Celebrating our wedding at Chateau Bellevue was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, bringing a timeless classic backdrop for all of your wedding photos. The staff was extremely professional and helpful with everything big and small. We likely tested the limit for how many questions you can ask a venue and we got everything answered in a timely and thorough manner. We went to every single food tasting they provided and can attest to the quality of the food, not to mention the enjoyable experience of visiting your wedding venue multiple times leading up to your wedding. Possibly my favorite thing about Chateau Bellevue is that it is located in the heart of downtown Austin, but the second you walk in the doors you would think you are in a totally different and beautiful world. 10/10 recommend!
This turned out to be a beautiful wedding but not without it's issues, which is why I am rating it 3 stars. Planning a wedding is hard enough, but trying to plan one at an out of town venue is even more so. That being the case, of course we had questions that needed to be answered in a timely manner. Getting those answers proved to be difficult, making the planning a lot harder. Communication with them is extremely lacking. I'm not speaking of the people in the office, but rather Chateau B's sales and event person. We understood that post covid they would be busy but had numerous emails that were just ignored, as well as text messages and phone calls. If you're okay with the lack of communication it is a pretty place to get married but really only worth it if you have your guests enter through the historical part of the building. You have to hire valets in order to do this. I wouldn't say don't get married here, but if you do, be warned that communication is lacking, entrance choice is important, and EVERYTHING (uplights, floor length tablecloths, etc) is extra. Also, examine your final bill. We ended up paying double gratuity due to the wording "service fee". In their defense, once I realized and questioned this, I was promptly refunded.
Chateau Bellevue was the perfect venue for our wedding. We had around 60 people and it was the perfect size. The location of the venue was perfect and next to quite a few hotels, and also captures the history of Austin which makes it even more special. Food was included as part of the venue and it was INCREDIBLE - we received so many compliments from guests. Kate did such a wonderful job working with us to make sure everything was as smooth as possible (even being new to the venue and transitioning from a different person). I would absolutely recommend Chateau Bellevue if you’re looking for a smaller wedding and want a super intimate and elegant experience for your wedding.
When I booked our venue, my husband only had two requests: the food needed to be good and it needed to have plenty of options for photos. Oh and be economical. Triple check for all of that at Chateau Bellevue. We wanted something close to downtown if possible since so many of our friends and family were most familiar with the downtown area, and it really is a hidden gem. Amber was so easy to work with and the food…put it this way, I seriously considered ditching the spanx I had on to feel less constricted so I could eat more. It was that good. Even better than at the tasting and it was delicious then. The space was perfect for our smallish group (around 60 in total), plenty of room for dancing and mingling inside to beat the heat. The cocktail hour space was great too, but with how hot it was everyone just kind of ending of mixing between the reception space and cocktail hour space but it flowed really well. The getting ready space was great on the side the bride and bridesmaids were on, perfect amount of room for getting dressed but hair and makeup there probably wouldn’t have gone well. The guys space was pretty solid too, but it was definitely significantly warmer over on that side and once we got the first look done and pictures with the bridal party, everyone hung out in the bridal room. Heat definitely rises here so if you’re wanting to get pictures upstairs in some of the more historic areas and it’s a really hot day, just be warned that you will be sweating. A lot. But the different areas for photos, honestly, I’m obsessed and love looking through our album just to see the different spots we took advantage of. It really was everything we were looking for and then some. The best part for our guests was the ample parking in the heart of downtown.
Chateau Bellevue was a perfect setting for our wedding.
The historic building is a great escape from the modern downtown Austin scene.
The outside courtyard where we had our ceremony was beatiful and well kept.
All of our wedding guests loved the scenery and our vendors had worked with Chateau before so they all had an easier time doing their jobs as well.
Amber was so helpful with our barrage of questions and confusion during the entire wedding planning process. We would not have had such a fun and low-stress wedding without her help.
We highly recommend Chateau Bellevue for your wedding.
We cannot recommend Chateau Bellevue enough.
Location: We live out of state and hosted our destination wedding here. The location is ideal for out-of-town travelers. We reserved a block of rooms at a nearby downtown hotel and guests were able to walk to the venue for both the rehearsal and the wedding. Because we were downtown, guests also got to enjoy Austin throughout the weekend.
Planning/Logistics: Amber and the team at Chateau Bellevue were wonderful to work with. We always felt like we got a straight answer and were very aware of everything that was going on. Pricing was transparent and reasonable. Amber answered all of our emails with random questions. The team was so accommodating and wonderful as we had to reschedule twice due to 2020.
Wedding Vendors: About half of the vendors we chose were preferred vendors of Chateau Bellevue (though you can use anyone you want). All of those preferred vendors were wonderful to work with, which speaks to the high quality that Chateau Bellevue expects. (Be sure to hire Bride's Best Friend as your coordinator - Cassie was a grand slam)
Food: Not having to book an outside caterer made planning much easier. We got many rave reviews about the food. In particular, the beef roulade was cooked to perfection. We chose family-style service, and were very impressed how each table was served with all of the platters at once. Our guests loved family-style as they got to try everything and get seconds of things they liked. We did not attend cocktail hour but did eat some appetizers in our suite and they were delicious. We highly recommend going to a catering tasting - we had our hearts set on one entrée but changed our minds after the tasting.
