You feel taken care of and whether you’re the Groom or great aunt, come Wedding day, the space you're in has somehow morphed into an experience that elicits reactions from all 5 senses, one in which all of the details perfectly personifies our wedding couple. We do not produce cookie-cutter events. We produce events which exude personalization, excitement, creativity, and care. And have built a business based on the core principle that every event should be a direct reflection of our client(s). What matters most to them. What they want to feel and what they want their guests to feel during their event. And how they and their guests will feel about their event for years to come afterwards. I believe being a wedding planner makes me a better designer, and vice versa. The merging of such a personal business combined with my expertise within event design and flowers, is what makes CJDE unique. And after a career in Advertising, having loved the meticulous process of project management, I have built a planning business using the same principles. Today, CJDE has produced over 200 weddings over the course of the last 10 years. We believe in quality over quantity and am beyond proud of the client relationships we have built into long-lasting friendships. Every day I feel like I'm living a dream, working with clients I adore and respect with a team I proudly call family. Having mastered timelines and budget management on a large scale, event planning was a natural career move from my former position in advertising. Coupled with my floral expertise I want to present my clients with this unique holistic approach to planning & event design. It's this one-stop-shop mentality that puts my clients at ease, and challenges me to do and be more with each and every event. Down to my core, I love what I do. I love my team and my clients.

One example that really stood out to me: on the night of the wedding, my daughter’s dress ripped, and Christine and Jen immediately stepped in with a sewing kit and fixed it on the spot. It was handled quickly and without any stress, which is exactly what you hope for in a wedding planning team. The wedding itself was beautifully done, and it was clear how much thought went into the design and execution. Christine and the CJDE team handled every part of our wedding planning: from helping us pick a venue, to coordinating our rehearsal dinner, to organizing our welcome party, to doing all the day-of coordination, to overseeing our brunch the next day. And, for each event, they gave us a full-service experience. CJDE’s planning and design services are interwoven, which means the team not only handled all of our wedding logistics, but they also designed our stationary, our florals, our lighting, and our decor- meaning our wedding events were completely personalized and cohesive the whole way through. And the team was always available to answer any question we had or to manage any task (e.g. laboriously unwrapping 200 pairs of slippers or ordering chocolates gift boxes from our favorite spot in the city.). It’s clear that Christine takes a quality-over-quantity approach to her work. She only takes on a small number of weddings each year, and you can really feel the difference in the level of care, attention, and time she dedicates to each couple. On the wedding weekend itself, the level of coordination was amazing. Christine had a full team on site and throughout the venue, making sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. Because of that, we didn’t have to lift a finger, and we were confident that everything would be executed perfectly without us having to stress. From a design perspective, the wedding was even more beautiful than we could’ve imagined. In the areas where we had a clear vision in mind, they not only executed what we were imagining perfectly, but took things one step further to help make the design even better than what we had originally planned. And, when we were unsure of what we wanted, they worked with us on multiple iterations of ideas until we found something we loved. We couldn’t recommend Christine and the CJDE team more highly. Working with them was the best decision we could have made when it came to our wedding planning.

I’m very picky as all us brides are and care about all the details and design. Our wedding was an absolute dream and wish I could do everything all over again cause it was such an amazing experience planning with CJE and the wedding itself was perfection! The team did such a great job of staying organized which is super important to me. Communication was always easy and fast with the team and my planner. Every single person I worked with on the team and all my vendors that I picked with the help of the team were incredible and would pick them all again! I cared a lot about the design of my wedding and was anxious about this cause I would like to call myself a design queen but Gior, Sami, and the entire design team with CJE did such an amazing job and made my exact vision for my wedding come to life. I could go on and on about how impressed and happy I was with working with CJDE and they really exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for wedding planners, I HIGHLY recommend using CJDE. Everyone says their wedding is the happiest day of their lives, but I've always believed (and still do) that most people are lying when they say this, because weddings are pure stress. However, from working with CJDE I can honestly say that they made our wedding the best day of our lives. Everything was perfect and throughout the entire day there was not a single thing that me or my wife had to worry about. The thing that was best about CJDE is that they perfectly struck the balance between listening to us and guiding us and taking independent action for us. This was our first time getting married, and thus while we had ideas of what we wanted, we had no idea how to translate them into action. Jen listened to our thoughts and just somehow made them happen. At the same time, she didn't just do what we told her to do, she wasn't just a worker bee that listen to what we said and acted based on our instructions, but instead was a partner in the planning helping to advise us on what was and was not possible. After months of talking with her she knew what we wanted and was able to make suggestions and take action on our behalf thouhout the process. I guarantee that without her and the rest of CJDE, we would not of had as good of a wedding as we did. We lack the ability to come up with ideas and plan like they do. When we were planning our wedding, we didn't want just an employee who will do whatever we tell them, we needed an expert who could guide us, advise us, and be a partner to create a dream wedding. That is exactly what we received. There is a reason you hire experts to do things like this, and CJDE are the best experts in town. I highly recommend them.

