Kerry was wonderful to work with. She responded quickly to e-mails and took care of everything the day of. Staff was so helpful and checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were happy.
The Marriott was the best place for our reception! Kerry was extremely helpful in our planning process and was very upfront about all the costs of the options within the Marriott. They do all the set up and tear down and all you have to do is drop off any extras and they will take care of them. They box the extras up and you can pick them up the morning after! This made it so hassle free! The staff was awesome during our reception and always made sure my husband and I had anything we needed. They directed any problems towards our parents making my night completely stress free! My mom spoke very highly of the staff she interacted with. I would highly recommend the Marriott to anyone looking for a hassle free wedding!!
The way the Marriott chooses to run their business is appalling, and the worst hotel service I have ever encountered. In October, we blocked off 30+ rooms for our wedding in August because we have almost all out-of-town guests. We went to the Marriott, worked with the people there, and signed the paperwork. This was all done 10 months in advance of my wedding. All of our guests were told to book their room at the Marriott, as this is on the website, and all the invitations. This Wednesday, with only 40 days left before my wedding, we are notified that the Marriott CANCELED our entire block and gave ALL of our rooms to someone else. I am absolutely out of luck. The lady on the phone just kept saying “check your contract – we reserve the right to cancel our blocks at any time.” This could not be more disappointing. The entire point of a block is to have rooms reserved, so that 40 days out, my guests will have somewhere to stay. The fact that the Marriott canceled my block with this short notice, and that my time and the contract mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is indescribably frustrating and absolutely the worst business you could ask for when trying to plan your wedding. DO NOT BLOCK ROOMS HERE FOR ANY REASON. Choose to have your wedding guests or any other guests stay anywhere else.
Kerry Brewer, the sales and catering manager, is out of this world to work with. She was organized, helpful, calm and passionate about making sure everything was perfect.
We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding reception and Sunday morning gift opening there and all the events were perfect.
We couldn't have asked for a better venue!

Having our reception at the Marriott was the best decision we could have made in relations to starting the wedding planning process. Kerry helped us find amazing vendors to use and she made sure that everything was PERFECT for the wedding. She truly made my wedding day into a fairytale and I will never be able to express my gratitude enough to her. The staff was wonderful to work with during the reception with everyone checking on my groom and I, making sure that we had drinks and food whenever we needed them. I could not have been more pleased!

We hosted our reception at the Cedar Rapids Marriott in July. We booked over a year in advance and throughout our planning time had a lot of contact with the Catering Sales Manager, Kerry. She was absolutely fabulous! She has been doing this for a long time and has seen it all, so she has lots of helpful advice, suggestions, and recommendations.
The tasting event the hotel hosted the season prior to our wedding was a perfect way to help us decide what to serve for dinner, and all the food was delicious. The staff was very attentive and accommodating throughout our event and our guests all had a great time!
While a few decorative options seem a little pricey (e.g., projector & screen, uplighting, chair covers via their vendor), Kerry was very open to helping us bring in whatever we could (e.g., wine, candles) to keep costs down.
We also coordinated with the hotel to have a room block with discounted price for our guests and a free suite for us newlyweds and that worked very well. Everyone appeared to enjoy their stay.
The Marriott is a fantastic venue for weddings and the staff will work with you to make your day perfect!
The Marriott did such an excellent job and were such a great help when planning my reception. The wedding planner there is so helpful and is very good about answering questions and responding to emails. The night was absolutely perfect, and the room was set up exactly how I had imagined! It is pricey for Cedar Rapids, but you definitely get what you pay for. The staff is amazing to work with, and the quality of the banquet facilities are great.
Kerry at the Marriott is THE BEST around. She did everything for us - and always listened to questions or concerns we had. She was there every step of the way - and at our reception she made sure we looked at everything so we remembered things. I have no complaints. You can tell she truly loves what she does. If you want to book a wedding in Cedar Rapids, do it at the Marriott!
They were terrific when arranging block of rooms for family and guests
This venue was wonderful-they fulfilled my needs and was seamless to get from one portion of the evening to the next! I would recommend it to ANYONE!!!!
The staff and the whole experience with the Cedar Rapids Marriott was amazing! From the food to the decorations, to listening to my husband and I on what we wanted, they did it all! We used the Marriott because they set up and tear down everything for the reception. You are able to pick whatever food you want to have served from a "Tasting" they host months before the big day so you know exactly what everything tastes like. During our reception we even added having pizzas served around 10pm. It was a great snack at that time of the night for everyone! For setup, we were able to drop off center pieces that we made along with party favors, etc. and they took care of all the setup. AMAZING. If we were to go anywhere else, we would have had to setup everything on the day of our reception. There is simply no time to do that. Plus, if you want to have a stress free day and just want to show up to your party, this is totally the way to go! I have recommended the Cedar Rapids Marriott to all of my single friends already =)
I loved working with Kerry! She's very on top of things and the rest of her staff - including Shane - were amazing! She walked me through the process which made sure I didn't forget anything. The staff set-up and tore-down for us. :) Went perfectly and just how I imagined the recption would be.
We had a large wedding. The Marriott was very accommodating and flexible for all of our needs and last minute requests. We have absolutely no complaints.
