We were fortunate enough to have our wedding in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Despite the obstacles of the hurricane, we had 4 months of planning with Carmela. She missed 1 of our 7 phone calls. She showed up 40 minutes late to our rehearsal, the day before our wedding. Our officiant had to improvise and direct the rehearsal herself. We get a call one and a half hours BEFORE the wedding ceremony starts saying she has to leave. She assured us Jennifer her assistant will be there to take care of everything. We had never met or talked to her before the day of. She was not at the rehearsal and multiple “assistants” had been named in previous texts and call. Carmela did not give us a reason or heads up about these changes and left us to figure out the day of changes on our own. We tried to rehearse again the day of and she was unclear of the orders. Instead of a day of planner, we hired Carmela who created day of chaos. If it weren’t for the help of Jennifer to figure everything out, I don’t know what we would have done. We had to conduct our own rehearsal the day before as well as well as a make up rehearsal the day of the wedding. We needed a wedding planner to help catch last minute items and manage the rehearsal smoothly but what we got was all last minute personnel changes, a missing table of guests, and last minute decor prep for $1500. If it were not for Jennifer, we would have had a disaster of a wedding. We talked to Jennifer who assured us she would be paid for what Carmela did follow through with who tried her best on the day of which in our view was very little as our ‘day of wedding planner’, and we recommend that you hire Jennifer instead of Carmela to save you the heartache of last minute changes and actually showing up for your wedding!
We cannot recommend working with Carmela enough. We hired her as our day-of coordinator for our August 2024 wedding at Henderson Acres and our wedding day would not have gone anywhere near as smoothly and stress-free without her. A few things we really loved about working with Carmela:
-Timeline management: Carmela very graciously took my hyper-detailed (very type A) wedding planning binder and put it all into action. We had a pretty tight timeline and amazingly, everything went according to plan.
-Gorgeous set-up: My husband and I gave Carmela some pictures of how we wanted the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception space set up and they absolutely nailed it! Carmela has an incredible eye for detail and really knows how to create a beautiful space. My mom and I were planning on making bud vases the morning of the wedding and Carmela graciously did all of them (and did wayyy better than we ever could - pictures to prove it!). It was stunning - I'm still so blown away by how gorgeous it was. Carmela also put out appetizers for my husband and I to enjoy after our grand entrance, which was so thoughtful.
-Ability to manage complicated guest dynamics: One of our guests unfortunately tried to make a scene during our wedding. We are so happy we hired Carmela and her fantastic assistant, Ivy, because they did an incredible job handling a pretty awful situation. My husband and I, plus most of the other guests, had no idea!
-Coordination with vendors: Carmela did a great job coordinating with our vendors. We bought flowers from a local flower farm and when they arrived just three hours before photos, to my horror, the colors were totally wrong (my bouquet was supposed to be pink but arrived bright orange and purple!). Carmela stepped in right away: she contacted the florist, sent the bouquet back, worked with them over the phone to get it fixed, and even had the florist send a final photo for my approval. In the end, the bouquet showed up on time for photos and I loved it!
-Meetings in the lead-up to our wedding: We spoke with Carmela on a regular basis for approximately six months in the lead-up to our wedding to discuss the plan for the day. These conversations and other resources Carmela shared with us were really helpful for finalizing our timeline, working on our ceremony plan, and making other decisions.
-Experience at Henderson Acres: Carmela knows this place inside and out, which was incredibly helpful when planning, especially for a destination wedding, and even for small things during the wedding, like dimming the lights.
-Decor to rent: Carmela has a small collection of wedding-related items, like bud vases and cake knives, that we rented from her for the day for a very reasonable price. Everything was perfect and it was great to have one less thing to worry about in the lead-up to the wedding.

Carmella is absolutely amazing! She does not miss a beat. Our original wedding planner ended up have a family emergency and we fell into Carmella’s lap a few weeks before the big day. We are so lucky it worked out that way! Carmella graciously took over the entire day with no hiccups. She knew exactly where everyone needed to be and what needed to be done. She has a calming presence and provides a sense of security, when as a bride you feel nervous and scattered. As a first time bride I had no idea what to expect for certain things, but Carmella explained every detail and activity. I could not say enough good things about her coordination and ability to keep everything running smoothly. You will not be disappointed with her wedding planning and coordination! We are so lucky to have had her!

