Leading up to our wedding I have nothing but positive feedback. The event director was super helpful, and paid attention to all details to develop a plan for the day of the event. ...On the day of my wedding, I was left disappointed by things that happened on/before our wedding. A week or two before the wedding we were informed that a different Coordinator would be the day of contact for the venue. This was the first we had heard of this change, although we were promised that she was briefed of all the needs for our day, that did not seem to be the case.
First, she threatened to call the police on our DJ the night before the wedding because he had stopped by the venue. He was not familiar with the area and was only making sure he knew where to go for the next day. The Coordinator was at the venue, and proceeded to threaten him for trespassing. Secondly, on the day of the wedding guests were not let into the venue during cocktail hour, which is not at all what was in the plan. We had added the lawn on for an additional cost and chose to have the cocktail hour out there. For some reason she was not allowing people to go to their tables inside the venue. This was not a part of what we had planned for, as we knew some of our guests would want to be seated during this time. When my 83 year old grandmother tried to sit outside on a picnic table for a minute because her legs were hurting, this Coordinator quickly came over and did not ask her to please get up, but was impolite and demanding. Had she been allowed to take her seat in the venue that we rented, this would not have happened. In order to “allow” people into the venue, my husband and I had to cut our pictures short and had to return to the venue.
As the wedding day went on, there were many things that transpired. She was incredibly rude to mine and my husbands entire family, she had completely walked in on my sister-in-law who was using the single restroom and continued to clean the bathroom while she was physically going to the bathroom, which is beyond inappropriate and unprofessional, she tried to end the event at 10PM even though our contract stated we had it until 11PM, and she refused the come back on the Monday after our event to meet with the florist so they could collect their items, even though the wedding Director & I had agreed that we would meet on that Monday. These are only a few of the many disappointing incidents from our day.
Overall, it became very clear she was not up to speed on any of the details from our day, that had been planned out. It's unfortunate that all of this transpired, because of how excited my husband and I were to have our wedding day at CYC.
For all of these reasons, I unfortunately will not recommend CYC. I have worked in events for the past 6 years so I more than anyone understand the ins and outs of how these things go. The unprofessionalism and how our families and my husband and I were treated on our wedding day is extremely disheartening.
