This is a gorgeous site with great staff! We just had our 4/19/25 wedding here with around 100 people. Lindsey was so awesome and responsive every step of the way.
I know what I was looking for when reading reviews to find a venue, so hopefully this info is helpful for you!
This is definitely a DIY spot - there are rentals that help a lot too though, like the cake and cupcake stands & directional signage. A golf cart is also available - the paths are easy to walk, but it was a big help to get older folk from the parking lot to the ceremony site and back. I'd recommend going to an open house and checking out google reviews to see the best layout that would work for your group. Nearly everything is moveable, and there are four different ceremony spots (one is covered, for inclement weather).
The site really came alive at night with the path lighting and stargazing, so I'd recommend using the fire pits and spending a lot of time outside if you can.
For timing - our weather was overcast and a little muggy (high of 83, low of 60), with a surprise storm at night. The trees are just beginning to bloom so there's some greenery and also lovely spring flowers like daffodils around the site along the paths. Bees and mosquitos are just starting to show up but weren't a big issue at any point.
Good luck, and happy planning!
We had our Halloween wedding at Camp Hidden Valley and it was everything we could have hoped for! Lindsey and Leslie were so helpful, from letting us visit the venue multiple times prior to the big day, to making sure everything was ready the day of, they were there to answer all our questions and made the overall process of booking with them so simple.
The cabins were perfect for our guests to stay the night and we loved our after party bonfire! Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the venue was!
We can’t thank the team at Camp Hidden Valley enough, our day was absolutely perfect and we highly recommend them!
Camp Hidden Valley was great for our DIY wedding in the woods. We rented the venue for two nights, which I'd definitely recommend if it's in your budget. Our guests from out of town appreciated the option to stay in the cabins onsite. My only recommendation for the venue would be to update the planning documents given to couples because a lot of the information was inconsistent (i.e. number of rooms / beds per cabin was listed differently on different documents). As other reviews have mentioned, this type of venue is a lot of work, but doable if you plan ahead and especially if you have friends and family who are willing to help.
Absolutely incredible.
I wanted to do a whimsical faerie vibe, and this gorgeous venue made that possible.
We rented 48hrs from 2pm Tuesday-2pm Wednesday(and some furniture) for a little over 6k, 1250 of that was a refundable deposit.
Working with leslye and her husband was awesome, Leslye answered all my questions throughout the year leading up. They created a text thread so we could ask for anything during our rental time. There is a noise ordinance at 11pm which is a bit of a bummer but so long as we turn it down to reasonable volume we could still party till the sun came up.
The lodge was delightful and comfortable, all the cabins were comfy too. I was told the yurt wasn't very comfortable, got a little humid but it is a tent after all.
The wooded area provides such an amazing spot for photos, and since I initially checked out the venue they had put in this beautiful stone walk way to the clearing where we held our ceremony and they put in a sturdier Arch.
I fully recommend renting two days if you can, we selected weekdays because it was in our budget and you get more bang for you buck when you can rent two days. We were able to set up the night before so we could wake up the day of and start makeup and everything else on a timely manner. I do suggest creating additional signage for your guests since our makeup artist got a little turned around.
Overall I give this venue a 10/10
Great location. Beautiful drive from Baltimore, comfortable accommodations, an excellent getting ready room off the kitchen, and wonderful property owners who seem to genuinely care that we enjoy ourselves.
My husband and I are big into camping and hiking so when we found this venue in the woods we immediately jumped on it! I was able to have my wedding in the woods with beautiful string lights all around. We were able to rent the venue for the entire weekend which was cheaper than other venues that you can only rent for a couple hours. There are cabins on site, including a beautifully renovated bridal suite and hotel style cabins for our parents, so guests had an option to stay for free and didn’t have to worry about driving. Leslye and Tony were super accommodating and even let us come to the venue a few days before our wedding to brain storm with one of our vendors the best place for them to set up. All our guests had a great time and commented on how it was such a unique and fun experience!
This venue was beautiful and was a fantastic place to have a wedding. Our guests compared the outdoor ceremony to Narnia and described the indoor as cozy/rustic chic. Camp Hidden Valley is definitely a DIY venue, so I recommend it for strong planners OR if you’re not (like me), have the capability of putting all hands on deck to help with things like setting up chairs and decor, directing/parking cars, starting the bonfire, cleaning up all the spaces you used afterwards, etc. Leslye was helpful with ordering the additional rentals that I desired for the day that were not included with the venue. She had connections, so it was not too expensive for me to add those on. Overall, we loved Camp Hidden Valley and are so thankful we had our wedding there.
We could not have asked for a better venue and a better couple that runs the venue! We were able to visit multiple times prior to the big day (weekend) and Leslye was extremely responsive to all of our inquiries. The property has SO much to offer and so many possibilities for any event being held there. Leslye and Tony were so personable and respectful! We rented the property for the entire weekend and many of our gets had the opportunity to stay the night which was a huge plus for us. They are definitely making some major improvements to the property and the buildings on the property and everything looks amazing!
We were married at Camp Hidden Valley on 10/16/21 and it was an unforgettable and amazing day. This venue was everything we hoped it would be and the owners were awesome, helpful, and responsive every step of the way! The space, fire pit, coziness, and atmosphere made everything such a unique experience for our guests. We partied late into the night and our family and friends loved that they could stay in the cabins or camp and the party didn't have to end! Tony and Leslye are great- they were flexible but also gave great recommendations. We are already hoping to plan a anniversary/reunion party in the future!
