Castle Hill Inn is a renowned Relais & Chateaux property, so know we really had high standards of this venue when booking. It is without a doubt a beautiful venue, gorgeous views overlooking the water + Newport Bridge. Therefore, expect the venue comes at a financial premium. You're assigned a venue coordinator, which you will work with to plan everything venue related in house - tablescape designs, room layouts, any specialty rentals, chandelier lighting etc. They have many rental upgrades, but you can definitely have a pretty table set with their classic standard choices. My coordinator was detail oriented & great to work with. They also did a fantastic job accommodating my food allergies - it was a nut free wedding! Now for some cons; truly no wedding / vendor is ever perfect. Just know this piece of advice while planning your day ;) The filet's were not a hit among guests + mine (THE BRIDES) was served to me cold! I didn't mention it then, I wanted to stay positive, but I did have really high expectations of their meal service & that was a let down. Rest of the food was really fresh & tasty, everyone loved the hors d'oeuvres & our raw bar was raved about! The other mishap involved our wine selection. NOW, this is a property touting its wine being consistently "recognized by Wine Spectator magazine as one of the world’s best” per their own website. But they were not capable of properly ordering the correct amount of wine for our 2 nights of events. We are huge wine enthusiasts & wine was an important focus for us. They do include quite a drinkable Cab + Chard in the liquor package, but we wanted to upgrade for our head table of 30 P. We drank ZD on our 1st date, which the sommelier said couldn’t be imported to RI. That broke my heart, since it was so special to me. I am quite unsure the real reason they couldn’t get it for us, we have seen ZD on other RI menus. Due to this, we grappled with which wine to choose until about a month prior, landing on Belle Glos. We decided to serve this to everyone at our Rehearsal Dinner we were hosting at CH as well. Both coordinators separately confirmed w/ the Sommelier there was enough in stock. However, at the rehearsal dinner for 30 P w/no specified seating, a guest requested Belle Glos and was told "sorry Sir, that is only for the head table". Everyone in that room was our "head table", our nearest & dearest. I was SO embarrassed, as that made my best friend of 18 years appear less important! They told my husband there wasn't enough to serve everyone, so instead of notifying us prior, they went ahead & only served the 6 of us at my table the correct wine. We ended up serving everyone a portion of Belle Glos until it ran out & then had to switch to something else they claimed was "comparable". They should have absolutely brought this to our attention & not tried to cover it up. This continued at the wedding; my husband was pulled aside at 3pm & told Belle Glos was unavailable (well, we drank it all the night before). He first tried to pick another Pinot, but that was also sold out; So he ended up choosing Faust Cab, which is a great wine we enjoyed very much, but it was also more expensive than the Belle Glos we budgeted for originally; and this was all due to CH's poor planning. Either communication was crossed between the 2 coordinators, or the Sommelier underestimated how much wine our family was capable of consuming LOL.
I had my eye on Castle Hill as soon as we got engaged. We had our first meeting with Jackie Maroney and she couldn’t have been a more perfect person for us to be paired with. She got to know us as a couple, we asked 1000 questions and in every conversation we could tell she was truly on our team to create our dream wedding. Our Event Manager was Erinn Fleming and she did not miss a beat! Around the six month mark we started kicking details into high gear and she always gave us ideas and options to continue to bring our vision to life. Throughout the entire process we felt so supported and met some amazing people along the way like Lexy, Tamar and Chef Alyssa who are just incredible. Our parents didn’t see the venue until our tasting (no pressure) and we were all blown away by the amazing food, presentation and hospitality. In that moment I knew our wedding was going to be absolutely perfect. The day off went off without a hitch and guests couldn’t stop commenting on the beauty of the venue, the food and how accommodating the staff was. One of my favorite moments was after the ceremony when all the guests went to exit to cocktail hour there were servers ready to greet them with drinks in hand. You felt like a VIP the entire night. Our bridal attendant Emily was absolutely amazing and really allowed us to enjoy our night. I can’t thank the team at Castle Hill enough and hope you know your efforts into the little things didn’t go unnoticed! I highly recommend CHI if you want everything top notch for your special day.
I am completely speechless with how wonderful everyone and everything from Castle Hill Inn was. This venue had it all and more! They truly made the wedding planning process so easy. Katherine was our coordinator and was so amazing! The professionalism by all was noticed, and our guests truly enjoyed their experience here celebrating our wedding day. It was the most perfect and beautiful wedding day that we could have ever dreamed of. We cannot thank you all enough for all of your hard work! I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married. I certainly plan to come and visit soon!
