My fiancé and I booked our wedding with Kosch and started planning our dream wedding. Things quickly went south with lack of communication on their end. First our tasting event was canceled one week prior to the event, next our event coordinator left the company and we were assigned someone new, this was not communicated to us until trying to contact the previous coordinator in an attempt to finalize some details. It was a constant voice mail and email waiting game dealing with them. Finally we were told just 30 days prior to our wedding that our event would not be able to go through and no dates would be available the remainder of the year. Faced with this tough decision we requested a refund being as no services had been rendered and they would not be able to host our wedding and on such short notices a change of venue or date simply was not possible or acceptable. I was then told that they would not honor a refund. So our deposit plus extra money paid towards our event is all being withheld without and services being provided. DO NOT BOOK YOUR EVENT WITH KOSCH!
Robert and the staff were amazing! The food was great! We got so many compliments on how amazing Everything was.
We got married March 14, 2020 right before the state shut down due to COVID and they hung in there with us, helped us every step of the way and everything turned out wonderful!
The food was excellent & the service was even more awesome! The catering staff literally catered to my needs, were so kind and approachable and we loved, loved, loved their food! 5/5!!!
I couldn't have been more pleased with Emily and the Kosch Catering Crew. I had a choice to use 8 different vendors and after having conversations with them all Emily was the one I was most comfortable with. She helped us create a beautiful menu and we couldn't have been more pleased. We also had a horrible time with our venue. There was massive construction making it difficult for the crew to access the banquet room AND we had to change the start time of our reception to an hour later than scheduled. Emily and her crew overcame all of these obstacles and were able to provide our guests with an amazing brunch. We couldn't be more grateful for all of their hard work on our special day. Thank you Emily and Kosch Catering!
We had a great experience working with the team! Our venue only used Kosch and Kosch Catering handled all of the details with the venue and they were fantastic to work with! Lana was always very responsive from the day we asked about information and available dates, all the way up to the week of the wedding. Our on-site banquet manager, Robert, was absolutely the best! He went out of our way to make sure everything was coordinated and set up perfectly, and he also helped my singer and family with some last minute issues with our sound and speaker for the ceremony. I cannot say enough about how great Robert and the rest of the staff were, the day before and the day of the wedding!
Kosch is the exclusive caterer for our venue so we were a little nervous when first deciding on everything. We never needed to worry about anything! Kosch was patient and kept us in the loop throughout the entire process even catering to our somewhat extreme dietary restrictive menu for food allergies. Even in the days leading up to the wedding, our day-of coordinator was in constant contact and made sure everything was perfect and ran perfectly! The food was also absolutely amazing. We can't say enough good things about the amazing people we worked with! Thank you Lana and Michelle!
We had our wedding at Indian Springs Metropark and were required to use Kosch Catering. Lana was very thorough to work with through email. She always answered all of our questions very quickly. The food selection was expansive. Our guests really enjoyed our food! We had the strolling dinner package. Michelle was our day of coordinator and she was AMAZING. I loved working with Michelle. She was very kind and thorough.
Absolutely AMAZING! We had nothing but compliments on our wedding food.
Not only is the food great but the Kosch staff is too! We had a couple of hiccups and they were right there to step in and help.
Everyone is still raving about the food at our wedding a month later! The staff was professional and made sure we had a great reception!
I was a little worried when I booked with Indian Springs Metropark that we only had one option for our caterer. The tasting they provide for couples is once a year (a little too close to our wedding date to find a different venue & caterer) and we weren't completely sold on the food we tried at the tasting itself. However, we chose the strolling dinner package and we are SO HAPPY WE DID! The food at the reception was amazing, and our guests could not stop talking about how good it was! From the "butler" passed appetizers, to the carving stations (rosemary crusted strip loin is MAGIC), to the late night taco snack....all of our guests were well fed and impressed! We didn't even need as much cake as we had brought because their dessert station was a huge hit. Beyond just the food (which would have warranted a 5 star review on its own), the banquet staff was phenomenal. Our banquet manager Michele took the time to go over the layout with me the day before the wedding, and gave me a rundown of our reception timeline. The bar staff made sure there were drinks on our table when we entered, stopped by our throughout dinner to make sure we had drinks filled, first choice of desserts, and cleared our plates to make room at our sweetheart table. The station attendants were funny and engaging with our guests, and seamlessly moved from cocktail hour, to dinner, to dancing, etc. The entire banquet staff also helped expedite our clean up, and were incredibly friendly even after working the event. I would highly recommend Kosch to anyone who wants an amazing reception with delicious food!
