We recently hired Chowgirls to cater our wedding and they did such an amazing job! We are both vegetarian and chose to have a vegetarian, family-style meal and the menu and selection exceeded our expectations. All of the staff the night of the wedding were incredible to work with and the whole night ran so, so smoothly and on time! The presentation also really sets Chowgirls apart. We also highly recommend doing the tasting! Not only was it helpful when making decisions, but also a fun and memorable part of our wedding planning. Special shout out to Mandy who was so kind, calm, and friendly every step of the way.
Look no further than Chowgirls for your next event. The food was amazing, staff was attentive and they were so easy to work with from beginning to end! I need another wedding just so I can have their appetizers, so good!
Amazing team - from start to finish we had a fantastic time working with everyone from the office manager to the servers on the day of our wedding. We got SO many compliments about the food. They make everything beautiful and delicious and most importantly, EASY.
We used them for our "rehearsal dinner" (60 people) and our post wedding brunch (50) and they were awesome. The food is delicious and they were great to work with.
Chowgirls was a dream to work with from beginning to end. We used them for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, and couldn’t have been happier. Our event manager was so great to work with—just so helpful. They were also so respectful of food accommodations, meaning we could make sure every guest felt included and considered.
Both events went wonderfully, and the food is really amazing.
Chowgirls catered our wedding and the food was a major highlight! We had a number of dietary restrictions and Chowgirls accommodated everything we asked for easily. Above all else the food was delicious!!! The staff were great to work with and we would highly recommend their catering services!
I have used Chowgirls for multiple of my clients events but I worked with them this past Friday for a client's wedding and Meghan their event manager was FANTASTIC! She was attentive and "on" during the entire duration of the event. The groom even had very severe dietary restrictions and she paid extra attention to make sure he was taken care of in a way that went above and beyond. Her and her team did a 12/10 job!!!!!
Chowgirls is truly the best of the best. They are incredibly detail-oriented and were a breeze to work with leading up to our wedding day. Their food is truly amazing! Our guests still rave about each dish months later. Working with Chowgirls was hands down one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding!
Delicious food and wonderful to work with! We originally planned to have our wedding at the Chowgirls space but ended up switching venues due to covid. Jenna worked with us every step of the way to make sure we could keep our original catering plans at our new venue and on our new date.
Their food is sensational and they have a great variety of options for different tastes and dietary needs. They were also super helpful in accommodating allergies and other restrictions. Compared to other catering companies we looked at, their menu options seemed much more interesting and unique - you won't get a boring, dry chicken breast from Chowgirls! Instead, you'll get delicious, seasonal, flavorful meals. Our guests raved about dinner!
Our guests raved about the food. Attention to detail is second to none. The cous cous changes lives.
I can't recommend Chowgirls enough!! Jenna was always quick to respond, patient with our many questions/ changes of plans due to the pandemic and had many wonderful ideas. The food is phenomenal- we had many guests say it was the best wedding food they've ever had. The service was great and so thoughtful- they saved appetizers and cocktails for us (bride and groom) since we didn't have much time to eat during our cocktail hour. It was a wonderful experience- I would recommend Chowgirls to anyone!
We did a small ceremony last fall and they catered that event as well. Seriously delicious food- lots of options, very easy to work with for dietary restrictions, etc. 5 stars for sure!!
Chowgirls was hands-down phenomenal. Whoever says people don't remember the food at a wedding haven't had Chowgirls do their catering! First off, Aurora was a pleasure to work with and was incredibly helpful as we navigated a postponement due to Covid. Our tasting enabled us to try our menu before the wedding, and the food and the service on the wedding day were incredible. We particularly appreciated the variety of menu items we were able to have - we had a poke bar, a mezze bar and a taco bar, which gave something for everyone to enjoy. We'll be looking for excuses to do another event with Chowgirls in the future!
Wonderful service and wonderful food. I had so many guests comment on how great everything tasted, and working with Jenna was such a breeze. Not to mention how much I love the mission of the business itself! Highly recommend.
Chowgirls was truly killer at our wedding!! Their food is just indescribable. I feel weird calling them our wedding caterer because they are absolutely not even close to being in the realm of other typical wedding food! All of our guests could not get over how delicious everything was. I could go on and on about the food, but I also want to mention how great their team was to work with leading up to our wedding. They were extremely responsive, thorough, and helpful. We worked mainly with Aurora, and she was just the best. We would choose Chowgirls again in a heartbeat!
