We used Chariots for Hire for 4 54-person shuttle buses and a private car for our wedding day because our church and reception venue were about 25 minutes apart. While not very responsive via email, they talked through the details several times and helped us sequence the shuttles to save room in our budget. All the drivers were on time, buses were in good condition including AC (which we were nervous about with an August wedding!), and we had a particularly fun ride home with music playing to keep the spirits up after the reception ended. I'd encourage phone calls to coordinate with them, but we had a great experience working with them for our wedding.

They killed it! We wanted a 50 person party bus for our wedding party, which I thought would be impossible to find... but they had it! And for an affordable price. The driver was also incredible and had wonderful patience and communication. He also let us add an hour to our reservation the night of when we realized we were having too much fun and wanted to stay on the bus. No issues at all! Perfect experience.

The price was good and the car was nice, but we were a bit disappointed in the service. We didn't get the contact information of the driver until the night before our wedding, and we passed along our info. None of our contacts nor us ever received a call when we arrived. We then did an exit tunnel with glow sticks to the car. When we got to the car to leave our wedding...the door was locked. We tried again...still locked. We tried the other side. Locked. Then my husband saw this guys standing about 5 yards away...and was like are you the driver? He was! He was paying no attention, looking at us and seeing the exit tunnel and just seeing us trying to get into the car. He then slowly walks over and lets us in. Its now a funny memory, but it was a bit unsettling at the time to have our awesome get away hit snag because the driver was not paying attention. Overall communication was severely lacking, but price and car were good.

Chariots for Hire were used for our wedding transportation for guests to and from our wedding at Bluemont Vineyard. I commend their efforts, as they had to navigate huge 50+ passenger buses through the narrow and crowded country roads on a perfect fall day where many people were driving to pumpkin patches and apple orchards. While this did cause some delays to the shuttle schedule, none of that impacted the rest of the day. At the end of the night there was a hiccup when the shuttle drivers did not check in with our coordinator to make sure every one had boarded the shuttles, and they subsequently left my husband and I (the bride and the groom!) behind. Thankfully we had family members sticking around who drove that could take us back to the hotel, but that was a funny end to our night.

We hired a 55 passenger bus and tour guide for a pre-wedding guest event. Chariots of Hire mapped out a custom tour schedule and route for our guests, based on our favorite places in the city. The staff was incredibly responsive and kind, helping us think through possible solutions for guests with mobility issues and what the best transport options were. Our guests LOVED the four hour tour around DC, and some said it was the highlight of the whole wedding weekend! Cannot recommend them enough. Good pricing, great value, excellent tour and bus! Our tour guide was AMAZING.

We used the 56 passenger bus to shuttle our guests to the venue and back to the hotel. The shuttle arrived on time and got the guests to the venue on time. Couldn't ask for anything more :)

I used Chariots for Hire for two of their coach buses to transport my guests around and I’m so glad I chose them because they were great! They arrived early and were on time for all drop offs. The drivers were super nice. A gift was accidentally left on the bus, but the driver made to sure to drop it off at their office so that I could pick it up. I would highly recommend their services.

I had a very frustrating time searching for transportation for our wedding. Most places took forever to respond, then just as I thought I found a company they added on all of these fees that they had not originally mentioned and the price sky rocketed. Then I contacted chariots for Hire. they responded immediately, their pricing was clear and upfront and everyone was quite friendly. The day of the wedding, they arrived promptly and I received email notifications when they did. Both drivers were great! (We had a 57 passenger bus and a town car.) Our town car driver even recommended a great photo moment as we were getting in the car. Chariots for Hire was a great company to work with!

As the Mother of the Bride I wanted to be sure to warn all potential customers to not use Chariots for Hire. The small size bus we contracted for was not provided. This was the first point of info we communicated to them and it was repeated over and over. The large bus could not get completely to the venue. Our guest were late as the buses were late picking them up at the hotel. And, one had non working AC on a 95 degree day. They were rude and uncooperative both the day of the event and in the follow up to this nightmare. Steer clear.

