We truly could not have imagined a better place to get married than Chalet View Lodge. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was special. Heather was not only a wonderful tour guide, but was also incredibly present and helpful throughout the early stages of our planning journey. Even after we booked, she was always available when we had questions, wanted to talk through room arrangements, or needed help with any of the countless little details that go into planning a wedding weekend. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and was the perfect setting for bringing all of our favorite people together for an entire weekend. Having so many of our friends and family staying on-site made the experience feel like so much more than a single wedding day—it truly felt like a weekend-long celebration. The setting, amenities, ceremony and reception spaces, and overall atmosphere were exactly what we had hoped for. One small piece of advice for future couples: we did find that some of the estimated vendor costs in Chalet View's pricing guide were quite a bit lower than what we ultimately encountered when getting actual quotes. It didn't take away from our experience at all, but it's something we would recommend keeping in mind when building your initial wedding budget. An updated range of typical vendor costs would make an already great planning resource even more helpful. But as amazing as the venue itself is, one of the biggest reasons our experience was so incredible was our wedding coordinator, Savannah. Savannah was phenomenal from start to finish. She was organized, responsive, thoughtful, and somehow managed to talk us down from pure panic more times than we can count. There are so many moving parts when planning a wedding, and Savannah had a way of making all of it feel manageable. As we got closer to the wedding—and especially once the weekend arrived—we never felt like we had to worry about what was happening behind the scenes. Savannah and the entire Chalet View team handled everything so seamlessly that we were able to actually be present, soak it all in, and enjoy the weekend with our friends and family. Looking back, that was one of the greatest gifts they could have given us. Savannah also struck the perfect balance between keeping everything organized and on schedule while still allowing the weekend to feel relaxed and fun. If something needed to be handled, she handled it. If we had a question, a last-minute thought, or a moment of panic, she was there. By the time our wedding weekend arrived, we trusted her completely, and having that kind of confidence in the person coordinating everything made an enormous difference. And, if you're lucky, you may even get the opportunity to meet Savannah's doggy's! Great stress reliever... Our wedding at Chalet View Lodge was everything we hoped it would be and more. We left the weekend wishing we could turn around and do it all over again, and we can't thank Savannah, Heather, and the entire Chalet View team enough for giving us such an incredible experience. If you're considering Chalet View Lodge for your wedding, we truly can't recommend it highly enough. It gave us the wedding weekend we had always hoped for, and it will forever be an incredibly special place to us.

We recently celebrated our wedding at Chalet View Lodge in June 2026, and it was quite simply the best decision we could have made. From start to finish, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. A massive part of that was thanks to Samantha, our included wedding planner, who was absolute perfection. We had multiple planning meetings with her leading up to the big day, and she always knew how to ease our worries and bring our vision to life seamlessly. Day of, we didn’t worry about anything, Samantha had every detail taken care of. We also loved that the entire team was so cohesive—everyone involved was either familiar with or directly worked for the venue, which made communication effortless. Heather was also amazing, seamlessly coordinating all the logistics. Our guests had the absolute best experience staying on site. Having everything in one location—from the accommodations and the welcome party to the pool—made the weekend feel like a true vacation for everyone. Plus, the lack of a strict curfew meant the celebration could go on at a wonderful, relaxed pace. The getting ready room was also a spacious, gorgeous spot to start wedding day morning. If you are considering Chalet View Lodge, do not hesitate. We are already looking forward to revisiting our venue in the years to come!

edible across the board. The venue itself was STUNNING for a weekend destination wedding, where we could get as creative as we wanted for as many various events we wanted to host through the weekend. Savannah was spectacular beyond words, we were so incredibly thankful to have her throughout the entire wedding planning process, and on the day of everything went absolutely perfectly. From my husband's and I perspective, absolutely nothing went wrong, and we got just the same feedback from guests. Savannah was amazing at guiding us through the planning process, accommodating every request that we thew her way, and truly cared about making our experience unforgettable. She took ownership of executing seamlessly with all our vendors & this allowed my husband and I to just have a complete blast! I can't recommend Chalet View Lodge and Savannah enough!

