as incredibly organized, attentive, and supportive. I’m not the most organized person but she responded to every question, every one off email without complaint! Was responsive and fun to work with. Jenny handled all the logistics seamlessly from ceremony, beer cart, appetizers to dinner and beyond allowing us to focus on enjoying the moment. On the day of the wedding, Jenny was a calming presence amidst all the excitement. We had some weather issues and couldn’t get outside for ceremony but she ensured everything ran smoothly, and the day was absolutely perfect. Guests raved about the beautiful setup and how everything felt so coordinated. I highly recommend Jenny and Chula Vista to anyone getting married! Thanks Jenny!!

If I were to do my wedding all over again the one thing, I wouldn’t change would be our venue.

It was absolutely beautiful. Guests loved the food! Jenny was SO helpful through every step--our initial tour, our booking, the food tasting and even on the day of. At the start of wedding planning, I was adamant that I didn't want to get married in/around a resort but I'm so glad that I opened my mind to Chula Vista. It was wonderful!!!

best. She made us feel very welcomed to the venue, gave us honest advice, and truly went out of her way to make our experience excellent. We instantly fell in love on the tour with how inclusive everything they had to offer was. The things that really struck us were the different venues to chose from, the fact that their was lodging for our guests, and that they included shuttles with booking. After we toured, we were a bit hesitant about the reviews online of the actual hotel rooms themselves but Jennifer suggested we see for ourselves and stay a night. This resolved any hesitancy we had, as the room we stayed in was very spacious and clean. Throughout our planning, Jennifer gave us great advice on food and drink packages, how much of what to get for our guest count and provided a lot of local vendors to look into. The weekend of our wedding, she was always available and took care of any of our needs. We stayed at the Chalet House and had our ceremony at Fairway Grove. Fairway Grove truly felt like it was out of a fairytale. We held our rehearsal dinner in the Chalet House, which had plenty of space for the 30+ people that attended. It was also nice to have space outside on the deck and yard at the Chalet House so we did not feel cramped. Our reception was at the Riverview Ballroom. The ballroom itself looked beautiful once it all came together. Jennifer recommended Bluemoon Event Rentals and they did a fabulous job setting up the ballroom. The bistro lighting and wall hangings really gave the space the romantic summer evening feel that we were going for. The patio on the river really blew us and our guests away, it was set up with bistro lights and yard games from Bluemoon and it really gave our guests something to do. Truly all of the staff were very kind, helpful and attentive to us and our guests. We truly could not have imagined a better spot to have our wedding. It felt like Jennifer and her staff were truly in our corner the whole way through; going into wedding planning, we were nervous we would get tricked into some of the hidden fees or costs that some vendors are known for but Jennifer was upfront, professional and offered us great advice. She is clearly extremely experienced in wedding planning and truly has her couples best interest at heart. Going with the Chula Vista was one of the best decisions we made. Thanks for everything.

mony site, which was insanely beautiful. We had rented the Chalet House which is right by the ceremony site. The house was perfect for getting ready in and it worked great to have our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at. The afternoon of the rehearsal dinner, Jenny met us with the keys for the house to ensure we got in ok and to check in. The morning of the wedding the staff came and cleaned the whole reception area, and we were able to set up the area early. Our reception site was the Tent at Cold Water Canyon which was also beautiful and perfect for our kid-friendly wedding. It was a little warm that day so having an area where people could go outside and play yard games was perfect. The tent was cleaned and set up the day before, so we were able to get in early on the day of the wedding to set up our decorations and add final touches. All the staff at Chula Vista were amazing to work with, friendly and very kind. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the bartenders were great! Our guests are still complimenting on how great the food was and how wonderful the bar staff were. Jenny the wedding venue coordinator was fabulous throughout the entire process. She is extremely knowledgeable in the wedding industry and cares so much for the couples that she works with. We had several in-person meetings beforehand with Jenny and in those meetings, she took the time to get to know us to ensure that she could help make our day perfect. She was also just an email or call away when we had questions. She would also reach out and check in with us to ensure things were going well on our end. On the day of the wedding, she was so helpful in ensuring the ceremony went smoothly and kept us both stress free. She even helped me straighten out my dress and vail right before I walked down the aisle. Overall, I cannot thank Chula Vista and Jenny enough for all their hard work and help in making our wedding day so perfect. I highly recommend working with both Jenny and the Chula Vista crew for your wedding.