I wanted so badly for Chariots for Hire to work about, but they were the most disappointing vendor we worked with. Despite a clear order and schedule coordinated with the company, the day of was a mess. One of the buses was late picking up guests. We were given a larger bus in place of one of the buses, when there was a very good reason for ordering small buses - the bridge was too small for a large bus! As a result, the large bus was unable to cross the bridge, and our guests had to get out and walk to the venue. This delayed our event by almost 20 minutes. On top of that, the bus had no working A/C on a 95 degree DC summer day. To top it all off, the drivers were rude and unhelpful when our planner asked for their help to problem solve. After submitting our complaints with Chariots post-wedding, it took almost 2 months for a resolution and did not offer a fair refund. When dealing with such special event like a wedding, you would hope that a company would follow through on the exact order, and have top-notch customer service. This was not the case with Chariots for Hire. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your day-of transportation needs.

Chariots for Hire did a great job. They were timely and had great customer service. The only thing we noticed is that our 18 person limousine was looking a little run down. Our town car that took us following the wedding was top of the line and clean though! We would recommend their services to anyone looking to meet their transportation needs.

We had a 20 person shuttle bus pick up our hotel guests from the hotel and take them to the wedding ceremony/reception, and bring them back after the reception. They were extremely professional, on time, and even stayed a little after because we were waiting on someone. The driver was awesome, the shuttle was so nice and clean, the price was amazing compared to what we found with other companies, and this was run like a professional business which we did not find with other companies. I would recommend this company to anyone getting married and for wine tours, birthdays, etc. because of their professionalism! Thank you Chariots!

Shuttle bus was 45 minutes late, didn't know how to get from the hotel to the church! Limo was filthy and the driver was rude. The only plus is they gave me my money back for the shuttle...I would have paid twice that for the right service! Don't skimp here, ask a concierge to handle this!

We used Chariots for Hire on the day of our wedding and they provided great service. We order two 10-person limousines to transport the bridal party and parents separately from our host hotel downtown to our venue in Potomac. They were clean, on time and the drivers were friendly. I would've taken a different route but we still got there fine. In my correspondence with their customer service personnel, I provided fairly explicit instructions for the remaining vehicles and it seemed like they were followed. We had two 57 passenger motor coaches to transport over 100 guests from two downtown hotels and they seemed to go just fine, although one bus was delayed and it delayed our ceremony by 20 minutes. The return trip we added a 30 passenger bus which the bride and I took only to have it break down! The company re-routed another vehicle to pick us up and 20 minutes later we were on our way.

The limo was hot when the bridal party first got in it and the tv screen had plastic over it. My first impression was not that great, but then I remembered that we got a good price for it. The driver was accommodating, which made up for it. During the time the bridal party didn't need the limo he offered to take trips to our host hotels to pick up guests. That was a nice touch.

We worked with Tommy at CFH and he was happy to help us fill our needs on our budget and made sure we had exactly what we needed in the time frame we needed it. He helped us organize a limo to take each half of the bridal party to the venue from our hotel exactly on time and comfortably and a limo to take the whole party back and out for drinks after! We spent the whole day riding in comfort and style and had a safe ride home at last call. I'm looking forward to finding a day to use them for winery touring in the future!

Chariots for Hire was a great company to work with for our wedding. We rented a limo and a 31 passenger shuttle bus. Both were great, everyone was on time and the drivers were very nice. I 100% recommend using this company for any limo/shuttle bus needs. Thanks!

I booked a 14 passenger Hummer and 33 passenger shuttle bus from CFH for my wedding. The Hummer arrived 15 minutes early, which was good, but took a long, residential route to drop off the groomsmen at the church. I had to call the driver to see if he was coming back to the hotel to pick up the bridesmaids. The shuttle bus for the guests worked out well. It arrived on time and completed the scheduled number of trips as listed in the contract. An unpleasant surprise was the overtime charge we received on the 14 passenger Hummer. We were charged $90 for 15 minutes of overtime! As the bride, I wasn’t wearing a watch, so I can’t confirm we were actually running late. The vehicles were clean and the company was fairly responsive. I’d suggest assigning someone to WATCH THE CLOCK and give very clear directions to your driver.

