Cape May Beach Weddings by Washington Inn Catering

We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue or a better team for our wedding! The grounds were absolutely stunning and impeccably maintained, and everything from the food to the displays was beautifully done. Our guests were so impressed by both the presentation and quality of the food. What especially stood out was the incredible team. Everyone was hardworking, kind, friendly, and genuinely committed to giving us the wedding we envisioned. Lindsey is exceptional. She is incredibly professional, organized, and skilled at what she does. Her experience and deep understanding of how to run a seamless wedding were evident every step of the way. She coordinated effortlessly with all of the other vendors, making sure everyone was on the same page and that everything came together seamlessly. She anticipated potential issues before they became problems and always seemed to have a solution ready. We felt completely taken care of throughout the entire experience. It was clear how much effort Lindsey and the whole team put into making our day special, and we are so grateful for everything they did to bring our wedding to life. They made our wedding everything we hoped it would be and more!

There is hospitality, and then there is the kind of hospitality that makes an incredibly complicated event somehow feel effortless. Lindsey DeBaun and the team at the Washington Inn gave us the latter. My husband and I own a restaurant in NYC, so we came into our wedding weekend with both an enormous appreciation for this industry and, admittedly, a very clear understanding of what it takes behind the scenes to execute an event well. What Lindsey and her team accomplished for us was exceptional. The Washington Inn hosted our rehearsal dinner on Saturday evening and then catered our wedding the following day at my family’s home in Cape May. These were two completely different events, and our wedding in particular was anything but a traditional catering setup. We wanted the evening to unfold organically rather than around a formal seated dinner. Our guests went from our ceremony, to the beach, and finally back to our family home for an intimate garden party. Food appeared throughout the evening in waves, from beach service to passed hors d’oeuvres, stations and more substantial offerings later in the night. Lindsey understood the vision immediately and, more importantly, understood how to actually execute it. She helped coordinate everything from beach service to staffing, rentals and the tent company. She worked within the realities of catering at a private home, helped us think through setup and flow, coordinated all the little pieces that guests never see, and remained incredibly responsive through countless check-ins and changes leading up to the weekend. Then, on the wedding day, it all just happened. That may be the highest compliment I can give someone in our industry. We know how much work goes into making something look effortless. Lindsey was everywhere she needed to be without ever making the event feel managed. Her stewardship of the entire evening allowed Paul and I to simply be guests at our own wedding. And her staff reflected that same level of hospitality. I am pregnant as well, and throughout the night members of her team quietly found me to make sure I had eaten, asked if I needed anything, and genuinely looked after me. It wasn't scripted service. It was thoughtful, intuitive hospitality, and I noticed and appreciated every bit of it. The rehearsal dinner at the Washington Inn was equally wonderful. After spending months making decisions, coordinating vendors and thinking about our wedding, being able to walk into the Inn the night before and simply enjoy dinner with our family was such a gift. The food, service and atmosphere were exactly what we hoped they would be. But what I will remember most is Lindsey herself. Her communication before the weekend, her follow-through, her calm presence onsite, her flexibility, and the ownership she took over every detail gave us tremendous confidence from beginning to end. Our wedding weekend was deeply personal to us, and trusting another hospitality team with such an important part of it was not something we took lightly. Lindsey and the Washington Inn exceeded what we hoped for and gave us the rarest thing you can give two restaurant owners on their own wedding day: the ability to stop thinking about all the things that needed to get done and simply to enjoy it.
