Wow. Cityplace is a GORGEOUS all white open venue. We got married in the atriums and the ceilings were several stories high. Darlene, Lauro, and team were amazing. They worked so hard to make every special, custom detail we wanted a reality (and we had a lot) And all our guests raved about the food. Thank you, Cityplace!
I was the Bridesmaid and was treated so special - you can imagine how special they treated the Bride! She had nothing but great things to say about this place. I just got engaged last month and I am hoping to book Cityplace for my wedding, too!
My daughter's wedding was magnificent at CityPlace! Darlene, Jeff and their team were wonderful to work with. They accommodated all of our wishes to best of their abilities. I have to mention, the food they served was absolutely wonderful - top quality. And to be honest, we didn't expect that from a non-hotel venue. We were pleasantly surprised :) We chose CityPlace primarily because of the breath taking views, but the service, the dinner and the team were just as wonderful as the view. I would recommend CityPlace to any couple looking to have a magnificent wedding.
When my oldest daughter got engaged, I had no idea where to begin looking for venues for her wedding. I turned to wedding websites and read reviews for days! I kept coming back to Cityplace Events and if I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t change a thing! It was the best of everything! The entire experience from dealing with Darlene (who is AMAZING!) through the planning, tasting, set up and finally the actual reception couldn’t have been more wonderful! Darlene and Lauro made everything so easy because they were there for me (I didn’t have a wedding planner) from the first contact all the way through to the reception. The food, service and view could not have been any better. My guests had the best time and it was more than I could have ever hoped for!
Darlene and Jason at CityPlace were the best! Without hesitation, we would highly recommend having a wedding reception at CityPlace under their guidance. The whole staff hustled and anticipated all of our guests wants and needs. The food was highly praised by our guests...the venue was a wow experience with Dallas lights twinkling outside the windows. We had so many compliments on one of the best receptions they have attended. That speaks to the professionalism of Darlene and Jason. ** A special mention to Jason for going above and beyond for his extra effort.
CityPlace was fabulous in nearly every aspect. The venue was gorgeous, the view was remarkable, and the layout provided the decorators a significant amount of creative freedom. The most impressive part of our experience was the remarkable service from the preparatory meetings to the day of the wedding. CityPlace's event coordinators stayed throughout the wedding day for any troubleshooting and their team of waitstaff, bartenders, security, and ushers functioned like clockwork. They gave me the wedding of my dreams that left an amazing impression on my family and friends.
Absolutely amazing! Darlene and Jason made the whole experience so memorable. We had the ceremony in the Loft Ballroom and the reception in the Club Ballroom, both on the 42nd floor, and did a cocktail hour in the foyer between the two ballrooms. We had so many compliments on the venue, and our guests had so much fun taking pictures of the view of Downtown Dallas as the sun set.
For the first few times we mostly worked with Darlene and she was incredibly receptive to our ideas, needs, and budget. My husband and I both work in the event industry so we were able to handle planning most of the details and we hired a day-of coordinator for the wedding and ceremony. Darlene and Jason worked really well with our coordinator and it seemed like they had been working together for years! I always say the mark of a good event coordinator is that you never notice them during your event, unless they want to be noticed, and I would say that rings true for them.
We also catered through Cityplace and rented a margarita machine. Their menu is extensive and caters to different price points; we picked a middle option and had many compliments on the food and drinks. I think the food tasting was our favorite phase of the whole thing! The bartenders were amazing and worked well with the vendor we chose for the margarita machine.
The bridal suite and the groom's suite had plenty of room to spread out, get dressed/get makeup and hair done, and hang out. It is interesting to have the suites located across the atrium from each other, so be prepared to have a lookout to ensure no one sees each other! (It did make it a little more fun for our group to have to sneak around, though. They did a good job taking me around the building so that no one saw me until the big reveal at the ceremony.)
Overall, I cannot say enough good things about the whole experience. I recommend them wholeheartedly. Thank you to Darlene, Jason, and Chef Andrew!
Cityplace is a great venue with awesome views! We held our ceremony in the Loft and reception in the Club Room on the top floor. The space was a great size for our 165 guest count. We got a lot of good feedback on the food and the service was also great. Darlene is great to work with and is very responsive to emails and phone calls. Parking is a little confusing with multiple floors of parking and entry ramps, but any high rise will be like that.
Our wedding was incredible, and we really owe it to Darlene, Jason and Cityplace. Working with this team was such a dream, Darlene was always prompt in answering any questions I had and she really worked hard to make my vision come to life. The venue's views, food, and staff were incomparable to any venues we visited previously and we could not have made a better decision. Thank you to the entire team, we will treasure our wedding memories forever!
If I could describe this venue and the incredible team that helped bring out dream wedding to life? It’d be MAGICAL! Darlene and her team went above and beyond to make sure myself, my groom, our wedding party as well as friends and family wanted for nothing. The views, the event space, the food, and above all, the team makes this one of the prime wedding venues in town!