We had Kosch Catering for our wedding food and cake. We received so many compliments on how good the food was and how delicious the cake was! The cake turned out exactly how I had pictured it and the 2 different images I was trying to merge together into our wedding cake. Highly recommend their services!
Kosch did a wonderful job
catering our wedding. Many of Our guests commented on how delicious the food was. They provided excellent service, accomodated all our
modifications to the menu, always provided prompt follow up to all my questions. I'm so happy we chose Kosch. Their bar services was great also, bery friendly and professional bartenders.
Kosch owned the venue we used, Chateau on the River in Trenton. The food was absolutely delicious and there were a lot of options to choose from. We were able to have some incredible gluten free options for the people at our wedding with dietary restrictions. The set up was great, the food was fresh and hot, and people loved it!
Kosch catering was amazing! They were the caterer for our wedding at Indian Springs Metropark in August. From the very beginning, I was very pleased with them. Lana was very responsive and answered all of my questions throughout the entire process. On the day of our wedding, Michelle was my contact and she was incredible. She was there for any last minute questions or needs and readily available. There was one little detail that was overlooked and Michelle came to me immediately to make sure it was handled. The food was out of this world! Everyone raved about all of the food and the service. All around, I would recommend Kosch for any event you need catered.
- 5 days & no response, docking a star.
WARNING - If you hired Kosch for your wedding, you WILL have to babysit them on the day of.
The bathrooms weren't even CLEANED from the night before nor open at 3pm. How are you going to have a bridal tent for use, but no bathroom to use.....???
If you rent the bridal tent ($500) that is MEANT to be a lakeside lounge, make sure they do open the walls! And beware that it will likely be covered in grass from mowing - Dont let them tell you it was set up that day so you have to pay $500. They are trying that with us and I was there the day before to see it already up. Not to mention the grass and grass stains all over say otherwise.
EVEN THOUGH their own paper work states NOWHERE that it will remain closed on "hot" days (because it has a small crappy old personal AC unit is offered) they are refusing to refund this bridal tent that our party used for not even an hour, and that guests didn't use because it appeared to be closed to them.
NEVER was it communicated to me that they wanted to leave it closed. I was inside trying to greet guests and do what a bride does, that I didn't know it was never opened until later in the night. It's not my job to babysit the people I have hired. I would have immediately told them common sense with the large tent should apply with this one. The breeze from the lake will keep the area cool enough, rather than an enclosed area with a AC that takes 6hrs from the time it's turned on to even get close to temp - I KNOW, we have the EXACT SAME one in my office - 8hr day it still doesnt get to the temp, barely close, and my office is the same size as that tent.
Not to mention, we couldn't even get into the tent at the time we were told. We had to wait for 20 minutes to enter, in which it was hotter than hell because clearly they had just set up the inside with the AC - which kept cutting out and Kosch tries to explain it as it got to temp in the tent... no it didn't, it was set to 73 and inside was easily 85.
OH! Don't rent the AC for the large tent. It's $7000 - LOL
China upgrade - Not totally worth it. They place small glasses of water with no refil at the table. Multiple people told me they had to keep asking staff for water nonstop because there was no pitcher of additional water and staff was not coming around to refill. After dinner they remove them... luckily because multiple people complained there wasn't enough water, they kept them on the table until 9:30pm.
Tammie, our onsite manager was a mess. Late, running all over, kept getting snippy with my guests as they kept asking for more water. She kept saying "I had a wedding yesterday" -- ok, so? Plan accordingly then. That's why you have a management position.....
I have expressed these issues with Kosch, in which I get the normal we dont care response. My favorite was "you were not satisfied with your level of service" - I would have run that place like a king if I was in that position. My level of service is exceptional, my expectations of others is minimal, and they barely got that. What a snooty way to turn their incompetence onto the customer.
I wasn't even going to mention that they destroyed my cake... but since they want to charge me $500 for a LAKESIDE LOUNGE that was not converted and used for maybe 20min, I will now bring this to their attention.