Event Setup: Make sure you add a second bar! Amber convinced us to do it last minute and we are so glad we did. One bar was set up inside and was easily accessible by the guests in the dining room. The other bar was set up outside on the lower patio, and many of our guests let us know that they loved being able to be outside in the beautiful night weather and take a break from the dance floor (not us, though...).
Alcohol: You get to bring your own, which is a huge cost savings! We provided a full bar with two signature drinks and spent $20 per person, and had alcohol left over. Our wedding was on a Sunday, so we were able to bring our alcohol and mixers to our rehearsal on Saturday and the venue team set all of our items aside for us.
The venue: It's drop-dead gorgeous. There are historic rooms, balconies for sunset, a gorgeous magnolia tree to get married under. There are separate suites for the bride/bridesmaids and groom/groomsmen that we were able to retreat to throughout the reception (though we chose to get ready offsite). There is no grass, so no one has to be worried about getting their shoes dirty or sinking into the ground. There is a large parking lot and an elevator so it is very convenient for guests.
To sum up all of these points, our wedding was perfection and it would not have been that way had we not hosted it at Chateau Bellevue. You will not go wrong booking here.
A beautiful, historic venue with excellent in-house catering and a top-notch events director! We are so glad that we booked our wedding at Chateau Bellevue--many of our guests commented on how visually stunning and comfortable the spaces were, and we were impressed by how much of the setup and serving pieces were included as part of our booking package. There was also plenty of parking for guests in the private lot, and they were very courteous in setting up a schedule for deliveries ahead of the wedding day.
The events coordinator Amber was incredibly friendly, organized, and responsive, and we felt like our day was in great hands. If we had another major event to host we would choose this venue in a heartbeat!
Chateau Bellevue was the first venue we looked at but we knew even before we left that we didn’t have to search any further - this was it! If this historical building located in downtown Austin doesn’t immediately win you over with its romantic French architecture, intricate carved wood doors, and beautiful chandeliers - then meeting their amazing event manager: Amber Pipa sure will. She is an absolute dream to work with and was one of the most integral parts of our team to give us the most PERFECT wedding day (no exaggeration, if all of our guests are saying this it must be true ;) ! Amber’s organization, creativity, and flexibility are just some of her many skills that helped execute our vision while keeping us within our budget. Lastly and most importantly, Chateau Bellevue’s staff are LGBTQ allies and you can rest assured knowing this is an equally inclusive venue for all couples. My wife and I are so honored to be the first lesbian couple married at this beautiful historical building ran by the Austin Women’s Club, and we are so grateful that we won’t be the last!
We had our wedding here 9/28/19 and it was so beautiful. Here are a few reasons why I looooved this place:
The outdoor garden under the magnolia tree made for such beautiful pictures for the ceremony.
The food was amazing and not outrageously priced. We loved that we could come in for a testing with other couples so we could see the venue set up and sample a TON of different items.
Amber, the venue coordinator was so easy to work with, responsive, and laid back. Her and my wedding coordinator seemed to have a great relationship too which made me feel very comfortable.
Being able to bring in your own alcohol really cuts down on the cost.
The venue is absolutely beautiful!!!!
My wife and I had our wedding at the Chateau Bellevue in October of 2019 (115 people) . The event setup allowed for different atmospheres for the cocktail hour, ceremony and reception, all of which were excellent and allowed for a great and seamless flow through the night. Pre-wedding support was excellent. Couldn't ask for better experience.
The historical building is so enchanting, Amber the Event Coordinator is organized & thoughtful, the food was delicious& it is an all inclusive reasonable price. Unlike other downtown venues you don’t pay extra for parking or have to hire out catering or pay extra for linens, tables & chairs. The bar staff are fantastic & we could comfortably accommodate 130. The Wyndham is across the street which was convenient! The photos taken with the lovely windows & exquisite woodwork & architecture were treasures! Our guests couldn’t stop commenting on what a wonderful experience this was!
My wife and I hosted our wedding here in May and couldn't have been happier with our decision. I believe the venue's photos speak for themselves but there is still so much more that deserves praise. The excellent network of wedding services that were offered at their open house stream lined so much of the entire process. Their own kitchen had so many incredible options that it was hard to narrow down exactly what we wanted to serve at the wedding. Most of all though was how easy they were to work with. We lived three hours away and their coordinator, Amber, helped in every way imaginable which was not always easy given that we live in Houston. I jokingly called her a walking Xanax because there was not a single moment that she was not there to help alleviate any situation or already had the foresight to catch a problem and have it taken care of beforehand. She fulfilled her duties as a wedding coordinator marvelously, impeccably representing Chateau Bellevue and the Austin Women's Club with the highest regard, and deserves the most credit for our memorable experience with this venue.
