ond nervous about this. It's a massive moment and step in life as well as marriage. I was an emotional wreck on the inside. But Julianna guided me gently and made it feel like I always dreamed of.
We tired on multiple dresses that she pulled for us. Which by the way she is so amazing at taking whatever ideas, descriptions or chaos you tell her and finding amazing pieces.
We got down to two dresses with one having some off white color to it that I had never thought to look at. Everyone agreed that it was perfect for my skin tone. So then Julianna got me back in it one more time added the veil, the sleeves and a bouquet. When I opened my eyes I could utter no words just tears. I knew the. She had helped me find my dream dress.
She made sure I felt like me in it and that I felt comfortable as well as genuine in it.
Gods and devils she made sure this was perfect. Nothing less than 10/10 would be accepted in deciding on the dress
So when she asked me if I was saying yes to the dress I did so through tears and sobs.
This shop is so beautiful and accommodating. They carter to all body sizes and when I saw women that looked like me and not some half starved runway model I felt so comfortable and at ease. They made me laugh and cry.
They also are open to everyone. LGBT friendly doesn't come close to how accepting and affirming they are. Trans dolls make sure you come here because they will take that dream you had as a scare confused little girl and make it a reality.

like after going to the consignment shop, but as a size 18 bride who'd tried on a lot of too-small or poorly-fitting items at the consignment shop, I was worried about what the fitting experience would be like at a salon. I tried on 6 beautiful appropriately-sized dresses at Carrie's, and my stylist Ashley made me feel comfortable and supported. The environment was relaxing - there was only one other bride in there when I was trying on dresses - and I felt like I could take the time I needed to decide what felt right. My one regret is buying the veil they paired with my choice dress because I was caught up in the excitement of the beautiful dress. The veil was nearly 25% of the cost of the dress, and it felt excessive to spend that much on a couple layers of tulle.

We did have a few areas for improvement with the experience. First, when I went dress shopping (Feb. 2022), Carrie's required a $100 VIP appointment to have any more than 3 people come with me. Other shops had 4 or 5 person limits, so this felt low - although we were told it was because of Covid restrictions. We paid the additional cost for my 4-person group, and we were told that it included champagne for the group and other goodies. At the actual appointment, I received a small can of Rose - my guests weren't offered anything at all. In the end, it felt like the "Covid requirement" was really just to drive up costs for no additional value. Second, the dress that I chose ended up being about 6-7 inches too big, resulting in an extra $1000 in alterations. We did ask if this would be an issue when trying it on, but we were assured that the seamstress could manage it. Their seamstress was very disappointed when she realized how much work was required and that they had allowed us to choose that dress. We probably should have known better, but it would be better if the bridal stylists were prepared to give realistic advice in a situation like that. I would have chosen a different dress if I had known, especially since my budget almost doubled with alterations.
Overall, I would still recommend Carrie's to brides. My dress was beautiful and a great value for the (original) cost. They had plenty of options available for brides of any size and with any budget.

ce I was flying in town to go dress shopping with my mom. I had technical issues initially, but Ebony was very helpful in getting me booked. On the day of the appointment, she was very professional, had a keen eye for dresses that would fit my body type and helped me find a handful of styles that both my mom and I loved. As a physician, I also appreciated the consideration of both Ebony and this shop's consideration for policies to prevent the spread of covid. I went to another dress shop in town as well, but found my way back because my experience at Carrie's and the dresses I tried on (not to mention the prices) couldn't be beat. What I especially loved about Carrie's is that I was able to take my dress with me on that day, it was super affordable, and I was able to use any alterations specialist I wanted, which was a huge perk for me! (shoutout to Custom Bridal Modifications--Melissa is amazing!)

Prices at Carrie's are all GREAT! They advertise bridal under 1,000 and their dresses look like a million bucks! I love how simple a majority of them where because that means you can easily customize them. I had a strapless flowy dress, but I ordered more fabric from Carrie's so that I could make off the shoulder straps. My dress was truly MY DRESS! Even though I see other girls on social media with the same dress, each one of them has customized them or accessorized them so differently that it truly is a reflection of each girls' inner beauty.