city place event made my dream come true. if it wasn't for Chic Occasion makeup company messed up and delayed my wedding ( all of my loved one came over for the wedding from Vietnam, Australia and because of that conpany, I did not get photos with them, only got like 1 or 2 because of the time was so late...) it would have been a perfect wedding for us.
Darlene was really nice and helpful, she tried to complete every single thing that I asked for. that staffs were amazing, they always mads sure that you are doing fine at the party, if you needed anything else. overall it was an amazing experience sharing the most impotant moment with City Place, everyone was happy. thank you!!!!
... when I first walked into meet Darlene Cope at CityPlace Events, I knew immediately this was the place I wanted to get married. As a young skier, my father and I would visit a Washington state ski resort and on the way to the resort a sign would read, "There's no place like this place so this must be the place." This is the sentiment I felt in that moment.
Then, from working with my timelines, my out-of-state parents and guests, vision for a layout at the reception, and various needs, everything was met with compassion, kindness, accuracy, diligence, and smiles. Darlene's passion to make a bride's day lovely and meaningful is infectious! Her positivity and encouraging words make the entire experience easy. The food? Superb! The bar setting? Awesome! The view? There is none like it!
My husband and I got married on the 42nd floor and I would recommend that experience to anyone. In fact, sometimes I wish I could do it all over again.

CityPlace is such a beautiful venue with the Dallas skyline in the background. The food was amazing and the service seemed effortless. Everyone was pleasant and Darlene 's calming voice and manner was very apparent throughout the evening. All of our guests from Dallas, Oklahoma, Scotland, Canada and Thailand had a fantastic time. I would highly recommend CityPlace to anyone having an event. First class all the way.
Cityplace is the best!!! The service is exceptional! Darlene and Lauro are truly amazing. They answer all your questions and the day of the wedding are completely at your service to help set up and tear down and to make sure your glass is never empty. The food was absolutely incredible and the service was just as wonderful. I can not say enough how happy I am I chose them as my wedding day venue. We used the entire 42nd floor for both our ceremony and reception and everything ran so smoothly. They are truly an amazing venue and I would highly recommend them.
I loved my wedding at Cityplace. The view was phenomenal, and the service was great. Our private dinner before the reception was personalized and everyone raved about the food. The service was great as well, our drinks were always full, and they even went out of their way for one of my guests with a food allergy. Would recommend!

There was room for a big band and a great space to dance. I loved that we were all in the same big room, but there was place right outside the door to sit and get away from the music for people that wanted that and a bar out there.
The food was SO good! We got so many compliments that the food was the best food our guests had at a wedding.
MOST OF ALL**** Darlene and Lauro were AMAZING. I cannot say enough good things about Darlene. She is so kind and easy to work with. She is always so easy to get a hold of, and makes sure that you are getting all of your wishes and needs met. Lauro and Darlene were constantly checking on me and my family during the reception.