On the day of my wedding, as I was putting on my dress I received a call from the limo company. The limo I booked air conditioning was not working and they had to send a party bus. I was thankful they had something to send, but disappointed, because we would not be able to take “classic” pictures with the limo. When the party bus got to us, it was not 100% clean. Sticky floor and seats. They hadn’t had time to clean it properly, because they were just trying to get to us. Overall they did give me a credit back which I appreciate, because I understand things happen. Luckily they were able to send me something else. If not, we would not have been able to get to the church all together. We will be using them again, and we will be recommending the company.

Chariots for Hire provided limo transportation for my wedding party and shuttle bus service for guests. The were reliable, professional, on time, and easy to communicate with prior to the wedding.

Office very nice. The limo for the attendents had no A/C (June wedding), and the carpeting was soaking wet. The limo driver did not think that he needed to solve those major issues and did not know where he was going. Fortunately the attendents did. The bridesmaids shoes were stained. We put plastic down in the limo to keep further damage from happening. Thank goodness the bride got dressed at the church. Johnny did give us a partial refund, but did not really appologize or explain what happened. He also ignored our request to compensate the bridesmaids to get their shoes cleaned or replaced. I would expect that the driver should have reported the issues and gotten a replacement vehicle or vehicles for us. We were VERY disappointed and lucky it was not 100 degres and humid.

We used them as our wedding limo service and they were excellent. Great customer care, very upfront with payment information. They were very honest about their pricing and even told me advice about how other vendors will not tell me about extra taxes that would be added at the end. Their staff the day of the wedding was also excellent - so friendly! I would 100% recommend using them and in the future I will use them again if I ever need it!!!

Our driver was on time and he was very personable. He also had waters on the bus for us free of charge for everyone to drink. We thought he was great and would use the same company again!

We hired a shuttle to transport the guests from the hotel to the venue. When my father fell ill the night before, and came to the wedding late, everything was pushed back. Moustafa was amazing. He went out of the way to get my wedding dress & stayed late, since everything was pushed back! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We used Chariots for Hire on our wedding day and were so happy we did! We had quite a large wedding party (18 of us in total!) and needed a limo to accommodate us. We chose the Apollo which held 22 and sat all 18 of us comfortably. Our limo driver, Mike, was on time and professional. He drove us all around DC and made sure we had a great time, which we did. I would recommend Chariots for Hire for any bride and groom looking for a limo!

Our driver was very polite and arrived at the house early! Limo was very clean and looked great. They were great to work with and had one of the best rates in Northern Virginia.

Our driver came on time and let us do whatever we wanted with out alotted amount of time. One thing that was a pain was that we had to rent the shuttle bus for four hours even though we really only needed two. The bus picked up the groomsman, then came to pick up the bridesmaids, and then dropped us off at the ceremony site. We were able to send the shuttle back to the hotel to pick up some elderly guests and friends and have them dropped off at the ceremony site as well. This was very helpful. The driver was so nice and accommodating to what we needed. He even helped me with my dress.

I recently used Chariots for Hire for transportation for my guests to and from the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Friday, as well as for transportation for myself and my bridesmaids to the wedding on Saturday. Chariots for Hire did a great job and I would use them again for any transportation needs. When calling to find out if information and whether they would be able to help us with our wedding transportation needs they answered the phones quickly, were courteous, helped me understand what would be suit our needs and what the prices were without asking. Our drivers on both Friday and Saturday showed up early and got us to where we needed to be quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend them for any transportation needs!

We took a LIMO BUS it was awesome and had plenty of room for us to stand up and dance. My whole wedding party LOVED it so much they want to take it again for fun

They were amazing to work with. We rented two different vehicles for our wedding. We had a limo for the wedding and party bus for the after party. Each driver was on time, very nice, and extremely helpful with everything. All the vehicles were spacious and extremely clean. I don't have anything bad to say about my experience. They made sure they were on time and we left on time. It was like having an extra coordinator :) I will definitely be recommending them to everyone.

Excellent service. Driver arrived early waited until we were ready to depart. The driver was very flexible and patient with us as he drove us to different locations on the National Mall for our wedding photos. The limo was clean with plenty of bottles of water. Chariots for Hire was one of the least expensive local limo companies, but they delivered top notch service!