Christine introduced us to Kristen O'Brien on her team, and I can honestly say that a large part of why our day was PERFECT was because of Kristen. Kristen is incredibly organized, and what stood out to me most was her ability to remember every detail we’d discussed throughout the process. She kept us on schedule, ensured all of our vendors were coordinated, and handled any minor adjustments between our venue and caterer with ease. hristine and Katy is that they TRULY CARED about the wedding as much as we did. If you want your wedding to be really special , meaningful, personal and beautiful, then you should definitely look to hire Christine and her team. They know ALL the best Chicago vendors and will do all the communicating, contract negotiating, etc. We relied on them to recommend/hire bakery for our cake, photographer, videographer, transportation, hotel room block, beauty teams, invitation designer, linen rental, lighting, etc etc. They will organize your whole budget, timeline, check-lists for each month, week and day leading up to the wedding.Truly they know how to do EVERYTHING and we felt so relaxed during the whole planning process because we knew they were handling the hardest parts for us. Not only are they professional, they are kind and FUN to work with...always cheerful and supportive no matter how many questions and emails we sent them! The design part of the process can be very overwhelming especially because we wanted a lot of unique details. They were with us every step of the way, reviewing our Pinterest boards, asking questions, setting up a floral and design preview, etc. The florals were the most gorgeous we have ever seen and we are so happy we hired CJDE to do both our planning AND our Floral/design because everything was seamless with Christine and team overseeing the whole process. Hiring CJDE for both planning and florals was hands down the easiest and best decision we made for our wedding. From the get, my husband and I had a clear vision of what we wanted ...

for our day, but struggled to find time to plan all of the intricate details that were needed. This was especially difficult for our venue which was a very large space that required booking vendors with experience in order to properly execute. Christine’s team brought our vision to life, and went above and beyond our expectations for every aspect of our wedding. I would consider my mother and I pretty strongly opinionated clientele (lol) and the team handled us with grace, and even helped to diffuse some difficult moments throughout the planning process. The team brought an unbiased perspective and challenged us to think differently (which at times we needed) and they kept us on track and moving forward on both small and big decisions. Christine’s industry expertise proved invaluable, as she helped us book an amazing vendor team that executed our day seamlessly. We are still getting compliments about our wedding from family and friends, many noting that it was one of the best weddings they’ve been to. The team we had with us day-of was extremely efficient, kept us on schedule, and handled all of the day-of vendor coordination. Because of them, my husband and I were able to really live in the moment on our wedding day, and soak it all in. Although I could go on and on about our amazing day, it would be a mistake not to highlight the incredible staff that we got the pleasure of working with. Talk about a kind, genuine, and down right talented team of individuals! Kristen was our go-to for day-to-day communications, and was such a Rockstar! She was extremely prompt, thorough, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Giora led up our florals and design and oh my god is this guy an artist! Our florals were something out of a fairytale and truly brought the whole event to life. Last but not least, Christine. Her bubbly yet endearing personality is completely infectious, and she is such a Mega Boss!!!! She is truly an industry leader and we couldn’t have done this without her and her wonderful team! They crafted the most perfect day for us and we are forever grateful for them.

