Cake by Alissa

Alissa made us a 2-tier lemon cake and ginger molasse sheet cake for our wedding in October. Everything turned out delicious and people are still raving about how good everything was. She was very responsive and helpful during the entire process. Would highly recommend!

For our wedding, we decided to do cupcakes in a variety of flavors and a small ceremony cake. Alissa's cupcakes and cake were incredible, and our guests were raving about how delicious everything was! Alissa was so easy to work with and everything came out better than we could have imagined! We will definitely be using Alissa for all of our cake needs in the future!

I hired Alissa to make a small cake and a bunch of cupcakes for my wedding and everything was PERFECT! The cupcakes were to die for and even friends and family that don't have a sweet tooth were raving about them! Alissa was also great to work with and so friendly!! 10/10 experience!

Alissa is AMAZING. Not only was the cake absolutely delicious (I've had multiple people rave about how good it was 2 weeks after the fact), but she made our vision come to life. I ordered a cake to feed 100 and 2 dozen cupcakes for 120 people. I fully expected to take home some desserts as I know some people don't eat sweets. There was NOTHING left for me to take home. I'm extremely happy with how everything turned out and would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Alissa made our ideas come to life. We had a budget friendly cake but still wanted something to pop and look amazing. She did just that. It was the best tasting cake we've ever had too. So good in fact that we ate the anniversary tier two days later. We will be contacting her to make us a little one in a year!

I could not have been happier with the cake Alissa made for my wedding. She was great and helpful to work with during the design process. I showed her a picture for inspiration, and she created a cake exactly how I wanted. The best part was how delicious the cake tasted. We specifically asked for a slightly bigger cake than we needed just to have some leftovers. My fiancé and I loved having the cake for a few nights after the wedding. We had the pleasure of having our wedding cake made by Alissa. I was planning a very last-minute, mini-wedding in Saratoga Springs from Long Island. Our wedding was 1/2/21, the day after New Years. My mom mostly worked with Alissa, but I wanted to write this review to say how amazing she is, how amazing her cake was, and how above and beyond she went for us. Alissa not only made us a perfect/delicious cake (one tier was gingerbread and one tier was vanilla bourbon), she went out of her way to deliver the cake to the restaurant for us. She was supposed to be out of town, and made it a point to help us in this way. Not only will I never forget how yummy that cake was, I will never forget the pure kindness Alissa showed my husband and I during such a stressful time. Finding Alissa, was like finding a gem! From the moment we walked into her storefront and sat down for our tasting we knew that Alissa was perfect for us! The tasting was magical, as we got to choose flavors a head of time, but then were able to try as many different combinations of those flavors as we wanted to! Choosing which combinations to go with was probably the hardest part, because there were no bad choices! Being from out of state, Alissa was great to work with via email and answered all of our questions we had forgotten to ask while we were in the shop! When we needed to move our wedding date because of the pandemic she didn’t even bat an eye when helping us move to our new date. Since we had to move our date because of the pandemic we had been dreaming of our cake for over a year, and the first bite was no disappointment, in fact better than we even remembered! Our guests have commented on how great the cake was, and even after being frozen while we were away on our honeymoon it was delicious when we had a piece the other night and we are looking forward to enjoying our anniversary cake next year together!

Alissa was an absolute pleasure to work with. I was a pest and asked her a million questions, but she was always patient with me and gave me honest feedback. And the most important thing of course, was the cake: it was INCREDIBLE. Not only was it beautiful and everything I had envisioned and more, but it actually tasted delicious. I've been to countless weddings and have literally never liked the cake, so it's awesome to be able to say that I genuinely loved my own wedding cake. Plus she gave us a mini cake in a totally different flavor combination to cut on our one-year anniversary. I give this vendor 5 gold stars. Thank you, Alissa!

Alissa is an OUTSTANDING baker! I and my whole family are self-professed "foodies," so finding a cake that actually tasted good for our wedding day was going to be - I thought - quite a task. I spoke to some very well-known places in the area known for wedding cakes, and they either were inconsistent with their communication or their prices were INSANE. We were looking for some kind of gluten free option, and after speaking with Alissa on the phone, and navigating her website, we found we had so many options it was unbelievable. We met her at a local coffee shop to do our cake-tasting (with cupcakes!), and couldn't believe what we were eating... I'm one to do lots of research, and I don't like to "pull the trigger" so to speak on something before I've done adequate "vetting" LOL, but after that taste, there was no way we could go with anyone else. We had 30 people, three layers: bottom chocolate, middle yellow, top GF chocolate, with two layers of filling: cannoli and mocha, with buttercream frosting. I'm salivating just remembering how delicious, how moist and chocolatey it was... And she gave us a completely separate layer to freeze for our one-year anniversary. $200. Can't beat it. I'll say it again - OUTSTANDING! Highly recommended!!

Our guests were over the moon with our cake! We ordered an almond flavored cake w/ raspberry. The flavor was impeccable and everyone was literally "OOooing" and "Aaahing" while eating. I was so pleased! Alissa was a pleasure to work with. She was responsive and delivery was on-time. Highly highly recommend!!!

Cake by Alissa Words cannot do her cake & cupcakes justice.  They were the most delicious cupcakes we've EVER had!  The guests at our wedding absolutely raved about them and took home seconds at the end of the night!!  Alissa was great to work with, reasonably priced, communicative, and down to earth. Highly recommend!