Planning a wedding in another state is no ease feat and Savannah executed our wedding weekend flawlessly. We arrived on Thursday and were greeted with the cute lobby staff. Friday we had our welcome party which was so much fun and went perfectly with Savannah and her assistant Jess making sure all the details were set how I imagined. Saturday was our wedding and it was hands down the best day of my life. Savannah was so attentive, making sure I was taken care of at all times. The ceremony and reception was PERFECT! Savannah made my vision come to life and I cried MANY tears of happiness that night! She even answering my crazy texts at 2am because wedding jitters were in full effect! he beds are the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. The staff were so friendly and always available. I was there for a few nights to enjoy the area and I’ll definitely be coming back! The pool was our favorite amenity which was stocked with towels and many chairs and lounges to choose from. We did go in the dead of summer so it was hot but there was plenty of shade to keep us somewhat cool. The brewery is only open in the evening which was great for us, their selection of food was enough to tide us over until dinner. I could not be happier with chalet view! They even have a night phone so when we left our keys inside the room, there was a manager on site all night to help us get in. Perfect place if you’re looking for a getaway!

ept on the floor due to the uncomfortableness of the beds. They were only approximately a foot off the ground and had no box springs thus giving absolutely no support and you could feel the slats through the mattress. Our room had sharp molding along the floor that sliced my husband's toe wide open when getting out of bed.The lobby closed to give their employees lunch but leaving guests with no bathrooms by the pool area. Temperatures were well into the 90's and there was no space for a larger group to congregate in an air conditioned area to get any reprieve from the heat. Even if one wanted to hide out alone,the room air conditioning did not keep up and you were lucky if you had one chair you were able to sit on in your room . This place is great if you are young but as a resort for a wedding venue some consideration should be given to older members of the family attending the weddings. If you are lucky enough to have grandparents that want to attend your wedding, I beg of you do not book this venue.

One of the biggest reasons planning was so stressfree was Chalet View’s preferred vendor list and, most importantly, the wedding planning and coordination that are built into the experience. We were lucky enough to have Savannah as our wedding planner, and she was truly incredible. She made the entire planning process feel seamless, was always available to answer our questions, and kept every meeting organized and efficient. On our wedding day, Savannah handled absolutely everything behind the scenes so we could be fully present and enjoy every moment. She was constantly checking in on us, making sure we had everything we needed, and somehow managed every challenge that came her way without us ever knowing. We received so many compliments about how smoothly the day flowed, and we owe so much of that to her. Our wedding truly would not have been as perfect as it was without Savannah. friends together on the property for the entire weekend made the experience so special. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the grounds were and what an unforgettable place it is. A huge part of that experience was our wedding planner, Savannah. From the very beginning, she made us feel heard, asked all the right questions, and made the planning process feel effortless. During our wedding weekend, she truly went above and beyond. My bustle broke after the ceremony, and she had it secured with safety pins within seconds. Right before I walked down the aisle, I realized I had forgotten my veil, and somehow she already had it in her hands before I even had to ask. Every challenge was met with a solution before I even had time to worry. Savannah allowed us to be completely present and enjoy every moment of our wedding weekend, and we are so grateful to her, Heather, and the entire Chalet View Lodge team for bringing our dream wedding to life. ssed. From the with the beautiful property, the amazing accommodations, and everything they offered to make our wedding vision possible (rentals, etc.). Heather was amazing to work with during booking: so responsive, communicative, and genuinely invested in making sure we had exactly what we wanted for our big day. We knew we wanted a forest setting, but we didn’t want something overly rustic or a venue where we would be responsible for handling all the logistics ourselves. CVL was the perfect answer. The property itself is stunning, and having all of our guests stay on site with us made the entire week feel like an intimate and unforgettable retreat. One of the MANY aspects we loved was that the tent is included in the cost... such a relief, especially knowing from my background in the wedding industry how stressful (and expensive) last-minute tent rentals can be. We ended up using the tent both nights due to weather! We worked with Savannah as our coordinator, and planning leading up to the wedding was smooth. On the wedding day, her timeline execution was great, and she thought of so many thoughtful little details that made a huge difference: behind-the-scenes photos and videos, a tray of appetizers for us during photos, and even having our favorite drinks waiting after the ceremony. Those touches were very appreciated. Our wedding weekend at Chalet View Lodge was everything we dreamed of and more. The setting, the service, and the memories we made there were truly magical. CVL's team was supportive and accommodating of our nontraditional ceremony, and they also helped us when it unexpectedly rained during one of our ancillary events. Samantha Heskett, our wedding planner, was the real hero of our wedding. She is an exceptional planner and coordinator, and she truly cares about her clients. We had the added challenge of planning our wedding from out-of-state - despite this, Sam went above and beyond to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams. We would absolutely recommend Chalet View Lodge to any prospective engaged couples!

