Capulet

The capulet was great from start to finish. There were a few hiccups with the amount of people at the wedding and the addition of extras that didn't make it into the final count, but everything was handled and the day of could not have been better. They work with reputable vendors and are professional. Additionally, the food was impeccable and so was the bar service.

Capulet was a dream to work with throughout the process of planning our wedding. They clearly communicated with my partner and I at key milestones, organized a few special events (like a dinner + wine tasting for our parents), and were a joy to work with. I particularly appreciated how they have beautiful indoor and outdoor options (important in New Orleans weather!) that require minimal decoration to look great. Also, since they're a restaurant during the week, the food is excellent and reasonably priced. Easy five stars!

Everyone at The Capulet is incredible to work with. We had an amazing wedding there, and they made sure to go above and beyond to make the day perfect for us. The venue is beautiful and our guests loved it.

We were married at Capulet in February 2024. It was a dream working with Stefanie, she was so patient even when I couldn’t make up my mind/changed things around. They made my floor plan come to life and even though we had rain and had to move the ceremony inside, it was so so so beautiful. It was affordable compared to other venues and the option to do bar and food in house made it even more convenient. Absolutely recommend the team at Capulet!

Having our wedding at Capulet was the BEST choice we could have ever made!!! The staff, the food, the venue, was incredible and the entire process was so easy and stress free. Our day could not have been more perfect. Steve and Stefanie were incredibly helpful and Chef Matt helped us create a custom menu & food was UNREAL!!!! Our guests had such an amazing time!!!

Capulet was SUCH a wonderful venue! Steve and his team were attentive to detail and communicative throughout the planning process. The space is gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommend!

We can’t say enough good things about Capulet! We were out of town while planning the wedding and did a virtual tour. It looked beautiful virtually and through pictures but were blown away when we got to see it in person. The space is amazing, the food is spectacular, and the whole team was phenomenal. Everyone on the staff from the chef to bartenders to Steve the owner made the day seamless and enjoyable. Still dreaming about the delicious passed appetizers, barbecue brisket, and signature cocktails they made for us. Wish we could go back to that day!

We had a wonderful experience working with the Capulet to host our wedding ceremony and reception. Their team was incredibly kind and easy to work with - we felt well taken care of throughout the entire wedding planning process. They had no problem accommodating our special requests, and made many helpful suggestions about how to best utilize the space. Their kitchen put together a fantastic menu for our guests spanning local New Orleans cuisine as well as some Nigerian dishes, which were all delicious. We have nothing but good things to say about our experience at Capulet.

Steve + the whole Capulet team were amazing to work with for our Rehearsal Dinner & Welcome Party for our wedding! A full stop, turnkey event space that has their stuff super together with a staff that's on top of everything. Honestly one of the best experiences we had with any of our venues in New Orleans.

When searching for the perfect wedding venue, my husband and I must have toured at least 6 or 7 other locations in New Orleans, each of which had its own unique history and charm - which is what we wanted, but nothing really seemed to speak to us. The moment we walked into Capulet, we knew. And we are so thrilled that we made the decision to hold our event there. In the 8 months leading up to and including our wedding, Steve Nutting and his team were nothing short of amazing. The venue itself is visually striking, but Steve's telling of the history of the building and its standing amongst the Bywater community really touched us in a way that made the resilience of the building and the surrounding community something we very closely related to. Stefanie, Capulet's event coordinator, is absolutely stellar and super-responsive, and although Chef Pony Schwartz stepped in mid-way through the planning phase, her creativity in crafting a super unique menu with us was probably the most fun of it all. The organization, execution and overall delivery of our wedding day was nothing short of magical, and we have Steve, Stefanie, Pony and the rest of the Capulet crew to thank for hosting what was not only one of the most important days of our new life together, but words cannot express the gratitude and appreciation we have for their patience and graciousness with us every step of the way. Last of all, the pricing structure can't be beat and was worth every penny. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check out Capulet and get to know Steve and his wonderful staff there. It's an absolute gem, in a low-traffic area and a gorgeous part of what can be considered true New Orleans. We consider them part of the family now, and look forward to seeing them again the next time we pay NOLA a visit in our travels!