Any questions?
My fiancé and I were married there on Sunday, July 10, 2022, and it was beyond perfect. From the start, Erinn, my event manager, was absolutely amazing. She was so responsive and helpful with everything. She really made the process planning a wedding less stressful - i can honestly say I had no stress. The day of my wedding she was by my side and made everything perfect. We had 171 people at our wedding and every single person raved about the venue, the perfect weather day and the food. My guests have told me it was the best filet and chicken they have EVER had - compliments to the chef and CH! I can’t say enough about the events managers and the venue. If you are a bride and this is your choice - please say yes to the venue. You will be so happy! It will be (and they will make sure of it) the best day of your life. This is, by far, the best venue in RI with the best team. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The perfect wedding venue. My fiancé and I had a 16-person micro-wedding at Castle Hill Inn and it could not have gone better. Lindsay Chapin was amazing and incredibly helpful in making sure everything went as planned. The venue itself was probably the most beautiful spot I could possibly have imagine for our wedding. The food was amazing. Our cake came out perfectly and looked basically identical to the picture we sent them. The staff was great, friendly, and incredibly attentive We all loved Carl!
We had my bridal shower at Castle Hill Inn and cannot speak highly enough about it! The staff at Castle Hill were so accommodating when we needed to change the date from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic. Our guests loved the ocean-front patio area, complete with views of sail boats and the Rhode Island bridges. The food was fantastic, especially the bread and homemade butter! Thank you, Castle Hill, for hosting my lovely shower on June 5th!
We had our micro-wedding in the Ocean Room at Castle Hill in October of 2020 and I can not recommend it enough! After the craziness and stress of trying to have a wedding during a pandemic and many cancelled plans, being able to connect with the Castle Hill team was a sigh of relief. We had decided to cancel our original venue (due to COVID) at the beginning of August and worked closely with the amazing Stephanie Nelson to figure out how best to make our dream come true in less than two months. The day of could not have been better. Kenzie Savage, our Event Manager, kept everything running smoothly–it truly felt like I was working with a close friend I had known for years. It is clear the staff at Castle Hill enjoy what they do and are happy to help in any way that they can. If you are considering Castle Hill, I strongly recommend reaching out to the team. Realistically, I never thought I would be able to afford the price tag of this amazing venue, but it was far below what we expected…especially when you take into account the high level of service and quality you receive. Plus, their grounds have some of the best views in the area, so you know your wedding photos will be amazing!
We held a micro wedding at Castle Hill Inn and could not have been happier with the entire process. Our wedding planner, Stephanie Nelson, was so thoughtful and helpful. The venue was beautiful, the staff was excellent, the food was delicious...really couldn't have asked for a better place to hold a wedding. If you're looking to do something on the smaller side in the setting of covid, don't count this out as a venue. Holding our wedding here really made the day special and everyone at Castle Hill Inn is wonderful to work with!
We had our wedding at Castle Hill last week and it was an absolute dream from beginning to end. Stephanie made the planning super easy and I cannot begin to thank Kenzie for her day of help! She was truly the best and made me feel so at ease during the whole day. Start to finish a magical day. Thank you !!!
I was just married at Castle Hill Inn, I have to be honest in this review... I think brides deserve this. So here we go. Know this, whatever you think your budget is, add 30% to that and you are closer to reality. Like any venue, they try to up sell... be aware that the quote, does not include 20% of fees (taxes, cater fees, hotel venue fees) that you get hit with at the end. Up selling... as soon as you pull back, they guilt you. Verbatim "Don't you think your guests deserve this?" WHAT IS THAT?! Don't get conned into the "Extra bar, the cheese board or raw bar during cocktail hour" these things cost $1100/min they are removed after 1 hour, full of food. Such a waste. The thing with CHI, it is a beautiful place, many guests will want to take photos in that hour after ceremony as this is their first time on the gorgeous bluff. It is a total waste to offer $7500 raw bar or cheese board. Trust me. Our Event planner who came with venue, she ditched out early into wedding and tapped in another planner who I had never met, so when things went south, we had no idea who to turn to. He didn't know what the agenda, who was speaking, who was not speaking and it turned into a shit show... a 20 min speech from someone who was never meant to speak at all. This threw off the entire rest of the night and we are still living in a tiff. Be aware, your band and DJ, will not get to play music at a reasonable decibel so many noise restrictions. Your guests and you will hardly hear anything. And 30 minutes before you're already quick 11pm stop time, they will start clearing out tent, and making your guests feel time is up, so awkward. In my honest opinion, seek another venue, one where you can get more bang for your buck. You want the view and the brand, have cocktail reception on your rehearsal night or welcome cocktails night before wedding. Trust me.