I wanted my wedding to have little personal details, and she made sure to include that as a focus in all our planning meetings. And on my wedding day, she was the calming presence I needed to make sure the day felt perfect. If there were any issues that happened, I wouldn’t know because she handled them with grace and tact. The florals were also out of this world. Giora and team created the romantic vision I had in mind so well, it took my breath away when they first opened the doors. our wedding. She far exceeded our expectations without breaking a sweat, and all of our guests were astonished at how amazing everything turned out. Also, the fact that they are not just planners but also a floral and design team was a HUGE bonus. On top of excelling in things we hired Katy for, she went out of her way to help me on my big day. A brides worst nightmare: I show up on my wedding day horribly ill with food poisoning. Katy was waiting for me with crackers and pedialyte (straw included!) and an offer to get me a mobile IV clinic. Without her my wedding would not have happened, period. If you’re on the fence about hiring this team, get off of it. Not only are you hiring them for their expertise, you’re also hiring them to help you out of any wedding day weeds. I really hope I can hire them for other events in the future!

e it to the rehearsal dinner with the photographer for us to meet prior to the wedding day. She made sure everything we needed was at the hotel, the transportation was present, and everyone knew where to go the entire day. Her floral design was great and her ceremony coordination was perfect. We talked about afterward how literally nothing went wrong the entire day. Part of that was luck and weather, but had we been unlucky, she had plans for those possibilities as well. Of note, I did notice the review immediately preceding this review for a wedding at the Alder in July (our was at the Adler in August and also had been rescheduled), and we definitely did not have the same experience. Christine was on point for everything relating to our wedding, the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, coordinating transport to our after party, etc. She even made sure all our cards and gifts were in our hotel room that night. We also met Christine 1.5 years ago and she is just as passionate and attentive as she was then, in our opinions.

our October 2020 wedding. Like many other couples though, we had to postpone our wedding to November 2021 due to COVID. Christine and Kendall took an overwhelming situation and made it better by reaching out to all our vendors for availabilities and producing new contracts for the new date. Despite all of the unknowns, Christine never failed to reassure us and maintained an upbeat, bubbly attitude. We could even hear her smiling throughout all of our phone meetings! Her joyful personality is truly infectious. Christine did a great job of staying within our budget and was always transparent about costs and design feasibility. Also, she was open to adjustments if we didn't like a design element. As for our wedding decor - it was stunning! We received SO MANY compliments. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. While Kendall and Breena were keeping us on schedule and helping us in every way possible (veil placement, holding my bouquet, etc.), Christine was working alongside the rest of her team assembling the decor at the venue. These ladies went above and beyond in every aspect! I would 100% recommend Christine and CJDE to any bride and groom out there. They will not let you down.

o get things sorted out. Wedding Planning: We had been engaged for a year (Dec 2019), and due to covid, were struggling to plan our wedding on our own in Chicago. We booked Christine in January 2021. The CDJE team was able to guide us through the whole process and we were able to have an amazing special day in November 2021. Their knowledge and experience in the industry gave us the confidence in every option they presented us when choosing a venue, photographer, DJ, hair & makeup, etc. Design and Flowers: Christine was also in charge of the design plan and flowers for our wedding. All we had to do was provide inspiration (photos of past weddings, Pinterest pages, etc.) and her team put together our dream wedding. We also met and were provided with a mockup of our tablescape, flowers, linens, day of paper etc. so we could see exactly how our wedding reception would look. Day of Wedding Coordination: Christine and her team were with my husband and I through every part of our wedding day, and at the venue making sure that everything went to plan. The ceremony and reception were both beautiful and perfect. Thanks to CDJEs hard work, we were able to fully enjoy our day without having to stress all the little details!!

Already stressed because we lost our first florist as a result of the pandemic, Christine and Katy and team were so accommodating and made sure they could make our floral dreams come true. They were truly able to make my terrible PowerPoint floral mood board into exactly what I wanted - elegant/sophisticated/timeless arrangements. The floral arrangements the day of absolutely took our breath away the minute we walked into the room! In terms of day of coordination, Katy and team were fantastic! Being a type A person myself, Katy was always on top of it. Katy built out the most detailed timeline for the day of the wedding to ensure everything went smoothly. She honestly made the months leading up to the wedding and the actual wedding day feel so seamless. She was so helpful in pulling together all the little details to make our day so perfect! quirement when looking for a planning team was kindness and second creativity. Check, check, and then so much more! From start to finish, we knew we didn't want a traditional wedding, and the CJDE team took our nuggets of requests and ran with them in ways we never could have imagined, giving us the most unique, joyful, special, beautiful, memorable celebration we could ask for—as cliche as it sounds, it truly was the best weekend of our lives! Starting from finding us the perfect venue, caterers, band, and more . . . you can tell they are so loved in the industry. This is no surprise, as they really are the kindest team. Christine and Kendall understood that we wanted to honor the marriage first and then just celebrate (read dance, drink, and party all night . . .) our special love, our love ones, and give our guests an amazing Chicago weekend. On a personal note, I lost my mother 2 years before the wedding, and Christine made sure honoring her in our ceremony was a priority. Then 2 months before the wedding, I unexpectedly lost my father. Christine was my emotional lifeline and became a friend, therapist, safe space, and confidante during this time leading up to the wedding. She went behind the scenes with my husband and planned, last minute, special touches to honor my dear dad and make sure I felt both of my parents' presence. I could go on and on with how many special moments Christine, Kendall, and the rest of the team gave us. I guess some brides find wedding planning stressful . . . that was the complete opposite of us. Every step of the process was a joy—so much so that we miss our CJDE Team so much and feel like we came out of the weekend with the most special memories and a team of lifelong friends!

