropped. It was exactly how I had hoped the room would look. She perfectly timed the whole day as well. Amy took to heart what we wanted from the day, then took charge as the professional to help us get to that perfect end result, which is something I could never have done by myself. I can not recommend Amy enough. She will make your day absolutely perfect.

Amy saved our wedding! Our first planner was a nightmare and we were left high and dry with ZERO rentals, florals, and a ton of other things that were never done THREE MONTHS before our wedding. Desperate, we found Amy who immediately got to work to help. She is a consummate professional, experienced, and will help create the wedding of your dreams. She answered our communication in a timely manner, sometimes on the same day or night, which was shocking because our first planner would takes days or weeks to respond. She would even reach out to us right away if there was a problem that needed fixing. She was completely transparent and up front with expectations with our rentals and budget. I cannot say enough that we felt respected with her and felt that she truly fought to make our wedding day special. I'm a resident physician and my wife is a teacher, and so our schedules were very hectic, especially dealing with the disaster of switching planners. But Amy made us feel comfortable, valued, and well-taken care of. She will answer any question you have, get things done on time, prepare for the worst, and overall put you at ease for your big day. On the day of, Amy was a rock star. First off, she really made our dream wedding come to life with her vision perfectly meshing with our own. Her arrangement and ideas were perfect. Our big day was not without emergency fires, which she put out. I had a personal family matter that almost ruined our day, but Amy helped me right away, was calm, and put me at ease with her professionalism. Our ceremony also got delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, yet Amy was able to think on the fly and deliver a magical evening without any issues! I cannot say enough how amazing Amy is. Wedding planning should be a happy, stress-free time, and Amy will make that happen.

Amy is absolutely AMAZING! Not only is she organized with an impeccable eye for design, but she is one of the most fun people ever. I loved every conversation that I had with her leading up to the wedding and beyond. She acted as part therapist and helped me navigate all of the tricky things leading up to the big day. Amy is the PERFECT wedding planner and designer! We were planning our destination wedding in Charleston, SC while living in NYC and she could not have made the process easier. We connected with Amy instantly because of her New York roots and loved that she worked as fast-paced as we do. She would immediately respond to any email we sent her, which made us feel so confident in everything she was doing for us. Every vendor we booked spoke about how much they enjoy working with Amy and it showed on the wedding day. Everyone worked so well together and our wedding was better than what we dreamed of. We did not really know what we wanted in terms of floral design (aside from a color scheme and some inspiration photos) and trusted Amy completely to design the entire event space for us. She worked closely with our florist to design what many of our guests said was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. We really appreciated how she took every floral arrangement from the ceremony space and added it somewhere else later on in the event to make sure that nothing went to waste. Our venue was very challenging to work with in terms of communication and Amy went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we needed from them. We really cannot recommend Amy enough!!

I have had a hard time with writing this review because it has been difficult to find the words to adequately convey just how wonderful Amy and her team are. Amy operates in one of the most sought after wedding markets in the country and does so exceptionally - we would choose her to plan our wedding again and again. My fiance and I engaged Amy and her team to plan our rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and wedding. As someone who has long dread the idea of planning a wedding, I can truly say that Amy made the process smooth, stress-free, and even fun! In fact, we already miss working with her and will forever look back fondly on our time leading up to our big day - something that I am willing to bet not many people can say. And that is completely attributable to Amy. In addition to being organized, creative, and detail-oriented, Amy always was able to telegraph our concerns and respond to them immediately - sometimes without us even communicating them to her. On top of that, I have never worked with someone who has responded so quickly to each and every email or message I have sent her way. I'm actually not quite sure how she does it! We were also struck with how respected she is among other wedding vendors in Charleston, which speaks more to her reputation as a planner than any review I could leave. Everyone we came into contact with sung her praises, which further reinforced to us that we were in the best of hands. Amy designed and fully executed our dream wedding and made the entire day one that we and our parents could enjoy completely without any stress. We continue to get compliments from guests, and most importantly, know that we will look back on our wedding day with warm hearts for the rest of our lives. If I could give Buttercup Events Charleston a 10 star rating I would! My daughter-in-law envisioned the perfect outdoor courtyard wedding and Amy and her team delivered. Amy was exactly what my fiancé & I needed in a wedding planner! We got married at Mingo Point in Kiawah Island, SC - but we were planning from afar in Atlanta, GA. We hired her for the partial service package, but it felt like Amy consistently went above & beyond to provide the best service possible. From the beginning, Amy responded to all of my emails/calls very quickly & with genuinely helpful advice or answers. She worked closely with my mother & I to make sure all of our ideas for my husband & I's wedding day came to fruition. She was always honest with her opinions and feedback, which allowed me to maintain realistic expectations throughout the entire planning process. I was going through nursing school while trying to plan a wedding, so having Amy to help us figure out all of the details & logistics along the way felt like such a weight off of my shoulders! Anytime I felt stressed about wedding plans, I would reach out to Amy about them and she immediately put me at ease & offered solutions. Amy's advice is the reason we hired several other vendors from our wedding day that we were also incredibly impressed with. On our wedding day, Amy was truly on top of EVERYTHING. Her assistants were fantastic as well. I was able to truly enjoy our wedding day with zero worries - from how the event flowed to where my personal belongings were at the end of the night, Amy was on it. Amy and her team are out of this world amazing! We dreamed of pulling together a large (~200 person wedding) in a prime wedding season in less than 6 months. Many people told me it would be near impossible to do in that timeframe in Charleston and Amy made the “impossible” possible. We were thrilled with every single detail of our wedding - from the planning process to the rehearsal to every piece of wedding day (from linens to food and beyond). Amy was knowledgeable, proactive, attentive, kind, and so encouraging every step of the way. She flawlessly envisioned and executed the most perfect wedding for me and my husband. Amy was so attentive throughout the entire wedding planning process, she responds right away and gives her honest opinion. We are from Miami and decided to plan our wedding in Charleston. We chose Amy as recommended by our venue, but truthfully we chose her blindly because we aren’t from the area. Amy was always available to discuss any detail or concern through email or by phone. I didn’t have a specific vision for how the space and the day would look, but knew what I didn’t want and some minor details. Amy helped piece everything together and made the space look so elegant and beautiful. It was exactly what I wanted without knowing it initially. She kept all the planning details and vendor information very organized and made sure the night flowed so smoothly. She listened to my wishes about timeline and allowed us to have an amazing party with lots of dancing for most of the night. In terms of budget, she was mindful in helping us find solutions for things that were not as worth it to splurge and she helped connect us with other vendors we needed along the way. She’s extremely professional, very well respected by her peers and we just trusted her. We were so happy with the outcome and hope you get the chance to work with her too!