This is in their hands now. Lets see the level of integrity they actually have.
Highly professional, great service & quality presentation, very helpful & flexible/accommodating, plus the food is amazing!!! Would definitely pick again for future events! Bonus- they help clear up centerpieces & decorations at the end of the night !!
We were married at Indian Springs Metropark on the morning of 7.15.18 & Kosch Catering was wonderful through every step, from planning to the wedding day. The V.P. of Communications, Lana Kosnik, was quick to respond, thoroughly answered all of my questions, & was a pleasure to work with. Our day of, Onsite Banquet Manager, Tamra Schepper, was very professional & ensured everything went smoothly. Several of our guests commented on how amazing the Lunch was & my husband & I agreed! FYI, the "Traverse City Chicken" is amazing. We would definitely recommend them to future couples.
I'm conflicted about writing this review because the staff at the event were wonderful and the office staff were pleasant as well. That being said despite their website advertisement, they were NOT able to accommodate my guests with food allergies. We also ran out of plates for dinner, and while I did have 7 or so people show up unexpectedly, they ran out of plates well before my 85 guests were served. They took so long in getting more plates that some people didnt get to eat dinner and one family with children had to leave prematurely to feed their young kids. It's pretty silly to have plenty of food out with no plates to serve it on.
Otherwise their pricing is fair, although it didn't matter for me as they are the exclusive caterer for my venue. The experience has given me cause to reconsider future events that I was planning at that venue, but if I can have my concerns addressed I'd likely be willing to give Kosch another shot.
I HIGHLY recommend Kosch for any wedding or event. I chose the Strolling Buffet package for my wedding, and all of my guests (myself included) were blown away. The hors douvres, the meal, the cake, the late night snacks, were all SO GOOD! Most people say as the bride you won't get a chance to eat on your wedding day, well with this delicious food I made SURE that was not the case! On top of it all, the customer service was just outstanding, especially when dealing with Lana the event specialist! Again, I highly recommend! :)
GREAT food and customer service!
Food was better then I even expected. Robert our manager really came through and made every detail important. Thank you so much...pierogi bar was amazing!
I had my wedding at Indian Springs Metropark last week and Kosch did an amazing job. I was worried about the food and if everyone would like our choices but everyone couldn't stop talking about how good everything was. Chicken florentine and vegan stuffed peppers were a big hit!
They were so helpful in all the planning and super accommodating. They even called us the week of to make sure that we wanted all of the red sauce we had picked out on our menu (one of the veggies has a sauce we didn't know about) and offered to change it to make our menu flow better. We changed it and are so glad we did because it was amazing! We got soooo many compliments on the food!!
The venue that we were married (Indian Springs Metropark) only uses Kosch as the contracted caterer, so we were both nervous and relieved when we booked our date at the venue. I'm sad that I ever worried in the first place, because this catering company was amazing. First of all, the woman that we did most of our correspondence with, Lana, was amazing. She always emailed back quickly, answered all of my weird and frantic questions, and changed our contract at least three times when I kept changing my mind about our menu. We went to both of the tastings (the regular and the BBQ) because we weren't sure which menu we were going to choose, which we highly recommend. This way, you get to try all of the food, and try more than just the few cake flavors that are offered at the BBQ tasting. We really enjoyed most of the food at the tasting, and ended up going with the parmesan whitefish, bistro beef, italian chicken breast, and the mashed potatoes. We got numerous comments on the food all night. There was so much of it, and it was hot and delicious. The staff catering our event were awesome, professional, and kind. Also, our cake was amazing. Shout out to Cass, he really took my ideas and made exactly what I was looking for for a very reasonable price. They used our cake topper and our flowers, and it looked like a cake straight out of pinterest, and tasted even better. I could not sing more praises for this company and their staff.
Let me start out my saying that I did not choose Kosch Catering. I wanted to have my wedding at Sunset Terrace in Stony Creek Metropark. Kosch has some kind of contract permitting them to be the only caterer for this venue. I was a little bit apprehensive about this.
With that being said, by and large, I am satisfied with Kosch. Kosch offers several packages ranging from rather basic to very elaborate. We went with the Platinum package, which is second from the top. We chose two entrees and got tons of sides to go with this. In this package we also got premium open bar (truly open, no bottle limit), a champagne toast, a cocktail hour of cheese, crackers, and fruits, and a late night snack of our choice (we went with soft pretzels).
