We got engaged in December 2013 & decided we wanted our wedding to be in October the very next year, so we started planning the wedding immediately. Oh, forgot to mention, my (now)husband and I planned our Ohio wedding from Las Vegas, NV-terrif...ying! But honestly we stumbled upon Cheers Chalet during an online search and after one discussion with Carol I knew where we were having our wedding!
Although neither of us is from Lancaster -he's from Dayton & I'm from Youngstown- it was chosen due to "middle ground".
Honestly the venue pictures do not do it justice and although it is small, which is exactly what we wanted, it is the epitome of intimate in a way that is indescribable. They have their own in-house caterer, wait staff & bartender, which was crucial for us (the least moving pieces as possible)and I often referred to it as "all-inclusive" since they have almost everything we needed/wanted in-house. And the details that they do not provide, ie. cake, DJ, florist, etc., they offer suggestions of who you can use.
Carol answered all my questions-and I had a ton of questions-and made me instantly feel comfortable that they would take care of everything for me. Alison was patient, understanding, sincere, and kind at all times, providing me with constant reassurance and quick responses whenever necessary.
I flew to Ohio in April to meet the "Cheers Ladies" (and actually see the venue we booked off pictures alone) and instantly felt like "family". The amazing attention to every detail gave me the feeling that I could surrender all of my fears and worries. I knew after our first review of my vision for our wedding day that they were going to do everything they could to make our day special-and that turned out to be an understatement!!
Fast forward to Oct, my fiance,our two dogs, and I drove across the country for our whirlwind wedding in Ohio. We arrived on Friday and stopped by Cheers so Derek could finally see where we were getting married on Sunday. We were greeted with hugs and affection from both Carol and Alison...which melted all the concern he was feeling beforehand.
We also scheduled our rehearsal brunch at Cheers on Saturday morning so we got to see it decorated for someone else's wedding...beautiful to say the least, but nothing could prepare me for how perfect my own wedding day decor turned out!!! Our 'autumn vision' for our day was executed better than either of us could have imagined. The staff, especially Aubrey & Alison, took my ideas and our homemade fall-inspired DIY wedding decor and elevated it to the next level. We were both blown away by how perfectly each and every detail came together with only a verbal explanation as their guide. They took their time and truly put thought into what would make us happy, and it showed!
We chose to have a "Hog Roast" dinner, and I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone to do the same! DELICIOUS!!! I wish I would have had time to go back for seconds! Everyone raved about the Harvest Salad I selected and the appetizers were devoured as well!!
I don't know if my review can truly convey how perfect everything turned out but I hope that if you are debating between one venue and Cheers that you give these amazing people your business.
I had the wedding of my dreams & I couldn't imagine having spent such an important day with anyone else assisting us. Thank You Cheers!