I had my wedding on 6/1/2019 at Chateau Bellevue and it was the best day of my life!!!! From the first time I ever contacted them, everyone I spoke to was so professional, kind, and knowledgeable. It was love at first sight when we went to tour and made a decision to book that day and this was after touring 5 other venues (some even in Houston) but we felt so at peace with booking at Chateau Bellevue. I can't sing their praises enough because every staff member I encountered was amazing. They do all the catering which scared me at first but I went to the tasting and brought two girlfriends, we were absolutely blown away by everything we tasted. The food was sooo incredible it was hard to make a decision! I got to personally meet the chef that night and he made a hybrid menu for me to make sure I was able to include everything I wanted. When I went to have my alcohol and decor dropped off the day before the wedding, I met one of my bartenders (the in-house bartender) - I didn't have a signature drink and she offered to make one up for me (everyone couldn't stop talking about how good it was). Amber is the sales and events manager who I worked closely with and she puts her heart and soul into her job! She is one of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of working with and she made the whole process flawless. She went above and beyond trying to make sure everything was perfectly organized and truly made me feel so special. The venue speaks for itself in it's beauty, but the staff there is what truly made it all perfect. I could keep writing paragraphs about how wonderful Amber and everyone was. Thank you for the most perfect day - y'all made it all happen.
Beautiful venue in the heart of Austin! You can see both the skyline and the historic arches of the estate in our photos. Everything was stunning and the food was excellent. I wouldn't recommend filling the reception hall to capacity unless the weather outside is perfect for mingling because it can get a bit tight in there. There's no complaints though - we had 120 people and it was the perfect amount! We left the doors to the courtyard open and there was room for everyone. I do recommend getting ready elsewhere if you have a large bridal party, as the (beautiful) bathroom is too small for more than 3 people to get ready in. The look of the venue and the food is worth a bit of compromise, in my opinion. I highly recommend!
We absolutely loved Chateau Bellevue! It was stunning and all of our guests commented on how incredible and historic it was. We worked with Mandy throughout our wedding planning process and she was extremely helpful! She was readily accessible to answer all of our questions, comments, and concerns. All in all, it was a great experience and a perfect venue for us!
Chateau Bellevue is the dreamiest venue ever, and Mandy was so great to work with!!! Our wedding was perfect, and CB was very prompt in their responses throughout the entire planning process. I just wish we could relive the night all over again. CB is a hidden gem in downtown Austin!!!
The Chateau Bellevue was everything we could have wanted and MORE. From the start, Mandy was super communicative and accommodating. She answered every question I had thoroughly and with such grace & kindness. The day of, the staff at the Chateau were so helpful, bringing us anything and everything we needed for a great day. The space is stunningly beautiful and the staff is top- notch! Thank you to the Chateau and everyone involved for a flawless day!!!
I hosted my wedding reception at Chateau Bellevue 10 years ago (2008). It was a truly extraordinary experience from start to finish. The property is stunning, the staff professional, food was delicious, and the location is perfect.
Fast forward to 2018. I wanted to do something special for our 10 year anniversary. I contacted Caitlin who helped me plan something wonderful to surprise my wife.
A decade later the Chateau Bellevue Austin Woman's Club continues to impress me.
Thank you Caitlin, Mandy, and Chateau Bellevue for your help!
Perfect venue for our ceremony and reception. A lovely setting with delicious in-house catering and attentive staff. Gorgeous backdrop for our once-in-a-lifetime memories!
Having my wedding at Chateau Bellevue was a DREAM. The location is perfect (in downtown, but you wouldn't know it just looking around. It looks so elegant, and you can't even see the more modern buildings around from the ceremony area!)
Mandy was the one we were in contact with, and she was always prompt with her responses, and more than accommodating. I had multiple instances where I had to change things after confirming it prior (such as an appointment to view the venue, then had to change the date a week later) and she was always understanding. The rest of the staff were very helpful and the price for this venue is fantastic.
The food was spectacular. I still dream about their potatoes and crab cakes. We also had the beef tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection. My guests were all very impressed with the food and the venue, and the pictures turned out so well! I wanted to get married in a location with a little history and elegance and this venue was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
We got married at Chateau Bellevue earlier this month on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in the romantic courtyard under the magnolia tree. Our ceremony was very intimate in the courtyard and we felt so connected to our guests in this space. Following the ceremony, the upper lawn is the perfect place for guests to mingle during cocktail hour. If you have already toured this place, you know it is absolutely dreamy and I am sure you can imagine yourself as a princess in your own fairytale. If you haven’t visited yet, I implore you - please go visit! You will fall in love as well.