fect amount of privacy. We love that we could do a mixture of outdoor and indoor wedding! We had an outdoor ceremony among all the gorgeous forest trees and reception in their clear tent. Venue site is absolutely lovely with rustic modern cabins, forest background with a small pond on site too! - Beautiful rooms that are updated, modern and elegant for guests to stay on property during the weekend - Full cycle wedding service that includes a dedicated planner to support you from day one to the big day. Our wedding planner was INSTRUMENTAL in helping us execute our vision. She was extremely organized, helped us align on budget, decor/design, contracts, timelines, vendor selection and management and more. She was so detailed oriented and thought of every single thing to ensure we had a fun weekend. Extremely impressed with her organization! They really helped support us from beginning to end to ensure everything ran so smoothly. Week of the wedding, my husband and I were so calm and stress-free which was extremely important to us to be able to enjoy the weekend - venue also includes has an amazing decor rental that is very affordable so we didn't have to go elsewhere and buy things to have to sell them later on. We ended up renting a lot of decor from them that saved us time, money and set up. - the customer support and service from all the staff was impeccable! Everyone was so friendly, accommodating, and professional! r wildest dreams for our wedding. They do weddings twice a week during the warmer months so they are a well oiled machine when it comes to knowing how to run a wedding. The day of we had literally nothing to worry about. We had Leann as our coordinator (coordinators come with the venue which is AMAZING). She absolutely blew our minds with how good she was at planning and executing our wedding. Every single detail was taken care of (and we had A LOT of details). Ten stars. If you are thinking about CVL, just do it. It is the BEST.

ble to experience the magic and charm of the area. The property is spacious, beautiful and has tons of different areas and options for hosting all the events of the weekend. We never felt like we needed to leave - everything was right there, and all our friends and family could easily mingle and hang out. When we did venture out there was incredible hiking in the Lakes Basin up to the Sierra Buttes, swimming in high alpine lakes, fantastic golf courses, world-class mountain biking trails all over, and fun restaurants and shopping in Graeagle. Leann, Emilie and her team went ABOVE and BEYOND to help us plan our wedding weekend - they are truly talented people that want to make everything super special for you. On the day of, they magically disappeared into the background, making everything happen smoothly and go off without a hitch. They make it look effortless and easy, although I know it's anything but that! Again, the CVL staff worked their butts off and made our wedding something we will never ever forget - and our guests won't either. Our friends and family still can't stop raving about the accommodations, venue, service, atmosphere and the overall experience. Can't recommend CVL enough!