s) for my cousin since I was her MOH. The first two I planned were canceled due to Covid. Finally, the third time was a charm because I found Christine and Kendall (CJDE)! Honestly, once I needed to plan for a third time I was pretty frustrated and drained; they completely took over for me! It was exactly the kind of help I needed and wanted. I gave them photos for inspiration and chatted with them about what I was looking for. They NAILED it!! I mean, it was absolutely STUNNING-I still have people telling me how gorgeous the shower was and it was back in August. Kendall and Christine are patient, kind, understanding, and most of all-extremely talented! I will absolutely be working with them again! If you are looking for an event planner, look no further! Eternally grateful for these ladies!

Entrusting Christine and her team with that responsibility was the best thing I ever did to ensure that my husband, my family, and I could have the best day possible. CJDE did such an amazing job of listening to us throughout the planning process and working with every other vendor to make the day seamless, easy, and most importantly, enjoyable. Just an example of their excellence… I had this grandiose idea of surprising my husband with a bagpipe precessional before I walked down the aisle. Christine took the task on like a champ, she coordinated with everyone behind the scenes for me, kept it a secret with me (even from my parents for 4 MONTHS!), and gave me the confidence that this would go off without a glitch. Which it did, and it was epic! When it came to bringing our design plan to life with their floral expertise, they absolutely knocked it out of the park. Every element of decor came together 100x better than what I could have imagined. Truly, I have envy for all those that get to work with them in the future now that my wedding is over, but at the same time I have so much love and pride for them in seeing their amazing work on social media every week and getting to to say to myself, “that’s my planner!!!” Christine, Katy, & team — you all are amazing people and incredible to work with. Katy attended the rehearsal wedding walk through and provided the wedding party a precise time line. She is very detail oriented and always provided us with very concise information after she had communicated with all of our vendors. She has a very good disposition and worked well with all our vendors. The day of the wedding she arrived very early and stayed late into the evening to make sure we stayed on our time line. We became completely overwhelmed after planning and re-planning (thanks covid) our wedding and hired Katy and the CJDE team to help us navigate the last 3 months leading up to the wedding. It was the best decision we ever made. Katy kept us on task, helped communicate with vendors (some of which were extremely difficult to wrangle), created a schedule that worked best for us and our families, and made the lead up to the wedding as stress-free as possible. Being in the event industry myself, I feared I was going to be the bride that was constantly worrying about the little things day of. Katy took all of that fear away from me and executed everything FLAWLESSLY. If you are on the fence about hiring a planner, my advice is to just do it! Hiring the CDJE team was the best decision we made for our day!

We also almost had to reschedule again, due to Chicago restrictions, and they were on the case immediately lining things up and making calls.. just in case. Thankfully it did go through! :) Their professionalism as well as their general friendliness was what we needed during this crazy time. They also made sure to be safe with the COVID restrictions and I had no worry’s about that during our big day. I would highly recommend using them for wedding planning. As a wedding photographer, I see it all when it comes to event design and floral. So when it was my turn to be a bride, I knew I wanted the best -- Christine Janda + the CJDE team....

I got married on a tiny island off Mexico, and Christine worked magic to make sure my wedding and floral were oh-so-swoon worthy. Even when we had a tricky time getting some of the floral I wanted like king protea in Mexico, she managed to find it and created the most insane bridal bouquet and floral for my beachy, boho wedding. Everyone still talks about how gorgeous my flowers were, and I've even had my brides use my bouquet as their inspiration for their own flowers. :) If you are looking for someone who will get inside your head and think of the smallest details you didn't know you wanted, the CJDE team is who you need. They over-deliver, and they made the day even better than I could have dreamed. I can't gush about them enough!!!