The 42nd floor of Cityplace was the perfect venue for ceremony, cocktails, and reception. We knew it as soon as we got off the elevator. The night time view of downtown Dallas was beautiful The food was excellent. The service was professional and elegant. The entire staff was trained so well that everything went very smoothly. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day for my daughter!

We could not have asked for a better venue. Darlene was AMAZING to work with over the course of our planning process. She is super organized and gave us so many great pointers. She made every aspect of planning fun and we loved it!!! Lauro was our wedding day coordinator and he went above and beyond at every turn. The staff did a great job from setting up the room, serving food and alcohol, to tearing down and helping our parents load up cars after the event was over. The food was amazing and had great selections and the venue was GORGEOUS!! Our friends and family were very impressed!! Also compared with other venues in the area we thought the pricing was very fair and even less expensive than some other venues that wouldn't have been nearly as nice. We do not have a single bad thing to say about Cityplace. You absolutely should book your day there if you want easy planning, great food and AMAZING service!!!!
I could not have picked a better venue for my wedding! Cityplace was seriously nothing short of amazing. They don't nickel and dime you for every little thing (unlike many other venues I looked into). They have and AMAZING team there and they are truly there to help you out with everything. They did a lot more than I was expecting them to. They have someone who is there just to help you run your event, and have staff there all night long just for you! They are very flexible and very willing to meet any/all of your needs. The food was also DELICIOUS!! I got so many compliments after the wedding about the beautiful wedding venue and the excellent food and service! They really went above and beyond for us. Our wedding was the best day of our lives and Cityplace was a HUGE part of that! You cannot go wrong with Cityplace, they are a wonderful team to work with!

Darlene did an excellent job coordinating my daughter's wedding. She is very organized and responsive, which was a huge help. She did not mind out of the norm questions /requests and would get us a quick answer. I can't say enough good things about her and the staff that night at Cityplace 42nd loft. Her assistant was not quite as knowledgeable, and brought the groom his horsdeuvres with cheese (he is very allergic) despite discussing this ahead a couple of times. But this was the only glitch, so I considered the evening a huge success thanks to Darlene and her staff! Cityplace 42nd loft has a gorgeous view overlooking the city of Dallas at night. I would highly recommend Darlene and Cityplace.
Darlene and her staff took such good care of us. My daughter's wedding was perfect, because of the staff and their attention to detail.