r lead coordinators, Leann, who was an absolute dream. Many people say that "no" is not in their vocabulary then can't actually deliver, and when I tell you "no" is not in her vocabulary - I am speaking from experience that she absolutely CAN deliver. She is an incredible combination of calm, resilient, dedicated, efficient, and a hole heck of a lot of FUN - all of which you need in the perfect wedding planner. I can't thank her and the whole CVL team enough for everything they did to make out "wedding weekend" a success. If you're looking for a magical forest dream straight out of a fairy tale, look no further! They will support you every step of the way to help create whatever vision you have from design aesthetics to how to have that difficult convo with that difficult family member ;) One of the best things about them is their relationship with their incredible vendors - Blend (caterer) and Petitie Street (cocktails) are the most dynamic and exciting vendors I have worked with in a long time! (This is coming from someone who has worked in events for 10+ years). Their professionalism and skill in their craft were highlights for all of our guests. We also loved working with DJ Sawyer, Olivia garvin (makeup), Katie Palin (photography), and Jamy @ Desert Beauty Salon (hair). The only slight blimp on the perfect event was working with Anastasia at Walnut & Main for florals. While her designs were beautiful, working with her was quite unpleasant and difficult, leading to some frustration and her not creating the exact vision I was going for. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your florals. Overall - the experience was a 12/10 and far exceeded any of our expectations - and we had high ones! They truly have a dream team and my husband and I (along with our guests!) will forever be grateful to them for creating one of the most magical experiences we have had in our lives. I hope someone reading this will get to share the same experience as we did!

r. The venue is so picturesque and gorgeous. All of the guests were on cloud nine staying here and it was hard to not have the time of our lives. The rooms are beautifully designed with elegance and taste. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in a hotel (multiple guests wanted to know what the brand was, haha). The activities for guests were endless on-site, you really did not feel like you needed to leave the property except to hike or see some of the natural beauty around Portola. For anyone looking at this venue for their wedding, I HIGHLY recommend it. You will not be disappointed and the staff/wedding planners give you an open drawing board to create whatever you envision for your big day. We did not want the weekend to end. Not having planned a wedding before, Chalet View/Paulette gave us the tools necessary to make it a smooth and relatively stressless process. Paulette made it so easy for us and we trusted that she would handle all of the little details we had no idea went into a wedding and she absolutely crushed it. We couldn't be more grateful for Paulette going over the top for us. She puts her heart and soul into her job and it is impressive to watch how detail-oriented and organized she is. We have spent many hours with her over the last year and she works so hard at her job - we love you Paulette! I have zero complaints about choosing this venue. The staff went above and beyond in accommodating our 116 person wedding and everyone loved them. hich meant that the ceremony was just stunning. When we were looking at different venues, we knew that we wanted to find somewhere that would be somewhere between a destination and local wedding (we live in the bay area), let us host a late-night party, and provide as much as possible onsite and CVL nailed all of that. The venue is gorgeous and I love how our photos turned out, the staff were wonderful to work with, and overall our experience was exactly what we were hoping for. When looking for a venue, it was important that we found a place where we could spend a magical weekend with our friends and family. CVL was that for us. We worked with Leann, and she was a fantastic planner. She was fun, creative and such a supportive team player. We could not have had the weekend of our dreams without her wonderful help. I would highly recommend Chalet View Lodge as a venue to anyone.

the venue site-unseen and while it was definitely stressful putting down a deposit without seeing everything first, it was the best decision we could have ever made. Carrie and her entire team were incredibly helpful from the moment we started planning last summer, and the property is simply gorgeous. If you like the outdoors, this place is for you (and even if some of your guests don't, they have a very cute pool with cabanas as well as a spa!). The grounds are incredibly lush and well-maintained, and the pond really is stocked with fish!! I also can't stress enough how perfect the property is for a wedding with guests of all ages. We had a fair number of children attending and all of them had a blast - because the property is big but not *too big*, most of the kids could explore on their own without parents worrying and a few even learned how to fish in the little pond. Again, this place is perfect for families, if you have any attending. We did notice that there were a few small things missing (full size mirrors in the cabins and villas, for instance, which is tough as a bride since I was staying and getting ready in one of the villas and couldn't see my entire dress in a mirror), and the waitstaff at the restaurant seemed overwhelmed at times, but otherwise the rooms are really nice, the food was great, and every person who stayed was definitely impressed. Alex was even able to program the tablets in the rooms to show the schedule of events, which our guests found really helpful. They also loved the complimentary continental breakfasts in the morning. The one thing I should note is that the area was inundated with carpenter bees, so even though they don't sting, be aware that once you're outside they are *everywhere*. There isn't much Chalet View can do about it, but if you or some of your guests are terrified of bees, it's good to know in advance. In the end, almost every single one of our guests has described the weekend as "magical" and we credit Chalet View for providing such a magical site and atmosphere. We've already decided to come back for our anniversary and host a family reunion there at some point in the future - that's how amazing it is. Can't recommend more highly! View Lodge created such a perfect balance of simplicity and elegance that I hoped for in the design. I truly felt like I was a guest at my own wedding. The friendly staff took care of our guests and made sure everything for our event ran smoothly. Many of our guests mentioned it was the best wedding they’ve been to. The decor, florals, entertainment, food, beverages, and venue were perfect. My only regret is that it all had to come to an end! A truly auspicious event thanks to the gorgeous setting and wonderful team helping to make our special day a reality. Thank you!

