Chef Chai is an amazing venue for a wedding. The chef himself met with us and shared possible menu items with us beforehand. Then he worked with us to develop a menu that fit our tastes and budget. We had the whole restaurant for the night and they took care of everything. Our guests left feeling stuffed, impressed with the food and the service. We left feeling relieved!
Our reception was on 9/13/14 and we had the restaurant, Chef Chai, all to ourselves. Decor rentals, flowers, and wedding cake were delivered and set up on schedule with the assistance of manager, Anthony Murata, and Chai’s staff. By the time we arrived, every details were taken care of as expected.
The Prosecco reception with the 5 pass around appetizers was a hit: Chicken Satays, Ahi Tartar in Cones, Lobster Bisque Shooters, Duck Tacos and Vegetarian Spring Rolls. I don’t even remember them being served, but the guests seemed to enjoy them very much. :-)
First course was a choice of either a sampler of Alaskan King Crab Cake, Salmon Roulade, Ahi Katsu and mini Caprese Salad or a Poached Pear Salad. Both of them were beautifully presented on dinnerware. Guests were having a difficult time in taking their first bites. But, in no time, all plates were emptied.
Three entree choices were offered: a Grilled Beef Tenderloin with Mushroom Foie Gras Puff, a Miso Chilean Sea Bass and a Grilled Vegetables Terrine. All dishes were promptly delivered to the appropriate guests HOT, DELICIOUS and GORGEOUS LOOKING!!! I am particularly impressed with the temperature of the food with 78 entrees all delivered at the same time. Well done.
As for dessert, the wedding cake was served with fresh berries and a strawberry puree. A very nice touch to present each cake slices.
Throughout the evening, Prosecco with a little strawberry puree, Meritage white and red wine, assorted beers were served non-stop. Glasses were never empty.
The restaurant’s spinning partition doors were doubled as a screen for our video presentation. Set up was as easy as a breeze. The special event room was used as the dance floor after the wedding cake ceremony. Programs flowed from one location to another in the restaurant without any glitches. A blessing in any reception!
We had a marvelous celebration, and were so glad that we had hosted the event at Chef Chai. We wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Kudos to Chef Chai and his team!!!
We contacted Chef Chai and he returned our email right the way, and we really like that. We asked some of our friends who live in Hawaii and asked about his company and all were very positive. So we went to his restaurant and sample his cuisine and it was exactly what we're looking for Hawaiian-Asian fusion.
He promised that the food at the off-site event will be exactly like the restaurant which we're please to here.
We decided to go with five passed appetizers and three course dinner to follow and it was fantastic, food was beautiful presented nice and hot just like dining in the restaurant. Many of our guests said it was the best food they ever had. Services was also very good, very professional and well dress.