Chowgirls has been a dream to work with since the very beginning!
Planning
My partner and I met at school in Minnesota and plan to have our ceremony there, despite living out of state now. We first reached out to Chowgirls for a June 2020 wedding in August 2019, and Aurora was assigned to our intake. She was incredibly helpful in talking through our budget and preferences and creating a tasting menu that would capture the flavors we were looking for despite doing a fall tasting for a summer wedding. We were comparing bids with a few other caterers, and Aurora never pressured us to decide by a certain date. Chowgirls' bid was higher than the other caterers we were consiering, but after the tasting knew we were willing to pay a little more to support a company that shared our values and also creates delicious, beautiful food. We're foodies and wanted to share that love of food with our guests, but were afraid we'd have to lower our expectations for catering an 80-person event. With Chowgirls, 90% of what we tried blew us away! Aurora talked through the few dishes we were less excited about and helped select alternatives that would be better for us. Since we were tasting out of season, she also offered to have us come back closer to the wedding and try out a few additional dishes to make sure they were right.
After we signed the contract, Aurora was still always there to answer questions--no ghosting at all. I feel completely confident in Chowgirls as our caterer, and my partner and I are thrilled to show off Twin Cities hospitality and creativity--and Minnesota's bountiful produce--through them, to both local and out-of-town guests.
COVID-19
As COVID numbers began ticking up, my partner and I grew increasingly nervous about our June wedding. I reached out to Aurora in mid-March with our concerns, and even so early into the impact of COVID, Chowgirls had a plan and offered a generous policy for transferring our date without penalty. We took a few weeks to decide, and moved forward in early April with a request to postpone to June 2021. By May, things weren't looking up, and we asked to postpone to June 2022 to be safe. Aurora helped us through all of this with such kindness, and I felt even more confident in our original choice to go with Chowgirls. Additionally, Chowgirls is doing great work with Second Harvest Heartland, which is a meaningful demonstration of their commitment to the Twin Cities community.
Right before our original June 2020, wedding date, Aurora sent us a very sweet note alongside the Chowgirls recipe book, with some of our wedding dishes bookmarked. It made a disappointing time so much easier, and it's that attention to detail that you can expect from her and this stellar team.
While our Minnesota wedding is still a long way off, my partner and I are more excited than ever to be working with Chowgirls. I'll report back after the event!
Literally a dream to work with during Covid! So many places had so many restrictions but Chow Girls made it so easy for us and contactless delivery was flawless. Wouldn’t change a thing. Everything they offer from their limited menu was delicious, can’t go wrong.
We had decided to go with Chowgirls due to great reviews of it being the best wedding caterer in the twin cities area. Unfortunately, COVID came and we decided that we would need to downsize our wedding to make it as safe as possible, and had a 30 guest wedding on August 16th 2020. We reached out to Chowgirls to see if it was possible, and only then did we find out that Chowgirls decided that they were no longer catering but would offer drop off food services. I was appalled at the lack of communication, as we heard nothing about these changes and only found out when we asked. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt as COVID was hard on everyone, and asked them to come up with a new proposal given the circumstances. They gave us a proposal that seemed to be generic, as it did not take into the consideration of the foods we had wanted when we met with them for the tasting. When we asked why that is the case, they then showed us an updated menu saying that some of the food items were no longer available. I would have appreciated more if they told us which food items were unavailable and have us choose a substitute rather than giving us a generic proposal with no explanation until we asked about it. They also told us that they are no longer renting out their chinaware for the ceremony and would use fancy disposable ones. Fortunately, I did not trust them at all by that point and asked them for a picture. They were the ugliest plates I had seen, so I was able to tell them that we’ll take care of the plate settings on our end. The whole experience with Chowgirls felt like it was filled with endless traps that you have to find and jump through. We had to be the ones to recognize the problem before they would “try” to fix it. The last straw was that they didn’t even serve us the main dish that we wanted. We asked for the sugar brined chicken that we had at the tasting (which cost $100 per person), which had included boned in chicken drumsticks etc. At the wedding, we got a sad piece of chicken breast. When I asked what happened, they said they forgot that we wanted the boned in version. COVID had made weddings hard enough to plan safely. Fortunately, we were able to have a beautiful wedding with our loved ones in Minnesota. However, Chowgirls caused almost all of my problems, and was the only part of the wedding I wish I could do over. The only nice thing I can say about them was that their seasonal special cake tasted good.... I would recommend future bride and grooms look elsewhere for wedding caterers. I would give them negative stars for service if I can.