Where do I even begin...our experience with Cityplace and the staff there was excellent! We had both our ceremony and reception in their 42nd floor Loft space, which is a very elegant and versatile space for whatever color scheme or look you're going for. Darlene and Lauro were absolutely wonderful to work with! Darlene was so patient with all our flood of emails with questions and details during the planning process, and Lauro made sure everything in our event space was set up exactly as we wanted it. I can't think of a single thing that didn't go as planned! The food (catered by Andrew Ormsby) was perfection! I can't say enough about what a great experience it was to have our wedding here! I would 100% recommend this venue for reception and/or ceremony, you can't go wrong working with Darlene & Lauro. They are excellent!
City place offers multiple spaces for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They are all beautiful. We were able to have a ceremony space set up that felt like a church. The Director of Sales, Darlene, was refreshingly easy to work with, and very responsive to all of my questions. She takes care of you through out the wedding planning process. When it gets closer to the wedding, Lauro, the Service Manager joins Darlene in executing the final details of the food choices, set up, and time lines.
Thanks to Darlene and Lauro and the Cityplace staff, everything ran smoothly for our ceremony rehearsal (set up only, we asked a family member to run the rehearsal), and again on the wedding day. From the time we arrived on the wedding day until we left after loading our car with our belongings; all the staff, bartenders, waiters, servers, assistants to Darlene and Lauro, and Darlene and Lauro themselves, were efficient, pleasant, always had a smile , and just took care of us and especially the bride and groom. The food was delicious, and beautifully displayed, and our guests loved it. I would not only recommend Cityplace Events, but after looking into multiple wedding venues in the Dallas area, I think Cityplace is the best you will find.
Darlene and Lauro very professional and accommodating. Gorgeous venue with large entertaining spaces, dance floor. And stunning views! Delicious food with ongoing compliments. We chose beef medallions, lightly breaded chicken, asparagus and Ice cream sundaes. Metro DJ was perfect and works well with this venue. You will pay for this venue but it is worth every penny.
The staff at Cityplace are so attentive and helpful throughout the entire planning process. Darlene was so accommodating and so helpful from day one. I did not have a wedding planner and she helped so much when planning the small day of details. I could not have asked for a more professional and helpful group of people to work with. They were AMAZING!
We planned our wedding from Los Angeles and only visited 2 venues. We knew Cityplace was the one after our initial visit with Darlene. Darlene is so sweet and friendly and she answered my many questions promptly. She made planning from another state easy and was always there for me. Cityplace is a great place to hold your wedding because they really listen to what you want to do and then flawlessly execute the plan! On our wedding day, we worked with Lauro and he was fantastic! Everything was perfect on our wedding day and our families were so happy. We had our wedding in the 42nd floor Club room which is very elegant with amazing views of the downtown skyline. Our guests complimented us many times on how elegant and classy the venue was! Everyone enjoyed the food (we had buffet selections of: beef medallions, salmon in soy, chicken in mushroom sauce, red potatoes, and asparagus). Cityplace provided all the linens, Chivari chairs, table decorations, and other decor if needed- this really eliminated the need for any rentals! We HIGHLY recommend Cityplace Events for weddings.
We used the 42nd Floor at CityPlace as the venue for our wedding reception. It was an extremely unique setting and had an amazing view of downtown at night as well as the sunset. We chose to use the Club side (the more wood-paneled, "Country Club-looking" side) over the Loft side (concrete floors, white walls & beautiful draped ceilings with chandeliers). The Club side had the downtown view and also a cool built-in bar area. We had about 210 guests in attendance and it still felt very roomy. The dance floor was the perfect size and the food was wonderful (we got lots of compliments about the food). Darlene and Lauro were our service directors for the evening and did an incredible job coordinating the reception. They were extremely professional and on top of every little detail, I had every confidence in their abilities so I could really just relax and enjoy the ceremony. The service staff was efficient as well - everyone was and and out of the buffet line in 20 minutes! Would ABSOLUTELY recommend CityPlace!
Cityplace exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent and many of our guests commented on how good the food was (we had the carving station and morel stuffed chicken). Darlene and Bernice helped us throughout the process and they went well beyond our expectations in providing excellent service. Thanks to their efforts, and the staff from the bartenders to waitpersons, our reception was flawless. We highly recommend Cityplace as a wedding venue.
This is a beautiful venue, with incredible staff at a very affordable price for the DFW area.

I would however advise, hiring a month of or day of planner, if you do choose to use this venue. While they do provide staff and coordinators, things went much more smoothly with the additional help and relieved quite a bit of stress!

Cityplace exceeded my expectations for my wedding reception! From the first day you walk in, you feel like they truly care to ensure your day is the best. Darlene Cope was an absolute JOY to work with. Lauro, the day-of service manager, was one of the most professional and amazing coordinator I have seen. He made sure everything was set up perfectly and ran on schedule throughout the evening. We have a fairly large wedding of 380 guests and I was worried about the dance floor being large enough. So I could visually see the room, Lauro and Cityplace staff set the room up in advance of how it would be for my reception. This was SUCH a nice gesture that they took the time to do that to make sure I was comfortable with the layout. We had our cocktail hour in the ballroom on the 42nd floor and the reception in the loft on the 42nd floor. The views were amazing! I have also heard raving reviews from our guests on how great the food was. I would recommend this venue to anyone!!! Thanks to all Cityplace staff for making my special day an absolute DREAM!

