Buyer Beware! Especially if you are looking to have your wedding during this COVID 19 uncertainty!
If anyone is having a wedding or planned to have one this year and you are like me and my fiance. This year is filled with a lot of uncertainty....
I've had to postpone my wedding to later this year, and there's even a chance I might have to do it later on again.
I originally hired Cloud 9 Limousine to be the transportation company for our wedding.
When we had decided it was time that we changed our date (originally to be May 30th), we called them up 2 months early and let them know.
To our surprise, (them being the last vendors we called to move dates and nobody else requiring this of us), they said that they would need another $300 deposit in order to reserve the new date. I understand that the money still would have been part of the total of the transportation cost, but that's besides the point.
I don't know whats going on right now, I don't know what's happening with our wedding, so why would I want to pay another deposit, for something I already have a deposit for, and that's also not stated in our contract.
So, I ask them if they can just not charge me that, obviously they had my original deposit still. That's what its there for. They said no, that's what we are doing. Required in order to change the date.
Not something I want to hear when I don't know whats going on 100% with my wedding. What happens if I can't have a wedding again on that date, what happens if I have to change plans completely and not have a large wedding where I need transportation. At the end of the day, asking for another $300 deposit for something you already have a deposit for seemed like a company trying to be as snaky as they can be.
I called up other transportation companies to ask their policies, none of them do that. I booked with another service instead.
I asked Cloud 9 for a refund, kindly. They refused stating that I cancelled with them, when realistically, I was forced out of a contract because I didn't want to pay them more money to hold a date they already had a deposit for.
Overall, I just want to say, if your on the fence and looking for a company you can absolutely trust during your wedding especially during this time, please steer far away from Cloud 9.
My Venue, DJ, Cake, Desserts, Floral, Church, Decorations... Every other company I contacted to move the date, had absolutely no problem doing so and did not try to charge me more money.
I am now seemingly out my initial deposit and even though I am, I can at least rest assured knowing that I can actually trust the transportation service I have booked with now, regardless of whats going on during all this Covid 19 stuff.