Hands down this is the most efficient and friendly staff of any event I've been to, wedding or otherwise. All of the staff is very personable. I would definitely use this team of professionals for my next event.

Amy is incredible. My husband and I both have jobs that don't allow us much free time and we don't live in Charleston so I needed a planner who would take care of everything with minimal to no supervision. As a New Yorker I am used to things being done quickly and was worried I wouldn't find someone who shared by sense of urgency to just get things done. Amy understood all of that and more. I cannot believe how much she did with minimal help from me. I would send her pictures of things I liked and she literally took care of the rest. I was totally stunned when I saw my reception on my wedding day. It was absolutely gorgeous and I felt like I hadn't done any work. Amy literally took care of everything. I always imagined wedding planning being this incredibly involved process, but thanks to Amy it was so easy and stress free. We even had crazy weather issues that were changing up until the ceremony but she was on top of it and made everything happen so that I could still have the outdoor wedding I always wanted. I felt so well taken care of and her quickness to respond to my questions and emails literally deserves awards. How anyone can be that responsive when they are so busy and important is mind blowing. I don't know how she does it all but I am SO thankful for her. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She's such a professional and insanely good at what she does. I have no plans to have any more parties but if I did I would hire as the planner over and over and over again.

I am a resident doctor with no time to spare who married another doctor. We had a five month engagement due to the availability of our schedules. As soon as we figured out a rough date, we spoke with Amy. She was straightforward, realistic, but also a go-getter who was confident she could make it happen. She made the entire process so easy. The vendors she chose for us to work with were outstanding. Amy was able to arrange a tasting for us despite the tight timeline (our venue was booked long past our wedding date). Amy is the world's fastest email responder, so we were never left in the dark wondering what is happening with the wedding. The week of my wedding, the weather was predicted to be rainy with ice the night before and freezing. She was able to find a solution that kept us warm and comfortable without significant budget changes and without changing the overall design or vibe. She and her team made the day go smoothly. I was never stressed about any detail. She was professional, accommodating, and lovely to work with. My only wish is that we could get married every year so that we could talk to Amy all the time!

As the mother of the bride, I was a bit overwhelmed with the wedding planning process. I live in Charleston, SC, where the wedding was to be held while the bride and groom (my daughter and her NOW husband!) live in NYC, so I took on the majority of the planning. Once I got the major vendors in place, I knew I needed some help to make it happen. Buttercup Events was recommended to me so I gave Amy DeVito a call and knew in the first few minutes of our conversation that she was the answer to my prayers!! I contracted with Amy for the Month of Coordination package about six months before the wedding, and we felt her support from day one. She was always available to answer any question via email. When my daughter, Kathleen, would ask what we should do about something', I would say, "Let's ask Amy!" Amy would always respond quickly and with words of wisdom or advice that made us feel comfortable and confident. During the rehearsal and the main event, Amy was as cool as a cucumber and kept me and the rest of the wedding party relaxed and on track. She managed everything with grace and confidence and the wedding exceeded my expectations and those of my daughter! Everyone in attendance kept saying what an amazing wedding it was and I know that was in a large part due to Amy and Buttercup Events. Everyone needs Amy as their wedding planner. I don’t have enough words to describe how lovely she is! She is hands down the best wedding planner who becomes a friend along the way. She is exactly what I needed throughout the entire process. She makes it seamless and EASY!!!! She listens to everything you want and makes it happen all within budget! Amy was an absolute treasure. We are more than thankful and grateful for this fabulous woman. Our wedding day was more than we could have ever imagined. My daughter was married on the Ocean Course, Kiawah Island SC, this fall. Both my daughter and I live in Minnesota. After interviewing a bunch of wedding planners we chose Amy because of her positivity and openness to ideas. I met with Amy in SC five months before the wedding. After that initial meeting my daughter and Amy and I were able to plan the most perfect day imaginable, all remotely via zoom and email. Amy made us feel like our project was her only project. She was detail oriented and easily accessible. She listened and gave sage design advice. In the end everything worked out seamlessly.