Beyond the charm and naturally romantic ambiance that embodies this gorgeous late 19th century chateau in the midst of historic downtown Austin, the staff that comes with it is equally as charming. While it may give you hesitation at first to not be able to select your caterer, as it is required that you use Chateau Bellevue, do not worry! Both ourselves and the guests were gushing about the food!! At the suggestion of the venue coordinator, we served buffet style and everyone got to have a bit of everything! The head chef, Jeff, allowed us to customize our menu to exactly what we wanted, which was spiked with fall flavors. We even got to do a french fry bar during cocktail hour and I must say, they were some of the best fries of all time - and I am a fry aficionado! Aside from the food, the overall planning process with Mandy, the venue’s Sales & Events Manager, was so easy! She is super friendly and helpful and never made me feel like I was pestering her with the millions of questions I asked.
Last, and important to note, are two things: 1. We live in Houston and most of my family and friends live on the east coast, so it was pretty much a destination wedding. Chateau Bellevue is located really centrally and is nice for those getting their first taste of Texas (and Austin) to be able to explore and have hotels so close by. 2. I avidly researched upwards of 25 venues in and around Austin. Chateau Bellevue hits every mark - it is reasonably priced versus comparables such as Allen House and Barr Mansion as well as venues further out like Camp Lucy and the Winfield Inn. However, you don’t sacrifice having a stunning wedding here! And the price does include a lot of items other places nickel and dime you for, including tables, chairs, linens, glassware, plates, etc. It is important to note that you are required to have a coordinator (of your choice), but honestly, it was money super well spent as it allowed us, our wedding party, and family to really revel in the glory of the day and not worry about all the small things!
I would wholeheartedly recommend Chateau Bellevue to any prospective brides with confidence, and am so happy with the choice we made for our special day!
This venue was incredible. We did both the ceremony and reception at Chateau Bellevue. It was the only venue we toured together and we were immediately sold. It's reasonably priced and they do pretty much everything for you. They handle set up, break down, linens, china, food, etc so you don't need to worry about anything. And if you're anything like me and don't know how to decorate anything at all, it's perfect because it's stunningly beautiful on its own. I feel like it's risky signing on for a venue that does its own food but it turned out to be the best gamble ever. The food was INCREDIBLE. Everyone raved about the food. The staff is also super helpful and accommodating. You can't go wrong with Chateau Bellevue!
My fiancé and I had the misfortune of our original downtown venue canceling us 17 days prior to our wedding. I contacted Chateau Bellevue in hopes of using their space. They were extremely accommodating, very kind and prompt to get us a quote. Though, the venue did not suit our preferred wedding style for our already planned wedding- we will certainly use this venue in the future!
The place was amazing! Mandy was always helpful, attentive & accommodating, just like the rest of their staff. Everyone loved their food, which was really delicious. Their pricing was also super affordable considering what you get for it. Truly the best choice in venue we could've made :) Thank you so much!
We absolutely loved having our wedding at Chateau Bellevue. It was the perfect size for our smallish wedding. Our 100 guests absolutely loved the venue and the food! Working with Mandy made our wedding run smoothly. Even when the elevator unexpectedly broke the day before, Mandy made arrangements for our guests to have valet parking so they were not inconvenienced.
For a downtown venue, it offers so much in beauty, history, excellent food and parking to top it off. Our day was beautiful and memorable due to the great staff here.
We had a wedding reception at the Chateau Bellevue in May and we couldn't be happier with the venue. Most of our guests had never been there before and were amazed at how beautiful it was, especially the outdoor area. The food was great and the bartenders made the cocktail recipes we gave them perfectly, the drinks were a major hit. We had never planned a party this size but Mandy the event manager guided us through every step and gave great recommendations for vendors or people we should contact. It definitely made everything much easier on us and we'd love to have another party there again someday.
One of the best things about Chateau Bellevue is the catered food. It's extremely rare to have good "banquet" food at an amazing venue. It's usually one or the other-- Good food, mediocre place. Or amazing place, yucky food. Chateau Bellevue's food was the best reception food I've ever had. And I've been to some pretty swanky weddings. You can have a plated dinner reception or buffet style set up. We went with the buffet style just to save us from all the hassle. The food was fantastic! We had the tenderloin and pecan crusted chicken! The food was warm and fresh and delicious. Many people went back for seconds. That food was better than some of the top restaurants I've been to. I highly recommend this place! I'd get married here again and again. We got so many compliments on the food.
My husband and I had seen this venue many times during our walks downtown and had even attended events at the Chateau, so it was a strong contender for our wedding. After meeting with other venues that are similarly priced, however, the Chateau definitely ended up a cut above the rest. While you are limited to using their catering services, their chef prepares phenomenal culinary delights, and we had a difficult time choosing our dinner and appetizers because of it. Additionally, compared to comparable catering companies, the Chateau Bellevue is a bargain. The Chateau is all-inclusive, providing silverware, linens, glasses, and basically anything you need to host a wedding event, taking a lot of the stress out of executing a wedding the day of. On top of all that, their staff is accommodating and helpful, and Mandy in particular earns huge kudos for her organizational skills and suggestions. Another hidden advantage of the Chateau is, in case of inclement weather, the entire ceremony can occur indoors. This was not an issue on our date. In fact, the weather was so gorgeous that the large doors between the courtyard and the ballroom were opened for the reception, creating a massive, spectacular event space with different levels and ambiances depending on your current partying mood. If you are considering the Chateau, though, book early! We booked a year in advance, and there was already heavy interest in our wedding date (Oct. 17). You don't want to miss the opportunity of getting married here.
