If you are thinking about going to Cameo Bridal Salon & Boutique, DON’T. When making the appointment, I was honest in saying I had an appointment at a different salon the day before and asked if I would be able to get my appointment deposit back if I found a dress, the answer was no. I understood and respected that and excitedly kept the appointment.
I was lucky enough to find a gown I loved at another shop, but still wanted to look at options at Cameo. As I arrived, I voiced that to my consultant (and OWNER) of the store, Gina. Within about 10 minutes, I was in my second gown. Upon finding out I had purchased a dress at a different shop, Gina’s tone completely changed. Without considering the fact I could possibly want a different dress for either a second wedding dress, or any other bridal event, she voiced that me looking at other gowns was a waste of my time, her time, and her resources. She went on to say that she would’ve refunded my deposit and I wouldn’t have had to come in. Again, the website AND the phone call I had with Cameo, said I will not get that deposit back. Either way, I wanted to try on more gowns.
She casually mentioned that Cameo had bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses, but was too busy talking about her next bride to another consultant and hastily putting the dresses she picked for me to try on away, to follow up on that offer. As we were uncomfortably packing our belongings in preparation to leave the store, she felt the need to came up to me and say, “I hope you’re not mad at me” with a big smile on her face. Stunned, I had absolutely nothing to say. Regardless of if I had already purchased a gown or not, I had paid for my appointment and had EVERY right to have the opportunity to try on more gowns.
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed about shopping for wedding dresses with my mother. After not seeing my mom for almost a year, she flew to me to spend the weekend shopping for dresses. I went into Cameo, excited to continue my dream weekend with my mom, that dream was rudely taken from me from the owner of a bridal salon.
To say I was disappointed with my experience at Cameo Bridal and Gina would be severe understatement. Gina took away an experience I’ll only have once. She was impersonal, aggressive, offensive, and downright rude. I will happily be steering everyone I know away from shopping at Cameo Bridal Salon & Boutique.