Without a doubt, I would recommend Carmela to plan your event! Carmela is very organized and detail oriented. She was calm and collected during the whole process. As the bride, I felt confident in any last minute decisions she had to make. Her 'play by play' for the day of the event helped from getting overwhelmed. She was very communicative and easy to get a hold of throughout the whole process.
We hired Carmela to assist in partial planning of my sister's wedding in Topton, NC. I greatly valued Carmela's connection to the venue/vendors and knowledge that came with it. She was always available to answer questions and offer suggestions. Day-of she was excellent. She had an organized, calm demeanor that put the couple and guests at ease. Many guests complimented on how great she was and we could not have agreed more.

Carmela is who my husband and I hired to coordinate our wedding and I am so thankful we had her to make our wedding everything we dreamed it would be and more! She did an absolutely amazing job coordinating our wedding and ensuring every detail and vision we had for our wedding was executed flawlessly. Carmela is professional, friendly and prompt in all of her communications. She worked tirelessly to make sure everything leading up to and on the day of our wedding was perfect. She communicated with all of our vendors we used for our wedding and ensured everyone (hair and makeup team, DJ, caterer, florist, our officiant, bridal party and venue staff) was aware of our wedding day timeline and important details. She scheduled monthly check in phone calls with me in the months leading up to my wedding and helped me stay on track with essential details and communication with vendors. Carmela answered all of our questions and helped us work through planning aspects of our wedding that we needed guidance with. On the day of, Carmela handled all details leading up to the wedding ceremony, throughout the entire ceremony/reception and the breakdown. Throughout the wedding, she ensured my husband and I had everything we needed and wanted so we did not have to worry about anything and could be fully present and celebrate with all of our friends and family. Carmela's attention to detail and experience with weddings is truly appreciated and much needed when you are planning a wedding! She goes above and beyond to ensure your wedding is everything you imagine it to be and more and I cannot recommend her enough!
Carmela is a MUST HAVE for your wedding experience! I was on the fence like every bride is about needing a coordinator, surely I could handle it all myself! I was so wrong. Carmela works hard for you so you don't have to and it was 1000% worth it. She will negotiate vendors for you, make your rehearsal a breeze, and handle every little detail that you never even thought of on your big day. Looking back now I could not imagine getting through everything without her. I will be forever grateful for her hard work and dedication in making sure my big day was such a success.
Carmela acted as our month of wedding coordinator for our intimate destination wedding in Highlands in May 2024. While I was very hands on in the planning of my wedding, Carmela was a great help in communicating with the venue, resolving any issues that arose, and keeping me on track. We had scheduled phone calls but she was always available via email or text as needed and was so personable and easy to get along with. She really prioritized our wants and wishes for our wedding and made sure everything was going exactly as we wanted it! We are so glad we found her services and could not recommend her more!

We hired her for Day of Coordination, which we quickly learned covers much more than just the actual wedding day. Thank goodness! She supported all of my decision making in the planning process, while at the same time bringing several overlooked details to my attention. We had ongoing issues with another one of our hired vendors and Carmela handled it with the utmost professionalism. On the day of she went above and beyond what was required/expected. I truly believe the our wedding day would not have run as smoothly without her. Her extensive knowledge and experience in the wedding industry, coupled with her hard work and eye for detail, makes her the best planner for the job! Trust me!
I can not sing enough praises about Carmela Occasions & Creations. Carmela is extraordinarily talented and so easy to work with. I gave her my ideas and told her what I envisioned for my wedding and she brought it to life. The final product superseded anything I had ever imagined. Communication was also excellent. If I had a question she responded within a few moments. She was very interested in what my ideas were and always made sure I approved of what she was working on.
Carmela has been an absolute God Send over the past few months and I can never thank her enough. I will recommend Carmela without hesitation and will reach out to her for any future planning and coordinating that I might need.

Carmela is AWESOME! My son and daughter-in-law’s wedding in the mountains was absolutely beautiful, and Carmela saw to it that every detail was attended to. She worked tirelessly to get everything done just the way we wanted it. If there were questions, she brought them to our attention immediately. If we couldn’t figure out how to arrange or handle a situation, her suggestions were spot-on. She helped to make this wedding magical, and I would highly recommend her to everyone in need of a true wedding professional!
Carmela was an absolute life saver. We were 11 days out from our wedding when we realized that we had been scammed from our first coordinator. Our venue owner recommended Carmela and I am forever grateful that she did. From start to finish she was on top of everything. She truly made all of our worries disappear after talking to her the first time. She was so organized, professional, and she made it all come together so seamlessly. We seriously could not have gotten through the weekend without all of her hard work and attention to detail. She was so sweet to our entire wedding party, and family and she managed to make us all stand in the right place and look great at the same time even in the rain! Due to weather we had to create a plan B and she effortlessly pulled it all together. You never would have known that we completely changed all of our original plans because of how well put together everything was! She decorated everything beautifully and thought of everything that did not even cross our minds. We will forever be thankful for all of her hard work and dedication to making our day absolutely magical! Can not recommend her enough!!!!

