Chocolate Cafe

I think they did a good job the day of the wedding! Leading up to the wedding was a little stressful I will say. When we first met with them and did the cake tasting we loved them. They had great customer service and were very friendly. About a month and a half before the wedding I reached out to go over the final details for the desserts and the cake. They were never super fast at responding but got back in a good time frame, however, this time was so slow. I sent about 2-3 emails and did not hear back for a week and a half. I am starting to stress that the bakery I hired is not going to have my cake done. They finally gave me a call and told me the baker who made the sample cakes we loved was no longer working with them. They were waiting to reach back out to me was they hired someone new. They wanted me to come back in for another tasting and try the flavors to see if we liked them still. We were able to come in 3 weeks for the wedding and the cakes were fine, nothing like the first round we had. We decided to stay with them since it has been hard looking for a gluten-free bakery to start with. On the day of the wedding, everything showed up and was nicely decorated. I did ask for a fall theme color (colorful fall) and most of the desserts looked like they were for spring. The macaroons and the strawberries were a big hit and everyone loved those!

Amazing cakes, really created my vision and worked with me to get it perfect. Delicious and will go back to again!

Chocolate Cafe has a special place in our hearts. We love to visit their original cafe as a day date / date night and couldn’t resist working with them for our wedding. The team is so easy to work with and was willing to bring our cake and dessert bar dreams to life. Thank you, Chocolate Cafe!!!

The people I talked to were always very pleasant- however I felt that communication was very lacking on their part. Every attempt at communication was initiated on my end. After I payed my deposit to lock down the date they made no attempt to provide me with information for weeks/ months until I reached out first nearly begging for a crumb of information. Unfortunately I had to give up on this vendor just 30 days out from my wedding day because they did not provide me with a quote or invoice for the services after having been in contact with them for months. All other vendors I worked with were able to provide me with these things within 25-48 hours of initial contact. I don’t think they’re a bad business- just really disappointed with the experience I had and dont think they had the capacity to handle events of this kind.