I felt my daughter’s vision was so perfectly executed by Amy. Having a wedding during COVID certainly presented us with challenges that were unforeseen. Amy helped us navigate the challenges, and coordinated every constantly changing detail seamlessly. I can’t imagine not having had Amy’s calm demeanor and expertise at the helm. On the day of the wedding, all was calm, and it was all about the bride, the groom and their marriage. A wonderful experience.

Amy may be the most prepared person I have ever met. I thought I had my wedding planned before I met Amy-- I was so wrong. Amy came in and took everything to a level I couldn't even imagine. No details were overlooked or forgotten. Through a monsoon on the morning of the wedding to my bustle breaking at least 5 times on the dance floor, Amy took care of EVERYTHING. Because we hired Amy my husband, our families, and I were able to actually enjoy our wedding 100% stress free.

I loved Amy from the first phone call I had with her. I immediately loved her personality and had full faith that she would not only create the most beautiful day for us but that the day would go seamlessly in her hands. Amy was the BEST wedding decision we made. She is incredibly organized, flexible, creative, and a wonderful person. She introduced me to amazing vendors, organized visits, attended every vendor meeting, and made sure everything was perfect the day of. She has an incredible talent of taking a bride’s vision and turning it into a reality that is above and beyond expectations. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful. So many friends and family have told us it was of the best weddings they have ever attended and I have to give Amy all of the credit for that. Coming from a very-type-A in the industry who didn't understand needing a planner (at all - forget COVID and everything in 2020): I said many times that no one ever told me wedding planning wasn't fun...! I OWE AMY EVERYTHING. She is the best of the best as a wedding pro, but also as a person. If you read no more, this nails it: my sister got engaged a month before our wedding and, not having even met yet, hired Amy to plan hers next May. There is NO better referral. Amy is a total rockstar. She is COOL and her job is to make your wedding yours - which is her pure talent. I swear she knew what I wanted before and better than I did (no easy feat), and still managed to totally blow us away on our wedding day. She will save your life a million times, become your other half overnight, somehow keep her cool for months on end, have your back no matter what, and make you feel like the only person/bride in her world at any given moment (insane because that is clearly not the case). She gets you and she asks questions before you even know you have them. She's there before, during and after and always has the right words - often hysterical and every time helpful. They say to simply hire the vendors you trust. I didn't plan to give up any sort of control, but you inevitably do (do it sooner!). I can confidently say that I trusted Amy with every single move from day 1 and it paid off in dividends. She was one of the best parts of that day - and my HUSBAND agrees!

Amy saved the day per usual! My husband and I were separated in different continents by travel bans due to Covid for the duration of our engagement. Needless to say had a very complicated situation. Amy helped us throw together an intimate ceremony with our close friends and family in a matter of 3 weeks. From the flowers to the day of set up, she put her magic touch on every detail at the wedding. We couldn't have the big celebration that we had both hoped for, but Amy helped make our last minute ceremony a night that we'll never forget. She's on top of every detail and there as a friend/therapist throughout the entire process - long or short. Can't recommend Amy enough!

Can't recommend Amy and Buttercup Events enough! When our original wedding in North Carolina crumbled due to the pandemic, we weren't sure what to do. We just knew we wanted to get married and start our lives. As we were reeling from the original plan falling apart, we started talking about where we could go with our parents, siblings and bridal party and still have a joyous celebration. We landed on Charleston - the place we got engaged. I lived in another state and LOVED Charleston but I had never been there with the eyes of a bride so I didn't know any vendors or where to begin. I stumbled across Buttercup Events Charleston and Amy online, and within a few hours we were on the phone chatting, and minutes later I told my fiance I found our new wedding planner! We had a little over two months to pull together a new plan, and gosh I was so thankful to have Amy helping us out. I'm a self-admitted super Type A planner, so the fact that I could relinquish my own control and trust her instantly spoke volumes. Amy instantly jumped into our new wedding plans and started picking up the pieces! Within a few days she had helped put together a great team of vendors, a vision and plan for our new wedding. Amy was great about checking in, answering questions, getting back to me via email, text or phone, connecting with our vendors, and really giving us a peace of mind. She helped keep everything on schedule and brought to life our dreams and vision to create the most beautiful, joyous and perfect celebration of our wedding!

As someone who works in the wedding industry, it is hard to let go and become a bride instead of a vendor, but Amy made that easy!