During the tasting, I was not impressed with the quality of food served. But, again, that all changed on my wedding day. Part of me worries that was because I was literally starving (probably hadn't eaten a full meal all day) but all of my guests said they enjoyed the food and were really full by the end of the night. So, when you consider the task of having to prepare enough food for 125 people, I'd say the resulting quality was on par, if not a little above.
Lana was my point of contact for writing up my contract. She was very responsive to all my e-mails and phone calls. The day of , Robert was my go to guy. He checked in several times to see if I was happy with everything. He also went above and beyond to accommodate my husband's wish to set off confetti cannons. The bar staff were also very friendly.
Kosch will work hard to make your wedding day great.
We got married & had our reception at the Chateau on the River in Trenton, MI (a Kosch venue). The venue was absolutely beautiful, the team was awesome and friendly, and our coordinator, Lana, went above and beyond. She was amazing to work with and helped make our day so special. Everything was reasonably priced, and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend to any couple.
I got married at Indian Springs Metropark, and they require you to use Kosch Catering. At first, I was very nervous about this, but Kosch ended up being great. I also was a little concerned at first because their price per plate seemed high. However, after comparing them to other vendor/venue combinations, the value is better in my opinion because Kosch and the metropark provide EVERYTHING you need. I didn't have to spend time and money to find chairs, tables, linens, glassware, etc. They provided literally everything except decorations. Everyone raved about the food and drinks. I highly recommend the strolling dinner package. It was far and away the most food for your money. Lana was always very responsive and friendly, and Brittany, my event coordinator, was an impeccable professional, with a very sweet disposition. I'm very satisfied with my service from Kosch.
The venue I chose came with its own caterer which is Kosch. This made me nervous at first because wedding food is so important. It's one of the top things that people talk about at weddings. I booked blindly as they only have tastings once a year.
Once it finally came time for my tasting I was happily put at ease. The food was wonderful! They had lots of options including dietary restrictions. We were so happy the day of our wedding with the food. My groom had seconds!!!
Kosch was amazing to work with!! The food was delicious and the staff was extremely responsive. I didn't have a single concern going into my wedding day. The bar service was amazing!! We had the best bartender! The most important thing with Kosch is they have packages that are all in one at an affordable cost! Why work with several vendors when you can have food, linens, cake, beverages, ceremony set up, etc all together. What a relief! Thank you for services!
My venue only books with Kosch so I didn't have a choice, but the food was delicious! Lana was super accommodating and responded quickly to all of my emails. Cass too was very responsive. The wait staff at the reception were so nice and helpful. I really appreciated having to turn in the details 10 days before-made the week before the wedding run much smoother. I was also blown away when I found out at the reception that they had made a signature drink! They were really great to work with!
Kosch's staff the day of and leading up to the wedding were top-notch professionals who responded promptly to all calls and emails and could not have been more responsive to our needs. Lana and Brittany made us feel comfortable and taken care of during our months of planning and on the day of our wedding. Kosch's food offered at Stony Creek Metropark's Sunset Terrace, our venue, was phenomenal and we received so many compliments on our food: pulled pork, fresh cold salads, chicken on the bone, potato chips, and farm fresh vegetables--a unique, refreshing spread, perfect for our summertime wedding.