Chateau Bellevue came up on my planning radar because of its location. We wanted a downtown venue for about 100 guests that had space for an indoor reception, and the free parking was an added bonus. We scheduled a tour with Mandy, and knew we were in good hands. Mandy was helpful and quick to respond--she even recommended our officiant when we were chatting with her about planning progress during our food tasting.
Speaking of food, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. After tasting Jeff's delicious creations, I immediately contacted my planner to make sure she knew it was a priority to box up a meal to be sent to our hotel after the wedding. Our guests were wild about the buffet we served (apps--chicken salad sandwiches, risotto balls, sides-green beans, potato gratin, entrees--herb-crusted beer, pecan chicken), and my first post-reception action included eating potato gratin (from both of the boxes my planner sent with us--sorry husband).
On our wedding day, we knew we had a stream of storms heading our direction, and CB staff was so perfect with their weather radar apps to determine if an outdoor ceremony was possible--they knew exactly how much of a window we needed to put out chairs, seat guests, and get through our 18-20 minutes ceremony without soaking everyone. With a 7 minutes delay, we hit the window they calculated perfectly, got married under the sweet magnolia, and even had most of the cocktail hour on the lawn before CB staff gave us the 7 minute storm warning to get inside. 8 minutes later we were enjoying the torrential storm from our comfortable ballroom.
Additional notes:
-free 2 hours for bridal portraits before the wedding--I highly recommend using this. My husband and I decided to take photos together 2 weeks before the wedding, so we did first look photos at this private session with our photographer, and it eliminated a lot of wedding day stress because we knew we had great photos going into it. Now we have sweet first look photos, and we still had the cool experience of seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day at opposite ends of the aisle.
-though they said they wouldn't have a room for the groomsmen to get ready, we were surprised day of to have separate spaces for both sides to get dressed. Excellent adjustment.
-Gorgeous venue. Really. Perfect for simple decor. We didn't do anything to decorate the ceremony courtyard because it didn't need it.
-It's worth upgrading for the Chivari chairs they rent. It hurts if you're trying to scale back your budget, but they're so pretty and they make a big impact.
-Their staff is great, flexible, and easily accessible.
-Our younger guests loved being able to walk a few short blocks to West 6th to continue the party.
There's nothing I would change about choosing Chateau Bellevue. We had an amazing wedding because of their attentive, thoughtful staff, and I know we'll have a stunning backdrop for ceremony photos.
My only complaint--I don't have easy access to Jeff's cooking. I'm planning to crash a wedding here in the future for the food. (Or you could invite us--we're sociable and decent dancers.)
I had a very hard time choosing a wedding venue but once I made my choice I never looked back. Chateau Bellevue was a wonderful unique venue in the heart of downtown austin with the feel of a european affair. Our wedding was Vintage Romantic and the venue was such a compliment to our theme. Mandy was very accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. I highly recommend this venue.
Chateau Belleuve was the perfect venue for our wedding. The building has a lot of character, beautiful courtyard, and great good. Everyone raved about how wonderful the food was. Mandy the wedding coordinator is a pleasure to work with. She's very helpful and super responsive. Overall, wonderful place!
We absolutely loved Chateau Bellevue. My fiance (now husband :)) immediately wanted to have our wedding there. The appeal for him was in the beautiful architecture and historical nature of the building. He wanted to get married in a place that had a history and story behind it. I loved that aspect but also loved the intimacy of the courtyard and the ballroom (reception area). At night, the courtyard is lit up with twinkle lights and people can go in and out of the french doors between the ballroom and courtyard. It makes for a fairy tale like atmosphere. My guests were amazed we found the place. Some of them have lived in Austin for years and didn't realize this beautiful place was tucked in right in the middle of downtown. It gives it such a feeling of privacy that you feel like you've entered another world.
As for the people, they are amazing and I can't praise them enough. Mandy is so sweet and wonderful to work with - she gives you a feeling of peace and is so professional and efficient with everything, you immediately relax. That meant so much for us when planning every little detail. She was also excellent at providing recommendations and advice when we needed it - from appetizers to cake cutting to the champagne toast and lighting. She is great with giving you the best pricing options and recommending what makes the day less stressful and knows the place so well when it comes to details like table placement and lighting. I can't speak highly enough of her.