Chowgirls catered a backyard wedding for us and I highly recommend them for your catering needs. Jenna was awesome to work with. She made sure all our needs were met and gave excellent options as we tried to balance COVID safety with our wedding vision. Jenna worked with the company we had serve the meal to ensure everything was as we wanted. On top of the great service, the food was amazing and plentiful!
I can't say enough positive things about Chowgirls catering! We recently had our wedding at Solar Arts and had our catering through Chowgirls - best decision ever!
Firstly, the food was all amazing - we had passed appetizers, a plated dinner, and an assortment of pies for dessert and it was ALL perfection! After our tasting we were so excited for our guests to taste the delicious food on the day-of and have received numerous compliments! Their seasonal menus have such a wide variety so it is likely impossible to make a bad decision which also makes it easy!
One of the other first things we loved about Chowgirls (other than the food itself!) was their use of local ingredients and achievements in sustainability and the elimination of food waste. It is important to us to work with companies that are not only amazing with their product/service but that they are also going above that to make impacts in their community.
Lastly, we got to work with Jenna Anderson throughout the process. She helped us with both our venue coordination (Solar Arts) and the catering. I can't possibly say enough good things about her and we are so lucky that we got to work with her on our special day!
Chowgirls was absolutely amazing! We had a perfect experience from planning stages all the way to the dinner. Aurora - she was so helpful as we planned our menu and dinner, we cannot thank her enough for all of her great work. Keegan was fantastic in making sure everything was perfect the day. The food received rave reviews from out guests and was truly amazing. If you have any type of event this is your go to! Thank you Chowgirls!
Chowgirls was the absolute best to work with on our big day!! About 3 weeks out from our wedding, we learned that the caterer we originally chose at the beginning of our wedding planning fell through and had reached out to Chowgirls in hopes of desperation that they would even have an opening available to work with us. Luckily, they had a last minute cancellation and we were able to get in to do a tasting the following week. I cannot thank Aurora and Chowgirls enough for the peace of mind they brought us. From the very beginning it was so easy to work and communicate with them. All of our last minute requests were met and even exceeded our expectations. Our guests RAVED about how delicious our food was and most said it was the best they had ever had at a wedding. Their presentation was top notch and all of our other vendors commented on how great of a team they had been able to work with on our big day. I would recommend Chowgirls over and over again. They are everything you want in a wedding caterer and then some. Thank you Chowgirls for helping to make our day so memorable!! Cheers!
We used Chow Girls for a party in our house after our destination wedding. The team helped me select the best dishes for our 85 guests. On the day of the event, the team arrived on time and did a fantastic job setting up an amazing assortment of seasonal fare. Our guests RAVED about the food and we were thrilled with our choices. I highly recommend Chow Girls for your special event.
We loved working with chowgirls!! Greg was our contact person and he was incredibly responsive and attentive to detail. He arrived exactly on time and set up everything to look perfect. We really appreciated that he took time to explain each of the meal options to us in depth, and even asked us when it would be best for him to return to pick up the food. He was really friendly and definitely lowered my stress level that day! The food got rave reviews from our family and friends, too! Everything from the salads, to our entrees (bratwurst and lasagna), and side dishes were delicious and more than we could’ve asked for. It was prepared well and was easy for our guests to serve themselves. We also found the price point to be very reasonable and would definitely hire chowgirls for any future events!
Amazing food and service for our wedding! Can't recommend Chow Girls enough!
I can't imagine how difficult it is to pull off a plated, catered meal to a large group of people, but Chowgirls does it FLAWLESSLY. The food was fantastic and the service was nothing short of stellar. They were a pleasure to work with both on the big day, but also throughout all of the contact leading up to it. Thank you for doing amazing work (and creating AMAZING food)!!