Kosch Catering did an amazing job for our wedding! The bartenders were so friendly and helpful. We were on a budget and they worked so well with us and had SO much food! I highly recommend Kosch for your event!! Thank you Kosch! :)
The setup crew for Kosch was wonderful. At first I thought everything went fine. After the wedding, I began to hear of problems at the reception. First, as drinks were running low, guests were telling the waitstaff they needed to be refilled, my sister specifically told a staff member, their response: "that's not my station". Mind you we only had water, lemonade and ice tea. The second problem was that the 3-tier wedding cake was never cut for the guests. The only piece that was cut was the piece the bride and groom fed to each other. We had extra sheet cakes as we know the wedding cake would not be enough. The sheet cakes or the only thing the waitstaff cut. Third, I was never given my left over food that I had paid for. And we had plenty as we paid for extra people and then people cancelled the day of the wedding-so I know there was food left. I was never asked if I wanted it, what to do with it or anything! I carried my phone with me the whole time-they had my #. Never once was I greeted by the staff and asked if everything was going fine (mother of the bride). Upon learning all of these things I wrote Lana an email. Her response-I will take it to the management team. I said that's it - she said "yes, sorry for your dissatisfaction". I waited a week - no response. I then called the office asked for someone from the management team. Spoke to Grant Kosch (on a Thursday) told him my complaints. He said he would get back with me before the weekend to resolve the matter. It has been almost two weeks and have not had a response. I called again this week - spoke with the reception and told her I wanted to rely a message to the management team. I told her my complaints and that I was very dissatisfied with the lack of customer service Kosch provided. She asked for my name and number. That was 3 days ago. Still have not received a call, email, no response whatsoever. They have lost my business and I will not recommend them to anyone.
Our wedding was at Indian Springs Metropark and at first, we were hesitant to be "locked" into a certain catering company. That feeling quickly changed after we sampled the food. While it was a bit challenging to have only 1 tasting per year (and we are out of state), the food for our event was excellent and the site manager made sure everything went smoothly! Everyone loved the Traverse City Chicken and the chef's choice cold salads were great!
We used Kosch Catering for our wedding a month ago at Lake St Clair Metropark. All of the food was delicious! The staff was easy to work with. Lana was really great in answering all questions and helping put together your menu and reception options. Mary Beth was the site manager and she was also very helpful! I would highly recommend!
DELISH!!! That is all I can say about the hog heaven BBQ that we had for our wedding. Everyone raved on how great the food was and LOVED the chicken wings. Staff was amazing with the guests and with the bride and groom. The bartender remembers what everyone was drinking which impressed my guests!! Lana was amazing to work with and everyone who was at the wedding was so nice. Thank you!
Their food was very tasty and they did a great job of keeping it warm. We had a barn wedding and they transported the already made food to the reception and set-up. It was delicious and I recommend using their services :)
The food was amazingly good on that day, and the staff was great! They were very understanding about moving the time up for me by an hour when I contacted them the day before the wedding. Th only trouble is there is only one taste testing a year, and if you miss it you have to pick food blindly.
I was very hesitant to use Kosch Catering after reading so many negative reviews. They were the contracted caterers for the park we really loved, so we decided to take a chance. Management was great about quickly answering questions. They allowed us to taste test a meal by picking up a carry out box the day of an actual event. They also offered one group taste testing where most all options were available, although it was very crowded with several hundreds of people.
Regarding our wedding day and looking back - On-site staff was incredible. We were allowed all the time we needed to set up. We worked with John, and he was so accommodating. We can't say enough about him! He was extremely personable and is truly an asset to the company. We received a lot of compliments on our food, and their presentation was great. Gluten meals, which we paid quite a bit extra for, were not served until quite late and were cold. They also do not let you box up any leftovers after the event (we were told it's a 'law'). Prices seemed fair, but I highly suggest you know your contract inside and out and ask any and all questions. We seemed to accumulate some hidden fees that we weren't aware of - ones that were pretty costly. Unfortunately, this left us pretty disappointed in Kosch. Hindsight is always 20/20, but overall, the day worked out.
Kosch was the required caterer for Indian Springs. They were overall good vaklue, especially because we used the "winter wedding Package". Was a bit annoying that they do 1 tasting a year, and did not include items that are on the WW package. The food was fairly good quality, but supposed to have premium beer, but didn't come out till the cheap kegs ran out. Little details like no cake serving set out, when taking buffet tables down, only 1 small girl was taking a table down, which cause a lot of noise & scared the guests. Staff wasn't able to answer questions regarding the food. Small details that would have made it great. It takes a lot for us to get upset, but some of those small details would have made it a great experience.
Kosch is good. Tammi was absolutely amazing. The food was so so good, everybody was impressed. Aside from one issue about bringing in pie instead of cake (which got resolved swiftly) everything with Kosch was seamless. They really paid attention to detail and made my wedding great.
The staff at Kosch was easy to work with and were able to accommodate all of our requests including vegan and gluten free options for some of our guests. The Chicken Marsala was amazing!