And finally, Jeff provided outstanding service as general manager and executive chef. The food was absolutely delicious and impressed everyone. The dining experience was very well coordinated also and everything went smoothly. They made sure we had our plates ready while everyone else was getting their food, so we had a chance to eat before chatting with everyone (you also have the option of having a private table). We managed to successfully clean our plates before feeling like we needed to be social. We had been told that we wouldn't have a chance to eat but we made sure we were able to enjoy the delicious food that we selected and it was worth it! :)
We both felt like the evening could not have been more perfect - we only wished it could have gone on longer. We can't recommend this place enough!
After being shocked by the cost of other venues, we were ecstatic to find such a true Austin gem. Chateau Bellevue is absolutely gorgeous, a piece of Austin history and a practical downtown venue (with parking!). Mandy, Jeff, and the rest of the staff did an amazing job throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. Everything was exactly the way I had envisioned it, and everything ran extremely smooth. Our guests raved about all of the food, and many said it was the best wedding food they had ever eaten. I highly recommend Chateau Bellevue for a venue both on looks and service.
I wanted to send a quick note thanking everyone at Chateau Bellevue for an amazing wedding experience for my daughter and her new husband. The venue is perfect in every way and the staff were professional, friendly, and provided perfect customer service. The food was over the top amazing and everyone enjoyed every perfect bite. The wedding event went far beyond my expectations and I will remember the experience for the rest of my life. Thanks to all of you
We held our wedding at Cheateau Bellevue in March 2014. The staff, especially Mandy Outen, were amazing and super helpful throughout the planning process. The food is good, not amazing, but good and well priced. The tasting was a little disappointing as we couldn't personalize the menu, but our selections on the day of turned out fine. We would recommend CB to anyone looking for a budget-friendly venue in downtown Austin!
Chateau Bellevue was a perfect venue for me and Steven- we wanted something naturally gorgeous that we didn't have to decorate, something downtown and something convenient! We had a little issue with their last event coordinator telling us a number of people we could have at the wedding and then what is actually able to hold- but their GM, Jeff, handled it with class. He worked with us to ensure our happiness and that the day went smoothly. The only reason I'm giving the service 4 instead of 5 stars, is their event coordinator now was a little cold and didn't seem to want to work to make things fair (false promises from previous coordinator). Once we talked to the GM, it was compromised and sorted correctly. The event coordinator now, Mandy, was great at responding to email and all our questions, she was just a little impersonal (didn't even acknowledge me on the wedding day), but she was all business. Other than that small issue, everything else was great! People had a great time with the set up, and the gorgeous courtyard. Such a convenient location WITH parking spots! I wouldn't have changed anything :) oh, forgot to add- the food is AMAZING!!! We have gotten a ton of compliments about the convenience and the FOOD! So delicious- everything from the bread to the main courses.
Chateau Bellevue hosted our wedding ceremony and reception in early March of 2014. We were extremely happy with the pre-wedding communication, flexibility, helpfulness, and knowledge of Mandy, the events coordinator, and Jeff, the head Chef. Although our ceremony was supposed to be held outside in their lovely courtyard, Texas weather kicked in the morning of, the temperature dropped 30 degrees and it started raining in a matter of hours. Mandy and her team moved the ceremony inside, rearranged everything, and the whole night was flawless (the guests never knew it was to be held outdoors). Let me tell you about the food... the appetizers are delicious and the dinner was remarkable. I am a foodie, I grew up helping my mother cater weddings, and I cook the dinners at home, so I appreciate a great meal, and even more a great meal served plated with a variety of food choices, and all allergies accommodated. Jeff, the head Chef, and his team are skilled, hard working, and friendly as heck.
The historic beauty of the venue, 80 parking spots for your guests, the proximity to some great after party bars, the quality of food and service, and the reasonable fees make Chateau Bellevue an immense value. Our guests had an amazing time and my bride and I are greatful to the staff at Chateau Bellevue for making it all happen.
I used this venue for my wedding and there is no better place for a wedding. Gorgeous place from top to bottom, fabulous staff, delicious food, and they are totally willing to accommodate whatever you might want or need. YAY!
The historical elegance of this venue is absolutely timeless. My husband and I are both history aficionados and loved every detail of this venue! There is an authentic William McKinley desk in the getting ready area with tons of vintage books. We highly recommend Chateau Bellevue!
We used Chateau Bellevue as our reception site and were so, so happy we did! The food was absolutely delicious, the location was perfect, lots of character, warm and romantic, wonderful staff and its byob! It really was everything we wanted! Mandy, the events manager, was so sweet and so great to work with too! She was super responsive to any and all questions via phone or email.
On the day of everything went very smoothly, and all of the staff did a fantastic job of serving and accommodating all of our guests. Everyone was so impressed! Mandy even brought us plates of appetizers and dinner so we could be sure to enjoy all the delicious food! We could not be happier with our reception choice!!
Happiest AND easiest day of my life! Stacey's guidance was incredible and always helpful. The staff is impeccable and extremely friendly. The value is outstanding. We love this place and are so happy!
Is it really over? Really?!? Our wedding was pure magic, and so much of it had to do with the amazing venue that we searched for high and low. I am so happy that we chose to have our special day here. It was the perfect day at a perfect place. We are so happy that we could share such an incredible time with our families who traveled from so far away.