Cannot recommend Carmella enough! I worked with Carmella for event coordination and partial planning, and she was not only INCREDIBLE at her job, but she was kind, warm, fun, and made you feel so safe and taken care of throughout the entire process. Before the event, Carmella came through with amazing vendor recommendations and creative solutions to every potential bump in the road that you could think of. She truly does go above and beyond. She checked in on me leading up to the big date and was incredibly detail oriented and thorough - there are so many things about event planning that you just wouldn't think of! By the time my rehearsal dinner came around, I maybe felt stressed for about all of 15 minutes thinking about all the decorating and set up that had to be done for the next day - and those were the 15 minutes before Carmella arrived to help us set up and decorate, and she completely put my mind at ease. She quickly picked up on my vision and made it even better than I could have imagined in the end (she is so creative! and she comes prepared with all kinds of extra things in case something breaks!). Day of, everything flowed so smoothly, I never had to think of a single thing except just being present in the moment. And she helped clean up in the end. Honestly, she was a life saver. She was great to work with. I couldn't have chosen a better person to help bring my vision to life. Thank you Carmella, for everything!

Carmela was an absolute professional and angel to work with. We live out of town and needed someone to take care of everything the day of the wedding in the NC mountains. It was a grand success because of her experience, skills, and calm but confident personality. We communicated by phone or text in the months leading up to our date and met in person two weeks before, at the venue. She showed that she could and did handle everything we needed. She truly thought of everything and was so reassuring. She set up the decorations and oversaw the staff setup. She then took care of breaking everything down afterward. She advised on all questions about the ceremony, reception planning, and anything/everything. She handled our music and brought in extra decorations and the PA system to supplement what we already had. If you are planning to have your wedding in western NC, the best thing you can do for yourself to ensure that your wedding goes smoothly and is everything you dream of, is to secure Carmela's services. Hiring Carmela to manage our event was the best decision I made! She was affordable, organized, communicative and went the extra mile to make everything exactly as I expected. The work she did for me was exceptional and I would hire her again to manage any event for me. Hire her…you won’t be sorry! Best of all, she negotiated a big discount with a florist who did not perform as necessary. I was grateful for that!

Carmella is open, warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We immediately felt comfortable from the first time speaking to her. We used her for Day Of services and she went above and beyond! She communicated with me for months prior, she came to rehearsal and helped us out. She allowed us to ship some things to her since we had a destination wedding which was a huge plus! AND she worked her tail off for us the Day Of our wedding. We did not have to be contacted all day because she handled everything. She did a lot of the "heavy lifting" and worked up to the very moment making sure everything was perfect. She is super cool and friendly and we would definitely recommend her services. Worth every penny!