We had a very positive experience with Chariots for Hire! Our driver was great - very flexible, helped put things in the limo, helped me in and out with my dress, etc. They even made a special note that I was requesting the a/c be fully working for our July wedding transportation! :) The driver was on time and professional.

We had a large bridal party so we rented the Hummer limo. This was the only car that fit our entire party. It was spacious, clean, ect. The issue is that we got married on the hottest day so far this summer in DC (heat index was 115) and the AC was barely working. The guys in their tuxes and the girls in satin dresses, were dying and we had to cut our photo session short because we were so hot and couldn't catch a break in the limo. Our driver, however, Kelvin, was awesome. He did everything he could to make us more comfortable. He took us to some great photo places in DC. I also had him for my bachlorette party. He knows all the great spots. If you book with this company, I highly recommend requesting him as your driver. Without him,I probably wouldn't be writing a good review at all!

We rented a 12-person limo for the bridal party and towncar for us. The drivers were on time and knew exactly where they were going so we didn't have any of those horror stories about getting lost on the way to the ceremony! The only reason they are getting a 4-star rating is because the A/C was broken when they came to pick us up to take pictures and we were melting on the hot June day - however it was fixed by the time the limo went to pick up the guys.

Van and driver were on time and provided good service. Expensive because you must rent for whole time period and we only used to transport guests to/from hotel and venue at beginning and end of celebration.

We used Chariots for Hire for a wine tour the day before our wedding and it was fabulous. The driver was on-time and very friendly and helpful. We also used them the next day to shuttle our guests to the wedding and it did not go as well. The bus was extremely late and caused confusion that resulted in our guests getting on another wedding's bus. All of this could have been avoided if they had arrived at the scheduled time.

The driver was nice and on time and the limo was great- BUT she got lost on the way to the venue TWICE- very stressful!

I saved a winter special promotion I had saw the previous year and they had no problems honoring it for our wedding day. It was very easy to book and everyone I spoke too was very pleasant. The driver arrived on time and was super nice! He helped everyone in and out of the limo, held my dress, bouquet, whatever was needed, and was just very attentive. He was very courteous and polite and made our limo rental quite pleasant. I definitely recommend their services.

The service was reasonably priced, the driver was on time and most courteous but we took some kind of crazy long way back to the hotel and missed 30 minutes of our cocktail reception--major bummer. Check your driver's route before headed off!

We had a lot of out of town guests and some from around the Northern Virginia area who chose to stay at hotels as close as possible to our beautiful but remote wedding venue at a Loudoun County winery. Chariots for Hire coordinated with us to have different cars and pick up times for the families and wedding party as well as a shuttle from two different hotels to the venue. The drivers were timely and professional and kept track of who was supposed to be where when....something the rest of us were having trouble with! At the end of the reception my husband and I had a fantastic driver who had made a CD for the occasion - and he sent us home with it. A very nice touch!