Words can hardly explain how perfect the Capulet was for us for our June '24 wedding! Stefanie and Steve were so easy to work with and we had such an enjoyable experience during the entire planning period! Although our wedding day was rainy, the plan B of getting married inside the venue was even more gorgeous than I could of imagined! Our guests have complemented our wedding so much and have stated it was the best venue they have ever been to! I AGREE! Chef Pony helped us create an amazing menu!! Our guests also loved the food :) I could not recommend the Capulet more. A New Orleans gem!

Steve and his team were absolutely fantastic throughout the wedding planning process and especially on the night of. The team was organized, responsive and truly cared about our experience and that of our guests. Our guests could not stop talking about the food, even weeks/months afterwards. Truly, could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding night!

We got married here in June 2024 and it was an absolute pleasure working with the Capulet team. Steve and Stefanie were calm and organized, highly flexible when it came to working with us on the unique and quirky elements we wanted to make the wedding feel like us and overall just good, kind people. Additionally, the space is spectacular -- our guests all commented on how beautiful it was and everyone even liked the rooftop for the ceremony despite the heat. I couldn't imagine a better experience for a wedding -- highly, highly recommend.

Julia and I had the perfect wedding day and Capulet was a major reason for it. Steve and Stefanie were both super helpful during the planning process and wedding day. The work they put in as well as the whole staff was incredible and made our day even more special. The venue is gorgeous and we couldn’t have been happier. Capulet is a fantastic venue, made for a perfect wedding day for us 5/11/24! Steve and Stefanie were so responsive and helpful in planning and running the day-of, making it completely stress-free. Pony is a phenomenal chef and did an AMAZING job with our unique food requests, we got so many compliments on the food. Venue has a great vibe and guests loved the feel, no complaints at all. Highly highly recommend, they are absolute professionals and truly the best!

We recently celebrated our wedding at this amazing venue, and it was everything we hoped for and more! The rooftop space was just right for our guest count, providing an intimate yet spacious setting that made our ceremony truly beautiful. The reception area was perfect, too, offering plenty of room to dance and still have space to relax away from the dance floor and DJ. The staff was absolutely incredible—so kind and attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly, and their hospitality really made a difference. Plus, they served delicious drinks that our guests couldn't stop raving about. And let's not forget the food—it was outstanding! They did an amazing job blending our love for Creole and Central American cuisines, creating a menu that was both unique and incredibly tasty. Overall, this venue exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and well-organized wedding experience!

We had an incredible experience working with Capulet for our wedding. Steve and Stefanie were very communicative and we loved working with Pony to design a menu that we were proud of. We got so many compliments from our friends and family about the venue, the food, the general flow of the building and how it encompassed our event. The open floor plan made the whole event feels so inclusive and the reception area is a wonderful blank slate for any decor. The rooftop made for such a sweet ceremony and we loved how the nearby church bells would ring. The second line was fantastic, passing Dr. Bob's art studio and B. Mike's gorgeous murals. I highly recommend working with Capulet to make your Nola wedding feel authentic and unique!

Planning my wedding at the capulet was very difficult and stressful process. Communication was difficult and Steve was extremely rigid and would respond sometimes by “if this doesn’t work for you I suggest you take your money elsewhere” when we would ask basic questions about the layout of space and ceremony process and scheduling the rehearsal. Stefanie was the event coordinator but he would just take over for her and she wouldn’t give much information to us unless she asked him first. He wouldn’t allow her to do her job. I would’ve taken my money elsewhere if I hadn’t already paid thousands in deposits. He would say this 4-5 months before our wedding date when we were obviously locked in. Our wedding day was met with rain so three days prior to the event I offered to rent a tent to be installed on the roof due to the fact that Steve did not really offer and suitable ceremony alternatives to host 200 guests. The company I rented the tent from quoted 1800, and due to Steve’s regulations, the price went up to 2800 for additional items for the tent. When the wedding day came he pulled the plug on a rooftop ceremony instead of waiting for the rain to pass and the rain did stop before the ceremony even started, making me waste $3000 on the tent and chairs I rented. If he would have waited 15 minutes, it would’ve been absolutely clear. My vendors were forced to break everything down and bring it to the main room with a 30 minute notice. He did not offer any solutions like extending time or flipping the room and my guests had to stand. The inability to communicate or bend to help his clients in the event that is out of our control was devastating. Also he was extremely rude to my wedding planner when she tried to come up with an alternative plans and my vendors told me he was extremely difficult to work with. He will nickel and dime you for everything for absolutely no reason. I will say the staff was great and helpful and sweet to my guests. The reception was fun and beautiful but Steve will make the process extremely painful and difficult. I understand that no one can control the weather but in our efforts to fix it, he allowed me to spend the money only to waste it and offered no solutions or financial break (when we already paid him $25000+). Also please note that he only allows the vendors about 2.5 hours to set up the venue. I believe this is due in part that he allows other brides to come in to rehearse before their wedding. Which is fine, however during our rehearsal he all but kicked us out the door when we hit the 1 hour mark and was extremely rude to my wedding planner who was doing her best. Besides him, the space is beautiful and the drinks were great but I give all the credit to my vendors for making the day special. I was a panicked mess the week before my wedding because of his rigidity and cried before I walked up the isle due to him.