A special shout out to Jeff, who perfected the dishes that we worked so hard to customize. Truly, everyone at our wedding said they felt like they were in a movie. How many times can someone say that the movie was actually their REAL wedding day?
Thanks so much for everything.
I just LOVED Chateau Bellevue from the moment I saw it!
First of all, it is perfectly located in the downtown area, so we did not worry about our guests traveling safely to their hotels. Many other venues are a 20+ minute drive from Austin (or areas with reasonable hotel options).
Second, the venue itself is simply gorgeous (especially at night with their enchanting lighting). You will have an abundant number of stunning photography options between the gorgeous architecture and the antique decorations. You get amazing views of downtown from the balconies as well. What unparalleled charm this place has!!
Next, both Stacy and Jeff are wonderful to work with. I was working with 2 other event coordinators at CB before Stacy joined, and I was so pleased to see Stacy come along. She really gets wedding planning and is so helpful! It makes all the difference working with someone who understands what you are going through and can offer you real help and straight answers. She always follows through with what she says. Also, you will NOT be disappointed with Jeff's menu (Chateau Bellevue's resident chef). Everything we tried from his kitchen was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Our dinner was truly gourmet! He was also flexible with how we wanted the dinner to flow and offered delicious alternatives for our veggie guests.
After the wedding Stacy was still helpful. We had mistakenly left a couple things behind (even though we did our due diligence to get it all that night). She knew what was ours and had it put aside so we could get it the next morning.
If I had one complaint - it would just be that I wish we could have stayed longer. We were having such a great time and the venue was so beautiful, but we had to leave at 11pm. Also, Fun Fun Fun fest was going on at that time and you could hear the music during the ceremony. However, it was in the background and did not interrupt the courtyard ceremony at all (maybe even offered some Austin charm). ;)
Other bonuses - free parking! You can also leave your cars overnight, as long as you pick them up by noon the next day - GREAT! Good indoor and outdoor options so you don't need to worry about inclement weather (which luckily we didn't have to).
When you put it all together, Chateau Bellevue helped us have the PERFECT wedding. We had such a great time and will have beautiful memories forever. Big thanks to CB and team - you truly have a gem in downtown Austin!
- From a very happy bride!
Our wedding here was everything I dreamed of! The best value in downtown Austin, if not the whole city. Stacy is just wonderful to work with and Jeff, the chef, is highly skilled. We had crab cakes and prime rib for our dinner and everyone raved! Don't be fooled, the prices are very competitive! You can bring in your own alcohol as well, which saved us a pretty penny. The venue is breathtaking. We took photos here before our ceremony and they are stunning (The Mill Photography.) the courtyard is beautiful at night and we opened the doors to make for an airy night. We added up lighting, thanks to Stacy's recommendation, and it really added a romantic and modern twist to the historic sight. I can't say enough how much we enjoyed the night. If you don't consider Chateau Bellevue for your special night, you're really missing out! This place is quietly hid downtown and many people told us "we have parked here before and never even noticed the mansion", which is kind of funny. I guarantee this place will become a "hot" venue and will become difficult to book in the upcoming months! We used Jackie at Pearl Events as a day of coordinator. She and Stacy have impeccable communication and I didnt notice if anything went wrong... If it did i still dont know about it! Thank you Chateau Bellevue for making our night so beautiful!
I can't say enough about how happy I am with how my wedding reception turned out at Chateau Bellevue! Where do I start? Well, the service is exactly what you want. Stacy, the events manager, is very thorough and is a bride herself so she knows exactly what you want and need, and thinks of things you probably haven't thought of. The service during the reception was great. Several guests complimented me on how good the staff was at picking up dishes, which is very important to me. Chateau Bellevue makes you look good and you didn't lift a finger!
The food is VERY good. People are surprised because generally speaking no one expects wedding reception food to be good. Jeff Christenson, the chef, used to be at Hudson's on the Bend, a premier Austin establishment, and it shows! We had a delicious steak stuffed with gouda cheese and mushrooms, and people keep telling me how much they loved that steak! I want to recreate it at home! Oh and the potatoes! And the salad!
Finally, the building has so much history and is really lovely inside. I had 150 guests and it was the perfect size for everyone to have a seat and have a good atmosphere, including dancing. The outside courtyard is nice too and is good for cocktail hour and your smokers later in the evening. We took photos in the mansion and they are fabulous! The staircase going into the ballroom is perfect for a grand entrance. The location is perfect for your guests who want to walk to West 6th Street nightlife. The pricing is very reasonable and you can have a classy, upscale wedding for less than the typical downtown venues.
I can go on and on... Overall, this is a great place for a wedding reception in downtown Austin, and obviously I am a very satisfied bride!

My husband and I got married at Chateau Bellevue (home of the Austin Women's Club) in November of 2011. We booked the venue back in May 2011, and at that time dealt with the manager Amber.