Alissa did such an amazing job with the cupcakes for our wedding, it's hard to put into words. The display that she set up with our vendor turned out absolutely amazing. All of the different types of cupcakes and our cutting cake looked beautiful, especially given the fact that we had such a large wedding! The best part of all, however, was how incredible they tasted. We have never seen a wedding where all of the cupcakes and cake were eaten so fast by the guests (and we bought more than 1 per person too!). There were only a handful left by the end of the night! The taste and setup exceeded our every expectation. This is largely due to how receptive and responsive Alissa was to our emails and communications; whenever we had a question or looked for some advice, she was there to help us and seemed excited to do it. We will certainly be recommending her to all of our family and friends, and we can't wait to order more cakes/cupcakes with Alissa for our own future celebrations!

Our cake was beautiful, tasted amazing. Affordable. Alissa was a pleasure to work with. 1-star ding for a slight decoration malfunction, but it happens.

We can't thank Alissa enough for the incredibly delicious wedding cakes. She was awesome to work with and patient with us and we tasted multiple combinations of cake /buttercream and frosting flavors to come up with the best choices for our summer wedding. The end result was fantastic! We look forward to returning for future cakes.

Our guests loved our cupcakes! They were all delicious, and we loved being able to select a unique variety of flavors. We had 6 different flavors, and they were all excellent. Alissa was great to work with, and we had a lot of fun during our tasting.

Alissa did a wonderful job on a small slicing cake for my wife and I. Even though it was not a large wedding cake in the traditional sense, just as much detail and care went into it. The cake looked beautiful and was made to fit into our autumn theme; it tasted great too!

Alissa did an amazing job on our wedding cake!! It was so beautiful and absolutely delicious! We did a four tier cake with multiple flavored layers: vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling and white buttercream frosting, and strawberry cake with cannoli filling and white buttercream frosting. Amazing! We had several guests tell us it was the best cake they've ever had. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and we definitely recommend Cake by Alissa!

Our experience with Cake by Alissa was great from our first email to the last delicious bite. We do not live locally, so we could not set up a tasting or meet in person so based on other reviews, we made the best decision ever to go with Alissa Woods for our wedding!!!! The cake was absolutely gorgeous, with fresh flowers, it made for the perfect Fall Wedding Cake of my dreams! We decided to go with the Guinness chocolate cake with Baileys Irish cream butter cream. The top layer was Gluten Free, and trust me it was the best gluten free cake I have ever had. My husband tried it and couldn't even tell the difference. She also made us chocolate chip and blueberry muffins as a evening snack, and wow it was delicious! Everyone was asking who the baker was, it was a huge hit. Thank you so much Alissa!!!!

We had cupcakes for the guests and a cake to cut. Everything was amazing! Best cake we have ever had!

Alissa was totally awesome. My husband and I don't like fondant and Alissa has the best butter cream frosting that was so tasty that I had way too much cake during out tasting it was just so good! She was very accommodating to taste, style, and budget! She made us a three tier Strawberry shortcake (which was too die for!), in addition she also made cupcakes: "His" = Red Velvet, "Hers" = Mint Chocolate Chip, and "Ours" = Strawberry Shortcake. Our wedding guests LOVED the cake and the cupcakes by the end of the night they were all gone! Alissa has a great little shop and when you go to your tasting make sure to take some home for later, because you'll want to share what you tasted with your family and just will want to have some extra for later anyway! Alissa was very flexible to work with, she even helped me create a surprise groom cake for my husband with all of his favorite brewery logos on it. It was a wonderful surprise at our rehearsal dinner and he loved it!! If you're looking for delicious taste and a beautiful cake and you're on a budget, hire Alissa, she will take care of you and give you the best cake/cupcakes for your wedding day!

To me, the cake thing should be simple and fun, and dealing with Alissa- it was! She was great to work with, the cake was just what we wanted, and it was delicious. She also gives you the option of an anniversary mini-cake fresh for your 1st anniversary so you don't have to store cake for a year. No other baker we talked to offered this. I would recommend her to everyone!

We did cupcakes and a cake top! Perfect combo! Alissa made the planning easy, we had a great testing! We had 2 different flavors for the cupcakes both moist and amazing. Our guests loved them we had none left, which was funny to us since we heard no one ever eats cake! She does an excellent job!

I met Alissa at a bridal show and set up an appointment to sample some different flavors, she had 6 cupcakes and a variety of fillings and frostings for us to sample, with some extra to take home! We were blown away and had a hard time picking which flavors we wanted since it was so good. We went with a yellow cake, raspberry filling and a cream cheese frosting. It looked beautiful AND tasted amazing! I heard several guests say it was the best wedding cake they had ever had!

We loved working with Alissa! The cake tasting was fun--she brought us several flavors of cake in cupcake form and several cups of frosting and fillings so we could try different combinations. We went with the dark chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and the white cake with lemon filling and meringue frosting. I'm not a big cake person, but these cakes were FABULOUS. They were beautiful, delicious, and very reasonably priced. (We purchased a small decorative cake for the head table, and sheet cakes for 200 guests for $185!) We also ordered a dozen gluten-free cupcakes, which surprised and delighted our guests with gluten allergies who had already resigned themselves to forgoing cake....we loved having that option! I also should mention that we didn't have a specific vision for our decorative cake...we let Alissa be creative and come up with a design based on some leftover decorative materials we gave her, and it turned out more beautiful than we could have imagined! We highly recommend Cakes by Alissa!

Three people in the wedding party were lactose intolerant (including bride) so we made the whole cake and cupcakes lactose free icing. No one noticed they tasted so good! Alissa also brought the cake samples to us at another appointment and we got to keep the extras! Couldnt have asked for a better cake or nicer person