Book this venue! We loved our recent wedding at Castle Hill Inn! If you want a venue that will help you through every step of the process, this is your venue! Literally, the only vendors that you'll have to pick are your officiant (if held onsite), the music, and the flowers. Castle Hill will handle everything else! I had a great experience from the first touch point with our sales associate, Emily D., to working with our coordinator, Maria M. We had unfortunate weather the day of our wedding with high winds, so my only regret is that we had to move EVERYTHING inside the main tent including the ceremony and cocktail hour. With an attendee list of 150, it was a bit tight. There is an option for a second tent to be set up (at a price) but the high winds made it too dangerous to set up for our wedding day. The main tent is extremely customizable – from the lighting and draping to the table, chairs, table settings, etc. – all at a price of course! Pretty sure you're required to only use Castle Hill's vendor for any tent customization. The food was by far the best wedding food we've ever had! You won't be disappointed. Also, staying in the bridal suite (which is right above the main tent) was so much fun! You’ll feel the personalization and care that Castle Hill puts into each and every wedding they host – they definitely take pride in their work and it shows! Another interesting point is that the venue is basically yours for a full 24 hours (probably 8AM day of until 8AM the next day) unlike some other venues that host multiple weddings the same day. I was able to arrive at 2PM the day of the wedding to check into the bridal suite, change into my wedding dress, and then head to my first look. We used the extra time before the ceremony (started a 4:30PM) for family photos so they could enjoy cocktail hour. I could probably go on for another 500 words about how much I loved this venue but honestly just reach out via their website contact info - they were surprisingly transparent with pricing up front which helped us make our final decision to book there.
Without a doubt the best venue and people to work with!!! Book CHI, you will not regret it! It was exactly how we imagined it - VERY Romantic and Magical! Jackie did an amazing job with our unique vision and offered incredible ideas! She worked seamlessly with our vendors. Our Wedding was in May and we are still receiving compliments on how beautiful everything was! We are beyond happy with our choice!! THANK YOU!!!
There is so much to say about this beautiful venue! We had our ceremony there as well as the reception. They have such amazing views, are all so professional, and the food is phenomenal. I don't think you could find a place that just checks off all the boxes for a dream wedding.
My guests could not stop talking about how fantastic the food and drinks were, and how accommodating they were to some of my guests who have medical issues.
Just can't say enough good things about this place!
My guests and we were all blown away.
Jackie was amazing to work with for our wedding at CHI. She kept us on track and gave us amazing ideas to run with when thinking about small details for our day. She was always available and knowledgeable, and I never felt stressed. Getting married at Castle Hill Inn was a dream. They all have it down to a science, and you never have to worry about a thing. The food was incredible, as well as the flow and set up. Many of my guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and I attribute most of that to Jackie and the folks at CHI. THANK YOU!!
Our wedding at Castle Hill was beyond my wildest wedding dreams – THANK YOU to the incredible team that made our day beyond perfection! My husband and I worked with Molly throughout the process and she is like a wedding fairy – answering our one million questions, and easing our minds when the forecast showed 100% chance of rain for the day of our wedding (it ended up being the most beautiful day). From the venue, to the food, to the staff the day of – I truly can’t say enough. A Castle Hill Wedding truly lived up to the hype, it was a 5 star experience that we will never ever forget!
I wasn't going to leave a review. My wedding was back in September, and I am trying to only think about positive memories.
Of course, for everything that went wrong, there were a bunch of things that went right, and I do acknowledge that. The wait staff was lovely, and the decor and rentals were set up very nice.
I also like that our coordinator managed our day of vendors for us.
However, there was one thing that happened I want to point out. I wouldn't have left this review, but no one from Castle Hill followed up with us after the wedding to see how everything went.
I spent hours making a playlist for our band, and was really looking forward to dancing the night a away. I expressed during our tastings I even wanted to skip the salad/soup round so that we could get right to dancing but was promised that food would come out right away, and fast. We even put used part of our budget to extend the night by a half hour, to really maximize our reception and dancing. My coordinator left right after cocktail hour, and whoever was left in charge at Castle Hill decided, without telling me, that they would start dinner later - at 9pm, when I was expecting 7:30pm. I know starting dinner an hour and a half late doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you only have 5 hours for your biggest day, it's a big deal! And a decision they should have ran by me.