apa and Sonoma only to realize that the "Pinterest Wedding" I've been planning since 2012, is out of reach unless we take out a 2nd mortgage. We wanted to stay "as local" as possible and avoid any traveling. With traveling comes extra costs not only for us but our guests and the idea of planning a wedding and meeting non-local vendors gave me so much anxiety. But because I wanted a venue that was nothing short of magical and not break the bank or sell our house - I knew we had to think outside of the box. So we planned a weekend trip after a year of being engaged & looking endlessly - we booked a tour there plus 5 other venue tours in Lake Tahoe. Our first stop was at Chalet View. That was also our last stop. After seeing the entire Resort and spending the day w/ Alex (Co-Founder) we knew that our search was over. It's hard to put into words how amazing this venue is. You almost have to see it for yourself to understand. Alex also made our decision easy. He's one of the kindest and most genuine people we have EVER met - period. Just a few things we love about Chalet View: - Stunning, stunning, stunning - You feel like you are worlds away but really you are just a short drive from the city! It's located about 50 miles north of Truckee, 54 miles to Reno and just an hour north of Lake Tahoe. You book the entire 10 acre resort which means you can have an entire weekend of festivities and the 51 guest rooms / suites / cabins are so amazing and AFFORDABLE - your guests will love you! Each room provides access to an unrivaled mountain sanctuary. - PRIVACY. The entire weekend and resort was spent w/ our family and friends only. This ensured that no strangers roamed around the property during our intimate ceremony and reception. - No curfew and music ordinance. We didn't have to kick anyone out by 10 PM (like most weddings). No need to worry about rushing the day of the event. - Resort restaurant and brewery have the most incredible food which our guests enjoyed the entire weekend. - In-house brewery. What?! - They have a golf course, Volleyball, Bocce Court & Pool - Firepit by the pond - which is where we had our welcome reception. Smore's! - Indoor event center which is also big enough for a wedding but we used it for our rehearsal brunch on Friday and day care on Saturday during the wedding. - Spa where you can get a facial or massage before the big day! - Starbucks Kiosk inside the hotel - World Class hiking trails - Impeccable Service from every single person that works there - Amazing backdrop of trees and nature This place became so special to us, we plan on spending on spending our anniversaries and vow renewals here. It's truly one of our favorite places in the world. This ethereal destination transcended elegance and absolute romance - it made my wedding dreams come to life. We absolutely love the natural glamour of the outdoors paired with sophisticated décor that our wedding design team from Quality Events Design provided. Your wedding location will bestow endless opportunities to unveil the first of many truly enchanting moments. You want to find a venue so magical & memorable for you and your guests and Chalet View is that magical place for us.

changed all of our plans. They drove guests through the snow, they offered to move a guest and her children's room because she was staying near the bar where we had to move the reception early because of ice, and they constantly checked in about how they could help. The rooms were perfect, the brewery is amazing with great food, the restaurant was fabulous - I can't say enough about how great the Chalet is. If we had to do our wedding all over again, I would do it all over at the Chalet for sure.
