My experience at Classic Tuxedo was amazing! Leo, who is a rockstar, helped me get my perfect suit for my wedding. My wife and I visited it last summer as we passed it on Newbury Street and were greeted by Leo who went over the whole process with us and what they offer. We then set up a formal appointment to go over options. I chose to get a custom fitted suit from them, and they couldn’t have been more helpful and patient with me when it came to choosing all the options. Leo gave plenty of fashion and style suggestions along the way, which I completely appreciated. When my suit came in, it was perfectly made, only needing some minor tailoring, some of which they were able to do right there with their amazing tailors as I waited, eliminating the need to make more trips. Leo really makes an effort to make sure you really like how it fits you and will make as many adjustments as you need.
I was so impressed with my suit that I decided to also have a custom jacket made for my rehearsal dinner. Again, Leo went through all the options with me going over many fabrics and styles. Just like the suit, the jacket came out great. I also ended up renting a Tuxedo from them as well for a black-tie wedding, and that process was incredibly smooth and easy.
I recommend Leo to anyone looking for a suit for any reason in the Boston area. He and the whole team are amazing! Thank you, Classic Tuxedo!!
An absolute wedding nightmare! Avoid renting suits from Classic Tuxedo at all costs. We originally booked Classic Tuxedo in November 2019 for our August 2020 wedding for 14 guys (groom, groomsmen, fathers). Unfortunately we had to reschedule our wedding to September 2021, and still decided to use their services. We were told that we were renting a navy suit with vest, white shirt, shoes, belt, cufflinks and studs (that we picked out), and a plain sage green tie.
When the guys picked their suits up the Thursday before the wedding, every single person picked up a different thing. Different colored blue/navy jackets and pants, no one had belts, some had striped ties, some had patterned ties, some had no ties at all, everyone had different cuff links than we suggested, the groom's shoes were scuffed with black marks and were folded and worn, 4 of the guys' suits didn't fit at all, my father's suit was completely measured incorrectly and he didn't receive his suit until the night before the wedding.
It was an absolute nightmare trying to track down all 14 guys to figure out who got which tie, what was missing, whose suit didn't fit -- all 2 days before our wedding when we are trying to check into our hotel and go to our rehearsal dinner.
Instead of checking into our wedding hotel with me, my husband had to drive (for a second time) to the Quincy location to pick up the "matching ties" we were promised the day before, so that all the groomsmen matched, only to find out that they were out of stock of the sage green ties that we had selected 2 years earlier. They were giving us different ties that they thought were close enough. After rescheduling a wedding twice and waiting 3.5 years for our wedding day, it was pretty devastating to think that none of the groom, groomsmen, or fathers would be matching.
The night before the wedding, we had 14 ties dropped off that we had never seen before and we were hoping looked good. They didn't exactly match the bridesmaids dresses and would not have been my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pick, but we literally had no other choice.
The worst thing is renting the suits was not cheap either! We thought we were going to a nice place on Newbury street and paying for a professional tuxedo rental service, but we got anything but that.
I would avoid renting from Classic Tuxedo at all costs. I would not recommend them to anyone, unless you are looking for extreme stress the day before your wedding.
Leo at Classic Tuxedo on Newbury provided a top-notch experience from start to finish!
My wife and I had been doing market research on a suit for me for the wedding for a while and had been to several department stores to look at high end suits, but nowhere else provided the same level of customer service and knowledge of the product as Leo at Classic Tuxedo.
During the initial fitting and measurement, Leo spared no detail to ensure that the suit would fit perfectly. He truly is an expert tailor! When the suit arrived, it turned out beautifully and was of an equivalent if not higher overall quality than the top European luxury brands.
We were also able to truly customize the entire suit. Buttons, custom embroidery, threads, lining, etc. They also go above and beyond to make the customer have a special experience. I truly enjoyed the custom suit shopping experience at Classic Tuxedo and cannot wait to customize another suit when the time comes! This is a great business and I highly recommend them for your custom suiting needs!
We had to go with silver because they did not have a purple to match my Alfred Angelo bridesmaids dresses
Beautiful rentals! Great selection of colors and products.