The staff at the resort were also great too! The servers were very nice and even set out our desert table for us (we didn't know they would do that!). Also the bartenders were fun too! Our food was absolutely amazing! So many guests complimented the taste and also the portion size! It was above and beyond our expectations. There was one hiccup during our entire stay (construction) and Jenny did so much to make it up to us! The venue itself was perfect! We got married at Fairway Grove and it was so beautiful with the trees in the background and the arch that is already there. We did our reception at the Riverview Ballroom and we loved it! The little atrium on the side was the perfect spot for the dance floor and it was nice to have easy access to the outside. Our pictures also turned out amazing and we have to thank the Wisconsin River and all the beautiful locations we could take our photos at. Beware ladies-there are a lot of steps if you want photos down on the docks, but TOTALLY worth it. Lastly, something that was important to us was a one stop shop and Chula Vista has that. We were able to do everything from the rehearsal dinner to reception all at the resort. It was good knowing our guests could enjoy themselves and then just go up the elevator to their rooms! We couldn't be more thankful and grateful for how our wedding turned out, definitely recommend the Chula Vista to anyone and everyone!

They have a wedding coordinator that is very knowledgeable, helpful and kind. She answered all of our questions immediately and handled every moment of our journey with Chula in a very professional and kind manner. We highly recommend Chula Vista Resort for any event but especially for weddings.

back up plan for inclement weather -ceremony and reception in the same location THEN I saw the pictures online- absolutely beautiful! Right on the Wisconsin River! But what I didn't realize was the best part of having our wedding at the Chula Vista was going to be working with Jenny. She was so helpful right from the start. She provided me with her personal phone number and was able to help with anything I needed. We had a great day, and everything went off without any problems that I am aware of! All of my vendors were familiar with Jenny, and all had good comments about working with the Chula Vista. Jenny provided me a list of vendors that was helpful with booking my florist, photographer, DJ, and cake, but I was able to use anybody that I wanted. The Chula Vista provided the food and alcohol, but they had many food choices and different alcohol packages. The Chula Vista has several locations for both the ceremony and receptions, so you have multiple options for what you want your day to be. There was another wedding there the same day, with the ceremony at the same time. I would not have known this was happening if Jenny had not told me. She did a great job of balancing both events while still giving me 10000 percent. Overall, we were very very very happy with our wedding, and would recommend the Chula Vista to anyone we know.

y easy for all guests to come and go as they pleased and feel a little at home. We had our wedding on Memorial Day weekend so we encouraged our guests to make it an entire long family weekend. Chula Vista was the perfect place. Our guests could enjoy time with their kids at the water parks and then have a date night out for our wedding! The food was amazing and staff was so friendly, attentive and helpful! My husband and I had the best time!

ly with Jenny Akers for over a year in preparation for the day and she was wonderful. She communicated quickly and effectively via email and phone throughout the entire year. I had 100 questions for her that she answered promptly. She made sure we were always all on the same page. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. We were told there wouldn't be transportation available to and from the tent, but then there was. This was a pleasant surprise but I wish I could have communicated that there WOULD be transportation to our guests prior to the day of. Also, we were told Chula would pack away our tier cake and freeze it for us, but it was sitting out on the table at the end of the night and was not packed away and froze for us. Other than those two things, we REALLY loved having our wedding at Chula Vista and we LOVED working with Jenny. She was super accommodating and wonderful to work with. My husband, the groom, got free golf the morning of the wedding, Jenny brought her personal projector for us to use the day of the wedding, the food was excellent, the bar staff was wonderful, and the tent was BEAUTIFUL. Everything was PERFECT. I would definitely recommend having your wedding at Chula Vista.