Castle Hill Inn was an exceptional venue to hold our wedding. We were married in an October nor'easter, and while that may been a challenge to plan for at other venues, Castle Hill took it in stride. Our wedding coordinator, Samantha, was fantastic. She was extremely organized, attentive and responsive. She helped walk us through the planning process and ensured we had all of our boxes checked well before wedding weekend. While she couldn't control the weather, Samantha expertly planned around it and made sure to coordinate with the Castle Hill staff and my other vendors to ensure the day went smoothly. My guests could not stop talking about the incredible food and exceptional service. The venue itself is the most beautiful tent I've ever seen, and the property is stunning. I highly recommend!
My husband and I were consistently blown away by the levels of professionalism, attentiveness, and kindness from every individual at this venue. Our wedding coordinator, Molly, was beyond organized and so helpful with every decision we made - it was absolutely wonderful to work with her. We planned our wedding from Chicago, and any logistical concerns we had were addressed and resolved without a hint of stress. Every staff member at Castle Hill provided exceptional service before, during, and after, the wedding. I am unable to adequately emphasize how grateful I am for the treatment of myself, my husband, our families, and our friends. I would like to give my highest recommendation possible for Castle Hill.
As a small postscript: in addition to a wonderful team of planners, the actual venue is overwhelmingly beautiful. The food and drinks are unfairly amazing (cannot say enough about the food)! Our wedding was perfect, and I am so happy we had the opportunity to work with Castle Hill.
Thank you so so much for an AMAZING wedding. Our wedding planner, Samantha, was unbelievable and addressed our every need. Even left a gift and card for us in the bridal suite. Literally could not ask for anything else. Worth all of the money! Thank you thank you!
The venue's staff was unbelievable and made us feel like we were the most important people to ever set foot on the property. My wife and I were truly blown away by the service and professionalism of the staff. We have vowed to make an annual trip because the view was simply that stunning. Everything from the food to the decor to the rooms at the inn were top notch. And to those with events here, we strongly recommend the late night soiree to keep the party going. What other venue make every dream come true down to the details including a late night 5 star version of McDonalds chicken nuggets and french fries. Additionally, the venue's reputation and relationship with other vendors in the community made planning and executing seamless.
Perfect Wedding at Perfect Venue. Everyone could not stop complimenting the site, food, and views! We couldn't have been happier with the Castle Hill staff.
Castle Hill gave us the most gorgeous wedding that exceeded our wildest dreams! The venue location is unparalleled even for Newport; the estate includes every perfect photo location: wooded paths, beautiful gardens, ocean views, rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, and a gorgeous lighthouse. The food was incredible - just as good as the tasting! The tent (that word doesn't do it justice) is breathtaking. The "standard" drum lights and wooden beams of the tent are gorgeous on their own. The amazing team especially our planner, Molly, the sweetest and funniest person!, was so attentive and supportive. Molly quickly answered emails for even the smallest of questions. She easily coordinated with all my vendors without needing my involvement. Even though I was planning from out of state, Molly made the process so easy. She didn't blink an eye when I told her at 8pm the night before the wedding that we had 3 "surprise" relatives to add to the wedding. She and the staff made everything look effortless! Castle Hill thinks about every single detail without you even having to ask - water for guests during the ceremony, a personal attendant for the couple throughout the whole day, a golf cart to drive to any location for photos, and a full dinner tray of the most incredible chicken and biscuits and chocolate mousse waiting for us in our suite at the end of the night. The chalet suite is AMAZING! We enjoyed the soaking tub with bath salts and fireplace. The next day breakfast at the main house is not to be missed!!! One of our favorite memories is seeing the troupe of waiters assemble at the end of our aisle with trays of wines, champagne, and food perfectly timed to greet us and our guests after we walked down. THAT is the type of 5 star service you can expect automatically with Castle Hill. We are so thankful to Castle Hill for giving us our dream wedding that everyone called the most beautiful wedding! We can't wait to come back for our anniversary!
I don't even know how to describe how much I appreciate castle hill's role in my wedding! Our coordinator, Emily, was absolutely fantastic. I got answers to my emails that I sent at 11 pm on a Saturday, which is a level of customer service I was NOT expecting at all. Everything ran smoothly and looked gorgeous. The venue location speaks for itself, but it's the service that's really outstanding.