There were so many mistakes made when getting our groomsmen their tuxes, it wasn't the stores fault it was the ware house being careless. The store employees did an amazing job making the corrections though and were friendly.
everyone loved that we had a photo booth they said it was so fun and i have all the pictures to prove it. we used the book we got with all their pictures as the guest book so it was a fun way to do it. they had all the props and someone there to keep everything organized and prepare the book for us
When I went to pick out my tuxes, it took me a while to make a decision because they had a few that I liked! I finally made a decision and all the guys in the wedding, including my 4 year old son and my Father, were fitted!! The date to pick them up was 2 days before the wedding! Good thing I tried my sons on him because the jacket was too small and the shirt was way too big! I was able to get the right size jacket...The day of the wedding my husband noticed his white vest had a stain on it. He also realized one of our groomsmen had a completely different pair of pants from everyone else and not only were they different, they had bright blue thread on the seat. They must have torn before and had to be fixed, which is fine, it happens but at least use the correct color thread and sew them correctly! The stitching was all over the place so it clearly stood out! The rest of the groomsmen, didn't have the greatest pants either! They all looked like they had been hemmed numerous times, so you could see where the stitching was taken out previously and the bottoms weren't pressed! So they looked even worse! When my husband went to return all of them, the manager wasn't there. I called him the next day and he was very apologetic but the fact that these problems are possibly going to show up in my photographs makes me very upset! The reason I chose Classic Tuxedo was because I saved $300 on my photography for using them! Of course the tuxes on the mannequins look nothing like the actual product! Very disappointed!
We went with Classic Tuxedo because they were giving us a good deal. It was the worst experience ever. 6 out of the 10 tuxes were wrong in some way. From pants being too big, shirt colors being wrong, to people getting two left shoes. The staff was not helpful. We used the stores in Quincy and Natick. There were mistakes at both places. Both places never apologized and instead said oh well. When we asked how they were going to fix it their response was we needed to go to Beverly. We were getting married in Plymouth. Beverly is about 2 1/2 hours away and they wanted us to do this the day before the wedding. When we ordered them we were promised if we come in on the Thurs before the wedding if there were any problems they would overnight whatever we needed to us down in Plymouth. But when we actually had an issue that didn't happen. We asked to speak to the manager who was on vacation. The woman at the store said she would call him but he never called us. Our two ring bearers had to go out and buy black suits since they couldn't get us the right tuxes. They didn't know how to do measurements. My husband was on the phone with the manager in Natick and was asking him to size the boys again so we could figure something out. His response was I don't know how to.
It was literally the only stressful thing about our wedding. I would encourage everyone not to use them. I wouldn't want you to take the chance on something like this happening.
We went through the Waterville location and had many issues. First, the tux that we'd picked out and put a deposit on 7 months before the wedding was discontinued without anyone notifying us. The manager of that location was fired, and when the new person took over, the transition did not start well. When my husband went to get fitted for his tux about 5-6 months out, he found out then that his tux was not available. After figuring out that there was a problem, the new manager did come to work with us very well. She let us pick out a new tux and honored the price we had originally signed our contract for. We ended up with a much better tux than the original. Because my husband had already had a bad experience fitting into a tux, we asked if they could get us one in for him to try on to ensure the proper fit. They did this a few different times until he got what he needed/wanted.
When the wedding came, his tux came in in the wrong size and without cuff links. Each of our fathers' tuxes also came in the wrong size as well. These things were fixed before the day of the wedding. The one piece that we didn't know that had gone wrong until it was too late was that the vests/ties for each of our 4 groomsmen and our ring bearer were the wrong color! (Cornflower blue instead of royal to match the bridesmaids' dresses). The vests/ties were all from the wrong designer as well (including the groom's, fathers', and 4 additional ushers). Because we let individuals pick them up from the various locations, I did not see any of them until moments before I walked down the aisle.
I have recently heard that following our wedding, the Waterville location has now turned into a pickup/drop off point, and that they are no longer doing orders out of the store.
In all fairness, I don't know how many of the problems were due to the change in management and how many were human error. All I know is that I was not happy with the end result.