understanding that we had a gluten free cutting cake(due to my allergy) as well as a regular serving cake for the guests. They were very attentive to our needs, and the bartender was stellar. He was honestly one of the highlights of our event. Never have I been to an event where the bartender was a star vendor until now. He was so wonderful! Polite, accommodating, and went above and beyond with his service. 10 stars out of 5. The only less than 5 star component was the worn down bridal suite. It was comfortable but the furniture was well worn and some appeared to need replacement. There is also no late check out.. Luckily we didn't spend much time at the suite, and it was included in our wedding deal, so overall that was okay. No sign of any pests either, extremely clean. The cleanliness was noteworthy.

cially since we had our 3rd and final coordinator announced less than a month before the wedding.. with all that being said, Taylor was amazing and did awesome at handling how flustered we were with having another new coordinator just before our big day! Taylor was very timely in her responses and if we had questions about anything she was awesome about explaining it all! All this COVID stuff has made planning a wedding crazy and Chula did a good job at keeping everyone feeling safe and keeping us in the loop while planning. At our reception, the servers were awesome and very quick with getting the food out. Our bartenders were amazing and we received a lot of compliments about them! We had two bartenders and there was hardly ever a line for drinks because they were so quick! We did give each guest who booked a room a welcome bag, but while walking back from the reception we were greeted by a random group that thanked us for their welcome bag. Obviously we had no idea who they were so we’re not sure how many bags may have been lost in the shuffle.. the ballroom looked amazing though and it was so nice to have our reception and hotel room in the same place!

ding coordinators. After COVID-19 hit EVERYTHING was complicated x10. They were unworkable, constantly changing things, saying we could do one thing only to take it back, and tacking on ridiculous charges. The guest/customer service is pretty awful too. All of our guests were pretty taken aback at how rude pretty much everyone was up at the check in desk with the exception of about two people. Under the impression that a wedding block meant everyone would be pretty close together was not true as everyone was scattered around the resort. Our wedding was in July and I contacted them starting in April trying to figure out how we could either get our money back or at least half otherwise just have just a ceremony so we could do a big reception closer to home since we live in Milwaukee. None of that was ok per the manager! We were forced to either spend the money that was put down, lose all of our money or postpone to next year in hopes we didn’t have to reschedule and face cancellation/rescheduling fees. Rachel was our original wedding coordinator and then in December Alyssa took over. We were told that contact would be made once a 6 month meeting/tasting was to be arranged. I had to take the initiative and email them myself as it was almost February and I was not notified yet. Not taking into account that we have about a two hour drive Alyssa tried to schedule us at 10am! At the meeting we were told a new wedding coordinator who took Rachel’s place would be stepping in and apparently no one wanted to coach her on customer service or making sure if she wasn’t sure about something to not give an answer until the correct info is confirmed. We were constantly being told that things we were asking were ok to do and then it wasn’t. I was pretty calm but VERY stressed after we had our two week follow up meeting where Taylor tried to get us to change our menu from buffet style to plated and thought we should contact all of our guests who had already RSVP’d, told us we couldn’t use the chophouse restaurant anymore even though she gave us the ok to have 35-50 guests in there and then told us we would be charged $50 to rent plexi glass to put in front of food as it was now apart of a CDC guideline. So two weeks from the wedding we are scrambling to set up a ballroom, find decorations, reschedule our DJ and get stuck with a extra $400 in some charges because we needed a dance floor, wall draping, and plexi glass. It was an absolute nightmare. All of this is just a small summary of just a few things we had to put up with. Also if they get viruses on their computers and it sends out spam emails saying a lawsuit will be filed if you don’t pay x amount they won’t contact you and make sure you aware of the scam. STAY AWAY!

wever, they weren't the most customer-friendly. There was never any room for negotiating, and we ended up having to cancel/postpone our wedding reception due to the COVID-19 crisis. During this exhausting, stressful, sad time in our lives, Chula Vista was not very considerate. They refused to give back our money and showed no sympathy.

