Beautiful venue. If you're looking for an absolutely gorgeous venue that will wow your guests.... this is it. I've dreamt of getting married here for almost 10 years.
Pros:
- Stunning venue, where you do not have to buy any decorations except... for linens & flowers.
- The bridal suite: FANTASTIC. It was such a fun place to get ready and take photos. (It did get hot, but with so many people that's bound to happen)
- The staff is attentive. My husband and I always had drinks in our hands and were served food & apps first.
- The bar staff was great, and made really good drinks.
- Audio set up throughout the venue was perfect.
Cons:
- They switched production & sales managers three different times in my 10 months of planning, so that caused a bit of confusion.
- We also had a very clear plan of what we wanted to do with our table organizing, and when we booked, the first set of people we worked with told us that we would be able to do so. Unfortunately, when we got to the third set of people we were told there was absolutely no way to do that. I was pretty heartbroken.
- There were a lot of hidden fees, which is pretty common in wedding planning, but still frustrating.
- You also had to spend an exuberant amount of $$ to buy out the catering company, so that wasn't cool. The company is known mostly for their food, and it didn't rock the house. Fish was undercooked for all the guests, including my own. We also paid extra for prime rib, and the amount our guests received left a lot of them hungry. You also do not get to have a tasting of your exact food unless you pay $500.
- You do not find out if you can have a rehearsal at the venue until 2 weeks before, and with such a unique set up it's really important to have a rehearsal for your bridal party.
be prepared to shell out a lot of tip money, because they have a HUGE staff for the wedding day. (2 captains, 2 bartenders, 11 servers, 1 chef, 5 cooks... we had a 86 person wedding)