Castle Hill Inn was a beautiful setting for the wedding. All the guests commented that the food was fantastic and that they had a terrific time. It was elegant yet unpretentious and we would choose the site again without hesitation. These are the things we wished we had known in advance before booking the venue and signing the contract:
1. If there is rain on your wedding day, you will likely need to rent a separate tent ($4200 + 20% + 8%). The chalet will only accommodate approximately 60 people for an indoor wedding. We had been told during the sales process that we could have the wedding in the chalet in case of rain. This is not true for a wedding of more than 60-70 guests.
2. If it is hot and humid on your wedding day, there is no air conditioning in the tent. Renting AC units for the tent costs 8K.
The chalet is air conditioned but the tent is not.
3. Request a satellite bar. We paid for a gold beverage package for our guests yet some did not get a drink during the cocktail hour because of the "enormous line" in the main tent for drinks. We had 125 guests and were told there would be tray-passed drinks for our guests but most of our guests needed to stand in line for drinks. The servers reported that the tray-passed drinks were only for the wedding party and they were not allowed by management to pass more drinks during the cocktail hour. The passed hors d'oeuvres are outside so having an outside bar in addition to the bar in the main tent would be very helpful. We were disappointed that Castle Hill Inn refused to give tray-passed drinks to our guests during the cocktail party when we pointed out the line at the bar during the cocktail hour after they had stated that they would before we signed the contract and we had paid for a gold beverage package for our guests. This seems to be an effort by Castle Hill Inn to save money after selling us a beverage package that I would not expect from a Relais Chateaux.
CASTLE HILL INN GAVE US THE WEDDING OF OUR DREAMS!!!! It provided the most beautiful view for a ceremony and over-the-top reception. Everything was perfect. They take such good care of you and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Everyone told me I was the most calm bride they had ever met but I know that's because Castle Hill handled any stress that I might have felt. Molly Emond was our event manager and she was so great, we couldn't have asked for a better point person! Words cannot express just how happy we were with their services.
The moment we stepped onto the lawn at Castle Hill, we knew this was the venue for us. From the beautiful landscape to the incredible service provided, there really was no other place for us to say "I do". Castle Hill is stunning; the food is outstanding; and the staff is second to none. Ryan Yalanis worked with us to customize a wedding experience that we could enjoy within our budget. Amanda Barker took the reigns to help us plan the perfect day, down to every last perfect detail. My husband and I spent hours at our "date night" tasting; our waiter making sure everything was absolutely perfect. Our guests have not stopped talking about the amazing time they had; we've introduced Newport RI to our Seattlite friends and they have suggested we renew our vows at CH every year so they can come back to visit. Over all, Castle Hill was the perfect wedding venue with the perfect team of professionals to make you feel like you are the only one getting married there! We hope to be back every few years to celebrate our special day!
Our wedding at Castle Hill was absolute perfection. I don't think that we will ever be able to get over the way that they took care of every single detail and made the day so incredibly special for us. The staff are all so pleasant, professional, kind and very easy to work with. No stone went unturned- the attention to detail is impeccable. Our guests loved every aspect of the event and talked about how wonderful the wedding was (and they are still talking about it a month later!). The location itself is unbeatable- it is (in my opinion) the very best view in Newport. The food was outstanding, service exceptional, but in the end the experience truly was absolutely priceless. We will remember our wedding here with the fondest of memories and love that we have a place to go visit (and maybe even stay!) to celebrate our anniversaries- which makes it even more special. The atmosphere is both elegant and relaxed- so the entire day felt like a fairytale, but it also felt so easy and calm. I cannot say enough how much we loved every single aspect of our wedding at Castle Hill- we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married in Newport...or anywhere for that matter!!
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding. We worked with Erica, from Castle Hill, and she was an awesome coordinator. They are helpful throughout the entire process. The food was top notch and you can't beat the location!
I was overall happy with my day, Castle Hill is stunning, the food is miles above expectations, and the accommodations wowed everyone who stayed on property.
Unfortunately, it was not a smooth road, which caught me totally off guard for such a highly rated, well thought of venue.
To start, they can be frustratingly slow to respond to issues. A couple months out I received my fourth deposit request, which I would have been fine with - it was expected - except, she was looking for 4x times what the number should have been (as stated in my contracts) and didn't have my packet in front of her to justify the numbers. I tried to be polite, but after several exchanges we couldn't resolve it and I asked that someone higher up contact me. It took FOUR days before I heard from anyone else. And I did not consider this a small issue.