After our tasting at Chow Girls we were SOLD! Their food is absolutely fantastic and our contact Aurora was such a joy to work with! We can't say enough about how well she communicated with us throughout the entire wedding planning process. During our wedding the service was fast and it was amazing how quickly they were getting dinner out. I couldn't be happier with how everything went. Not to mention multiple staff members checked in with me throughout the night to make sure everything was perfect for us. Can't recommend them highly enough!
Food was delicious and staff was wonderful! My wife is a vegetarian and wasn't thrilled with their vegetarian entree options, so they worked with us to come up with a different option that was a huge hit. Thanks, Chowgirls!
we were so impressed by chowgirls. not only is their food absolutely delicious, but their customer service is impeccable. from our first tasting to our wedding day small bites and dinner meals, each bite was amazing. so many guests commented on how much they enjoyed their meals and the staff that waited on their table. my husband and i were blown away by the incredible servers who were friendly, professional and so attentive and timely. whenever we needed something, they were there and ready to help! and so many servers made time to give us a quick congratulations, which was so sweet! all of the planning process was very smooth, leah was incredibly communicative and responsive to all of our questions and changes. overall, a wonderful experience with amazing food and people!
Chowgirls was our caterer at Silverwood Park in St. Anthony on 10/20/2018. It could not have gone better. The onsite coordinator, Annie, was exceptional and remained calm & helpful all evening. The entire staff was courteous and professional, and most importantly the food was fantastic. Still hearing comments from friends & family on how tasty the roasted vegetables and bone-in chicken was, along with the various other items. Extremely pleased we decided to go with Chowgirls!
We love Chowgirls!!! The food is delicious and the team is awesome. Having good food at our wedding was a top priority for us, and Chowgirls definitely delivered! We were drawn to their emphasis on local, fresh, and seasonal fare and we were so happy with the results. We worked with Leah and she was super responsive, helpful, and fun to work with. She provided great suggestions, accommodated all our requests, and the whole day came together spectacularly. We hope we have an excuse to work with them again soon!
Chowgirls was absolutely fantastic! From the very beginning, they were responsive, friendly, and super willing to work with us and within our budget. The food was absolutely fantastic -- my cousin came up to me during dinner and told me she'd been to over 20 weddings and this was by far the best food she'd ever had. The day-of staff were amazingly kind, professional, and helpful -- they even packed us some dessert before it all disappeared because they could see that we were too busy chatting with guests to have any. Chowgirls is awesome and they a really big part of what made our day special! Also, I recommend you go with the cupcakes -- they were some of the best I've ever had! Also also, ours was an LGBTQ wedding, so I can confirm that they were very accepting!
BEST CATERING HANDS DOWN. Where to begin - we would give Chowgirls 10 stars if we could! They were amazing from start to finish. We had a tight budget and a short notice wedding; although Chowgirls was initially out of our price range, they really worked with us to make it as affordable as possible. We specifically worked one-on -one with Meghan, who was just the most personable, genuine, professional and on the ball point person for our catering needs leading up to the wedding. We went for a tasting - it was really hard to choose which dishes we wanted, because all of them were delicious (not to mention locally sourced)! There was something on the menu for all of our guests, dietary restrictions included. Our final menu choice was sliders, roasted potatoes, simple salad, fruit and polenta. Our guests raved about the food.
Day of the wedding, our catering coordinator Rachel was just so kind, warm, friendly and attentive to our needs. The staff had a smile on their faces the whole time, kept the place tidy by promptly removing dishes of guests that were done, filling up water glasses before they emptied, keeping food supply filled and warmed, and all the other things you could ask for in a catering service. The bartender was also very kind and knew his stuff. They even packed up the food in neat boxes, labeled them and even signed each box with "love, Chowgirls" - it's the little details that make all the difference!
They felt like family during this process (yet also very professional); just the way the spoke to us, checked in with us and were sensitive to our situation made us feel so comfortable. We love Chowgirls and would recommend them to everyone!
Working with Chowgirls was a pleasure. We had a multiple-venue wedding (service one place, reception another) with appetizer service at both venues. Arrangements were smooth and they worked to modify the menu to stay within our budget. Delivery and set-up went flawlessly. The food was great and the estimates for the size of the event were nearly perfect. I was particularly pleased that my vegan and vegetarian friends not only had options, but the options were so tasty that non-veg guests enjoyed them as well.
