social bubble. So after a decade together and in the midst of the pandemic, we didn't want to wait any longer to say our I Dos. We decided to have an intimate, private, family only wedding in September 2021 amidst the vineyards and lakes of Upstate NY. And that is exactly what it felt like working with Cathy and Ashley of C&A Event Planning - like working with family. The mother and daughter team is what drew us to this vendor and made their services so personal and unique. We ended up renting a house and planning a 5 day getaway for our families full of excursions, live music, a welcome BBQ, and an elegant family wedding dinner. Because of our jobs, we couldn't travel for any in-person viewings and tastings. But Ashley and Cathy were there every step of the way to help plan it all. They are both kind, creative, attentive to detail, care about what they do and the people they work with. The relationships C&A have with local vendors and their collaborations supporting local business is what sets them apart. Again, it's what makes working with them feel like family. We could not be more grateful for everything they did - it was truly a fairytale.

It was also a great sign that Ashley herself got married at my venue, so who else could know it better? “Day of coordination” is a bit of a misnomer, as Ashley was very helpful throughout the planning process leading up to the day of the wedding. She was very quick to respond to all of my emails and made the online payment and contract signing process very easy. She gave a lot of input about vendors and suggestions about layout and design. She also kept all the documents neatly organized on a shared Google drive. She sent numerous emails throughout the year to help keep this procrastinating bride on top of everything. We did two walkthroughs one about a year before and another a couple months before the wedding, which were both very helpful in planning my vision. Ashley was there for the rehearsal the day before and then worked her magic coordinating all my vendors the day of the wedding. Everything ran smoothly throughout the ceremony and reception. For the florals, Ashley took ideas from my Pinterest wedding board and input from our conversations to make a detailed proposal. They day of my wedding, she was there early to set up the ceremony and reception sites. The reception tables had beautiful garlands going down the long tables. The ceremony site was the most perfect explosion of eucalyptus and roses that I could have ever imagined! My vision (and Pinterest board) had come to life and so much more. I think she added even more florals to the ceremony site than originally planned and it was breathtaking to see for the first time, to walk down the aisle, and to look back upon time and time again in my pictures and video. Ashley was able to make adjustments the day of to my bridal bouquet and boutonnieres, to make everything perfect. My bouquet was the most gigantic and wild bouquet of my dreams and I did not want to put it down! Today, seven months later, my house is covered in the pressed and dried flowers and garlands that I cannot bear to throw away. Ashley was organized, informative, sweet, she was a pleasure to work with, and I cannot recommend C & A Event Planning enough. You will NOT regret hiring her!

s even when I decided to make changes at the last minute. They worked with me to repurpose flowers from the ceremony to the reception which was a huge budget saver. I wasn’t able to take all of my flowers home and C&A worked to donate our flowers to a local hospital! For planning, Ashley proactively checked-in regularly and was able to help with recommendations when I was in a pinch. They are very familiar with our venue which was also extremely helpful. Thank you C&A for everything!

so incredibly responsive and patient. We did the whole floral selection via email and she made it so simple to pick and choose. I met Cathy at the rehearsal the night before the wedding for the first time. She was very organized but so gentle and sweet. She was able to keep our rowdy crew focused long enough to learn where to stand and what to do so we didn’t look like a bunch of fools! On the day of the wedding when I saw our wedding venue completed with all the florals I teared up because the space was so incredibly beautiful! Our bouquets and the ceremony arch florals were absolutely to die for.....soooooo beautiful! During the ceremony Cathy was complete angel getting all of us in order and keeping me calm. n get overwhelmed with wedding planning. Ashley took care of everything in the months leading up to our wedding, subtly nudging when needed, and Cathy ran the show as our day-of coordinator. Our families loved Cathy and mentioned to me how calm she was on a very chaotic day (note to future brides/grooms: keep that rain plan handy). Everything was totally seamless, I passed off to Ashley and Cathy a box for our decor, ceremony and random elements, everything was elegantly displayed and where it should have been. I can’t imagine having taken care of all those details myself. Ashley and Cathy also took care of my flowers and they were stunning. I really didn’t know what I wanted. I sent Ashley a few Pinterest images, and she sent me a quote the next day. Super easy and the flowers were just what I had in mind but couldn’t articulate. They were gorgeous and fit our aesthetic perfectly (abundance, but not audacious). They even explained how to keep the air plant as a souvenir and it now sits in a globe in our living room. Give yourself a wedding present and hire Ashley and Cathy, they’re kind people who are great at their jobs.