Used them for reception back home after destination wedding. They were great to work with and fit our budget. No complaints.
Our wedding was the most special day of my life, of course! Our wedding venue has a contract with this catering company so you can only have them, and they know it. The Catering "manager" (if that is what you want to call him) Cass, is horrible! He does not care about your special day, He mixed up our contract not just once at the office but twice! On our actual wedding day he did not update our contract when we upgraded the package. We still only had the basic bar package at our wedding. when we spoke to the head cater teresa, she had to make phone calls and run to find the liquor. This was once again, during our wedding. The food turned out to be good that the ONLY reason i gave them one star. Think twice about using this company.
When we began finalizing plans I started emailing Cass with questions, he was less then helpful with short responses. When we gave him the time for our ceremony/reception he responded saying we were wrong and should do it at a different time which was inappropriate when no suggested times were given. When we started planning our rehearsal/rehearsal dinner (which is traditionally done the day before the wedding) we were told that another couple may possibly be reserving that day. After some waiting, nothing had been finalized and so we began to pursue it further. This was crunch time and as we booked our event with them in July the year before we felt we should have been given first choice and better treatment, not the couple trying to book an event less than a month away. I was told we would have yet another coordinator for the event and was irritated that our event was being thrown to someone else again, I asked for this person’s contact information and was told that it wouldn’t be available until the week of the wedding. That’d throw any sane person into stress overload. After being denied we went to the office and received the information from a VERY helpful man, Grant, whose wonderful customer service truly saved this business transaction. After more silence, I contacted the onsite coordinator, John, who also told me that there was a possible event pending. At this point we took our problems to the CEO Gordie. We left him a very frustrated message explaining our aggravation with Cass’ poor customer service and our desperation at the impending deadline for the rehearsal (Final plans wer waiting on this). We never received a call back so went back to the office to try and resolve the issue. Cass was the only one in the building and we told him we needed the day reserved and suggested they tell the other couple that time was up as they had someone else waiting. We expressed again our frustrations and he got incredibly aggressive. He threatened us saying we had no right to call Gordie and complain, our opinions didn’t matter as they’ve been in service 31 years and one customer’s complaint wouldn’t affect them. He snidely asked why we picked them if we’re so displeased and we explained we were forced to use them since their contracted with Stony. He said ‘if you’re not happy, there’s the door’. There was no way we could cancel a couple weeks before our wedding and not drown trying to find other available vendors. So we stuck it out, went up to Stony and paid yet another $600 rental fee and fixed the issue ourselves with absolutely no help from Kosch. From this point they did give us the Bridal Lounge and fabric lining in the tent for free as an attempt at consolation but it was made clear it was only because they were using our event as a sales pitch. We have now found that they took pictures of our decorations and are using them for promotional causes on their website without our consent, they did not provide the decorations. Once we were able to work with John and Tom the week of the wedding, things went more smoothly and the event went great. The food was delicious and the service was good. It was hardly enough to make up for the offensive customer service experience but enough to ease us the day of. The stress this situation caused was unnecessary and their lack of appropriate solutions was not acceptable for an important event such as a wedding. We will never recommend this business to anyone and strictly advise against it!
The Food was amazing! The Chef, Cass, is really great at what he does! It is oviose that this is his passion and, I have people tell me all the time how wonderful the food was at my wedding! I also got my linins through Kosch and I am so glad I did! They made the reception looked so beautiful!
We used Kosch Catering for our wedding at Stony Creek Metropark. Kosch was great -- their price covered the buffet (2 entrees, veggie, starch, salad, bread, pasta), uniformed waitstaff, bartenders and bar mixers (we supplied the alcohol), tables, linens, etc. We had a lot of compliments on the food from our guests!! As far as the planning before the event and the actual wedding reception, the Kosch staff was wonderful!! They made this part of the wedding planning very easy, and the actual day went off perfectly. I highly recommend them.
The food from Kosch was very delicious...it definitely had that "home cooked" quality about it. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that the set-up was incredibly stressful. The person scheduled to set up the site the day before the wedding was hours late, which almost made me miss my rehearsal dinner.
Becareful if you choose this company. The food is great. The customer service you recieve before your event may not be, mine was terrible. The lady I dealt with only wanted to answer my questions if i was giving her money, even after i paid the deposit.