Chowgirls out did themselves from step the tasting to the final clean up. The food and the staff were delicious and were served elegantly and professionally. Rachel, the day of manager was exceptional. She went about her role as if she were to make every guest feel as if they were enjoying their own personal feast, and she succeeded. Since the wedding we have received compliment after compliment on the food and the beverages (also provided by Chowgirls). I would encourage and recommend for anyone wanting to host a first class event to use Chowgirls. You definitely get what you pay for!
WOW!! Of all the amazing vendors at my wedding, Chow Girls was my favorite! The food was absolutely delicious. They service was beyond phenomenal. There were a couple glitches that came up throughout the night (as things come up at weddings) and Chow Girls handled them without skipping a beat and made sure everything went very smooth. They are just top notch! I would absolutely book them again. Their quality is worth the cost!
We had a great experience with Chowgirls. We asked them to make a special menu of Cameroonian food and they were willing and did a great job. We got so many compliments on the food, and their service was excellent. Also, it's a female-owned company, so really, what's not to love?
We love Chowgirls! The staff is incredible - helpful, accommodating and genuinely kind. We used them for our bar service at our reception and couldn't have been happier. Would recommend them time and time again, and hope to have another excuse to hire them in the future. Thank you!!!
Amazing! Chowgirls made planning our wedding reception meal a breeze and were professional the whole way through. I didn't have to worry about anything on my special night and got rave reviews from everyone about the food. Love how seasonal and local their menu options were. I would highly recommend!
delicious vegetarian food!
We had our wedding at Solar Arts and Chowgirls is the exclusive caterer. It was really important to my husband and I that we have great food at our wedding. From our first meeting, it was clear that this not your average caterer. They were happy to accommodate multiple food allergies and preferences will still giving us TONS of great creative options. Their estimates are detailed and super organized so you know exactly what you are getting. The tasting was really fun and helped me feel comfortable that they were going to deliver on our wedding day. Let me tell you - they did!! All the food was amazing and our guests are still talking about it! We had a family-style dinner with some plated options for various people, and they had no issue accommodating it. They even prepared dairy-free appetizers especially for my husband and I and made sure we got some at the cocktail hour. The staff was all very professional and knowledgable, as well as kind! We loved working with Chowgirls and I am already hoping I can find another event to have them cater in the future. Thank you Daria, Megan & the Chowgirls team for being so amazing and making our wedding the perfect "dinner party" I had hoped for!! :)
Chowgirls catered my wedding on 10/15/17, and I cannot say enough good things about our entire experience with the Chowgirls crew. We are big foodies and delicious, plentiful food was a top priority for our wedding. Aurora went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and was one of our most trusted vendors throughout the entire planning process. We had some very specific requests, ranging from Russian herring to Chicago-style hot dogs, and Aurora helped us make everything a realty. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the staff at our wedding was so wonderful and the service was seamless. We could feel the love and excitement from Chowgirls and Aurora from day one, and it translated to all aspects of our relationship with them. Nothing but exceptional customer service and attention to detail - our wedding would not have been the same without them. We will absolutely keep Chowgirls in mind for future events.
Chowgirls at our wedding was amazing! The servers were so friendly and they made sure that my husband and I got to try all the appetizers and were very helpful throughout the evening. Our site manager, Dayna was wonderful! Everything was on time, and she made sure that our wedding was the best ever. We also used their bartenders, and we are so glad we did! The bartenders were funny, quick, and made excellent drinks. And the food was delicious all night! Everything was hot, well seasoned and the portions were excellent. We were told multiple time that this was the best wedding food ever!
I will say that while the planning process was very thorough I will have to echo other reviewers and say be sure to go over your contract carefully. There were a few numbers that had to be corrected, and some rentals we didn't ask for but were included in the contract. However they were very responsive to all questions and at the end of the day everything was perfect!
Fantastic food, difficult to get everything sorted in the months leading up to the wedding. Pro tip: Ask your questions via email, so you can circle-back to their response a few months later if something has gone amiss.
(+) Let's start with the positive -
1. Their food is really, really great. In our buffet we had: the green goddess salad, company potatoes, collard greens, roasted vegetables, brown-sugar brined chicken (both bone-in and breast) and steak sirloin. Our guests (some of whom are quite picky, and some that were comparing it to swarays they've attended in Beverly Hills) loved the food. It was delicious!!