Finally, something gets dropped in translation from planning meetings to execution. There were several lovely little touches they were so excited to plan with me, only for me to find out they either didn't happen on cue - guests were to be greeted upon arrival with hot apple cider, it wasn't handed out until after the ceremony as cocktail hour started - or didn't happen at all - samples of food saved for us and brought to the bridal suite.
The staff is lovely and friendly and the food almost entirely makes up for any other shortcomings, but in the end, it felt like my intimate winter wedding was just not a big enough expenditure for me to get the 5 star attention their reputation claims.
My recent wedding at Castle Hill truly went way beyond my wildest dreams. From the impeccable service, to the food, to the professionalism of the staff, the experience was truly spectacular. My guests fell in love with the view, the food and drink, and everything else about the gorgeous and unique seaside property. Ryan Yalanis, the sales director at Castle Hill, is amazing. She worked extremely closely with us to make sure that we would have the wedding of our dreams while keeping within the parameters we needed to, and Joslin Carroll, our coordinator, was on top of every detail, big and small, to make sure everything went off without a single glitch. Joslin, Ryan and everyone at Castle Hill were such pleasures to work with. The food and drinks were exceptional and the setting is not to be believed. You have to see it with your own eyes (as so many of our guests said!). I couldn't recommend it more highly.
Having made Newport, RI a constant getaway location throughout our 10 years of dating and getting engaged there, it only made sense to look into having the wedding there as well. Unfortunately the first hurdle to overcome with a Newport, RI wedding is the cost. I have a huge family and started out planning a huge wedding which took our beloved city off the list. Before long we decided to elope and that's when I contacted Castle Hill and began talking to Tara. Over the course of months I changed my mind constantly, lost focus and direction and had more questions about the most meaningless parts to wedding than one could stomach. No matter what Tara was right there and answered my questions. Before long our elopement turned into a small wedding of around 25 and then the big day was there. As with any wedding, minor hiccups presented themselves from the officiant running late to the guests arriving way to early to only half of the centerpieces arriving with me to the bridesmaid bouquets dying overnight but throughout it all the amazing staff at Castle Hill helped in keeping me calm..in particular River who stopped what she was doing just to offer a much needed hug. Despite the issues our guests still talk about the amazing time the had. We just wanted a mellow day with our closest friends and family. Great food and great wine, laughter and amazing photos to look back. We got just that at Castle Hill. The food was amazing, the service was spectacular and we couldn't be happier.
A piece of advice on how we managed to have our dream day. If you are opting for a smaller affair screw tradition and have a weekday wedding. Our 10 year anniversary fell mid week and thought it would be the perfect day to get married so not only did we have our perfect wedding but we managed to save hundreds.
We had our wedding at Castle Hill Inn in Newport, RI on May 23, 2013. Castle Hill went above and beyond to give us a perfect day. They exceeded all our expectations and we had very high expectations going into it! The food was amazing (huge delicious scallops!), the service was spectacular and the venue breathtaking. We had our ceremony outside at the Lighthouse and a 3 course lunch in the Ocean Room. We also did a cocktail hours with hors d'oeuvres which was amazing (lobster parfait was incredible). We had a beautiful cheese platter, wine and lemonade at the lighthouse which was a huge hit with our guests (and us!). I have food allergies (gluten especially) and Tara and the kitchen/wait staff were so thorough in making sure everything I ate was safe. We had a string trio at the ceremony location, which was so elegantly beautiful. Everything happened as planned; it was an amazing orchestration by Tara and her team. Seamless and wonderfully perfect, all without my involvement or follow-up, allowing me to truly enjoy the day focused on my husband and our guests. We had 30 guests, so it was a small wedding, which made it all the more delightful. We stayed for a couple days in the Superior Beach House which was amazing, right on the beach. We truly wouldn't change a thing about the day. I would highly recommend Castle Hill especially if you are looking for an intimate, elegant location.
Before actually seeing Castle Hill in person I fell in love with it online. Then I finally got to see it in person and it was even more amazing! The venue is beautiful, the views are breath taking. Castle Hill has great food, all of my guests raved about it. It is just a fabulous place to get married. My outdoor ceremony was just perfect :)
The people at Castle Hill Inn made our June 10, 2012 wedding everything we could have hoped for and more. Everything was just perfect...our ceremony at the lighthouse, our stay at a beach cottage, the amazing room where we had our dinner and the food...EVERYONE raved and said it was the best meal they had ever had. I couldn't have asked for anything more! Thank you Castle Hill Inn!