We fell in love with the 42ND floor at Cityplace for our wedding. The venue is set up perfectly for weddings, and the view is fabulous. Darlene was great to work with from day 1. She was always quick to answer all of my questions and she stayed on top of all of the event details. Lauro was also excellent - he made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding. Overall fantastic experience at Cityplace. The food was excellent and all of our guests kept complimenting us on how great the venue was. I highly recommend Cityplace!

I worked with Darlene and Lauro. They are very kind and super helpful and attentive. When I needed reserved signs for 4 tables 1 hour before guests went into the reception Lauro took care of it. They always made sure my husband and I were taken care of and that everything went on schedule. Everyone loved the venue, the service, the food and amazing view. I'm greatful for all their help in making my wedding day a memoral experience.

We contracted with CityPlace around 14 months before our wedding day. Through every step of the planning process, Darlene, Imelda, Johnny, and Lauro were immensely helpful. Any efforts to contact them were quickly returned, and they all went above and beyond to help us many times.
Service director, Lauro, is the best of the best. From providing helpful suggestions on room layout to putting out wedding favors and making sure our drinks were full all night, Lauro was with us every step of the way. I truly cannot say enough kind words about him and his attitude of service.
The food we selected was excellent and received rave reviews from our guests. (We selected the chicken empanadas, tuna tea sandwiches, Waygu beef, bacon wrapped shrimp, spinach salad with oranges, buttermilk fried chicken, Shinerbock beef, gratin potatoes, grilled vegetables).
The views were breathtaking from our ceremony space on the 24th floor and reception space in the 42nd floor club.
Overall, every single aspect of our wedding was beautiful and memorable because of the hard work of the staff at CityPlace. We toured quite a few venues and ultimately chose CityPlace because of how warm and friendly Darlene was when she gave us the initial tour. Little did we know that every person from parking attendants to bartenders would also be this way. We are so thrilled to have had our wedding and reception here and highly recommend it!
The staff at City Place is awesome!! It is a beautiful place to have your wedding and the staff made it even better! Darlene, the Event Director, was such a blessing and extremely helpful. She was also readily available to assist as needed and answered our questions right away. Lauro and Jason, the Service Directors are incredible!! The staff works soo hard to make sure the family and guests are happy and they are amazing at their jobs. Truly a 5 Star evening!
The 42nd Floor Club at the Tower at Cityplace was an absolutely wonderful place to have our wedding reception! They provided everything - the set-up, break down, catering, staff, security, tables, linens, etc, which made choosing the venue an extremely convenient and easy decision. The Club side is such a gorgeous and traditional looking space with a breathtaking evening view of the Dallas skyline. The venue’s Wedding Sales Director was wonderful to work with and was able to make us feel comfortable and confident that we chose Cityplace for our reception venue. She gave us vendor recommendations, took the initiative to periodically check-in with us, coordinated the food tastings and detail walkthroughs, followed-up with our vendors, and always remained available for all of our questions. Although it was a challenge to find convenient times to schedule the food tasting and detail walkthroughs, she was still able to coordinate appointment times during everyone’s busy work weeks. When we wanted to change and upgrade the wine offerings, she was extremely accommodating and worked closely with the bar manager to ensure that we were taken care of. Our Service Director was also a pleasure to work with and you could immediately tell that he has extensive experience with coordinating wedding receptions, as he was very knowledgeable and offered ideas and guidance throughout the planning process, which we very much appreciated. Also, the in-house catering provided by Andrew Ormsby was delicious – and we are still receiving so many wonderful compliments.