Wow. The Capulet was a magnificent place to have my ceremony and reception. The owner is easy to work with and the staff did an excellent job all around! Service was just incredible. My guests had an amazing time and could not stop commenting on how good the food was! The space itself is beautiful on its own. Of course I added my own wedding decor but did not need much. THANK YOU Capulet for making my day so special <3

Capulet was excellent to work with from start to finish! As with any big event, there were some bumps along the way, but all in all, we could not be happier with this venue. I'm a bullet point thinker, so I'm also going to review that way. COMMUNICATION: Capulet staff were quick to respond, clear in their communication, always amiably willing to answer my questions, and just all around nice folks. PACKAGE DEAL: Capulet has a great benefit of offering venue space (both indoor and outdoor), a great deal of furniture, catering, and even DJ services all in house. Honestly, we COULD have done the whole evening without renting a thing, but we chose to embellish a bit. VIBES: This venue is certainly a vibe, and one that we found to be quite charming. The industrial warehouse look of the Bywater paired with the vintage furniture and potted plants was rockin'. We loved it. LOCATION: Similar to above, the location for this venue is just downright cool. Conveniently located to lots of local hotspots and super walkable, but also adjacent to lots of street parking. CRISIS MANAGEMENT: When we found out the day before our event that the parking lot we had been planning for for over a year was no longer an option, Capulet handled the situation with excellent crisis remediation skills. They clearly communicated the issue and came to the table with potential backup solutions. CONTACTS: The folks at Capulet know a lot of other folks in the business. This may seem like a strange pro, but we found it to be a HUGE benefit that everybody (Capulet staff and outside vendors) already knew each other and how to work together. Could not recommend them enough. Can't wait to go back for a more chill evening in the future.

Our wedding at Capulet was perfect! Our guests loved the venue and the food was incredible. The team at Capulet was extremely accommodating, making for an amazing event. One of the best pre-wedding experiences was tasting the amazing food options from Chef Jack. He took the time getting to know what we liked most and how to best accommodate our guests. Another highlight was getting to taste each wine that was available for the event. We highly recommend Capulet for any event due to their welcoming, inclusive environment.

We cannot say enough positive things about Capulet! We fell in love with the space almost instantly. Their chef, Jack, was wonderful! We had the best time discussing all things food with him and really valued the fact that he gave his honest feedback. He put together an INCREDIBLE menu for us. Best food I have ever eaten at a wedding hands down! Their team is absolutely wonderful and make the planning process smooth, easy, and most importantly fun! They make sure that your vision comes to life and make sure that you are taken care of on your wedding day. I would recommend Capulet to everyone!

Chef Jack was incredible to work with. He nailed all the food we wanted, and we were picky. Food from Wisconsin, Peru, and Honduras is not easy to plan for all in one buffet, but he knocked it out of the park. Reception layouts were flexible, and the coordinating staff were nice to work with and helpful.

We had our wedding here in June and it was more than my husband and I could have imagined. We live in Brooklyn NY and planned the wedding remotely and the pictures and virtual tour didn't do it justice. It fit our taste and vibe perfectly. Working with Steve, his team and the chef was an exceptional experience. The menu that was created by the chef with our cultures (and allergens) in mind was perfect and got rave reviews from our guests. Highly recommend this venue and working with this team.