Castle Hill is a picturesque venue and the service/quality matches. The day of planner kept everything very organized throughout the planning process and was ready, willing and able to provide excellent recommendations and deal with each of my concerns. On the day of the wedding everything was absolutely perfect. The staff made sure that we were all treated like royalty, to the extent of having the wait staff follow me around during cocktail hour so that I had all of my own appetizers, making sure my drink was always filled to the brim and any other concerns that I had were handled immediately.
All of my guests have been raving about my fairy tale wedding at Castle HIll Inn.
Castle hill inn is the premier venue in Newport to have your wedding. My coordinator was very attentive up to the final minutes of the wedding and when there was a snag or problem, it was easily taken care of without making me aware of it or involved. My guests are still raving about the synchronization of the servers serving everyone at the table at the same time! Aside from the gorgeous view,, delicious food and beautiful stationary tent, Castle Hill Inn is the perfect place!
If everyone could have just a taste of Castle Hill once in their lives, the world would be such a happier place. Just to sit in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the East Bay Passage of Narragansett Bay on a lovely afternoon, and order a coffee, tea, wine, whatever, revives your soul. To be fortunate enough to have your wedding there? Well, that is the perfect combination of timeless natural beauty, relaxed elegance, unbelievably delicious food and service that is reminiscent of times long gone by - extremely attentive but not overtly noticeable. And the do know how to take care of any little or large thing that may go wrong at the last minute - like a downpour just as the bridal party was to make its entrance to the wedding site.
Everything is done to perfection. If anyone wanted anything, it was there in an instant (the bridal party was more hungry that I thought while getting ready in the Chalet, and some guests arrived a tad early and were looking for nibbles and drinks).
You make the dining and dancing tent your own using floral decor, lighting, etc. Whatever you want it to be, it can be made into it to give your wedding or event just the unique atmosphere and setting you desire.
Our event manager, Rebecca White, was a delight. She was extremely professional, got everything done with grace, and was truly caring to us as fellow human beings (not just clients). She helped make the event perfect in every way (other than a bit of rain; her weather control gadget must have been out for repair that weekend).
Of course, Castle Hill is know for its delectable food, and they maintain the same high standards for their events as they do for the Inn.
I couldn't count the number of people who told me that Rachel and Mikey's wedding was the best they had ever attended....well over half the guests, of whom many I was meeting for the first time! Now, that brings joy to the mother of the bride..to know she has given her daughter exactly her vision of her wedding and that the guests truly enjoyed themselves.
The entire process was truly a wonderful experience, and Castle Hill is, in every way, a truly magnificent venue for any special event.
I highly recommend Castle Hill as a wedding venue. The staff is extremely professional and strive for perfection, the site is beautiful and the food is delicious.
Overall,my experience at Castle Hill was good.Gorgeous venue, delish food, the planning staff was helpful. Our wedding turned out to be a fabulous, fun nite w/ some bumps in the road.Guests were unlikely to notice the “bumps” and had a great time (largely in part to our band and the beauty of the venue). I don’t want to complain but I believe feedback needs to be shared not only w/ CHI but also w/ other brides so they can use my experience to plan their own wedding. I would like to be clear that I recommend CHI and would do it all again BUT I would manage my expectations. CHI’s motto “Great Expectations” and their sales spiel (world class service) sets them up for failing to meet expectations. In general, most issues we had throughout the planning process and the wedding were due to poorly managed expectations. At our initial meeting, we were sold on a package that was upwards of $290/pp, We were not informed of any upgradesthat existed in service level. We thought we booked the highest service level. Yes, our planner Rebecca was receptive and accommodating, and Yes, she did more than most other planners at other venues would BUT shedid not meet the charge of outstanding service. Fortunately, the sales director, Marie Cuccia was very accommodating. In general, it should be noted that Marie responded to all of our requests and made up for oversights through the planning process. When our guest count doubled from the initial expected # CHI was going to provide the same # of tables at cocktail hour. We had to go back and forth over several emails to ensure the ratio of servers and tables would remain the same and # of tables would be increased. Ultimately, CHI conceded BUT this shouldn’t have been an issue. I am not going to list things that went on during the planning process as Marie mitigated concerns quite quickly; but, brides, don’t assume they will “do the right thing”-don’t have “great expectations” so you will not be let down. Overall, they do a good job with service~Until the wedding night. To start, CHIs Lack of communication resulted in our band not playing for 20 min. CHI makes a big deal about adhering to a Banquet Event Order (BEO). Our BEO specifically stated where individuals with allergies would be sitting, informed CHI of the indicators for meal choices, requested a chair with arms for my grandpa (who due to a heart condition and physical limitation should not be sitting in chair without arms for extended periods), and for PROACTIVE drink service (which is supposed to be an upcharge-shouldn’t that be included in “world class service”).several guests were brought the wrong entrees including things they were allergic to (why work so hard to code everything if the venue cant follow it), grandpa never got the chair (I noticed in pix after bc my fam didn’t want to be bothersome. he ended up not coming out the next day for brunch out of exhaustion), AND, none of my family’s tables received proactive drink service. This is an important part of the service since the bar is all the way in the back. Oh and, the MOG had a tray of drinks spilled on her and I nearly had a plate of food dropped on me.In summary, overall good experience with some significant service issues the night of. Probably an off night.Upon receipt of our feedback CHI offered a 1 nite stay and din for 2 for anniversary but personally, i would've preferred things go right.Nor do I think this is truly enough to make up for the numerous oversights that nite.
