e meals. On the big day, Laura made us feel very well taken care of. She was at my side on the day of the event to confirm when to serve each course, and made sure that everything went smoothly. All the servers, and the bartender were friendly, and helpful. The passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious! The drink bar was beautiful with all of the colored carafs, and San Pellegrino. The mushroom bisque, breads, and entrees all exceeded our highest hopes. The Catered by Design team absolutely made our day, working with our photographer, baker, and florist, harmoniously, part of a dream team. Our guests had a wonderful time, all praised the food and service. We wanted to pamper and impress our guests, and Catered by Design certainly did that.

They were both so great to work with, and throughout the process we really felt that Catered by Design was truly invested in working with us to make our wedding day as wonderful as possible. We were so thrilled that they worked with us to maximize our budget and threw in little touches you wouldn't necessarily expect them to think of or offer. In particular, it was SO thoughtful of them to provide a tray of the passed hors d'oeuvres for just me and my husband when we took a break from everyone else right after the ceremony. That little, 15-minute window when it was just the two of us as newlyweds was so relaxing and enjoyable, and the hors d'oeuvres were delicious! The staff was SO professional, responsive, and on top of everything all night, and our floor captain (who introduced herself to us after the ceremony and made sure we received our hors d'oeuvres tray) was so friendly and professional as well. The food came out right on schedule at dinner, and it was delicious!! They worked with our outside bartending company without any issues, and overall were simply a dream from start to finish. Food was one of our top 3 priority items, so this vendor choice was a big one for us. For most couples, food will be one of your biggest expenses (and one of the things guests really will remember!), so there can be a lot of pressure to get it right and know that you're getting good value for all that you're spending. With Catered by Design, you absolutely will get that. We couldn't be happier we picked Catered by Design, and we recommend them unreservedly!!!

Personally, I never have... until our wedding! 9/10 guests still mention how amazing the food was & that they went back up for second or third helpings (we had food stations). We knew the food was going to be great, but we didn't know it was going to be THAT great! Regarding the service - just wow! The entire event staff was so friendly & kind & anticipated needs before they even happened. Aukse was such an amazing Catering Captain - we really appreciated how she not only made sure her team was on time & on top of all details, but also made sure my husband & I were always doing OK & happy! Truly white glove service. The bartenders were so friendly & kind to all guests - given that it was NYE, that was key! Now on to Rachel Jozwik... Rachel was our catering coordinator & we honestly couldn't have done this without her! She was SO on top of every detail and so very accommodating - she gave this Type A girl major major ease knowing that we didn’t need to worry about a thing! Throughout all the phone calls and emails and proposal updates, Rachel took everything in stride and made sure we had the most perfect day.. which we did!! It probably goes without saying, but we can't recommend Catered by Design enough!

I was blown away by the quality then but I was nervous that the same quality wouldn't transport to my venue - I was COMPLETELY wrong. Everything tasted exactly how it did at our tasting, I've been getting nonstop compliments about the carving station and the make your own pasta bar. Rachel is a super star. The amount of emails from over a year and half of me changing the plates, to updating the color scheme a few times, changing the food- but she was always quick to respond and literally catered to any of my requests. Anything I asked of her, was a problem or issue to her. She never made me feel like an annoyance or too much - she was eager to help and just wanted to make our day special. I would HIGHLY recommend using Catered By Design and Rachel for events.

Throughout the process, Rachel was persistent and prompt with her check ins to make sure that we had everything that we needed during the last few months of planning. During our final venue walk through, Rachel made sure we understood how her staff would function on the day of of the wedding and the flow of the event. This was super helpful and definitely put my mind at ease! On the day of, Aukse was our coordinator and she literally went above and beyond in making sure that everything was to my liking and took care of my husband and I particularly. She had extra appetizers set aside, customized plates for us and save a bunch of desserts for us to munch on. Truly, her team was incredible and all of our guest raved about all of the food, some even saying that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. I cannot recommend Catered by Design enough and highly suggest booking them for your wedding!

They have catered at the Cheney Mansion many times in the past and were quite familiar with the layout, so planning was so simple! We ended up choosing a food station set up, which was fantastic. Almost nothing was left over at the end of the night, which is quite a compliment, both to the quality of the food and their ability to accurately estimate our needs. I reached out to Matt at Catered by Design to see if his team could come up with a week's worth of heart healthy meals for my colleague and his wife, which he did. Then, my colleagues and I all contributed to purchase 4 week's worth of custom meals for my colleague and his wife that could be put in the freezer. (Good thing they have a large freezer!) Again, Catered by Design delivered an excellent product and service! Hats off to Matt, Rachel, and their wonderful team!

Catered by Design is highly creative in their ability to customize menus, the room and so much more. Sam and his team are very, very flexible and will change room setup and menus to meet your needs. He also offers a preferred vendor list if you need a suggestion. We selected a photographer from his list who led us to a great band and the band led us to a great wedding planner. Good know good people and Sam is good people. The reception went off beautifully. Sam and his team worked seamlessly with all of our vendors to create an evening to remember. Everything was set up as we wanted and our guests were impressed with the look of the room and the elegantly presented food stations. It was just wonderful and what we wanted. His staff was attentive to our guests and accommodating to their needs. After the wedding, we had many compliments on the food, the layout and the overall event. In conclusion, Sam Gray and Catered by Design are excellent and we recommend them for the food, the planning and an amazing event.