Our wedding was so beautiful here! Things went just about perfectly. They were super helpful in planning the menu...we basically got to pick whatever we wanted and the pricing was very reasonable. The alcohol package was great and our guests ordered craft cocktails all night. They make planning easy! I would recommend getting some sort of transport for guests after the wedding as it is a little out of the way compared to other venues The only thing we were sad about was that we did not get a box of food and cake to take home...but overall, the day was a huge success

We had our wedding reception at Capulet in May 2023. Capulet exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Steve and the team were extremely professional, helpful, and communicative throughout the whole process. Chef Jack worked closely with us to create a unique customized menu that blended our Asian heritage with New Orleans cuisine. Every dish was delicious! The bar staff demonstrated their creativity in designing our signature cocktails. The venue itself had a beautiful rooftop area and a romantic main area that was large enough to accommodate a band, dance floor, and seating for 150 guests. We would highly recommend Capulet if you are looking for a unique and memorable wedding venue in New Orleans!

We couldn't have picked a better venue for our April wedding. Steve and the Capulet team were ON POINT from the start of our planning process through the reception, very communicative and thorough. The rooftop ceremony and downstairs reception space matched our vision perfectly. Chef Jack, who seamlessly took over for Chef Chris this year, was amazing, from menu planning/sampling to executing on the big day. The bar staff performed valiantly throughout the night, serving up signature cocktails and made-to-order drinks without ever falling behind. Honestly no pain points, they deserve all the praise they get. 100% recommend.

I cannot recommend Capulet enough. We got married here on April 1st and it was PERFECT. The owner is fantastic as well as all of the staff. The venue is a great space & has plenty of areas for guests — rooftop, mezzanine, and dining room. If you are thinking about booking Capulet for your wedding, do it!!

We had our wedding at Capulet this Spring. We chose this venue because we absolutely love the Bywater neighborhood. We appreciated that there was an outdoor and indoor space that we could utilize (especially in case of inclement weather, which there wasn’t!). We also liked that the tables, chairs, lounge furniture and plants were all available for us to use rather than renting. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour on the rooftop and Reception/Dancing/Band inside. There was plenty of space for guests to dine as well as dance. We couldn’t have been more impressed with Steve and his staff. They were organized, responded quickly when we had questions and were accommodating to requests for our special day. Our guests raved about the food and we enjoyed working with Chef Chris and Chef Jack throughout the process from creating selecting our menu, scheduling a tasting and executing the evening. We look forward to visit the Capulet during our many trips to NOLA to enjoy their space again and reminisce on our special day.

I cannot say enough good things about Capulet. They helped me have the best day of my life! We had the ceremony on the roof and the reception downstairs. The space was gorgeous, drinks were excellent and the food from Chef Chris was KILLER; everyone was raving about it. I particularly loved the fried chicken bites, the lemon cream rigatoni, the vegan elotes and the skirt steak chimichurri. The menu is totally customizable and they're very flexible on accommodating allergies/dietary restrictions. I appreciate the fact that the venue is a restaurant on weekdays, so we were able to try their food before picking the venue and could tell it was good quality. I was worried that the space might look too industrial as it is a former warehouse, but actually the brick walls and wooden roof bring a warm, romantic vibe to the space. We did not have to do much in terms of decoration; the only things we brought in from outside vendors were dining chairs, tablecloths, a cake stand and the floral arrangements. Most of all, Steve was so easy to work with, so organized, a good communicator, and always answered all my questions via email promptly and in great detail. Overall, I'm very happy with this choice, and it was worth the price. For reference: the cost was $8,000 to rent the space for a peak-season, Saturday wedding; $1,000 for the ceremony; and $7,600 for staffing, an open bar and food for about 100 guests + vendors.

We had the best wedding at Capulet in November '22. Capulet provided almost everything we needed - an amazing venue (indoor and outdoor!) drinks, catering, most of the furniture, and even some lighting! From the start, Steve and his staff were extremely responsive and kept track of our multitude of questions. With all of the information flowing, it was truly amazing that they could keep on top of everything! Our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was, and Chris curated the best menu we could have asked for, while working within our budget. This was a huge value for money. Can't say enough good things - please book your wedding or party here!

Absolutely GORGEOUS and dynamic space, friendly and communicative staff, and amazing service. The team at Capulet helped make our dream wedding a reality. Steve is incredibly easy to work with and organized everything to a T! Plus, the guests RAVED about the drinks all night!