The venue is beautiful. It is an old mansion tucked away on 8th between San Antonio and Nueces. The location is fantastic for guests who might want to do a bit of bar hopping after the reception (as mine did :-) We were married in the courtyard, and had the reception in the ballroom inside.
In the middle of planning, Amber was fired. I was a bit upset, as I was told that Amber had told us some incorrect things (like that we would be able to have a cocktail hour in the upstairs parlor area). However, Tracie, the new manager, and Kristi were so incredibly helpful and flexible. We were able to decorate the exterior and interior how we liked. We went ahead and had a cocktail hour on the small lawn and patio upstairs, and it was beautiful. The Chateau helpfully set up a bar on the lawn, and allowed us to hang lights and other decorations.
I have received so many compliments from our guests about the food, especially the bread. There was a wonderfully cheesy topping on the rolls that was amazing. We had queso and Tiff's Treats for our guests later in the evening, and I was happy that the the Chateau accommodated us in bringing out queso and chips at the same time - late night snack!
Thank you, Tracie and Kristi, for helping make our wedding one of the best days of our lives. I would recommend the Chateau to anyone having about a 100 person wedding. It's beautiful and has a castle-like feel. We even had my sister and her daughter sing during the ceremony from the balcony above. It was magical.
We searched all over Austin for the perfect "destination" reception place without being too far from the downtown church. We decided on Chateau Bellevue because it is such a beautiful classic place. The location is perfectly in downtown. a few blocks away from 6th street. Parking included for guests.
There was one bump in the road we had during wedding planning which was a change of managers 2 weeks before the wedding. The Austin Women's Club (the owners) were very accomodating and still followed through everything we had through with contract agreements and verbal agreements.
Anyway, otherwise, the experience was everything we wanted!
FOOD WAS AMAZING TOO!!
So initially, I heard back from the vendor almost immediately - but closer towards the wedding date, it took almost 2 weeks to hear back from her. That was the only issue on that side, b/c everything otherwise went really well. They helped get everything set up, had great ideas for things and helped things run smoothly. The food during the tasting was amazing but the day of, the food when it came to our seat was a little cold...and we had an alfredo sauce, so that was a bit tough. Again, though, overall - the service and help Amber and her team provided was great!! I would make sure you have things as clear as possible initially and also stress that you want things a certain way...or have a buffet versus a seated dinner. I have as yet to have had a seated dinner where the food was served piping hot, unfortunately.
What was not to like?!? The food was fantastic, the ambiance perfect, and the pictures were beautiful. The Chateau was a perfect setting with all of the amenities that we needed and staff that made sure everything went right.
I found Chateau Bellevue online in a wedding blog. I was very limited to the amount of venues that were located in downtown Austin. I worked along with Amber to make everything picture perfect and it was. I rented my own table and chairs, hired a valet, cigar roller, gelato bar, a band, & a photobooth. I filled the Chateau Bellevue with all visions. Along with my vision and the beautiful venue, the wedding was beautiful. This venue has a very European flare and is filled with old world flavor. I love this type setting and it was perfect for what I was looking for. Their website doesn't offer too many pictures of weddings but if anyone is interested in how my wedding looked here is the video from the day:

Chateau Bellevue and Amber Dodson were an excellent choice! I only had a great experience with Chateau Bellevue. Many of my guests commented that they felt like they were in Europe. I loved the classy feel that the Chateau provided! If anyone is looking for a place that is reasonably priced, downtown, and is flexible with many needs. Amber will get it all done!!! Thank You!!
Our guests and we all loved the venue. Unfortunately they ran out of clean glasses at least once during the cocktails and once during the reception. The buffet was late getting started and our wedding coordinator said she wouldn't tell me all the things that she had to step in on to make sure the went right. But, other than a few guests drinking beverages out of the wrong type of glass, they all enjoyed the venue. Using an outside vendor is an option, but an expensive one since they charge you a per head cost for your outside vendor. Everyone liked the food, though it wasn't exactly what I ordered.
The venue is beautiful, needing limited decorations; the price cannot be beat. Amber (the venue manager) bent over backwards to ensure that my daughter had a great wedding. (My daughter lived out of state, so I did all the venue coordination). Up until the last minute, we didn't know if the wedding would be able to be outside or inside. She had the venue set up for inside, and 40 minutes before the wedding, the rain cleared, and she flipped the venue to be outside in under 10 minutes, and they had their imagined wedding venue. She is very flexible about what you can do (overall, in respect to the venue) and does everything she can to keep your costs low. The venue has all you need, except tablecloths, and everything is high quality and beautifully displayed. She is a bit slow to respond to emails, and if rushed or stressed, can appear brusque, but she is as nice as she can be and will take any issues from the wedding or reception upon herself, relieving you of stress during your event. I found her easy to work with, and she delivered what she said she would.
The Chateau has a very romantic feel and the architecture is so beautiful. The staff and manager are so accomedating and professional.