2. The servers and bartenders were really friendly, but not over-doing it (basically, they were awesome at their jobs).
3. We didn't expect them to make so much effort with the appetizer platters the servers carried around the cocktail hour - they were beautiful! Each one was copper (I think) and had a single flower on it. Amazing!!
(+/-) Some things that didn't go so well, but weren't the end of the world -
(1) The steak at the tasting was cold, so it was hard to evaluate it. I think it was warm on the day-of, so that's a plus.
(2) They switched ice cream vendors between our contract and our event, so we ended up having a lot of confusion about if Izzy's (local MN ice cream maker) would be our ice cream, or Ben & Jerrys (not what we were going for). Since we had a copy of the proposal with Izzy's on it, they honored that, so turned out to be fine.
(3) Last, we asked about bread and butter being on the tables back in November. We're glad we asked and got a response in email, because when it wasn't in a proposal close to the wedding date we forwarded the email from Chowgirls confirming that their buffet service comes with bread & butter at no additional charge, and that got put back into the contract.
(-) The most annoying things were:
(1) We found price errors in nearly every revision of their proposal. For this one, if you're willing to review each proposal with a fine-tooth comb (our wedding planner found some too), they'll edit it to make it right - just know you're going to need to put in the time to look it all over carefully each time. (I think we had over 20 revisions in the 9 months of planning we did with them leading up to the wedding.)
(2) The flavors you taste at the tasting may not be available on your date. I'll admit this one made me livid - we were not told until after our tasting. We were given 3 flavors of cake to try at our tasting in December for our wedding cake and we loved, loved, loved the Blood Orange. When we gave our feedback on the flavors we were told that since our wedding was in September, that flavor may not be available. Not a definite one way or the other, and not what we expected. Chowgirls' response was that they serve what's in-season, but I was really blown away that they would give us food at the tasting that wouldn't be available for our wedding. It took a lot of prodding and convincing (many thanks to our wedding planner!) but we did end up getting a blood orange wedding cake. So...stick to your guns?
I am so happy we went with Chowgirls Killer Catering. The food was amazing and our guests are still raving about it. They use all locally sourced and organic ingredients which was important to us. The staff was amazing from start to finish and put up with ALL my numerous questions, changes and requests. Leah and Annie were the best!
Absolutely the best! It was a breeze working with Daria to make all the arrangements and the food was incredible! We had so many guests rave about the food and many said it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. The servers were also excellent. I can't possibly recommend Chowgirls highly enough. If I had to do it again I'd choose them in a heartbeat.
Working with Chowgirls for our wedding at Aria was an absolute dream. From our very first planning meeting with the AMAZING Leah, we felt confident and secure in their team's expertise, passion and love for what they do. Leah is extremely responsive, organized and so much fun to work with. She helped us pick out a wonderful menu of options for our guests and went above and beyond helping out with some last-minute changes. We received rave reviews from our guests all night. Would highly recommend Chowgirls for any event, large or small!
Chowgirls was amazing to work with every single step of the way! From the menu proposals, to the tasting, to the actual food served at the wedding, everything was simply great! We received nothing but a steady stream of compliments about how excellent the food was and how beautifully plated everything was as well. I am still hearing about it nearly two months later. :) During the planning process, I must have asked 50 questions or more about everything from the different vegetable sides to the linen options to the manner in which the bread would be served. (Definitely get the bread, the butter is phenomenal!) Each and every time I was met with a positive, thoughtful, quick response and an understanding team. The plated service the night of the wedding went off extremely well and the food was exactly as it had been at the tasting, which was great given the size of the wedding, the three different menu options, and our expectations and hopes. It was simply amazing and I cannot give them a high enough recommendation. My husband is a chef so the food was very important to him and he was beyond pleased. Chowgirls is simply phenomenal!
Great food and great service!!! They have a lot of food option choices, great organic local food, and great customer service. The prices are reasonable for a wedding and they go out of their way to make sure your wedding is everything you want it to be. It was nice working one-on-one with a smaller catering company because you felt like they cared about you and wanted to make your day special (vs. being treated like just a number with bigger catering companies). Would highly recommend!!!