I am so happy that I chose to get married at Castle Hill. Their service and professionalism is unparalleled. Unfortunately for me, even though it didn't rain for 6 weeks straight it decided to rain on my wedding day (not the whole day thank god). We asked Castle Hill the day before to get us a tent for the ceremony space and they were happy to pull through for us. That is just one example of the quality of their service and how important your happiness is to them. You feel like you are their number one priority all the time, and let's face it, when you pay for a wedding you should feel that way. The food is also excellent and you just can't beat their location and views.
From the moment we selected the Inn at Castle Hill as the venue for our destination wedding, through the last dance, and into the next morning as we checked out of the Chalet bridal suite, we felt cared for and catered to by Rebecca White and the entire CH staff. Even with coordinating our event from long-distance in Southern California, we were at ease in every step of the planning process so, ultimately, we were able to completely enjoy ourselves in the company of our guests at our reception. We can't imagine a more beautiful setting, and, thanks to the Inn's fabulous chef, our guests were treated to a fine dining adaptation of a traditional New England clambake. We couldn't have wished for a more delightful experience!
Castle Hill Inn was the perfect place for my dream wedding. When looking for a venue, Castle Hill Inn was the top of my list. I thought that it was far out of my reach. Castle Hill was able to customize a package for me so that I was able to afford to have our wedding there! Their service was exceptional! We worked with Rebecca throughout our planning. She was so easy to work with, had great ideas and was just so nice! Castle Hill Inn has so many options to personalize your wedding. The staff is so professional as well. Everyone was raving about the food! They use the same food for their weddings as they do for their award winning restaurant. I can't say enough about how incredible Castle Hill was.
Castle Hill was the perfect place for my wedding. not only was Nancy and the whole staff wonderful, but the food was amazing and everything we wanted. If quality of food is important to you and you don't have the time in your normal life to try to source the best caterer, go to Castle Hill. They do have alot of the standard wedding fare, but they will customize everything and even if you just go with the standard stuff I promise you it will be beter than any wedding you have ever been too. The main thing we hear about our wedding is how wonderful the food was, best they've ever had and I agree. They were amazing with people with allergies, even bringing in gluten free bread for my friend who is celiac!
On top of the food, the venue itself is just so special, amazing view and the suite you get as the bride and groom is so perfect and romantic.
It's not cheap, but if you want a wedding where you can be involved and decide everything leading up and know for certain that they will take care of every detail on the day, this is the place. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day in every way.
Amazing lovely place to get married, highly recommend!!!
My husband and I visited many of the Newport venues but the moment I saw Castle Hill I knew it was the place. Marie was so helpful, responsive, and receptive throughout the entire planning process. We were married on site on the lawn overlooking the bay and it was just perfect. Aside from the top notch service, the food was amazing. We knew from the high ratings the head Chef received that the food would be just as wonderful as the service, which was important to us.
I had always dreamed of getting married outside, overlooking water, under a gorgeous tent and castle hill fulfilled it all. Top notch service, food, and location. i've heard some real horror stories about wedding venues and I can honestly say it was nothing less than very professional throughout. Marie's professionalism and responsiveness allowed me to remain stress free and enjoy my planning and our day!
highly recommend!
You get what you pay for...top notch quality , service, great food and location
Castle Hill is the perfect setting for a wedding. It is right on the ocean and is simply amazing. Their staff walked us through each step of the process and made planning very easy. The food is locally sourced and tasted great as well as being very well presented. They only host one wedding each night, so you know the staff is taking care of you from beginning to end. I would get married here again in a second!