Camp Hidden Valley at Deer Creek Preserve was the only venue my fiancé and I visited, because we knew it was “the one” as soon as we stepped foot on the grounds and took the tour with Leslye. She and her husband, Tony, are both incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and professional, and they consistently made us feel completely at ease and supported in any and every way we needed. Much like the level of service we received from them, the venue itself is also the definition of perfect. The fact that we could rent it out for an entire weekend AND use all of the cabins for overnight lodging was a massive selling point. We used the property for our rehearsal dinner (which we kept casual), and our wedding, which was perfectly cozy and intimate. The wood burning fireplace inside the Grand Lodge and the wood burning fire pit in the outdoor pavilion where we had our ceremony elevated our entire aesthetic and atmosphere, and made our celebration feel so different from any we’ve been to before. I could write on and on and ON about how thankful we are to Leslye, Tony, and their property for giving us the wedding weekend of our dreams (better than our dreams, actually), but I’ll stop here. I’ll finish by saying: you will NOT be disappointed if you choose to get married in this magical spot! Thank you again!!!!
Leslye & Tony are freaking amazing!! They have been so helpful since day one. As soon as I seen this venue online I wanted it! At first every Saturday was booked this fall so I asked Leslye to please let me know if anyone was to cancel. The next night she reached out to me to let me know they had a Saturday open back up! Before making any decisions they let us come check at the venue to make sure it was everything we wanted. As soon as we seen it we knew. The coolest part was being able to rent the whole entire camp ground for the entire weekend! We were able to set up Friday night which was super helpful. Leslye & Tony made sure we had all the information we needed to stay. Any questions i had they got back to me right away. They were both super nice and made this is experience stress free. There are so many different places to crash even a school bus the renovated! The bridal suite was to die for! It’s super cute and up to date inside. It was the perfect place for my bridesmaids and I to get ready. There is many places you can choose from to have your ceremony as well and they made sure all the leaves were clean and ready for us. The best part about the final walk through was their boxer Roxy! We got to play ball while they did the final walk through for us! I highly recommend camp hidden valley you will not regret it!!!!
We booked this venue a solid 2 years prior to our wedding date of 10/23/21 and over the course of these two years we have nothing but positive comments. Lesley and Tony let us walk the venue on 4 different occasions, we're always helpful in our questions, gave us forms with exact dimensions of everything inside the lodge, let us bring our pup, and we're helpful in giving advice for our weekend there.
Since we did book so far in advance we were able to book the camp from Friday to Sunday, so we checked in Friday at 2pm and left Sunday at 11am. we also got to see how much the venue was updated and cared for- new bridal suite, buses for sleeping, and updated spaces. Lesley and Tony also helped with our rentals, we needed a golf cart and sheets for 13 beds and they took care of everything and gave us a very reasonable invoice for what else was needed.
The day of our wedding it started to rain (it's good luck though!) And Lesley and Tony came out, cleaned off the benches, left extra towels and extra umbrellas for our guests.
On Sunday they did start the check out process at 1015, but it was helpful, so that whatever we had to fix (we just had to take an extra trash out) we could get done before the 11am check out.
Overall, we had an excellent experience with the owners and are absolutely in love with the pictures of the camp and woods behind us!
Deer Creek Preserve is truly a magical place & was the perfect venue for our 2-night wedding celebration in September 2021. Our guests loved everything about the venue: they found the beds in the cabins to be comfortable, enjoyed the peaceful ambiance of the fairy lights hanging throughout the property, enjoyed the nature trails & bald eagle sightings, and especially enjoyed the fire pits at night. A few of our guests have already asked us to throw a one year anniversary party. (This is definitely under consideration). I also want to give a shout out to Leslye & Tony. They were fabulous & fair to work with, up front and clear about everything in the contract, super responsive to all of my emails & shared some great ideas for how to use the amenities on the site for our wedding day. My only regret is that we didn’t book the property for 3 nights.
It was really a beautiful place. Being in the woods is just so peaceful. The best part was they let you decorate how ever you wanted, you could chose a caterer or even just drop off, also the alcohol part you can bring your own or have some one else do it for you. Which really can help with the cost if you don’t want to spend a lot of money. The only problem I had with it was that they have a lot of tables in the lodge and pavilion so if you don’t want to use them than you have to move them somewhere else and have to put them back when your done. So if you don’t have a wedding planner/decorator that is a lot of work on you. Luckily all my family helped and we managed to get it all done and clean the whole place up by 11am. So it is due-able just a lot of work. All and all it was a really beautiful place especially at night with the lights. All of my guests enjoyed it and kept saying it was a beautiful place. Also the day that we got there Tony was really hands on with all my questions and helped accommodate our dog that we ended up bringing last minute. He got him a dog bed and bowls it was really nice because that was the only thing I forgot to bring. He really wanted to make sure we weren’t stressing so we could have a good wedding day. I would highly recommend this place!
Loved the entire indoor/outdoor area for our use. Rented it for both Rehearsal and Wedding for an entire weekend experience. Beautiful area in the woods, and great facilities for our use. Nothing was lacking.
We used outdoor pavilion for Rehearsal bbq dinner and indoors on a crisp autumn evening for the wedding. The entire experience was fun, comfortable and magical! The newly renovated bridal suite was so rustic yet all new.
Nice job! Great location and great support from owners - highly recommend
We rented Camp Hidden Valley for the weekend for our daughters wedding. It was the perfect venue! Rehearsal took place on the property and the bridal party, along with some family members, spent the night in the cabins on the property. We had access to the outdoor pavilion complete with fire pit, any and all cabins on the property and the huge reception hall. Our guests loved this venue and enjoyed a wedding weekend. I cannot say enough about how much fun everyone had! Our guests are still buzzing about our wedding at Camp Hidden Valley!!