food. It was difficult to answer while chewing. It could have been set up better. We were then asked to decide what we wanted to go with and we told our planner, Alyssa, we couldn’t decide because we were unsatisfied with all it, from it being cold and turning gelatinous, having bones, and the rice still being crunchy. She had said they would give us a second tasting, free of charge a month later. Well when we left we all had to run to the bathroom because the food actually made us physically ill. To say we were nervous for even a second tasting is an understatement. We then asked how much it would be to bring in our own caterer since that was an option laid out in the paperwork given to us for the tent venue location. After I sent that email, I was given the reply of choosing whether we wanted to keep our date or part ways and get our deposit back. I was given less than 46 hours to decide otherwise I would have lost my deposit and had to pay 50% of food costs. All of this less than 6 months before our wedding. We decided to pull the plug based on lack of communication, getting sick from the food, and just being downright unwilling to work with us bringing in our own caterer when it said it is an option. I was supposed to receive my check 7-14 business days after our contract was canceled. 14 days later and it was still not in the mail. I reached out to our planner and accounting. Alyssa couldn’t give me a straight answer about the check for days. Finally I received an email saying that my check was never even sent out and they were sending it out now. I have since received it. The whole experience has left me really disappointed in Chula Vista and I would NOT recommend them for hosting your wedding. I worked in the Dells and have attended multiple events at Chula that went great. Not sure what happened to the resort, it might be under bad management now, the planners not trained enough, new chef, or maybe all of the above. We did have a great experience with Rachel until she left, that’s the only positive I have had with our experience.

Everyone especially loved the food we served — we had food stations with various carved meats, and people were raving about them! The staff at the reception were so great as well; they were all very helpful and friendly. I can’t say enough about our experience! It was excellent!! The only challenges people had were navigating the resort, but that worked itself out over time. Some of the decor, especially the carpeting in the banquet rooms, was a bit dated, but I’ve seen they are taking on some renovations. Overall I would recommend Chula as a great choice for a wedding and reception! Thank you Rachel and everyone at Chula Vista for a wonderful wedding and great memories!

made us feel as if we were asking for too much, while also making sure we had everything we wanted. The tasting, however, was a bit misleading. The food for the tasting was terrific; however, it seemed a bit bland during the actual reception. That said, the tasting and wedding date were several months apart, so there could have been a change in the kitchen. Regardless, we had high expectations but received zero complaints from any of our 225 guests. Overall, our ceremony venue (Fairway Grove) was perfect. It rained the morning of our ceremony and Chula brought out a fresh mulch, that was very much appreciated. Even further, the Tent at Cold Water Canyon met and exceeded our every need. I would most definitely recommend Chula Vista Resort to anyone looking for a relaxed, elegant, clean wedding venue.

e food was the best wedding meal they ever had! Rachel was our on site coordinator and she was so helpful and a total sweet heart! Having everything on site and not having to make several room blocks and arrange transportation made our lives so much easier and we decided to embrace the natural beauty of the setting instead of going overboard with decorations. The best part is we can go back regularly for anniversaries and take our future children on family vacations to the place we said our vows and celebrated the most amazing day of our lives!

n’t necessarily listen to anyone when asked not to take away their food. My husband and I barely ate anything. We had mentioned several times NOT to take our food, but it was gone the second I turned my back. Also, we had a plate taken from a toddler before she was finished eating. Her mother had mentioned many times not to take her food yet. For nearly $40 a plate, you’d think they’d listen. Also, we have no idea what happened with our wedding cake. We don’t know if it was completely eaten, or if they took it and threw it away. I’m still incredibly upset over these 2 instances. Other than that, everything was great. Just make sure to hide your food if you still want it!!