I'm not usually one to write reviews but Chowgirls wowed me so much that I'm compelled to sing their praises. Chowgirls knocked it out of the park for our October wedding in Minneapolis at the Machine Shop. On the wedding day, our table settings were BEAUTIFUL (they have amazing stylists) and the food was INCREDIBLE! Many people since the wedding have told me that it's the best wedding food they've ever had. Even with my bride jitters, I cleaned my plate. We opted for family style - a lovely custom fall salad, sugar-brined chicken, seasonal fall veggies with aiolis, and mashed potatoes. For such a simple menu, Chowgirls made it special both with their cooking and presentation. Beyond the day itself, Chowgirls provided amazing customer service and made us feel special. If food is important to you on your day, go with Chowgirls. They will go above and beyond to cater to your specific needs and vision. Through the whole wedding planning stress, I never had to worry about the food because I knew that Chowgirls was taking care of us. Thank you Chowgirls for helping make our day perfect!
Chowgirls catered our wedding at Theodore Wirth Chalet this October (2016). Meghan was our contact and if this review was only about her it would be 6/5 stars. Her attention to detail and speed of response was amazing. There was a slight mix up at the venue (tables were set up incorrectly) but the issue was very quickly addressed and corrected.
We had kale ceaser salad, Mac and cheese, Brats and mini burgers.
The Mac and cheese is STILL being talked about!!! It was amazing. As was the Kale ceaser. The burgers weren't the BEST but everything else was wonderful!
We want to thank Chowgirls for a beautiful backyard wedding reception. Everything was better than we could have imagined. The staff was helpful, professional and charming. Their attention to our older guests was very sweet. Meg calmed me down during the worst weather possible and when the sun came out just in time, everything was ready as planned. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Thanks again for your help, patience and reassurance. We will definitely use Chowgirls for our next event.
Chowgirls was amazing! Jenna, Leah and Eleni were so wonderful and fun to work with for our August wedding party! Solar Arts building is a perfect space that fit all of our needs. We are still getting rave reviews about the amazing food!
I must rave about Chowgirls and the quality of food and service they provided for my daughter's wedding. Weeks later, I am still hearing compliments on the food, including this text from a guest "And how could a dinner for 230 come out steaming hot and be so flavorful and delicious?". The attention to detail was unparalleled. The day of the wedding, which could have been fraught with anxiety, Chowgirls staff were calm, professional, supportive and enthusiastic. You all made our family's happiest day even more special with your excellence. Thank you for everything!!
So so so yummy! We had them cater our 10/21 wedding at the Solar Arts building. We continued to get amazing reviews about the food and service throughout the night and days after! We had many dietary restrictions (vegan, veg, dairy free, gluten free..) and they accommodated it all! They even made my Husband and I a gluten and Dairy free cake, that isnt dry.. almost unheard of! The staff was pleasant, attentive, and joyful.
From the moment we met Meghan at our first tasting we were sold on Chowgirls! She took all our likes and dislikes into consideration when it came to our big day. The food and staff were so wonderful the day of our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. My husband and I just recently celebrated our 1-year anniversary and people are still raving about the food (especially the mini-grilled cheese sandwiches that sat upon a mini tomato soup shooter)! I will and have recommended you to friends and family!
I can't rave enough about Chowgirls- they were so fun to work with and made wedding planning actuallynfun! Stress free and drama free for sure!! The food is delicious. The dessert is to die for! Highly recommend them. They made my wedding day one for the books!
Was very impressed with their high quality service initially. However, once we signed up they completely dropped the ball on our wedding. They told us a week before our wedding date that they would not be able to make our main dish (pizza). They offered no viable alternative and no discounts. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY; THEY WILL RUIN YOUR WEDDING!!!!!
Chowgirls did an amazing job with our food. Our guests were raving about how good it was, and we couldn't be happier! We served our food buffet style, which worked out great. The food was hot and it allowed hungry guests to go back for seconds. Everything was seasonal and local, which we try to work into our everyday meals, so we appreciated this option on a large scale for our wedding. We served mac and cheese as a side, and it was such a hit. The fruit water was so refreshing and was all I drank all night, I was so dehydrated from being the center of attention! Great service and friendly staff. Was a great experience!
AMAZING FOOD. AMAZING SERVICE. Highly recommend!
Can't say enough good things about ChowGirls. Their staff helps out with more than just the catering: meeting with the reception location, working through day-of logistics, scheduling walk throughs. We will never cater with anyone other than ChowGirls.