We worked with Rachel before our wedding and she was so easy to work with. Catered by Design was very accommodating through the whole process. few weeks before my wedding so I began working with Rachel. Both ladies are amazing and there was no issue at all with the transition. Rachel helped me come up with a Plan A and Plan B for the wedding and helped me think through all the little logistical details. Her crew also helped decorate the entire venue. I especially recommend the duck dumpling and mini fish taco appetizers.

Our wedding was an Indian-American fusion wedding and CBD was very open and accommodating to my wishes of having authentic Indian food brought in for the reception. On the day of the wedding, the staff arrived promptly and began setting up. While I knew that Nikee was not going to be there on the day of our wedding, I had hoped that she would have communicated everything with our captain. Unfortunately during the reception, the captain had to come up to me at the sweetheart table to clarify which tables had the kids meal even though all of that information had been turned in previously to Nikee. Other than little things like that, everything was set up beautifully and the staff were very friendly to all of our family members and guests.

Once she handed us off to our Captain, Laura, things continued to go smoothly. Laura checked in with me when we arrived at the location. She also checked in a few more times prior to the ceremony (we had the ceremony and reception in one place [The Redfield Estate at The Grove]) to make sure everything was set up where I wanted and helped us navigate the grounds due to the excess rain days prior. Once our reception started Laura made sure we had little plates from our cocktail hour already sitting at our table. I was shocked because I didn’t expect to get any. She also checked in with her wait staff to make sure we constantly had water or wine. When dinner was being served Laura checked in with us to make sure that our plates weren’t delivered until we again sat down. It was so nice to actually eat our food. Their food is awesome by the way. It was so flavorful, seasoned well and came out really hot. It didn’t taste like “wedding food” and we received many compliments for our cocktail hour food (a charcuterie spread with fruit), our salad, the non-vegetarian meal (chicken with shrimp over mashed potatoes with green beans) and our vegetarian option (risotto saffron cakes). They made our cake as well, a simple two layer chocolate cake with pb buttercream. We went with a small cake because our sweets table was filled with yummy options also from Catered by Design. I highly recommend this company and we’re keeping it in mind for some other events we need to plan.

Sam’s artistic flair makes his food exquisite in appearance and far surpasses any catered foods we’ve ever experienced. Whether it was the transparent wall that brought colorful appetizers to the patio while accompanied by a striking copper tree that displayed champagne goblets for toasting, or the mirrored platters suspended mid-air in the atrium that offered mouthwatering hispanic treats of guacamole and chips, spiralized cold wraps, and outstanding chicken fajitas, guests were amazed by more surprises as they travelled through each room in the mansion. The smashed potato bar served in martini glasses, was gorgeous as well as appetizing, with its choice of sweet potatoes and russetts and enticing platters of luscious toppings from nuts to chives, marshmallows and so much more, while the carving station elegantly offered top sirloin carved to guests’ requests. We recevied endless compliments on the the food and service. Catered by Design also assisted with the design aesthetic of the event and brought our vision to life with linens, rentals, etc.! I cannot rave about Nikee and her team enough. We were blown away and I would highly recommend them for all your catering needs. We were thrilled with our vendors, however, Catered by Design really made everything happen. We owe them our sincerest thanks!

ntinued answering any and all questions I had all the way up to the week of our wedding. When we met with Nikee to discuss the vision for our big day, she was patient and her expertise shined through. My fiancé and I went to dinner after our meeting with Nikee, and one thing stood out - Not once did she say 'No' to anything we discussed. We pride ourselves on being simple people, but with a vision in mind, it was great knowing we wouldn't have to alter our expectations. Again, regardless of how much time we had until the wedding, or how silly of a question I thought I was asking, Nikee was exceptionally helpful every step of the way. We picked out our menu far in advance, but after our personal menu tasting we were even more excited for the big day! Not only that, we were excited to blow our friends and family away with the best wedding food they'll ever eat. We received so many compliments on the food and how well executed everything was that day. Fast forward to our wedding day, our catering captain was Aukse and she was just as patient, kind, and professional as everyone else at CBD. Our florist didn't setup our head table vases, but when I asked Aukse if that was something her team could assist with, she made it happen...QUICK. From the time we were introduced that afternoon, in between our first look and bridal party photos, Aukse would ask if there was anything we needed. Aukse and the rest of the team made sure we ate, and ate well, all throughout the night, that the night was beyond flawless, and that above all else we were happy. Dan and I are so thankful for every single thing CBD did to make our wedding day so perfect. If we ever need a caterer in the future, we know who to call.

During the planning stage, I asked just as many questions, and was answered promptly, thoughtfully, and cheerfully , even though my event would not be as profitable for them. The event itself was all that I had wished for in my own home: elegant, gracious, and above all, stress-free. Everyone at CBD was so helpful throughout the whole process. Immediately after the wedding, one of our guests reached out to us asking for our catering vendor b/c one of their friends was looking for a reputable caterer for their wedding.