I'll attempt to keep this review as objective as possible, but it will be difficult considering the quality of service (or maybe non-service? disservice?) that I've received from Chariots for Hire. For our wedding day, we reserved 3 vehicles for transportation and confirmed the reservation multiple times. Vehicle 1 - 14 Passenger Van - Scheduled to pick up the bridal party from the church after the ceremony (3:30pm) and take us to the reception venue for pictures before the guests arrive. They sent a 14 passenger van, but it was missing an entire row of seats. An 11-seater 14 passenger van. We were forced to flag down family members in the street and ask them to go directly to the reception venue and not back to the hotel first as they had originally planned. Not what we paid $565 dollars for. Vehicle 2 – 56 Passenger Bus – Scheduled to pick up guests from the hotel at 4:30pm and take them to the reception. 4:15pm… no bus. 4:30pm… no bus. 5:00pm (reception starts)… still no bus. Needless to say, my new wife and I were a little stressed out that the reception had started and half of the guests were still missing. After our friend had called Chariots for Hire multiple times, a party bus (the ones with stripper poles – defiantly not what we ordered) arrives at the hotel at 5:15pm and the remaining guests cram in and show up to the reception an hour late. Vehicle 3 – 33 Passenger Bus – Scheduled to pick up guests from the hotel at 4:30pm and take them to the reception. This one actually showed up on time and was the correct vehicle. Two out of three ain’t bad, right? Not when it’s one of the most important days of your life that you spend months planning, confirm your transportation reservation multiple times and drop over $2,000 so that your friends and family can enjoy the reception and not have to worry about driving. Needless to say, there were some people that were upset. I wish the story ended here. The next day we receive an email from Chariots for Hire thanking us for our new $57 purchase. Apparently one of the busses went over the booked time slot and they charged us an overage fee. Really? They show up an hour late and then charge us a fee when they (allegedly) went over the paid time? Upon calling Chariots for Hire the next day to explain the situation (and inquire about the $57 charge), they seemed like they could care less. Not once did we receive an apology or an admission of wrongdoing. I might as well have been speaking into the box at a drive-through. After being on the phone for 40 minutes, we were assured that someone from customer service would call us on 10/11 – the day we were back from our honeymoon. I followed up today and was told that the only person that can help me is on a medical leave of absence. I will be sure to update this response with their resolution.

From my experience with limos and proms, I worried of course that the hummer limo would be late for my wedding picking up the bridal party to take us to the church for the ceremony. CFH was such a great experience!!! The driver was there not only a half hour earlier than the time we were expected to leave, she was helping everyone in the house get ready (helped untangle the necklace a BM was wearing). I was really happy with the service, though we had them for just a short time. Definitely recommend!

CFH was recommended by my wedding planner. We used a 17 passenger hummer to take my bridal party to the church, to pictures, and then to the reception. The vehicle was to pick us up at 12:30 and drop us off at 5. Everyone got picked up and were to the church on time. For pictures, we hadn't decided on the location until the last minute. The photographer suggested a place and the limo driver insisted that he knew where he was going and that he wanted to lead the way. He ended up pulled over on the side of the road for 10-15 minutes because he was confused and had to get out of the limo to talk to the photographer to find out where he should go from there. My husband, who was in the limo, knew where to go but our driver insisted on speaking to the photographer, who was in a separate vehicle. We eventually made it to the location and were able to take pictures. On the way to the reception, however, the driver did not take the most direct route, but rather took back roads. We ended up being dropped off at 5:11pm. CFH charged us an additional $96 for being 11 minutes late. Upon returning from our honeymoon and seeing the additional charge, I called CFH to explain what happened. I spoke to Chris, who was very polite, and he said he would have to speak to his driver and get back to me. After not hearing from him for a few days, I called back. It was his day off, but he did return my call the following day. He did not immediately remember what we had discussed the first time we had spoken. However, once I reminded him, he agreed to refund us half of what we owed. So those 11 extra minutes were only $48 instead of $96. That refund was definitely better than nothing, although I do think it was a bit excessive considering we were late because of the driver's insistance to lead the way. The limo itself was very nice. It was clean and spacious. The only issue I had with it was the lack of AC. We got married on a very hot day and the air was not very powerful. However, we did have cold water, which definitely came in handy.

We rented the party bus to take us and the bridal party from the vineyard where we got married to JMU's campus 20 minutes away for pictures. Since we couldn't find a vendor that offered this service we looked into finding someone who would be willing to travel 2 hours from the Northern Va area. I got a lot of quotes but Chariots was by far the lowest and the most accommodating. It was a great time to relax and have fun before the ceremony and more than worth the money. There is no way we would have been able to make it to the campus and back before the ceremony and get all the pictures we wanted.

The staff of Chariots for Hire were very nice. The driver was excellent. He was patient and courteous. The only issue was the vehicle itself. It rained on my wedding day so I did not expect the exterior to be clean however, I did expect the full word "Escalade" to be on the vehicle. The "C" was missing. On the inside, everything looked worn and tattered. A few of the seats were cracked but the vehicle was not old. The company did rectify the situation by giving me a credit on my card of 1 hour of service but that does not change the fact that I do not have pictures of us getting in or out of the limousine. Very nice driver though...