Looking back on our actual wedding reception not one small thing went wrong – it was a perfectly spectacular evening! We would definitely recommend using this venue to any bride and groom looking for a well-executed and worry-free reception with first class service, amazing food quality, and an overall gorgeous venue/view. I just got married at CityPlace this June and I have to say that my experience was fantastic! Lauro, the wedding coordinator for our wedding was incredibly accommodating and detailed. Darlene, who we also worked with was great about keeping in contact and answering our questions.
We received NUMEROUS compliments on the food that they served and everyone was full.
We had out reception in the 42nd floor loft and it was the perfect size for our large wedding, and the view is beautiful at night.
I planned my wedding in 1.5 months and Cityplace was a great venue. I rented out the 42nd floor for both my ceremony and reception which was the Country Club and The Loft. The wedding went off without a hitch and all of my guests and my now husband was very impressed. Darlene Cope and Lauro, our Event Manager are the best in the business and their team was very happily responsive and professional. Anything that we requested was done with care and quickly. I can't say enough of how lucky I got to have chosen this event space. Due to my time constraint, I searched at least 5-6 venues before signing this venue and I am sure glad I did.
Both my husband and I are foodies. So, food was important. I had a duo plate for my plated dinner of steak and fish. It was delicious and enough to be full afterwards. I have been to weddings where I have gone home hungry and had to stop somewhere on the way home to get more to eat. In my case, this didn't happen at my wedding.
Additionally, the views from this event space is amazing and all of my guests got great pictures of downtown Dallas. I am anxiously awaiting my pictures from my official photographer to see how amazing they will turn out. I have had several pictures from my family that are amazing already and look forward to viewing them to relive the special day at Cityplace.
If you are still looking for a space to have your wedding, Cityplace should definitely be on your list to visit. You will be impressed by the event space and the great views. The team will blow you away with their service. Darlene will work with you and your budget. It was a great experience and if I had to do it all over again, I would definitely chose Cityplace.
I am so very glad that we went with Cityplace. From the initial start of checking out the venue, it was something we definitely were looking for. Darlene has been an angel and my life saver the entire process. It was easy to communicate with her and get what we wanted. The management staff to the wait staff and coordinating was more than perfect. I still get compliments how beautiful the place is and it just suited us as a couple. My husband and I had our wedding reception at Cityplace Events. We rented out the entire 42nd floor for our cocktail hour and reception. It was so incredibly beautiful. From the view in both spaces, to the quality of the food and service. Everything was top of the line and perfect. The food was delicious. I could not have asked for more and would not change a thing. I worked with Lauro and Darlene. I cannot say enough about these two individuals. Lauro was on top of everything the night of and my husband and I did not have to lift a finger or worry about anything. Darlene worked with me through the entire process. I absolutely adore this lady. She made everything possible and I truly do not know what I would have done without her. If you want a wedding reception to remember- book with Cityplace Events.
Lauro and Darlene were awesome to work with. I planned my wedding ceremony and reception from out of state, and they made everything so easy. Not to mention that the venue was beautiful. I got married in the loft and had the reception in the 42nd club. They pulled everything together so nicely, that little decoration was necessary.