Carmela is a jewel! We planned our destination wedding at Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville, NC from Florida. Carmela’s creativity, attention to detail and passion brought our ideas to life creating our most memorable day. She coordinated with the venue and vendors with ease throughout the planning and wedding process to ensure our wedding was unforgettable. She took our ideas and many “pieces” of decor and created the most beautiful wedding environment. Carmela is amazing!! She put us at ease, with her calmness, positive disposition and passion. We are so fortunate to have found Carmela. She should be your first, last and only choice to ensure the wedding of your dreams come to fruition.
We can't say enough about Carmela! From our very first meeting with Carmela she was confident, respectful, and engaged. Throughout the months leading up to the wedding Carmela was attentive to our needs and was very helpful in navigating communications and expectations among our vendors. The week of our wedding we learned that our cake baker had quit and Carmela jumped to action and within hours she had helped up to secure a new cake vendor. Even more impressive was her willingness to travel well outside of her way to deliver cake samples to us to try. On the day of the ceremony, Carmela ensured that our timeline was kept without being overbearing. With Carmela's eye for perfection we actually ended up ahead of schedule and got more time to dance. When we or our guests had any issues Carmela was quick to take care of them. She also created the tabletop table number holders which our guests really enjoyed. When we cut the cake Carmela was happy to share a quick lesson in proper technique. I think that, in general, there are a lot of very minor (but important) details that without Carmela we would've been up a creek without a paddle. There was never a time where we doubted Carmela. She has an excellent work ethic and her passion for her work is crystal clear when you meet her and work with her. Anyone would be lucky to work with Carmela for their wedding or any other event for that matter!
As the owner of Sweets Mountain Bakery, I've seen my share of general wedding disorganization and disasters due to hiring the wrong planner and/or day-of-coordinator. That is NOT Carmela!
Upon arriving at the venue to set up the cake and desserts display, everything was beautiful, ready and most importantly - calm. The décor was on-point, every detail was perfect and everything was running smoothly. Carmela is a true pro, and I'm excited to work with her again.
We hired Carmela for our wedding at Rumbling Bald Resort in NC in October 2021. She handled our rehearsal and assisted with the welcome party, as well as the ceremony and reception. She was amazing!! So sweet, professional, and helpful. There’s no way I could have gotten through either event without her help.

Having Carmela as my wedding coordinator is the best decision I made for the big day. My wedding day was flawless…at least from my perspective. There were a few hiccups that occurred but I was kept completely unaware of because Carmela handled it all. Additionally, I love her pricing options. You can select exactly what you need for your big day and she will facilitate your request to the T. And she has the sweetest personality too which is needed during those stressful moments that will pop up.
I cannot say enough about Carmela. She made our wedding perfect and I recommend her without any reservation. Where do I start?? I live in Virginia and the wedding was in North Carolina, so I had no idea of how best to plan . . . I just had a large private home that was going to be the site of the wedding and reception. I read some reviews and chose Carmela. Thank goodness. Carmela handled EVERYTHING, from flowers to catering options, to menu suggestions, table, linen, stemware rentals, cake . . . You name it!! I am not very creative, so I trusted her with colors, centerpieces, etc and she is truly just very gifted. Everything was lovely, everything worked like clockwork, the day went off without a hitch, and she is simply a delight to work with. Her communication was outstanding, her creativity excellent, and her presence calming. I could not have done it without her. My daughter was scheduled to be married in Colorado and I tried to hire Carmela to fly to handle that wedding. Even with her hotel and airfare, it would have been totally worth it, but she had another wedding booked. :( If you need someone delightful, organized, creative, and communicative who will ease all of your concerns and ensure that your special event goes off without a hitch, Carmela is your person. I will always feel so fortunate that I chose her!!
We booked Carmela for our rehearsal dinner and day of coordination. She did a great job with making sure our timeline stayed on track and even had some time built in for anything to go wrong. Carmela was absolutely the best decision I made when it came to our wedding. I was not going to get a planner and was going to just do everything on our own, that was a mistake! Finally 2 months, 2 MONTHS before our wedding I caved and decided to look for one. I then got on the Knot and found Carmela, she immediately responded to me and I knew she was the one for us. She immediately got on the ball and In 2 short months she helped me with every tiny detail I thought I would never get figured out such as invitations, seating charts, meals, coordinating with my venue, etc. She worked so hard and was so detailed and professional with everything she did for us. She drove out of her way to come to me when I needed her or had time crunches, she ALWAYS answered her phone, and most of all she cared about us and our big day. I will never forget walking upstairs at the venue right before my wedding started and seeing everything set up and displayed for the first time and just having an overwhelming feeling of happiness, all because of Carmela. I can truly 100% say that our wedding day went as wonderful as it did, strictly because of Carmela. If there’s one thing I suggest to anyone planning a wedding, just hire a planner, more specifically, hire Carmela. You will not regret it!!

Carmela is a really great wedding planner! I hired her just a month before my wedding because something had happened with my previous one and I’m so glad I did. She made sure everything went smoothly and it did, she kept everything going and took care of everything! She is also so sweet and willing to help with anything you need, she was quick to respond to me always.

Chris and I's wedding day was Feb 29, 2020 at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn, in North Carolina. We had the entire place to our self, as it was in the off season. We live in Bermuda and wanted a place to entertain our guest for the weekend, while merging a Bermuda vibe with the mountain heritage with a touch of hollywood. Not only do I recommend this fantastic lady but many of my guest shared numerous positive comments. I highly recommend.