There was never a lag in communication and they checked in with me along the way to assure that I was feeling good about everything. Ashley & Cathy came the day before to drop things off at the venue & run through rehearsal and check in, and then earl the day of the wedding to helped set everything up. They right away understood my vision for the wedding and the flowers (bouquet & arbor & table settings) were EXACTLY what I imagined and dreamed of. They went so nicely with all the rental items, and they did an amazing job putting it all together. They made sure that all the additional items I brought were displayed just so, and nothing got lost, misplaced or broken. Everything was virtually flawless, and the ladies kept me calm and feeling like a queen. I loved working with C&A Event Planning and I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking to have a personal and individualized approach to wedding planning. They truly go above and beyond what is expected.

typical couple or venue. Our wedding location was on my in-law’s property, and we were planning an outdoor ceremony under the pine trees with reception under a tent. We also had a 5.5-month-old, so I knew that I couldn’t do all the planning by myself with a baby! Ashley & Cathy met with us onsite early on in the planning and helped flesh out site layout and design. Over the course of many months of planning, Ashley kept me organized, on track and provided guidance while choosing my vendors, etc. For florals, my father in law grows dahlias that we wanted to use as part of our arrangements. Ashley & Cathy worked with me to come up with arrangements that utilized the dahlias and also pulled together the rustic country theme I was looking for. They came to our site the day before to cut the fresh flowers and arranged everything on site in order to ensure that the arrangements were fresh for our big day. My father in law also had a spectacular lily that just bloomed the day before our wedding, so he offered it to them to include in my bouquet. They pulled off one of the most stunning floral arrangements I could imagine (our photographer even commented on how beautiful it was!). Cathy went above and beyond when decorating under the tent as well – she used every last bit of greenery she had and decorated our pallet bar and other finishing touches that weren’t even included in our floral contract. As for the day of coordination… again, I don’t think I could have ever pulled off my vision without Ashley and Cathy. When we woke up on the day of our wedding it was gray and pouring rain. Ashley and Cathy remained calm and got to work in decorating the tent and ceremony site. They were ready to use plan B (everything under the tent) if the weather didn’t cooperate. However, the weather miraculously shifted and the day ended up being beautiful and sunny just in time for the 4 pm outdoor ceremony under the pines. Ashley and Cathy worked all day in the messy weather preparing the site and then continued to help ensure the ceremony and reception ran smoothly. We had so many compliments from guests on how beautiful everything looked and how smoothly everything went. I can’t thank Ashley and Cathy enough for helping to bring the vision I had for my wedding day to life. It was a magical day!

We were relying on our family for a lot of support in the planning process, but we knew that as the wedding approached we did not want our family to be stressed out on the big day- that’s where Ashley and Cathy came in! We met with Cathy several months before the wedding to go over details, and she put our minds at ease as she shared her wisdom and knowledge from her almost 30 years in the event industry! We had several phone conversations with Ashley throughout the whole process, and she made a huge effort to learn about and understand our aesthetic and vision for the day- which she executed perfectly in ways that were better than we could have ever imagined. In addition to being available and responsive to all of our ideas, questions, and concerns leading up to the wedding, Ashley and Cathy came out to our venue the day before to go over any last-minute details and rehearsals. Again, they put our minds at ease as they handled all of our anxiety-driven questions and concerns with the utmost patience, organization, and attention to detail. On the day of the wedding, Ashley and Cathy handled everything from directing guests, managing the catering staff, setting up table decorations, and facilitating the timeline of the ceremony and reception. We did not have to worry or stress about a single thing the whole day! And if any of us had a question or concern, Ashley and Cathy were there to handle it in a way that appeared effortless!