We looked at about 10 venues before, and we fell in love with Cityplace and stopped looking. It had everything we wanted - ability to host ceremony and reception for 200+, fantastic views of Dallas, and great food. Everything held true on our big day, and all of guests loved the venue and food! Lauro was our banquet manager and completely helpful the whole time. Our engagement period was about about a year long and we booked with Cityplace within the first few months. Darlene was responsive from the very beginning. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is that there was miscommunication about the remodeling that took place in our reception room after we signed and before our wedding. They made up for the changes, and it didn't really matter in the long run. We are completely happy with the venue and the team working there!
Although it was a little bit of a rocky start as CityPlace Events was undergoing a change in management and caterers, the sales director. Darlene Coupe, was amazing. She was there as we laughed and cried and helped us plan the wedding of our dreams. The service from her and her team was amazing, they were attentive to details and brought our attention to many items that we may have overlooked. Any request that we had was immediately addressed.
The food from their caterer, Andrew Ormsby Catering, was amazing. We are still receiving complements about how good it was.
The worked with us every step of the way and I would highly recommend them.
We had an overall wonderful experience with Cityplace Events. My only complaint is that Cityplace changed owners in the middle of our planning process. Therefore, our coordinator changed, so we had to discuss many details twice. We worked with Darlene Copy and Lauro. They both met all of our needs and were wonderful to work with! They were great with communication, details, and setting up the room exactly as we discussed. The food was delicious, and our guests loved the view from the 42nd Floor Club Room!
Our Wedding was held on the 42nd Floor. City Place and their Staff were so reliable attentive and showed everyone the best of Hospitality. The food was immaculate. The View was breath taking as we looked over the City. After our experience with City Place we will refer others who want to get Married or do any kind of function to this wonderful establishment. This place was fantastic! From the view of the city, to the food and staff, Cityplace is all-around amazing. Darlene and Lauro were so easy to work with and always had our best interest at hand. It was such a unique place and we had the time of our lives. I would definitely recommend Cityplace to others!
My husband and I recently had our ceremony and reception at Cityplace. We decided to have our ceremony on the 29th floor, in the atrium and our reception on the 42nd floor in the loft. Both our ceremony and reception turned out exactly how we wanted it to be. It was a pleasure working with Darlene (lead contact) and Jason (service director) to accomplish what we wanted to (and needed to (we had a hybrid Hindu/Christian ceremony)) over several long months of planning. Notably, working on the "fire exception" for our ceremony, customizing our menu, being very responsive and thorough with correspondence, answering all of our endless questions, accommodating our every request and change, and working with our vendors for an earlier set-up time in the final days leading up to our wedding. We could not be more pleased with how everything looked and how smoothly our wedding ran from start to finish.
Getting all the details together here was a nightmare because they changed the owners of the space and couldnt just comunicate that with all the contracts they had. Once we finally got to the wedding they took care of everything nicely and its a beautiful venu. I think the price we paid was well worth it however now with the new company I dont think other people in my income bracket will be able to afford the new prices.
We were extremely disappointed with Cityplace. They made the last few weeks of our planning a complete nightmare. First of all I was passed around to three different sales reps and when I got to the last one they tried to change the prices and the entire menu two weeks before the wedding and before they did this they tried to keep brushing me off so that when they did it I would have no other options because there was no time left to find a other venue. They tried to tell me that since the old company had been bought out that gave them the right to do whatever they wanted. They finally decided to honor our contract when we threaten them and got lawyers involved but the fact that we had to do is just sad. They are just put to get more moeny and they dont care about their clients. I am sure that they are trying to do the same thing with other people who had their weddings booked there before the new company took over.... Our wedding coordinator, Margarita, did not do the majority of the things that we had discussed when we were planning which was really disappointing and frustrating. I had to tell her the day of to do the things that were planned. She either did not listen to what we wanted or didn't care. Overall it was a very stressful experience which sucks because the venue itself is very beautiful, it's too bad the people who work there are so terrible.
Our experience with Cityplace CHG/Events was a nightmare. The venue was undergoing a change in management around Summer 2012. I signed a contract with Cityplace in April, and when the the transition was taking place, we were kept from the truth and lied to. We felt extorted. The staff (same people worked at/for both management companies) took advantage of the fact that we were mere weeks away from our wedding day, and delayed telling us about the last-minute cancellation of the contract. Then the "new" management tried keep our $6K deposit in an attempt to get us to sign a more expensive contract with the new "owners." In the end, they wouldn't give us the deposit back unless we signed a waiver and release of all liabilities. Run! It was an awful thing to go through.
The view of Dallas from the 42nd Floor clubroom was gorgeous, but the food stole the show. Ours was the first large event for new executive chef Andrew Ormsby, and we hit the jackpot! Lobster appetizers, beef tenderloin with cabernet sauce, Asian salad, trio of desserts - the food was amazing, which is difficult to do for 90+ people. And the cost was less than most of the other upscale venues we visited! Lynn was very knowledgeable to work with and provided helpful suggestions that made the evening run smoothly. The staff onsite was professional and prepared. People said it was the best rehearsal dinner they had ever been to.
We decided to have a ALL in ONE location. We didn't want our guest having to pack up from one location and drive to another. So, we had the top floor all to ourselves.
Our guest loved the layout, the view and feel of the entire night.
