Caprock Winery

My fiance and I booked our wedding at Caprock Winery a year before the wedding date and everything was wonderful. The management and owners were more than accomodating, telling us we could change the prepaid headcount up until the week of the wedding and get a refund for the difference, that we could set up the reception room the day before the wedding and clean up the day after with no issues. The month before our big day, the winery was sold to another set of owners who caused nothing but problems. When we called over 2 weeks before the wedding and wanted to change our headcount by 20 people (a difference of $700), they said they couldn't do that and offered us a "credit" for each person at our wedding who signed up for their new Wine Club instead. I was not happy with that because I'm not going to throw a sales pitch out to my family and friends in order to get our money back, so I just left it alone. The day before the wedding we went to set up the reception room and were told we couldn't set up until the day of but that they would take care of all of the setup decorations and centerpieces. We got to the winery on the day of the wedding about 3 hours early and NOTHING was set up. There were no tables and chairs anywhere to be seen, let alone the decorations being set up. They were setting up chairs outside and wiping them off literally while guests started arriving. After the wedding, my husband and I left early believing my family and friends would be back in the morning to clean everything up. Unbeknownst to myself and my husband, the winery made them clean everything up after the wedding before they left. So after an exhausting day of wedding preparation and the wedding itself, my wonderful family and friends stayed behind and cleaned everything up as well. The only saving grace in the entire thing is Leah, an employee at the winery was WONDERFUL! Without her, this review would've been WAYYYYY worse! The winery itself is a beautiful location; however, there should be a better option for bad weather (it was raining and windy the day of the wedding and there was no inside option) and the bridal suite is up a narrow set of stairs. That made it inconvenient and a bit dangerous getting up and down the stairs in all of our dresses and heels.

Interviewed, but went with another venue. Had a difficult time getting in contact with the event planner and was not able to coordinate a day to tour the venue.

Amazing and beautiful venue but not worth what you pay for time your allowed to be there.