s to take place outside, we were told we had a back-up room, which apparently got booked a couple weeks before the wedding. When I asked where I could get married, they informed me I could get married in the tent (where the reception was held) but I was not able to move any of the furniture (tables and chairs). They actually expected me to weave through tables and have some of my guests have there back turned towards me and they were still planning on charging me the fee for getting married on the deck, even though it was raining! After a long conversation we were able to move the tables to the back of the room and I got the aisle that I wanted. The only unfortunate part was after the wedding we had to kick all the guests out (back into the rain) so that the furniture could get rearranged for the ceremony. We were also told that they had heaters available for rent if we were interested, 3 days before the wedding we realized we would be needing a heater, when I contacted Jen (wedding coordinator) I was informed they didn't have any heaters. We had to scramble to find a heater and had to pay top dollar. The day of the wedding we were not able to get into the tent to set-up until 10am the morning of the wedding. The wedding was at 2, so it was a scramble to get everything set-up. I didn't get to see any of my bridesmaids that morning because we were all taking turns getting ready for the wedding and trying to set-up the tent. The event coordinator (Jen) was no help, because she was giving tours to other couples that morning (completely unacceptable!) and when my bridesmaid asked her a question during a tour, she flat out told her that she was busy giving tours and would not answer her question! Not to mention she forgot to put the mirror centerpieces on all the tables and informed us 30 min. before the wedding that the votive candles that they promise in the brochure would not work in the mercury votives I rented. We didn't have enough time to get candles so they sat on the table empty all night. The only good thing I can say about Chula Vista is the food, the chicken pesto and the prosciutto pork was excellent.. We received several complaints from our guests about the room accommodations. The check-in process was terrible and our guests got different rooms than they had booked. At the reception, our guests would set there drinks down and when they returned the drinks would be gone. We stayed three nights and were told we would not get charged for our room on the wedding night. We reserved our room and after we checked in we were informed there was a bridal suite so we got upgraded to that. When we got our credit card statement we were charged for 2 nights in the bridal suite and 3 nights in our "standard" room we had originally booked. If I could do it all over again, I would not have my wedding at the Chula Vista. The lack of communication is terrible, they promise things they later change because they know they cannot live up to there promises, and they organization is sub-par. If you want your wedding day to go smoothly, this is not the place to have your wedding.

o my husband and I went to visit the resort for a tour. It was our first venue touring and right away we knew that this was the venue we wanted to get married at. We were able to choose the ceremony and reception location on the Grand Canyon Golf Course with the beautiful outdoor tent. At the time we met Mikayla and she was great. She always responded to our emails or phone calls fairly quickly and really worked with us to make sure that we were getting everything we needed or wanted. She was always able to answer any questions we had. As our wedding was nearing, unfortunately Mikayla had left the resort and we had a new wedding coordinator, Jenn. She was new and I'm sure overwhelmed with all of the weddings she was thrown into. Yet, she and everybody else in charge helped to make sure everything was a smooth transition and helped to make our wedding one we'll never forget. The resort was very flexible and professional. The day of our wedding was beyond beautiful. Everyone at the resort was beyond helpful and polite. Not to mention that the catering exceeded our exceptions. All of our guests raved about how it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Our experience at Chula Vista was wonderful and we were so happy that we were able to have our wedding there. The pictures are also breathtaking with the many beautiful locations we were able to choose from surrounding the resort. Just beautiful! And the water parks were an awesome perk before and after the wedding to make a nice mini family vacation out of it.

Then to find out a few days before our wedding we wouldn't have the coordinator there or that they didn't even know of who the backup would be until 2 days before was very frustrating. My wedding day did go great but I wish the hotel could of had better communication with my husband and I.

te right down to the thoughtful card and champaign waiting for us. We had a snafu while checking in, our suite was given to my parents instead but it was quickly corrected and was not a problem. My only complaint was that I assumed a "block" of rooms meant they would be near eachother or atleast in the same building but our guests were spread across the campus. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Like I said before though, the rooms were great, our guests and us really enjoyed the indoor waterpark and we really enjoyed the morning breakfast buffet on site the next morning. I would recommend Chula Vista to my friends and family for future events.

a huge relief when you're trying to get things planned. I was a little disappointed in the Chula Vista hotel staff, as I had a few guests tell me that they were not friendly. Banquet staff was great though, and we had many compliments on the excellent food! The best part was having Mikayla and the Events intern, Kayla, there on the day of our wedding to help everything go smoothly. I so appreciated that and it was a huge relief off of my shoulders the day of. We are so happy with our decision to pick Chula Vista for our ceremony and reception!
