We had our wedding here on 5/4. I must say we had an amazing wedding. However, but not without a few hiccups.
COMMUNICATION: The process started off easy with the initial contract and the communication was smooth. However, after the initial contract was signed communication became a little tough after we were transferred to another venue coordinator. The venue coordinator and I had spoke on several occasions. The day before the wedding, I went to look at the venue and the napkins were not folded correctly and they already had centerpieces on the table, even though I had previous discussed with them how I wanted the napkins and informed them that I would be making my own centerpieces. But I ended up using the centerpieces they had put up. Additionally, I was informed that the day of my wedding, there would be a totally different person I would be dealing with that I had never met before. Overall the décor came out great!
FOOD: I had spoke with the venue coordinator several times regarding the food selection that I wanted Southern Buffet (fried chicken and received bbq chicken), however when I received the final contact, it was not correct. Unfortunately, because I was so focused on the final payment, I missed that the food selection was wrong and did not realize it until the day of the wedding and I when it was mentioned I was met with “well you signed the contract”. So make sure you READ THE FINAL CONTRACT THOROUGHLY! Despite how many conversations you have with the venue. Overall we did not get too many complaints about the food.
BAR: If you have 75-100 or more guest request an additional bartender (if possible). We had about 130 guest with one bartender so the line for the bar was ridiculous.
DRESSING ROOM:I would advise getting dressed at the hotel and walking over to the venue if you can. The dressing room is super small and you get charged $10 to use body mirrors, but it’s not worth it.
LOCATION: The location of the venue was absolutely amazing! There are about 3 hotels within walking distance of the venue. We stayed at the Delta and it was nice! They have a great bar and the rooms are spacious.
From the moment we decided to have our wedding at the Conference Center, we received great customer service from our event planner/consultant. All of our needs were met and if there was anything we had no clue about, our planner helped us with visualizing what we wanted for our special day. Would definitely use them again for any other event!!
Wonderful place to have your wedding. Food was well seasoned. The only downfall is there aren't any place to take picturw, however you can take them at the Marriott. Great location 5 minutes from everything...Loved It
We had a wonderful experience at the Conference Center (which we used for our wedding reception). They were very professional but also personable. The food was delicious, and they worked with us very well. Linda, our coordinator was great and generally very helpful and prompt. She was a joy to work with and the venue, especially because of the varied room sizes and availability and locale relative to so many hotels & the airport was a great fit for us. They have standard things in line for wedding receptions, but were more than willing and able to let us do our own thing if we didn't want what they had.
I recently attended a wedding here and I never even knew this place existed! It was a very accommodating space. The couple had a ceremony and reception here and there was more than enough space. The reception was gorgeous and the food was great. I definitely recommend this location.
